Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

With the Democrats' full-throated moralizing of late, I'm almost tempted to vote for them -- although perhaps "full-throated" is the wrong phrase to use with regard to Democrats and sex scandals. The sudden emergence of the Swift Butt Veterans for Truth demonstrates that the Democrats would prefer to talk about anything other than national security.

Unfortunately for them, the psychotic Kim Jong Il seems to be setting off nukes, raising the embarrassing issue of the Clinton administration's 1994 "peace" deal with North Korea.

At least with former Rep. Mark Foley, you could say the Democrats' hypocritical grandstanding was just politics. But in the case of North Korea, Democrats are resorting to bald-faced lies.

Current New Mexico governor and former Clinton administration official Bill Richardson has been on tour, bragging about the groundbreaking Clinton administration negotiations with North Korea -- keeping his fingers crossed that no one has access to news from 1994.

In 1994, the Clinton administration got a call from Jimmy Carter -- probably collect -- who was with the then-leader of North Korea, saying: "Hey, Kim Il Sung is a total stud, and I've worked out a terrific deal. I'll give you the details later."

Clinton promptly signed the deal, so he could forget about North Korea and get back to cheating on Hillary. Mission accomplished.

Under the terms of the "agreed framework," we gave North Korea all sorts of bribes -- more than $5 billion worth of oil, two nuclear reactors and lots of high technology. In return, they took the bribes and kept building nukes. This wasn't difficult, inasmuch as the 1994 deal permitted the North Koreans to evade weapons inspectors for the next five years.

Yes, you read that right: North Korea promised not to develop nukes, and we showed how much we trusted them by agreeing to no weapons inspections for five years.

The famed "allies," whom liberals claim they are so interested in pleasing, went ballistic at this cave-in to North Korea. Japan and South Korea -- actual allies, unlike France and Germany -- were furious. Even Hans Blix thought we were being patsies.

If you need any more evidence that it was a rotten deal, The New York Times hailed it as "a resounding triumph."

At the time, people like William Safire were screaming from the rooftops that allowing North Korea to escape weapons inspections for five years would "preclude a pre-emptive strike by us if North Korea, in the next U.S. president's administration, breaks its agreement to freeze additional bomb-making."

And then on Oct. 17, 2002 -- under a new administration, you'll note -- The New York Times reported on the front page, so you couldn't have missed it: "Confronted by new American intelligence, North Korea has admitted that it has been conducting a major clandestine nuclear weapons development program for the past several years."

So when it comes to North Korea, I believe the Democrats might want to maintain a discreet silence, lest anyone ask, "Hey, did you guys do anything with North Korea?"

But by Richardson's lights, the only reason Kim Jong Il is testing nukes is because Bush called him evil. He said, "When you call him axis of evil or a tyrant, you know, he just goes crazy." This is the sort of idiocy you expect to hear from an illiterate like Keith Olbermann, not someone who might know people who read newspapers.

Richardson also blames the war in Iraq, bleating that the poor North Koreans feel "that there's too much attention on the Middle East, on Iraq. So it's a cry for attention." If Kim just wanted our attention, he could have started dating Lindsay Lohan. But Richardson says Kim "psychologically feels he's been dissed, that he's not treated with respect."

Damn that Bush! If only he had ignored the crazy Muslims and dedicated himself into sending flowers (and more nuclear reactors!) to North Korea, we could be actively helping Kim develop his nukes like the Clinton administration did.

As Richardson said, Kim "wants us to negotiate with him directly, as we did in the Clinton administration."

To go on TV and propose negotiating with North Korea like Clinton did without ever mentioning that North Korea cheated on that agreement before the ink was dry would be like denouncing American aggression against Japan in 1942 and neglecting to mention Pearl Harbor. Anyone who is either that stupid or that disingenuous should not be allowed on TV.

When pressed by CNN's Anderson Cooper about the failed deal, Richardson lied, claiming the 1994 deal prevented the North Koreans from building nukes "for eight years" -- i.e., right up until the day The New York Times reported the North Koreans had been developing nukes "for the past several years."

Kim is crazier than any leader even South America has been able to produce. In fact, he's so crazy, we might be able to get the Democrats to take action. Someone tell Nancy Pelosi that the "Dear Leader" is an actual pederast. Then we'll at least be able to read his instant messages.

My pre-emptive strike
Against all the Lefties who are going to swoop by, leaving their usual guano loads, trying to imply that Coulter's a man-in-drag, doesn't have an Adam's Apple, is skanky, doesn't quote sources, is hyperbolic, cranky, no sense of humor, doesn't know what she's talking about, yada yada yada.

Hey! We've heard it all before. Your alternative is Al Franken and Janeane Garolfolo, which should tell you something about criticizing Ann on anything having to do with appearance and humor. Or anything else I just mentioned, as I think about it.

As I think about it further, I'm actually starting to take pity on you guys and your side.

Wow. If Franken and Garofolo were my side's sex symbols, I guess I'd just eat one of my guns. What a bummer that would be.

Great Column by Great Goddess Coulter
I was laughing the whole way through.

Since, apparently, we're not going to nuke North Korea, I guess laughing about how ridiculous it all is is all that we can do.

Now, this Ann at her best.
Let the leftist spittle fly.

Ah1
Ann has yet again pounded the liberals' hypocrisy down their throats with another skillful display of verbal artistry!

jerubaal...
....there is one pair and they belong to Shrillary....

BrianR, Cynewulf, and Me
Did you see what time we all posted? We need to spread it out a little better if we're to keep the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy a secret... we're making it too easy for them.

Darth Rove will not be pleased.

JimmyCarter
ROFLMBO!!!!

FACTS NOT RICHARDSON'S FORTE
I have lived in New Mexico 50 some years, born and raised here, and can tell you that our Governor, Bill Richardson, is nothing more than "Slick Willie" the second.

He hasn't done much here, he's to busy polishing up his image for a vice presidents run with Hillary, and rubbing elbows with despots.

One thing he has done though is tax us to death. In 2004 alone raises in taxes, business fees and "unforced" taxes, like state park camping fees, tags for vehicles and such, went up to the tune of $680 million. In a state with a total population of about 1.75 million.

The Dems like to put him up at a "tax cutting" governor because he did away with taxes on groceries. He did do that, but it now costs $5.00 for a roll of toilet paper. Go figure.

Just like Carter, and Slick willie the first, Richardson's idea of diplomacy is kissing the a** of every little dictator that comes down the pike with his hand out. He, like Clinton, is a disgrace to his country. And, to the state I call home, the Land of Enchantment.

Restating the obvious
Loved the column, as usual.

I recently posted something to the effect that the reason Nokor snookered us is that Willy wasn't/isnt used to dealing with people having no honor. It was like dealing with himself.

If the troll doll had honor, the country would be lit up like Times Square at night instead of testing nukes.

If Willy had a temper tantrum over being asked why he didn't try harder to catch Bin Laden how is he going to react when someone asks him why he offered them five years without inspection and why he trusted the Nokors to keep their word, other than the fact they were honorable communists, not part of the right wing conspiracy.

jerubaal's right!
It seems everyone is here tonight!

Of course, Ann's column didn't get published until later in the day.

Kraut
"If the troll doll had honor, the country would be lit up like Times Square at night instead of testing nukes. "

Indeed.

And I agree with you that sociopaths like Bill Clinton don't know how to deal with each other. They're used to preying upon/dealing with more honorable men than themselves. The fact that they get away with murder when doing so contributes to their egos.

Ignore North Korea
Ignore them.

Tell them to build all the nukes they want... and tell them to learn
to eat plutonium because they won't be getting any more food from us.

Tell them to set one off every now and then for heat and light because
we're stopping energy assistance too.

Tell them not to try to sell or give any away, or to use any on their
neighbors.

Tell them beyond that, they're on their own, and as we used to say in
the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea during the '80s, "Let your
conscience be your guide". If they violate those three prohibitions,
then the Chinese fear of a land border with North Korea becomes moot,
because the Chinese are concerned about a land border that isn't
composed of radioactive glass.

I have an experiment that I would like
liberals to take.

Get a sociopath and yourself alone in a room. You have a gun and $10 million in cash, jewlry and bonds. You also have your beautiful wife and daughter.

Now, negotiate with him to keep your cash and family safe without using your gun.

Without your being willing to fight back and without police to fight for you, he will have your gun, your money, and your women.

The same goes for international politics, but there is no police to call unless it is us. So, you liberals who want to negotiate with the Palestinians, the Iranians, and the Koreans among others. Remember this before you find our nation broke and raped.

I feel strong pity for the Left
I'm actually being to feel sorry for all the Dems/Leftists out there. It's too easy to debate them because if you let them talk long enough they'll eventually contradict themselves. This North Korea situation is a case in point.

When Kerry was running for president in '04 his whole platform was "Vote for me because I'm going to bring in other countries to the bargaining table so we don't have to burden all the cost ourselves and there wouldn't even be a war because I along with our allies would've negotiated."

Now with North Korea, the same Democrats that backed Kerry's position are saying, "Shame on you Bush! How dare you have six nation talks with North Korea! You should've negotiated with them one on one!" ROFL! Unbelievable!

Do Democrats honestly think the American people are that stupid that they can flip flop like this and the people won't notice?

Another example: after 9/11 you guys were howling at the moon, "Why didn't you see this coming Bush?! Why couldn't you stop it?! Why weren't you proactive?!" Then when every intelligence agency on Earth, including the Clinton Administration prior, said that Iraq had WMDs then the same Dems that howled at the moon earlier said, "You can't do a preemptive strike. They're not an 'immediate threat'"! Absolutely Laughable!

Seriously, it's perfectly fine to have objections and voice your displeasure with something; that's what the First Amendment gives you, but you guys whine when the coin flip turns up heads and then whine some more when it turns up tails!

Sorry Dems, but you can't "triangulate" your position on national security. Have some cojones, pick a position, stick to it, and defend it. That's the only way you'll get political power back.

What Screw Up?
That we stopped pretending that North Korea was complying with the treaty?

Jerubaaal: Re, the time
You're right, and that's so funny. We were all burning up the keyboards at the same time.

GI Joe: re your post to Jerubaal
That was weird, man. I have no idea what your point was. You sound like you're a conservative in your other post, yet you lay into Jer like he's a lefty or something.

A little clarification?

Yow! Swoop-By Kim just dropped a load
while I was typing my last post.

Okay, whose turn is it for guano duty?

Sorry Kimberly I didn't
mean to be so hard on you. Your reaction to Ann, my baby doll would be expected if you are some kind of lesbobiatch.

I seem to remember the big democrat presidential debates. There was Howard Dean, Kucinich, and John Kerry arguing who was the biggest Metro-sexual.

Come on, you remember. Most everyone with a lick of sense, or a sense of humor, remember this sad episode.

Of all the people in the debate, Al Sharpton, the only man there, said he would hang out with Kerry's wife while he was being a Metro-sexual.

Anyway, my recollection is close enough to recommend a black guy if any of the other cures for your apparent sexual dysfunctions don't work.

Sorry my old Redneck brass is taken but maybe you will get lucky. The only man I have seen in the democrat party is Al Sharpton.

You know he and Jesse Jackson have been quite lately. Maybe they love their country more than you do.

Admit it Kimberly, your a New York lesbian who fantasies about Hillery. Otherwise you would not sound like one when you post on this medium.

Ok, I feel guilty now, picking on an unarmed person.

GOD BLESS BUSH

G.I.Joe
Yes, I'm pissed at you.

god

(Bipsy Quee...
tries hard not to laugh.)

Ahhh, Drive-By Kim....

... you are SO predictable!

No matter how you try to deflect the blame from your boy, Bill Clinton ("So deluded is she that she's convinced herself that news of N. Korea building 10 nukes since 2002 is a Clinton problem."), the FACTS speak for themselves....

The "Agreed Framework" was supposed to forestall future nuclear weapons development by N. Korea permanently... not just until Billy Boy became the Ex-President.

The real pity here is how the once, great Democratic party has now become the party of "whatever Bush says or does, we take the opposite position... even if it exposes us to (legitimate) claims of hypocrisy."

You Libs/Dems are like school in the summertime... NO CLASS!

G.I.Joe

While it is clear by your posts that you believe in conservatism, the manner in which you deliver your opinions sounds more like what I'd expect from the usual Lefties who swoop by on this site.

C'mon, Man. Don't give them ammunition!

BrianR...
If you were on the side of Franken and Garofolo you could NOT eat one of YOUR guns.......You would not be allowed to own one........

This column's a gem
...a work of art.

Not only did Ann debunk, expose and fillet both Clinton and Jimmah, on the N. Korean matter, but she threw in the buffoonish Richardson for good measure. The only one missing was Madelleine Dimwit. She had all their ducks lined up and picked them off one by one - the product of a good memory, thorough research and excellent analysis.

Why this nation would ever continue to pay attention to fools like these is beyond reason, explained only by a droning media bent on drilling ignorance and lies into the population.

Another reason why this column is so propitious - it's pre election. Along with their continual caterwauling about failure and need for withdrawal from Iraq, the left has been continually squawking about Bush's lack of attention to N. Korea - i.e. that he needs to have a tete a tete with the pooch eater. In this case, it's easy to see, for anyone who will see, what the liberal, amateurish approach to foreign policy has got us - lies, deceit, blackmail and a worsening situation every time.

In the final analysis, the truth is inescapable - these people are little more than outright traitors who want us to fail by emboldening and strengthening our enemies - there is no other way to explain it.

This is the same way it is domestically, but it's more difficult to see for those who realize or are lured by some personal benefit, profit or gain from what they do - or promise.

For now, all we have to stop them with is the ballot...and even that has been seriously compromised by their fraud.

I love the fact that
…Bush, et al, refuse to engage NorK in bilateral talks. To engage in such would only let the rest of the threatened world off the hook. Nope, not gonna happen.

Can’t help but wonder, though, does Governor Richardson know he’s making an utter fool of himself?

BrianR
I must have missed Gi Joe's post to me before it got deleted. That or I'm just not seeing.

GI Joe, read the book of Judges closely and you'll find out what my name means. It has something to do with Baal, but nothing to do with gerbils!

Miss Kimberly....
I choose to ignore everything you say - you wouldn't know truth if bonked you on the head.

Hmmm
Looks like I've been mistaken for a liberal for the fiftieth time on here.

"Hay, gerbil boy Jurabaal, or whatever his or her name, it's really not right to pick a fight with an unarmed man or woman or whatever he or she is."

Does anyone have a copy of the Rosetta Stone handy so I can translate that?

C'mon Kim
You're trying to pull our leg, you really don't believe that Kim Jong Il just sat a admired all of those reactors during the balance of the Clinton administration do you? Then as soon as the President insulted him immediately set oout to prove him right, that is a stretch even for a lib.
I do love Ann's twisting (the knife in) humor. A great way to start the day.

G I Joe
Hey, we should be thankful that the lovely Miss Kim won't reproduce. Can you imagine the impact of the little ones brought up with such blather?

Gonzo
"It's too easy to debate them because if you let them talk long enough they'll eventually contradict themselves."

It's so reliable, it's almost a law of physics, Gonzo. When the first conservative pointed this out to them in the paleolithic era is when the left invented the word "nuance" to describe their inconsistencies.

Sawdust
"Can you imagine the impact of the little ones brought up with such blather?"

Yes.

http://www.stupidcollege.com/items/Crazy-Kid

cowboy sheepboy whatever
"...there you go again..."

Good ole Kim
Does Kimberley believe the history began this morning? How else to explain her inability to realize that actions taken (many) years ago can have consequences now? How nice it must be to live in a vacuum.

One of your best, Ann
Glad to see the details of Clinton's deal with the NorKs. The NorK nukes are a micrcosm of the results of trying to play nice with awful people. When we compromise principle and settle for shiny short term deals, dictators and sociopath heads of state take the quid and somehow we never see any quo. And then people are surprised that down the road the true colors appear. An evil tree does not bear good fruit. Didn't i read that in some old book somewhere?

Let me get this straight,
Lefties want the US to have one on one talks with Li'l Ill Kim (That's not you Kimberley!)but our middle east policy needs to be approved by France & the UN? Am I missing something?

A LEGACY...
..HAS BEEN WRITTEN!!! Written by Ann for all posterity. Not exactly the legacy the Clintons wanted, but their legacy none-the-less.

Kimberly
I only want to say that Foley resigned under pressure as soon as the story broke. That was the appropriate thing to do under the circumstances. Mssrs. Barney Frank and Gary Studds didn't resign, and were both relected to a half dozen or so more terms. Republicans did deal with the problem, historically Dems haven't. That's the lesson of history. Based on that, you might want to be a little less ready with the ad hominems and a little longer on facts when you start spewing venemous accusations.

Good Column
The Democrats are again counting on the selective memory of the masses and the apathy of the American people.
President Bush did a very good job explaiinig yesterday about how talking with North Korea and its leaders on a one on one basis didn't work. He told the press he decided to get other countries involved and shake things up to realize we have another Hitler wanta be in North Korea. As usual they didn't listen or didn't pay attention to what he was saying.
The North Koreans are practicing the old "Guns before Butter" program that Hitler and the Naziis did in the mid and late thirties.
As for the comment about how much money was sent under Bush okay, that has happened before. The person who wrote that comment is using the same tactics that the Liberal Democrats are using. What about the millions of dollars and scrap metal shipped to Japan before WWII?
What about the millions sent in the twenties to the Soviet Union along with tons and tons of food that helped to feed the then young Soviet leaders who created the Cold War madness we went through for so long?
It appears that its become standard operating prodeure to tell a lie when the truth is needed. Stop accusing the Conservatives and Republicans of things and acts that were committed by Democrats and Liberals also. Stop coming off like you are the saviors of the American people. Living a lie gets harder everyday especially when the truth is right there staring you in the face. People ARE starting to wake up and see that the Democrats are no better than the Republicans, except maybe they have a better ad agnecy handling their lies.
The North Koreans leader is very fast becoming a comical figure and as soon as he embarrasses the Chinse leadership enough, they'll get rid of him. They have the biggest and fastest growing economy in the Pacific rim right now and they're not going to let some two bit Hitler hopeful screw things up for them and Asia. He'll self destruct and China will help him. Too many people want a quick fix for this situation.
As President Bush has said, "Let's let diplomacy take its course." We already have enough turncoat Democrats in the congress who voted for war in Iraq and now have turned their back on things, we do we need them to do it again when it comes to North Korea?
History is repeating itself and you Liberals better wake up and pay attention. Go back and study what happened in 1933 to 1939 especially. It WILL enlighten you.

Good choices?
Great article, but as usual, the libs refuse to admit the truth ever. My biggest peeve with them is that they cannot even admit that in today's world, many issues have no "good" answer and every option available contains misery in one manner or another. Their hatred of President Bush blinds them to any conclusion other than it is his fault for everything that ever happened throughout history. Yes it was Bush that caused the destruction of Sodam and Gomorrah, both world wars and will ultimately be responsible for Armegeddon. Keep poking them in the eye Ann, if it doesn't help them see the light, at least it is fun!

Another fantastic column ...
... by Ann.

This one is definitely going into my blog right now. This needs to be spread as far and wide as possible.

Good article, Ann,
but not quite up to your usual standard. Rather than complete destruction of the libs with a few bunker-blaster bombs, you merely confused them with the heading, "Clinton's New Glow Job." They don't know if they should feign being p***ed or to return to their default position of appeasement at any price.

The Hildebeest was out on the streets on the Big Apple yapping about how Bush screwed up the DPRK nuke policy when John McCain slapped her around and informed the press of the actual fecklessness of the Clinton policy. That put the liberal press, itself, in a quandry since they anticipate the coronation of Hillary in 2008, yet they adore McCain because he has a propensity to rain on every conservative parade he can find. Yet, when push come to shove, the elite press will toss McCain overboard in a NY minute because, if nothing else, McCain is a Hawk on national defense. That alone will cause panic in the leftist bed-wetters.l

Hey Cowboy - The rest of the story
From your own source, the plants built by the CLinton administration:

"Although the new reactors are supposed to be "proliferation resistant", they could actually produce more plutonium than the gas-graphite reactors which North Korea stopped building. This is because they are much bigger (see WISE News Communique 545.5260, "What is the best solution/future for North Korea?")."

http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/index.html?http://www10.antenna.nl/wise/566/5390.html

As for your 95 million (as apposed to the 5 BILLION sent by Clinton) the money was released to KEDO, who held it like a carrot in front of the N. Korean burro. North Korea never saw a dime of the 95 million as they never complied with the requirements laid out in nuclear non-proliferation effort guide lines. Fuel oil shipments where halted at that time.

As far as I can see
The Clintons' "glow" is due to all the toxicity oozing from them!

Why focus on Kim?
There is nothing to be responded to. Until a lefty makes an intelligent point, they should be ignored.

Now to Bill Richardson. He is very typical of lefties in that he recently had to change his resume. Seems he had left a point on it that he had been drafted by a professional baseball team out of college when he knew that was not true. Like so many libs they have this childish tendency to want to seem cool. Like Al Gore with the internet or 'Love Story'. To them, as to a child, they must feel that if somebody reads that they'll think "Wow". It's the same with their positions on so many issues. They want to sound cool or maybe feel good about themselves. The issue isn't that Affirmative Action is bad for Americans--Blacks from whom so little is expected--or whites who are discriminated against--it's that they sound sympathetic when talking about it. I have a blog post on their childish tendencies--Political Children.

As to this NoKo issue. The truth is known. Madelyn Albright admitted they got fooled on some interview in the last year. They left things in a mess for the next administration--politically and economically and in all other ways because they just wanted to sound cool.

NOTHING TO SAY
Other than great column Ann, and thank you to the rest of you for providing humor and good entertainment.

Good day to all:
http://www.headsneedtoroll.org

N. Korea already off the radar screen...
Well, the news organizations covered N. Korea for --oh-- about a day. They're back on Foley hotter and heavier than ever. The tabloid press at its best.

Kimberly and Cowboy
Kimberly, even the New York Times said in 2002 that North Korea had been working on a CLANDESTINE nuclear program for at least several years (before Bush). This seems to be hard for you to grasp. NO one is denying he's been building nuclear bombs the last four years. He has. But Kim, it takes years to get to the point of being able to build a bomb. My ex-brother-in-law is a nulcear engineer at a nuclear facility. I know you have to build the facility first (takes years). Clinton messed up. Let's stop with the name calling and LEARN from it. LESSON LEARNED? You can't negotiate with despots!

Cowboy, Bush was wrong to try to appease Lil Kim. See, I admit when the guy I voted for makes a mistake. No deals with despots!!

See how it is done Kim? Cowboy said something showing Bush (the guy I voted for) made a mistake. I did not call Cowboy names or say he must be lying (it is true). I think Bush made a huge mistake. Clinton made a HUGE mistake and you throwing a temper tantrum does not change that. Clinton screwed up royally. Period. Now we must face the consequences of what he did. I would appreciate it if someone like you, Kim would choose to stand together as an American. If you can't do that, why can't you move to Canada or maybe North Korea?

I keep saying
If we ignore Kimberly she might go away. I know I will never read a post by that nut job.

ANN RULES !!!!!!

Hard to believe that
Clinton's been out of office for six years and Republicans are still blaming him for everything wrong.

Ann is THE Goddess!
Ann, you are the best! My favorite line was the comment by NM gov. Bill Richardson....about Kim being mad because George called him evil.
How nice to have the adults in charge..so sad we have had to clean up the mess which the previous administration left us.
And they want Hillary next?! Bill was so busy with the party going on in his pants that he practically gave away the whole country for the price of some nuclear secrets. Hillary will finish the job...VOTE REPUBLICAN werever you can. Thes two Socialist PIGS need to be stopped!

Re: Texaslady
Exactly right! Come to think of it... I don't recall seeing anything from tanabear for a while now. Maybe he/she finally got the point...?

Ann, You crack me up!
Ann, Once again you humorously attacked the liberal left spin machine. If the topic was not so incredibly serious, I would be laughing on the floor. Unfortunately, the deal was as you say, very bad and Clinton and Carter were complicit on the stupidity. Of course the Gray Lady would pofusely expound the deal since is was signed by their Home Boy in Chief.
What gets my goat is that Kim Jong Il is laughing at us because our leaders were such dummies by believing his lying rear.
It seems that the UN is Useless once again and is even arguing whether or not to impose sanctions which do not matter to Kim Il one bit.
When will these idiots wake up?

and Gregian...
don't kid yourself...we would like to forget that pervert and his wife...but they will not leave the stage. Class tells, and he needs to go anyplace where there is no reminder of the 'party years.' THEY will not leave. So, therefore he will be in the public eye till....? Hopefully, continues to embarras the country and perhaps his succubus wife will reign him in at one point. But no one is holding their breath.
Someone said he remines them of the family member who shows up for family funtions, without the invitation, needs a bath and his teeth brushed. TOTAL EMBARASSMENT TO ALL!!

Man Up
Seems to be the theme. Why doesn’t the GOP ever man-up and accept any responsibility? Once again something catastrophic happens on Bush’s watch and it’s all Clinton’s fault. If it was discovered in 2002 that N. Korea had broken it’s treaty why wasn’t harsh action taken then? Bush claims the bilateral talks “just don’t work” but the result of his six-party talks is now all to plain and distressing to see. And by the way, it’s been 6 years already, isn’t it about time Coulter did a column that didn’t revolve around Clinton? I voted for him and think he was a decent president - you know all the peace and prosperity and whatnot, but even I’m sick of hearing about him.

Note to Kimberly
You sound like a true democrat. You certainly have knowledge of all of the off the wall sex stuff, and accuse women of having male sex organs. What does your idiotic rant have to do with the price of rice in North Korea?

Jane..
I, too, will ignore the comments of Kim and co. ....total whack jobs living in a bubble of rarified air. If they emerge, their heads explode! ;-)

Ar we getting through?
Gregdn writes: Hard to believe that Clinton's been out of office for six years and Republicans are still blaming him for everything wrong.
------------------------------------

Does that give you any idea how badly he screwed up? Truman's been out of office over 50 years and we are still dealing with his share of the mess in Korea.

Ah, c'mon, now Ann...
you know it's not fair to hit the Dems with Facts and Data! It bursts the bubble!

Wouldn't you just love to see Ann get together with Mark Steyn to demolish liberals world wide? Their combined wit in the exposition of the facts and data would be something to behold. Of course, the one disadvantage would probably be that all us conservatives would be rolling on the floor laughing too hard to get up and do anything constructive to the next couple of days!

Have you been awake long?

Any talks that don't include the major powers surrounding Korea are a waste of time. Do you really think Korea gives a *&^% what the US thinks or says when it has China backing its play?

heh heh heh..Ann made a funny!
Clinton's new GLOW job...for a minute there I thought Monica was back at the job.

Glow job
Bill Clinton is really one big "glow" job. Why do you think he has that BIG RED NOSE? It certainly is a manifestation of a sickly behavioral pattern!

I love Thursdays
Ann reminds me a lot of the preacher from the coral hour. Every Sunday, the Reverend Kennedy never fails to mention his fight against members of the ACLU. And every Thursday the Irreverent pastor Coulter never fails to blame the newest political problem on her buddy Bill Clinton. Just like its human nature to want to believe in a higher power, I think it's also in the human nature to pitch up enemies to round up people in their niche. I doubt anyone will convert based on Ann's preaching about how all of todays problems are due to liberals, but at least she weekly stirs up her congregation. Just like Kennedy does. Maybe someday she and he will learn that their enemy is actually their friend, but it will probably take another 9/11 to finally admit it. Now if only Clinton would call up Bush and apologize for the Iraq war, 9/11, Foley, the trade deficit, the deficit deficit and all else that keeps Bush occupied, we could get on with life.

alas, Jim...;-(
not sick enough.....(sigh) ;-(

So...I can't figure...
why anyone will vote for a democrat giving the security issues we have see breached when there is dem in office. I think of Eisenhower, Reagan and now Bush...compared to CARTER, CLINTON, KERRY.
(I threw Kerry in there cause it sounded good.)
and, you know, he served in 'NAM, I am told.
My advice to anyone who votes for the dems..learn another language...perhaps French and a smattering of Chinese/Korean...you will need it.
That is not the say that you will need to change your ladies dress habits...burka's are a terriffic fashion statement.
/sarcasm off./

Speaking of GUANO, Kim..
..just read the take on the BABS STREISAND concert and her lack of class. Her 'fans' paid $240. to hear her sing..and all she can give them is a backhanded slap, punctuated with blue language. How classy...BrianR is 100%correct...if that's all you guys have..then you have nothing.
The democrat party needs a credible spokesman...I see they have only uneducated "bloviators." Don't forget Rosie O'D.
(with credit to Bill O'Reilly)

Um..that blame game.....
I don't think anyone is blaming EVERYTHING on the former administrations...to be honest, it is the nature of the job...what is done is usually parsed and judged by history. No one is sure that one decision made today will impact, positivly or negativly, on future generations.
BUT, to be partying for 8 years and then to not accept any responsibility for decisions made is typical of the democrat strategy, particularly of the last administraion. They want all the glory but not one ounce of the shame.

God I love Ann
I'm going to light up my Don Lugo sit back and read it again.
Now let the negotiations begin.
They threatened us now we threaten back'to all you libs out their this is called negotiating,if the left will be so kind as to shutup and let the experts do there job we can avoid a war, though it will look like were on the brink'not to worry the adults are in charge and no Monica to distract George.
Mark my words if left alone in this the right will prevail, and kim will not have nukes in the end.
But my money is on the left, they will start screaming and we will cave so the next administration will have to deal with this mess.

BrianR -- Kimberly's Guano

Guano works just fine and is directly to the point -- especially when the subject is Kimberly Moonbat. Despite your pre-emptive strike she could not resist the tired "man" reference and dropped her usual load of guano.

No substance, no ideas, no plan, just plain unadulterated guano.

Annie:

Great column. Thanks for being there...

Arsonists and Fire Chiefs
For all of you who are trying to figure out why Miss Coulter brings Bubba into account for this mess, allow me to present an anology.

Say I were a fire chief and I dealt with an arsonist by giving him a box of matches. When I stepped down and you became fire chief this arsonist began using that box of matches, that I gave him, to start fires around the city. I believe you would point out that the previous fire chief enabled the arson to commit his crimes on your watch.

Clinton's New Glow Job
Ann obviously doesn't understand the power of the hug. Any good Democrat knows that a hug, especially a group hug, can work miracles, even with a lunatic like Kim Jong Il. It's the bedrock of foreign policy for the Democrats.

GI No
It seems to me that this wannabe GI Joe is a leftest here to spread his/her version of what he/she thinks conservatives are about. It is the crudeness and vulgarity which give you away, you can dress a skunk up like a poodle but the smell remains.

LEROY...;-)
I bow in your direction. Great anology!

Leroy : Rafael:
You were both right on point!

Question for Left Nut
"If it was discovered in 2002 that N. Korea had broken it’s treaty why wasn’t harsh action taken then?"

--> What "harsh action" would you have liked to see? Liberals condemned Bush for calling Kim Il Sung evil.

"Bush claims the bilateral talks “just don’t work” but the result of his six-party talks is now all to plain and distressing to see."

--> What do you think will come out of bilateral talks? Clinton gave billions of dollars and and a couple of reactors. Do you think it wasn't enough?

Why do you think North Korea wants bilateral talks?

You make the same mistake most liberals make in thinking that "talking" has its own inherent value. Like John Kerry said, "At least they were talking."

dont forget
North Korea has been conterfeiting American currency which is...an act of war.

Of course this is Bush's fault somehow...

Time to take off the gloves, Mr.Prez
In her usual cut-to-the-quick style Miss Ann has the Democrats number and I can only hope that the President of the United States will use the bully pulpit to remind the electorate of how we got to the present state in our foreign policy troubles.
The prospect of a Democratic takeover of ANY branch of our government should scare the daylights out of anybody with no less than one or two neurons firing.

I want to add a challenge...
...for any liberal trolls posting here.

Liberals claim that bilateral talks are what's needed.

Prove to me that bilateral talks aren't the first step to an ineffectual appeasement strategy.

Tell me what you'd like to say. Tell me here what strategy you'd like to follow, and what you think would be the outcome.

NRAlifer....and you are surprised??
Why? They will defend this horse's patoot till his end and beyond. It is part of the Hollywood mystique....total adoration at anything he says and does and still hoping that they can get a chance at a MONICA..nothing surpises me when it comes to the dems and that Clinton stain. They will happily march in lock step, behind the pied piper to their demise. The shame is that they are taking all of us with them. SAD!

Damned if you do....
and damned if you don't....

""While Bush has been bogged down with his Pre-emptive war in Iraq delaying a possible attack on NK""

Let's just cut to the chase....George is wrong again, no matter what. Wonder what the headlines would be saying if he HAD ATTACKED NK...the mind just reels with those possibilities.

Donaldd, Have you taken your nose out of CLINTONS um...behind, yet?

Glow job
I get it now. And “full-throated”, ha ha, gee that Ann is clever. It’s been so long since I was in Junior High school that I sometimes forget just how pointed political discourse can go. I see how it warms the hearts of Ann’s fans to see her shine. You know, I myself was uncertain how to feel about the situation in North Korea until Clinton’s wee-wee was mentioned. Then it became clear.

Hockey Goon:
Gee it’s too bad you weren’t there to fight in Korea. I know you would have won. We were all so stupid back then.

NRAlifer:
That goes double for you. I know you would never have let the cold war happen because you would have beat those Ruskies back and made them do what you want. Our wars (you know WWII and Korea) were just walks in the park compared to what rough tough soldiers like you guys went through.

Brian, jerubaal, cyne, NRAlifer
Got on late this morning and find the threads hard to follow. Seems Kimberly's post was deleted again along with some others.Leaves one guessing as to what took place.

No biggy because as we all know, Liberals speak with one voice. You know, that little voice dancing around in their pointy heads saying,"Yours is not to wonder why! Yours is just to do or die!

I'm sure you vets remember that quote. But did you ever think that the Liberals would take on 'military like' discipline to be used against fellow Americans?

Anyway, take no prisoner's!

This came from AFA
I just felt it needed repeating.
Granted most already knew this.

Here is what we can expect if the liberals win:

Amnesty for 12,000,000 illegal immigrants.

A push to make homosexual marriage and polygamy legal in all 50 states.

Only liberal judges will be appointed. They will create laws to implement the social agenda liberals cannot get passed through the legislative process.

Liberals will make the killing of the unborn more difficult to stop.

Liberals will continue to try to rid our society of Christian influence, including any reference to God in our Pledge and on our currency.

A return to the "Fairness Doctrine" in broadcasting where opposing views must be given equal time. Every conservative talk show host will be forced to give a liberal equal time on every issue. The purpose of this rule will be to shut down conservative talk shows.

An increase in taxes to push new social programs.

Passing a new "hate crimes" law making it illegal to refer to homosexuality in a negative manner.

Liberals will give terrorists from other countries who try to kill Americans the same rights American citizens enjoy under our constitution.

We will withdraw from Iraq, sending the message to the terrorists that if they will just be patient they can win and bring their terrorist acts to the U.S.
Go Vote! Encourage Others To Do The Same.

There is nothing to negotiate
There is nothing that can be offered by the US or any other interested country that has not been on the table before. What Kim Jong Ill wants is respect and recognition, without being a nuclear power there is absolutely nothing North Korea can bring into play to accomplish this. Kim wants to be seen as an equal by the rest of the world but NK doesn't have strong global economic muscle, no vast reserves of natural resources to lord over the world, no deep wells of knowledge, no gleaming culture to offer the world, nothing. Well nothing until the other day.

Now, what exactly does anyone think we can offer that will entice him to take the nukes apart? Remember without them he has nothing and as stupid as we want to say he is, the fact is, he is smart enough to know it.

LEROY...MY SON...
DId we get separated at your birth?...I am your long lost mom....good to know you are the young man I would have liked to have raised....LOL...
(or daughter ;-)

Clinton's new glow job
Is it possible that a hottie like Ms. Coulter can be any hotter? I mean, w/ her passion for hating liberals and commies, she is just getting even more SMMMOKING!!

Seems like American champagne-commie-libs are either senile, illiterate, or just simply stupid. They all seem to think that just because the chubby dictator happens to have nukes during Bush's years, or that stinking bearded unemployed cab driver finally killed Americans during the Bush's years, that Bush must be responsible for all it. It's like they were all born 2 hours ago. They have no concept of history or time. It's so adorable that the appeasement libs are so innocent and naive as to how the world's baddest people always take a long time to plan to do harm. So, to all you pinkos out there, bad guys take time to plan do harm to others. Get that through your horse brain.

Thanks to the former hillBilly presidents, we are witnessing the trickery and lies that commies are famous for. Of course, the bloated commie dictator is just one example. He's just exercising his knowledge that America will appease, from within, if he bullies us enough. We're rich and always eager to give out aid or cash concessions. We do that everyday for everyone around the world.

The other example is Vietnam. Because the slimy willie "felt people's pain," he lifted the embargo w/ Vietnam before he left office just so he could take one last lavish trip to see his buddies and compare anti-American notes w/ those commies. After the embargo was lifted, billions of American dollars in the form of aid, trade, and cash poured into Vietnam. Yet, more than a decade later, Vietnam is still a near-third world country w/ ever increasing corruption. Illiteracy and poverty are the norms there. Pollution and diseases are another accepted facts of life there. Crime is rising and even committed openly by government officials. The black market is STILL the market over there. Those commies also know to put on a good face and build a couple of tourist resorts and American money will continue to flow in.

As someone who has lived under communism and had escaped from it, I'm not at all surprised that the commies say one thing and do the opposite. They do that to their own people everyday. Only these pinkos in America think that talks and treaties mean something useful.

I have two solutions, one for the commies, and one for the American pinkos. To deal w/ the commies, we either wipe them out or starve them out. Don't go over there and fight, just nuke them out. Unfortunately, like cockroaches and cancer, somehow, they'll find a way to live on, most likely in the minds of our American university professors and champagne-limousine-liberals here in America. So, this leads to my second solution. For these mindless commie-wannabes, we should start a campaign to help them relocate to their paradise. I will be the first one to volunteer my money to put them on their way. First, rescind their American citizenship and take away their passports. Second, buy them a one-way ticket to a commie resort of their choice. Let's see how long they'll last in commie wonderland. At least there, we won't have to listen to their BS about global warming, veganism, and human rights on a daily basis. Let's see if hunger can overcome their concerns for animals or what the temperature will be in 1000 years. Heck, at least in commie resorts, the pinkos won't have to worry about eating meat, simply because there isn't any available. Oh, and global warming? Fuggetaboutit. TB, malaria, and pollution will consume the rest of their little brains.

I think this will work. But first, let's start by starving out the puffy-eyed Kim. Let's bring on some good ol' American gonads!!

Have great day!!!

The Buck Stops Over There Presidency
When are the Bush Administration (and its few remaining lackeys in the press) going to stop pointing fingers at Clinton and get on with doing something -- anything -- they say they are going to do? Why did Kim Jong Il test a nuclear weapon despite George Bush's stern warnings? Because everyone on planet Earth knows that nothing George Bush says means anything.
Mission Accomplished? Nope.
Weapons of Mass Destruction? Unh unh.
Rebuild New Orleans? What?
Hunt down Osama Bin Laden dead or alive? Who?
Now everything's Bill Clinton's fault? Give me a break. The Bush II Presidency is going to go down in history as the "It's not my fault! Administration."
Some leadership.

Susan Ostrich
IMHO, Estrich's book 'Soulless', meant to profit by mimicking Coulter's 'Godless', is headed for the 25 cent table in record time. Estrich, who sounds like Roop's partner Charlie in "Mad Max" after the throat operation, grace's the cover in such a manner that there should be a warning: 'not to be viewed immediately after eating'.

In order to dent the 'Coulter Mystique', the liberals are going to have to come with something more than Mad Magazine cover rip-off comic books.

Donalddd and MikeR
Donald, I don't recall Bush declaring pre-emptive war on any nation or combination of. I do recall a speach where he refered to some nations as members of an axis of evil and determined that we should deal with each in it's own turn, but no I don't recall any decleration of pre-emptive war. Would you rather we had invaded North Korea? Would you then be complaining about being bogged down in North Korea instead of taking care of Sadam?

MikeR, for someone who seems less than tolerant of sarcasm when used by the columnist you are certainly ready to level it at Goon and the Gunny. Nobody has accussed you all of being so stupid back then but you seem to be pretty dim right now. If you are honestly one of the greatest generation I can forgive you, but I think you are one of those born in the '70's to flower children and never had a clue. Yes you are that transparent, your kind always are.

History....it is a beautiful thing!
History is going to be a good read in the years to come....interesting how it will report the late 20th century leadership...I am fighting to keep my marbles just so I can do a final jumpin heel kick...GOD!..Please, keep me sane so I can tell the dems 'I told you so!'

Leroy
Offer the stick as apposed to the carrot! Or, offer the restraint of the stick.

Sandy......mom?
Ma'? Is that you? I heard you calling Ma' but we couldn't get to the cellar door before the storm hit.

Clinton's "Glow-job" and the Gory Show
Vis a vis Bill Clinton's "glow job" twin (for more on why he's a "glow-job", read on), Al Gore, I must relate a recent experience that made "fur a bi' o' foon fur me mates" at my VFW post yesterday.

Freshly rested and returned from our annual fishing trip up north (and untouched by the skeeters 'cause we'd remembered to take along our burqas this year!), my grad-student right-wing gun moll, Cendrine and I returned to Ann Arbor ready for the early fall sidewalk lotus and latte season and ready as well to engage "the people", i.e., the 1% of the 1% of the profanum vulgus in any college town that hangs round cafes and "red" bookstores handing out greasy radical broadsheets and occasionally getting up faineant streetcorner chants like "OM . . . Bush, fascist . . . OM . . . ".

Tired of being tired by all this, we left the rest to their ostentatiously-displayed foreign cigarettes and beret-induced existential trances when I suddenly said to C., C., let's go see a gory show or something, and C. said, OK, Jacques, mignon, there's one down the street at the Michigan (theatre)--Allons-y!

So C. and I went to see Al Gore's pan-planetary horror show (without candles or squirtguns, alas!)--interesting, you know, and little bit unsettling, for we were distracted just before the real neato global conflagration/inundation parts when a few waffling eco-soldiers broke ranks and ran out screaming, "RUN!, Global warming! Help us, sweet Nader! . . . Help!" And come to think of it, I noticed that Al's jet-set Bahamas man-tan couldn't fard over the waxy-fruit glow-job underneath. Too many doughnuts, Bozo, I mumbled to C., and she said, he's like Pancho, or Paunch-o, rather to Slick Willie's Cisco--my grandparents were watching the old re-runs on TV the other day. Anyway, sweetie, it's over, so Ay Pancho, Ay Ceesco, Let's Went!

We hustled out of the theatre after the show, heads down and smelling trouble, while outside an ugly mob swirled round, thirsting for Halliburton blood and armed with Chicken Li'l pamphlets, double lattes and organic smoothies vociferated threats of sidewalk teach-ins and petulant guitar/tambourine cacophanies.

Then C. and set in motion our plan--suddenly stepping forward with an improvised bullhorn fashioned on the spot from a discarded cotton-candy cornet, I shouted, Comrades! The time for talking is over! #%&*%!! The time for action is NOW! On les aura! We'll get 'em!--that dab of French was guaranteed (and calculated, I confess) to send a frisson of smugness through the spongy notochords of the Jean Francois Kerry rad-rabble (for he's whispered to have gotten through most of Le Petit Prince in the original) and Al Gore (who tells all within earshot that Stendhal's The Red and the Black is his favourite book--must be the Clintonian, "And when Julien left Madame de Renal's bedroom, he had no more for which to wish"--and then foghorns out a Gallic hog-call like "Zhe SOOwEE!--y'no, um fr'm Taynuhsay, b't m' hayarts n' Payris . . . Franss--ever since he earned his astounding "C" in high-school French class.

(Me again):
So, Let's roll, comrades! Down the street to the State (theatre)--we'll pack the matinee of Andy Garcia's The Lost City and cheer for Chay and Feedel!
YEAH! they wimp-roared. We strode mighty- mightily over the block to get there, threw down some crumpled bills (some of it hard-earned dollars made by badgering shoppers to sign petitions to help defeat the environment), took our tickets and made it just in time to pack the nearly-empty house. Then just before they darkened the lights C. winked at me and I announced casually but loudly that I'd get us our Ben n' Jerry's double-dioxin flavoured cones, and then I hustled to the lobby and slipped undetected into the manager's office to collect my dollar-a-butt bounty for each feathery backside the manager counted from the late receipts. Hmm--not bad this week, I said. Enough for C.'s and my B-B-Q rib dinner and red-state beer at my ol' VFW post, and some left over, too.

Next week, C.'s leading some leftie-lemming bake sale and political snake dance benefit for the forest trilia in Orygon--sounds like fun . . .and profit.

Cheers, jeers (to the left) and beers for my VFW mates,

Dr JA

MikeR - Substance Man! Substance!

The implication for Ann's use of "full-throated" is the Head of State was otherwise preoccupied with intern affairs when he should have been plugged in to world affairs.

Of course, we all manage what we're comfortable managing. Case in point: despite the substantive thrust of Ann's column, you were nonetheless attracted to and respomded to what you deemed to be juvenile; then you attack two of TH's more prolific posters (Gunny & Hockey Goon) with nonsensical schoolyard insinuations.

Care to discuss the substance of Ann's column?

Rich
I agree with you on the stick and carrot. Although traditionally the stick has been used only to hold the carrot, not as the club I believe you suggest. The problem is do we use the stick as a club and how?

As unhappy as Bejing is with Kim right now any military force going into North Korea would be like us sitting by and watching China invade Mexico (see: Korea circa 1951).

No, as appealing as the Big Stick approach is there is more to this reality than can be dealt with by force employed without at least involving the Chinese and preferably being accomplished completely by China.

North Korea is their dog, let them do the house training.

To MrPooh--thanks!
Thanks for your strong and jaunty post on the semi-literate, draft-dodging NYT-under-the-arm champagne hipster, "our" Bill. I did some time in Vietnam, and sir, I'm glad you came here. We'll send a few profscammers from Ivyworld over there to do the recon jobs next time.

Cheers,

Dr JA

How did you know?
MikeR writes: Hockey Goon:
Gee it’s too bad you weren’t there to fight in Korea. I know you would have won. We were all so stupid back then.
----------------------------------------------

I didn't fight in Korea but my dad spent two fun filled years there in 1951 and 1952. As a child I was told that my brothers and I would probably end up refighting the war that Truman made sure we didn't won. Looks like the old man missed it by a generation.

Mike R--do your time, my lad!
My daddy fought in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam--in the Navy; I rebelled and joined the army after my BA and fought in Vietnam. What's your father's honourable service got to do with your lack of it? Did he come back ok? Or not?

An idea, Mike R: on Nov. 11th, visit your closest Vet's hospital patients--that's what I and my VFW mates are going to do.

Thanks in advance,

Dr JA

So?
Donaldd writes: Hockey Goon
The $95 Million.
"...Bush did not certify that these conditions were met. Instead, he waived the conditions, determining that it was "vital to the national security interests of the United States" that the money was released..."

"...In the meantime, by releasing the US$95 million, the Bush administration hopes to encourage North Korea to begin full cooperation with the IAEA. The KEDO money is intended as a message that the U.S. is complying with the agreement, and North Korea should do so too. Shipments of fuel oil to North Korea can then continue in the meantime..."
------------------------------------------------

The KEDO was funded as agreed upon in the multinational agreement that the US and North Korea signed with several other Pacific nations. Not funding it would have violated the agreement and left North Korea with the ability to truthfully say that the US broke the agreement and they were no longer bound by it.

Funding KEDO is NOT the same as handing money over to North Korea. KEDO is based in New York and has several nations that are supposed to ensure North Korean compliance. In order for KEDO to transfer the funds over to North Korea the obligations set fourth in the treaty had to be met - which North Korea failed to do. The 95 million never made it to North Korean and oil shipments were cut off in 2002.

Leroy and Steve O
It seems that the US does have a bargaining chip. I developed this plan by watching too much Fox News and reading one too many issues of People Magazine. What Kim Jong Ill wants more than anything for his country is a great film industry and what we have in the US is a plethora of stars who are constantly talking about the correct way to run the country and how to negotiate a peaceful outcome to every problem. So we send George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and Sean Penn to North Korea for one year to make films if they stop with their nuclear program. We could even throw in Alec Baldwin and Babs for good measure. I am certain that these stars would go along with it. After they finish making Ocean’s Fourteen and are at Caan’s celebrating with Mr. Ill, we can go in and dismantle their nuclear reactors. I think that this is a win/win situation.

Good column Ann. I can't wait to see you with Susan!

Animal House
Can't you just hear Kim John Il(Bluto played by John Belushi in the movie) tell Flounder(Clinton/Albright in real life) "You trusted me. You f'd up." after they wrecked Flounder's brother's car. That's the level of sophistication the Clintonistas had. And to think Jimmy Carter had a role in this even makes it more precious. Why would anyone listen to the worst President ever who became--after a good start with Habitat for Humanity--the worst ex-president ever and who will become the worst dead president ever, even worse than the guy who joined the Confederacy. Why would the smartest woman in the world even bring it up and John McCain a chance to make her look silly and dishonest. Again, Madelyn Albright is on record as saying they got fooled.

Cube H E double hockey sticks
Great column-as usual!
My boss SO wants to ask me what I'm laughing about.
Of course, I chance getting fired; here in San Francisco, the name Ann Coulter is right up there with SUVs, guns and Hitler.

Townhallers....good posts!

re the subject line,
TH now has an "unacceptable words" filter-
some of us are doomed...r0_d2

tsk...Kim, you'r dominatrix comments..
your comments are getting lower and lower...the sign of desperation and the smell of flop sweat!
Such a pity!

Ann's Poison
Oh good gosh -- more poison from Ann and more
"delightful" trash talk from the "far righteous!"
Let's sum it up -- 6 years of our Brave Commander
shredding the Constitution, along with his dutiful Republican robots in Congress, and right-leaning Court, and just look what we have -- a major mess! Others like All American Liberal have already summarized his dubious "accomplishments" -- and by the way, what about the 6 years that Bush could have done something about North Korea? No, it's much easier for the party once known for "personal responsibility" to blame every one else. It's almost becoming cartoonish! Throw the corrupt bums out and start fresh -- and if the Dems mess up, throw them out also. We can help by regeistering as Independents and holding these power hungry public "servants" accountable for their incompetence!!

The Blame Game...spins on and on
Seems that there was no 'blaming' anyone when all this started.....the democrats realy need to look to their own as far as the blame game is concerned. What is, IS...let's talk about how the former admin took 'stand' with the fist WTC bombing, the Kobart Towers Bombing, The S.S. COle Bombing...DIdn't we hear, ad nauseaum, that 'her' was going to get person or persons responsible? I did not hear one word, till recently, about who was responsible for what. The dems protest far too much with this blame thing...and history is about to be told....I personally do not like to have any former prez responsible for what has happened...but the facts are there...SPIN all you want and cry and babble about it too...the fact are what they are!

tannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnabare
where are you ? is it true that you ran away with tedddddddybare ? watch out for bridges .

Clinton's Blow Jobs
First,Bill Clinton Helped America Stay Energy Dependent on the Middle East and OPEC.

1.Clinton vetoed legislation passed by Congress in 1998 which would have authorized limited drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge.(It is currently our largest known domestic oil and gas deposit/reserve).His reasoning:
"We Don't Need it",and besides,"It would take 10 years to get it fully developed and into production anyway".

Follow the money:Environmentalists and King Fisal.Possible Big payoff to Bill.

2.President Bill Clinton empowered North Korea by bribing(giving)them two operable nuclear reactors and $5Billion.He also removed weapons inspectors.

3.Bill Clinton also allowed top secret missile data to be downloaded by the Chinese from our government research lab in Los Alamos,New Mexico.(Again, more dinero por senor Clinton).

4.Reportedly,active U.S.Federal government involvement in major U.S.stock market indexes(S&P 500)through back door purchases of stock index shares by the millions to help juice the market and moderate the corrections which did occur.(Dec.1996-1997)
Possible Strategy: Bribe the middle class and maintain continuing popularity in the face of developing scandels (Whitewater and Monica).

5.Help set America up as victums of Al Queda terrorists:

As Mike Wallace reported on Fox News:Bill Clinton took no meaningful action to attempt to stop Bin Ladin or disrupt his known training operations in Afganistan and elsewhere, aside from firing some cruise missles at a pharmaceutical plant in the Sudan.

new mom, too cruel
George Noclueney, Babbling Babbs, Sean Penny, et al? You would wish those ambassadors of good will, diplomacy and tact on another people? Are you truely that heartless? Smite them with the Black Plague, burn their crops and villages anything would be more humane than what you suggest.

Oh the horrors.

snipehunter
tannabear is out gathering evidence on that latest cruise missle GW fired at NYC yesterday. Have no fear I am confident that by the morrow conspiracy theories will once again grace these pages.

Kimberly - Moonbat Guano

I would recommend substance to you, as I did MikeR but that would mean you would have to stop posting. Where would the fun be in that?

BTW -- Are you dieting? Your last guano dropping was rather anemic.

Leroy & Cutter Bench
Leroy, what I don’t like is name calling. This often happens at townhall and I find it both juvenile and counterproductive. As to sarcasm, I apply that liberally but never slanderously. For example, Ann’s point that Clinton mishandled North Korea is well founded but she buries it in school yard insults that demean the entire subject.

The comments to Goon and Lifer are another matter. These two and some others make a point of militant and aggressive comments, which in itself are fine. But to have the unmitigating gull to claim that that they could have done better in Korea and prevented the Cold war is ridiculous. Yet since I’m the only one with the courage to confront such egoism, I received many comment from crowd followers. Another school yard trait.

As for me, I’m not from the 70’s; I’m worse. When I left the Army in ’65, I almost became a monk but settled on missionary work as my faith was not strong enough for so great a devotion to God. I guess that makes me some kind of a hippie to you.

NRALifer:
Of course FDR made mistakes. I know of no perfect president or person. His concessions and dealings with the Soviets were because we were unable to sustain a military option amongst many other problems. You may have been a soldier, but there is nothing more ridiculous than being an armchair president. In my day, we call that big talk, another schoolyard trait. When some one tells me that a stove is hot yet I detect no emanation of heat, I investigate it carefully and decide for myself. BTW, FDR’s depression lengthening actions helped saved this country from the only true communist and socialist threat it ever faced. But I forget, you know it all.

jacques albert:
What complete arrogance. You think I’ll lay out a litany of my family’s history? That I disagree with some member’s of Sgt. Rock’s Easy co. does not mean that I have no inkling of what I’m talking about. I’ve a suggestion for you…. my lad. Try humility in your endeavors. Then perhaps you can do something other than follow the pack or do you believe that these guys’ experiences were harder then your time in Nam.

So, I’ll admit that I did not like the Army and was not a good soldier. But I’ll be dammed if I'll stand by while some young person talks like he possesses knowledge unique to his age.

Correcting the Problem w/ North Korea
Take a page from a chapter in Machiavelli book "The Prince" called "Agastacles the Sicilian".

Agastacles was the Roman governor of a small town in Sicily.(Possibly Palermo). In fact,he could have been the father of the modern day Mafia, judging by his actions.

One day,he had ambitions invited the town council to a special meeting and feast. He concealed and positioned his soldiers behind the columns surrounding the banquet table.(Deception).The soldiers drew their short swords at the que of their commander and murdered the entire council, leaving Agastacles alone in control of the town.

We could change our nation's strategy in dealing with Kim.Begin to cater to Kim Ill Jung's interests and amusements.Humor him.Appeal to his self-interest.We could send the right gifts at the right time.

Eventually, invite him on weekend retreats on a cruise ship.Visit Thialand, where like minded folks are in charge following their recent coup.In fact, make Kim believe he owns the ship.

One day, while Kim Ill JUNG is enjoying himself and therefore has his guard down, kill him.(Just like Agastacles)Secretly dispose of his body and claim to know nothing.Publicly express sorrow and dismay.Order a full investigation.Study and publish the results.Problem solved.

Blame it on the Chinese,the Russians,Bin Ladin,the CIA,or the Democrats.Find a puppet to replace him.Mission accomplished.

Wicked humor second only to...
... her brilliance.

As a Christian, it is a deeply guilty pleasure to hear her slash and skewer every liberal opponent, but my greatest frustration in witnessing it is when the same misses her dead-on, factually substantiated points because they are left dizzy, in a vain attempt to catch up with her. I am quite certain that Alan Colmes, for example, doesn't even try; he just sits tight until her lips stop moving so he can ask the next inane "follow-up," left redundant because he hasn't been listening -- or thinking.

My secret wish is that she would slow down, skip the witticisms, and walk them through the logic of the truth. But better that liberals would read her columns and think on the issues rather than towing the party line to their-- and our -- detriment.

Dem negotiators
No wonder unions vote democrap almost exclusively. They have known for years the negotiation skills of demoflatuents.

Negotiation, by definition, seeks something for both sides. Dimmocrats think negotiation means "giveaway".

jerubaal,
"Darth Rove will not be pleased."

I just got a call; he's threatening to send me to the North East for hard labor.

Good afternoon, all
Well, I missed Kimberly's post. And, I was prepared for her. Oh well.

Steve O, you're wasting your time. They never have any positive "specifics" to contribute. I'm still waiting for Kimberly to provide the list of 80 Congresspeople who "junketed" to the Mariana Islands (or is it Mariara....can't remember).

Leroy, all "little" (no double meaning intended, I'm really referring to short) men have the same problem, crave respect and recognition. Just read a little history.

dbz77, your suggestion sounds rather sensible. Would there by any way we could also add "video movies" to your list? Don't know how that could be implemented, but just a thought.

The more I read, the more my hairs stand on end at the thought of Hillary as president.

Brian,
"Your 'guano' line is tired. Try a new one."

I'm with Kimberly... Wait! What's happening? The world is changing. I'm changing. Everything's so clear now. Clinton no longer has the shape of a mere man. How could I have ever thought that. He's grown into a very god. Everything even tinged by the taint of Republicans looks blacker than the blackest night. Everything that has felt the loving touch of a Democrat glows with an internal light. It's so beautiful. And, yet, I have the need to tell everyone that there is nothing black and white, only grey. I'm so confused. Everything is spinning. Spin. Spin. Spin. I feel like projecting onto someone. And then accuse them of projecting. The television set is calling me. I have an overwhelming urge to watch Olbermann. I can feel the saliva welling up in my mouth, drool trickling out of the corners. I... I... Must scream. Yeeaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgh!

Whoah! I'll never try that again.
Brian, use the "guano" line all you want.

Like nails on a chalk board
Kimberly writes: With her hateful, gutter-sniping rhetoric aimed at anyone with a brain and an opinion that doesn't mimic her own, Ann is fair game as far as I'm concerned. So are the bastions of spike-healed bootlickers on this site that seem to find her intense hatred so appealing.

The mirror image not reversed?

Kimberly writes at 11:12 AM:

"Bill Clinton had the N. Koreans hemmed in, it's a fact."....

Kimmy... I know you have deadlines to meet on these vaious TH comment sections... but whomever fed you that gem of a line to type in here needs to be fired! I've read a number of "your" posts, and not even YOU are that ignorant of the facts to think anyone here is buying that one.

Clinton's performance as president, his "rock star" status, his sexcapades, and the depths people like you have to go to defend his "legacy" reminds me of a 2006 version of an old T.V. commercial:

"Hi. I'm Bill Clinton. I'm not really the President..., but I play one on T.V."

Kimberly
Re: Your post to Cutter Bench.
Do us all a favor, and define 'YOUR' substance. What are you made of? What is it that makes you a great American patriot, and the rest of us sucks? We don't want to hear any Liberal talking points! We want to know you as a person and an American.

Is it possible that you can speak to the rest of us as though we were friends? All in the same boat?... I'll just leave it at that. I'm positive, we'd all like to hear your response.

Earth to Kimberly
Sweetie, that's not hate towards liberals that you see from Ann. It's contempt!

Kimberly
Several days ago, you were ranting about Delay's junket to the Mariana Islands and posted two links. I went in and read them.

Right Leaning Court?
Ok Joyce,

Did you actually say right-leaning court? I hope you were refering to some unfortunately landscaped tennis court, because since the 1950's the US Supreme Court has shamelessly usurped its power for leftist agendas. You would be the first person I have actually have heard try to legitimitally try to claim otherwise. They have taken over school systems, prisons, private secter hiring and firing practices, and farm quotas; they have ordered local governments to raise property taxes and states to grant benefits to illegal immigrants; they have expelled God , prayer, and the 10 Commandments from the public square; they've endorsed severe limits on political speech; and they've protected virtual child pornography, racial discrimination in law school admissions, flag burning, the seizure of private property without just compensation, and partial-birth abortion. They've announced that morality alone is an insufficient basis for legislation. Courts now second-guess the commander in chief in time of war and confer due process rights on foreign enemy combatants. Tey intervene inthe electoral process. These are just a few of the policies they now sit in final judgement on which is in complete disregard to their constitutional limitations, and in opposition to conservative views. I have yet to get started on the Warren courts vast destruction of the legal system, and its impact on the rights of victims vs. criminals. None of these are are right wing view, and All of them all liberl views. So explain to me how, in any possible twisted version of history, this can be shown to be right-leaning?

I substitute teach occasionally
and lots of the students are like Kim. They say outrageous things to get attention--completely off subject. It's never in the Honors or AP courses. Always from the ones who struggle grasping simple ideas.

MikeR
If you think my remarks to you were a fashion of crowd following you are seriously mistaken. My taking you to task regarding your remarks to Goon and the Gunny were simply pointing out what would appear a double standard on your part.

For myself I readily admit there is little else, politically, I would like than to be able to become part of what was once the Dixiecrat party, not the George Wallace wing but the faction once occupied by my grandfathers, uncles and father. There was once that party which told the government to give us help when needed and at all other times leave us alone. Many people blame LBJ for the initial down fall, I don't believe he realized the nightmare his Great Society would wrought, Mr. McGovern and his wrecking crew completed the dismantling of that party. So now where else to go? It humors me to identify the people here that fit the Old Guard style of Democrats more than they know.

You do not fault Miss Coulter for her substance but rather her style but it is this style which makes her so entertaining. The proof of that is in the number of responses her columns continue to draw. Many others can post on the same topics and taken all together the responses are never equal to hers. She is no more caustic than those representing the far left, normally less so and always better written.

"Drive-By-Kim" writes to me....

"Support your claim, then genius, otherwise, you've got nothing besides empty postulating."

Awwww, Kimmy.... looking into that mirror again?

All you've done since you arrived here today has been nothing short of "empty postulating"!

I'm with Goshawk, Kimmy. Tell us your story! At least tell us... are you over 30 years old yet? And be honest now....

Oops...

... it seems Kimmy and I were posting at the same time.

But I do have another question. You wrote:

"b. There are those who DO those things that are truly patriotic - like question failed policies, corrupt leaders, and protest wars that were waged with lies and fearmongering. In other words, me."

You mean to say you protested our intervention into Bosnia and Kosovo?

Hang in there Kimberly
You're taking a beating, but you're still standing. Keep your right up....your left is hurting your balance!
(I just saw a boxing movie-the one with Clint Eastwood- and you remind me of that girl---
Always protect yourself!)

Kimberly – Substance…

something you apparently refuse to abuse.

Keep dropping guano Kimmy, your posts do more to galvanize conservatives than a Hannity Freedom Concert.

Have you figured out what Ann’s column is about? It’s about the failings of your hero, Bubba Clinton; how he kicked the can down the road and left the grownups to clean up after him.

God Bless President Bush and the other grown ups trying to secure our future!

iloveit,me

..."your left is hurting your balance!"

ROTFLMAO! That was great!

It would appear Kimmy is off to another column or is writing an essay for us.

However, IF she comments, I predict she'll tell us that it is "none of our d*mned business" how old she is... and she'll defend Bosnia/Kosovo.

Kimberly
So you bought one whole bumper sticker? And now relegate yourself to criticism and protest. Yeah, that's gonna make the troops just love you.

Did you ever shake one of their hands? Buy him a beer? Talk to one, I mean really talk to one other than Bush Lied yak yak yak...? Pickup a restaurant tab for someone in uniform? Send any Care Packages with Pogey Bait (ask somebody what that is), magazines, newspapers, fresh socks (oh man, oh man for dry socks), maybe even drop a short letter in it (hint: leave out politics regardless how you lean, believe me the troops ain't interested) and maybe a picture or two not the girlie kind but just everyday stuff like your car or pet dog, ever do that? Even just a quick smile and nod, they appreciate that. Pay a visit to a military hospital and visit with some of the recovering without blaming their plight on George Bush? Or maybe on 11 November you could pay a visit to a National Cemetary in your area, I've found that's one that will give a person perspective.

Or you can polish your bumper sticker and keep complaining.

Leroy...

Thanks for your excellent above comments, no matter who they were directed toward.

And thanks for reminding me of some other things I could be doing to support our fine, brave men and women in uniform.

Again, thank you.

So using your "premise"
Tom Delay and Denny Hastert (and Republican's in Congress as rubberstampers) would be worse than Amish shooters as well, right?

Because, Tom DeLay, through his good buddy Abramoff, willfully and knowingly blocked legislation that would have protected women on the Northern Mariana Islands from near slave labor, being sold into prostitution and forced to have abortions - all on US soil. Why would these men do this? Money and power, of course. Family values at work in the Republican-controlled Congress.

AND, this happened with Hastert's help - he was paid over $20,000 for his part in killing legislation to end the abuse.

Read for yourself,

Transcript #2

It's in Transcrpt 2:
BRIAN ROSS: And DeLay is just one of more than 80 influential congressmen and congressional staff members who have been brought out to Saipan, most put up, as was DeLay, at the beachfront Hyatt Regency. About as far from the island sweatshops as it is possible to get on Saipan.

Kimberly, if you are not going to read the links you post, don't expect anyone else to do so. I certainly will not be reading any more.

Kimberly
Thank you for responding to my post. However, You don't fully explain why *you are what you are.* In other words, your 'substance.' You know, a pumper sticker is commendable, if you truly support the troops. But your comment goes on to assume that I am 'just another conservative,' or whatever.

You ask me.. "where is my yellow ribbon?" Well, honestly, I don't have one. The only things I can show in the form of ribbons is three Purple Hearts and a Silver Star earned in Korea.

You then say..."There are those who trumpet patriotism, wave flags and place yellow ribbons on their SUV's, spout patriotic fluff about war, but refuse to serve themselves. Period. In other words, you."....... Me???

You see what I mean Kimberly? You paint an unknown. (Me) with this broad Liberal brush. Can you not see what you are doing to people like me, who have left our blood on the lines for the Freedom that you now use against me? Never in my wildest dreams did I think, while in combat, my own people would turn against me.

Kimberly you say, there are those that "DO." Inferring that there are those that don't. I'll tell you first hand Kimberly. I would not change a thing I've done to fight for America and it's Freedom.

I've put my life on the line several times. Now, what have you done Kimberly? Besides talk on these forumns or place a pumper sticker? If your going to respond to me, I want truth! Not the Liberal agenda. Tell me why you think the way you do. I'm serious Kimberly! I will even give you my e-mail address to respond in private. I really want to know what your made of.

Jerubaal: I just saw your 11:18PM Post
frome Wednesday.

LOL!

Absolutely right.

How'd you get away with writing that? If I'd written it, it would have been yanked and I'd be back trudging around Siberia.

You have Josue's address, and send him bribes, right?

NRALifer: Yeah Drop-Trou looted...
... the White House. Of all the "W" keys on the typewriters.

He's a small-time punk even as a thief.

Kimberly, you're at it again.
At no time in the interview you linked, did Brian Ross say that DeLay was a "regular". In fact, it appears to me that Abramoff is the villian here, not DeLay.
"And it was Abramoff then who shepherded him around the island, made sure he would see what he wanted him to see. And DeLay took his family along."

Now, as to your $20.000 that DeLay paid Hastert (and I quote)
"What's more, Hastert was paid something like $20K from DeLay to help block that legislation. Congressman George Miller is trying to get an investigation into this matter and I hope it goes through, but 'absolute power' and all that makes it difficult."

I read somewhere (and, no, Kimberly, I'm not going to try to find where I read it) that the governor of the island had donated $20.000 to Hastert's campaign fund. However, that's not what you stated. Your statement implies that DeLay bribed Hastert with $20.000.

Kimberly, if you expect for people to take you seriously and perhaps "be converted", you really need to stick to the facts.

gregdn: Re your 9:59 post
Maybe Drop-Trou's still getting blamed because he and his consorts caused all the problems we're having. After all, the glorious Left idolizes the guy (a sterling example of Bad Taste) and still throw roadblocks between our country and greatness.

But, hey, no big deal, right?

I've had a few of those myself lately, usually after a protracted thread with the Duck.

Goshawk
Thank You!!!
For your service.
It is a honor to have you here amongst us.

Goshawk:
I am truly impressed with your awards, my friend.

Kimberly
Ok, And thanks! I hope that when you do come back, the Liberal talking points are left behind. And you respond with the True You.

Kimberly
But, Kimberly, I thought you LIKED providing lists. So sorry, I should have known better. Mia culpa, mia culpa, mia culpa.

Here is something to ponder
Why is it the left is so against neuclear power/generation for us here in the U.S.
Yet'they gave North Korea two reactors.

Why did'nt he give them something as non lethal as say Wind Power or Solar or Hydro Generators.

Personally I know for a fact the latter are pipe dreams of the left.
They just don't work as well as neuclear.

I should know' I 've been selling Solar and all related products for twenty years.
So why are they being foisted on the rest of us.

Goshawk
I was going to write something similar to Kimberly.
I think you and I are on the same page.
She has the makings of a conservative, she has just been deeply indoctrinated, yet she has a brain and sometimes listens.
There may be hope,ya think?

Kimberly
I have to agree with you about one thing. You refer to it as "Dumpster Diving." And I have to agree with that . Even though I consider myself a conservative (independent not a Republican per se') I get sick of both sides dealing in trash. You know, the endless battle of who's wrong etc..

LOL, Ok, tell me,when you come back, what life you saved, and how you went about it. I'm not laughing at *you*Kimberly. I'm laughing at the 'thought.' In other words, when I go about my normal life. I don't think, "I'm going to save a life today." And there has been occasions where I did save a life. But it was not because I thought *this is what I must do* I simply responded to the situation.

Goshawk
I wish you luck - it's been my experience that it's not worth the effort dealing with kim types - they've been thoroughly brainwashed by the educational sytem and duped into believing they are in possession of eternal truths. Their whole belief system is based on emotion - it makes them feel good.

You may be able to produce some attitudinal movement because you have some background - normally the libs shun the military types just as Stalin imprisoned any who came in contact with westerners in a way your might deal with carriers of smallpox.

The Socratic method tends to work simple one is led to conclusions that tend to conflict with the lib belief system - some just dismiss facts as irrelevant and rationalize away inconsistencies. Having to admit things to another is part of the process to weaken the facade. It can be breached with patience and resolve - you have balance theory and cognitive dissonance on your side.

I will avoid characterizing kim as many here have - just let me say that I wish you success - this kim inspired bickering here is distracting, of no deliberative value and just wasteful of one's time to read and space taken up here.

Let me also add that I commend you for your Korean service.

Primus54
Primus, What does ROTFLMAO mean? The "disingeneous" side of my brain is taking over or is it the "lame-brain" side?

Well, I've been called "disingenuous" and "lame-brained" in the two weeks I've been on this site. Batting 400, I am. (I assume that's good. I'm a soccer fan.)

solar
I agree with what your saying about Kimberly. I think she may have the intelectual capacity. But the indoctrination must be broken. Vets will know how hard it is to 'undo' brainwashing.

Re: Solar Energy etc. I'm a retired Electical Engineer with extensive knowledge of Solar, Wind and other "alternitive sources." If you care to corespond, my e-mail address is rg2k1@sbcglobal.net. I'm also a computer programmer and know I shouldn't post my e-mail I.D. But ask me if I care. Ha ha, I can easily wipe out a computer that responds. Should I find it's an attack.

I would be glad to share.
It would be a pleasure to drop you an email in a moment.

Kimbery?
Liberals are lifesavers? I guess that’s true if you are a convicted murderer on death row. I’ve always felt that if you called it “the state’s right to choose an extremely late term abortion” more liberals would stand behind the death penalty

conman
I appreciate your input and I thank you for the compliment. However, I think my earlier post, dealing with Kimberly, may have been misunderstood. I have no intentions of trying to change Kimberly's thinking. I was just issuing a challenge to be truthful. But as we all know, that's impossible for a Liberal.

BrianR, solar
I thank you for your acknowledgment of service, and Brian, you know as well as I do. That we just do what we must. No need to be impressed, I was only one of many that deserve same. In fact, when the Star was awarded, I balked an told HQ that others in the same operation deserved it. Not me. They saw it differently. Oh well.. I'm not trying to make lite of my military awards, I just want it to be known that I'm an ordinary man that did at the time what I thought was right. The Purple Hearts? Just a case of looking, when I should have been ducking. Three times! Is that dumb or what!

Goshawk
Like a true conservative you wear them well.
I just got your email, will talk soon.
Hey if you've never read BrianR TH page give it a look, quite insightful.
Heck all should take a look!

KIMBERLY, GOSHAWK, AND GREGDN
Kimberly writes:
"There are those who DO those things that are truly patriotic - like question failed policies, corrupt leaders, and protest wars that were waged with lies and fearmongering. In other words, me."

Isn't that sedetion in time of war? Goshawk, thank you for your service...you're a great American. Gregdn, the reason Clinton continues to be blamed is because the eggs came home to roost under Bush's administration. The fallout will continue for years to come.

Let Me see
If I have the democrat talking points straight here. Clinton gives a fellow sociopath a gun, a reloader, and the components to assemble the ammunition, then when he fires the gun, its bushs fault?

colorfulbeachpersonality,
Correction. It's BushHitler's fault.

Gratefull American
You've got it right! I like how you placed 'me' in place of 'you' to Kimberly's post. And oh so true.

And I thank you for the compliment, I just did what I thought was right to defend my country.

Solar
Thank you.

Goshawk...

... my sincerest of gratitude for your service and sacrifice to protect the liberties and lives of this great nation.

And who knows, Kimberly may yet surprise us all. If she really is the author of her own words, she could prove to be an asset to the conservative movement should she convert from the "dark side". (Yes, Kim... that is just humor...) :-)

solar
I monitor BrianR's blogs at all times! He is one of the best of insightful writers that have a blog on town hall. But I emphasize,
*one* of the best. There are so many conservatives with blogs and all excellent, I can't, well...don't want to list them here. We of Townhall know who they are.

BTW, I have to monitor BrianR to keep him on the right path! Ha ha ha ha ha... oh me...

Grateful American
Very well said, and you too are a very clear thinker.

Conman
"just let me say that I wish you success - this kim inspired bickering here is distracting, of no deliberative value and just wasteful of one's time to read and space taken up here."

Conman, you are absolutely right. I have been guilty of this sin today. Kimberly comes out with some pretty slanerous things and, since she gave links, I decided to read them to see where her comments were coming from. Well, I found that she was distorting, imbellishing on and, in other cases, misconstruing what she was linking to. As an exmaple: "And it was Abramoff then who shepherded him around the island, made sure he would see what he wanted him to see. And DeLay took his family along." This became "he was a 'regular'. She also totally disregarded "(Abramoff) made sure he (DeLay) would see what he wanted him to see." part of the article.

This is dishonest and, in my opinion, is an attempt to deceive = lying.

Having said all this, I'm completely aware that these types of discussions with her are simply a waste of time and,in your words "just wasteful of one's time to read". So, in the future I will just let her rant to her hearts content.

La Reina Picara
You are on the ball!
I was reading your posts, and if I had one employee like you I could have retired sooner.
If you are not in buss. for yourself already, well you should be.
Keep it I'll be reading.

Grateful American
You picked a good kim quote, and it underscores what is really demented about liberals. Somehow they have deluded themselves and large segments of this nation's incredibly misguided population that raucous, mindless dissent in time of war is 'patriotic'.

How bad does it have to get for them to realize that is doesn't matter now how we got here; that the question is: are we resolved enough to surmount the challenge or will we succumb to it.

How much dissent do you think they now allow in China - or would allow should they go to war; how much in Putin's Russia (take a look at how many media critics have been murdered during his reign); how about in Iraq under Hussein; how about in Iran under the Mullahs; how about in N. Korea; or in Chavez's Venezuela. In each case, the dissenter is quickly evaluated for what use he may have left and if nothing, HE IS DEAD. The despots and dictators don't tolerate dissent!

The left keeps preaching that radical Islamism is not to be taken seriously - until when? A nuke goes off in a major city...two...or three - and this sheepish, overly fed population is stampeded into base survival.

What is kim going to do in the event we are overcome - look for somebody to surrender to? Kim needs to be informed: They don't take prisoners - you are either a slave or you are killed. Of course, many of the intellectual dissenters will find comfort under such circumstances because they've been with our adversaries and thus our enemy all along.

Dissent is a PRIVELEDGE in times of peace (fought for and preserved through the service of our soldiers). It is seditious and traitorous in times of war. IT IS NOT PATRIOTIC.

Goshawk
For what it's worth I just started with Town Hall,I've been reading the articles for a couple of years though.
I finally started posting a few weeks ago due to Kimberly and a couple of real Morons,so most of this is new for me.
Actually I'm surprized I did'nt get kicked out early on,for I got pretty heated.
But you know as a conservative,we have a constitution...need I say more.

Primus54
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the acknowledgment of my military service. Many times we vets wonder.. was the sacrifice worth it? And as the years go by, and we see what's happening to our country. Would we jump in again? You damnn right we would! America is the best country in the world! And I will fight to the death for her existence!

Re: Kimberly, I agree with your comment. She is not a stupid person. If only she could re-direct her thoughts to the well being of our country. As opposed to the Liberal propaganda.

Solar, Goshawk
Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Solar, a few weeks ago, when I was wandering the wilds of Siberia (which means I got kicked off the site for something I wrote), Goshawk was giving me C-rats and sterno until I was rescued.

BTW: fre Kimberly - my thoughts
Goshawk, she does think her thoughts are directed to the well-being of the country. I will give that to the other side; for the most part I believe they're sincere in their beliefs (obviously, I exclude the pols from this statement).

The crux of the issue is what I've always maintained is the biggest failing of liberalism: they see the world as they'd like it to be, not as it really is. Liberalism is based on feelings, conservatism is based on intellect.

solar
I'm glad you found Townhall, and hope you stick with us. When I say "us" I mean the conservatives that truly care about Americas
well being. On this site, we attempt to communicate with one another across the nation.

We , of course, are constantly invaded by Liberal posters. Their only purpose being to interrupt the flow of conservative thought while trying to convince you, their way is the right way.

Instead of supplying constructive ideas to help our Republic. They do everything imaginable to tear it down. You want to talk about stupid! These Liberals sh*t in their own nest!

Siberia
I would have found my banishment longer and more painful were it not for support from posters. Probably don't know them all, but thank you Brian and cynewulf. Has Skip been banished? I haven't seen anything out of Montana lately.

BrianR
Your exactly right when you say that Kimberly, and other Liberals. Really think that their way is the best way. But as you, I and all conservatives know. That way is Socialism! Communism pure and simple! Any American accepting the Liberal doctrine, is bowing down and giving in to Nazi type rule. No way will I allow that to happen, and I will give my life to prevent it!

Pistol,
you're quite welcome. I haven't seen Skip either.

Maybe Skip skipped?
Sorry, couldn't pass it up.

Goshawk,
let me be a copy cat and thank you for your service to our country. While I'm at it, thanks to Brian and Pistol as well. You guys are the best.

Pistol
Don't mention it. I remember that it does help when you know your buds have a search party out there looking for you.

Thanks, Cyne
Kind words.

Speaking of vets, anyone seen Celt recently?

Brian, lately it seems
that Celt has only been dropping the odd post here or there except when the topic is homosexuals or radical Christians. I'm a bit worried about her. She doesn't seem to be having fun on here anymore, and she hasn't posted on her blog since August. I think the last posts I saw of hers were on Thursday's Medved column.

Cynewulf
I accept and appreciate your acknowledgment. Thanks for caring about America!

BrianR, Cyne
I'm of the same mind. Celt hasn't been doing anything lately on Townhall that I can see. I hope that she has not given up. If so, I will miss her input.

Goshawk – Kimberly:

First, thank you for your military service and secondly, thank you for some clarity in the midst of the previously ongoing fracas.

Inasmuch as Kimberly treats conservatives with total disrespect and has had an inclination for tossing grenades and then disappearing, at that, for hours at a time, I’ve told myself that I would just ignore her posts. Nonetheless, I felt the need to respond after she posted her Coulter as man reference earlier in the day – a post which it appears has since disappeared.

On the other hand, your asking her about her substance, made me think of her, less as a Moonbat and more as a person. Apart from her cut-and-paste antics and incessant use of liberal talking points, she does display intelligence and a command of the English language. Her fierce loyalty to Bill Clinton however, is disturbing. Yet, if you could cut through her liberalism, she’s someone you probably would want as a friend.

Your further inquiring of her, ‘Is it possible that you can speak to the rest of us as though we were friends? All in the same boat?... I'll just leave it at that. I'm positive, we'd all like to hear your response.’ made me realize that we don’t know very much about Kimberly. And I get tired of the name-calling too, but admittedly, have not shown much aversion to responding in-kind.

Regardless of the words I have exchanged with posters on TH, I have (as a rule) made a point of saying a prayer for anyone that I have dialogued with. Kimberly is no exception to that rule. I wish you well in your endeavors.

Clinton did it !!!
What a crock from all these Repugs. We are up to our heiny in alligators in a failed invasion of Iraq. New Orleans is Hiroshima revisited.Tom Delay,Ney and Foley are holding up the front on the GOP's facade of hypocrisy. You people bringing back old" brown nose" Ken Starr to re-open the Whitewater case ? Let's get Monica propped up again too.Desperate times need desperate measures and you only have four weeks !!

ordinaire writes:

"Desperate times need desperate measures and you only have four weeks !!"

We'll see.....

Oh... and Kim?

Didn't see that promised post about who you are and why you believe the way you do.

Too bad. I really don't think we were trying to set you up. Some generous things have been said about you here (toward the end of the day).

Maybe next time.

To Mike R--thanks! (encore)
I'm sorry to have lost the longer post (peccato!) I wrote earlier to you, sir, but I do thank you for your military service in as much as it was efficacious for preserving this country and its institutions from danger, though this service have been reluctantly yielded up, according to your last post. And when I spoke of you as "lad", I meant no dimunition by the word, but only cameraderie for a fellow war (?) vet or "mate" in the Aussie sense. And sir, let me say, I expect no dimunition from you in return on this score. I only referred to your family because I know that wounds and disabilities affect judgements, political or otherwise, as I know from my deceased father's case and my own. I was fortunate to have only spent six weeks recovering in hospital. Others, sir, as you know, were not so fortunate, and I hope that you and members of your family were not among the latter.

Nevertheless, on your political commentary I have grave doubts about its incisiveness and cogency. To imply that my views derive from the "pack", as you vulgarly call it, couldn't be further from the truth--unless, sir, you are prepared to direct me to the "herd" of unreflective professors of literature and languages who voluntarily (I was first classified 4-F) served in the Vietnam war at the height of the conflict--it was my (call it quixotic, if you wish) protest against the cowardly college rabble (including such luminaries as a future president, a mon avis) of the 60s and early 70s who opposed the war by masquerading as "idealists" or "anti-imperialists" or some other such undeserved and self-inflated title. And where, sir, is the herd of college profs who'd have supported Franco in the Spanish Civil War (I'll raise my glass tonight at the VFW to deliver my occasional "Viva muerte!" to the Church and Army and defenders of royalist Spain)? Odi profanus vulgus et arceo . . .

My suggestion stands as delivered, for our ailing vets need all the encouragement and fellow-feeling from their comrades like me and
yourself--sir!

Felicitations et nous ne nous souvenez jamais que vous etiez soldat, monsieur!

Dr JA

correction of typo above
read, of course: "profanum vulgus" (my apologies to another soldier-author, the Roman poet Horace)

and to a lesser extent, Leroy:

I am nothing if not consistent, and I cannot back down from my comments about Goon and Lifer. No one likes to be called part of crowd or a follower but unless you call yourself out, then you are one. If you believe that Hockey Goon could have won the Korean War and /or NRAlifer would have defeated the Soviets thus preventing the cold war then say so. If you believe that the big talk of younger people is annoying, then say so. To say nothing is to follow the crowd.

Finally Jacques, don’t equivocate. The phrase, “do you your time…..my lad” cannot be construed as a compliment. Your writing appears far too intelligent to make honest mistakes.

NRALifer: You are either an aging crank like me or you are younger. How could you be in Korea or Vietnam and still taken part in any of Clinton’s military debacles as you claimed in the past? Your old name suggested you were a Sergeant in the Marines. That still makes you an armchair general and a young one at that.

Right ON!!
Bravo, Kimberly -- you said it better than I ever could! I suppose that your well-stated post will be greeted with juvenile name-calling -- but I hope not. We know that there is corruption in both parties -- but allowing one party (especially the party of so-called "moral values") to get away with murder (so to speak) --is sheer lunacy. I implore all those who defend this corrupt administration to put their country above their party. Let's get balance back in our government as our founders intended.

Since you're preaching to the choir here
Why not go to Ed Schultz forum, using a pseudonym of course, and post this in a summary form. Might be fun. They just banned me for 6 months for pointing out one of Ed's "mistakes".
(But I keep reading it. Good humor.)

To Mike R, with an outstreched hand . .
Trouble is, sir, your first paragraph consists of shadow-boxing with two other bloggers while facing me. I addressed my comments to you, not to them. And you called me out, and I responded--vocatus, respondebo--and with at least as much as you have given me.

Nevertheless, you are a simple, strong, and often convincing advocate for your points of view, and sometime I should like to stand you a brew at my VFW post, where I'm sure I should appall you with a host of reactionary positions that I sincerely and tenaciously hold.

Not all talk is cheap, though sometimes I long for old Anglo-Saxon values here: few words--many deeds!

Cheers and the offer of a warm handshake, sir.

Your humble servant,

Dr JA

"We'll see " he writes.Yes,Repugs could suceed again in November. As we speak they are buying electoral officials all over with their ample supply of corporate money.Enlighten yourselves, read Andrew Gumbel's "Steal this Vote ". It is practically a 'how to book ' for the GOP.Oh,and don't forget Diebold setting up its machines all over ! Yes,we will have the best Democracy MONEY CAN BUY.

ordinaire
Did you forget how all of this started?
Florida!Gore had to have a recount,disinfranchised black voters...so on.
The left wanted these new machines, not the right, this will just be another false claim toward voter fraud from the left when they loose in Nov.

Kimberly
I appreciate your reply, even though you state your replying to the columnist. I do think your honest and sincere in your response. Although I disagree with the Liberals approach to the government problem. I do agree that politicians in both parties are corrupt and self serving. And if something isn't done about it soon it can only tear down our country.

My biggest disagreement with the Liberal ideology is to change our Republic to socialism. That I cannot tolerate. As I mentioned above. I fought, physically as a soldier, against communism and will not tolerate socialism no matter what name is put on it. As long as I'm on earth, I will do what ever I can to stop the movement. So I can only say..Good luck with your endeavors Kimberly.

ordinaire opines:

"Yes,we will have the best Democracy MONEY CAN BUY."

You Libs crack me up. You lose, and lose, and lose... and it's always because you've been cheated. The thought never occurs to you how far out of the "REAL" mainstream you've become and that more & more people are identifying themselves as conservative or moderate. And unless you can plan some way to convert 12 million illegals into citizens (voting Democrat, of course), you're movement will continue to decline as you abort your way to extinction.

I listen to conservative talk shops on occasion, and while I don't buy into everything that's said, the one thing to which I will agree is something I've heard Limbaugh say over and over, and which is borne out in history (not the "revisionist" versions); and that is: Socialism/Communism fails every time it's been tried, whereas capitalism and conservatism works every time it's tried in a democracy operating under the rule of law.

Kimberly

Yes... you are right, I couldn't hardly wait to read your story (baited breath and all!).

I know you are busy, but I'd love to challenge you to try something:

Pretend you are the captain of your debate team and you are in the National Championship finals. You must debate and prove that conservatism is good and you need to defend the foreign policies of this administration against its naysayers. You don't get to take a "pass" on this one... you have to be an advocate and back up your arguments with indisputable facts.

Now, I know you'd just as soon jump out of a window as to prepare for this... but my challenge is for you to give this a whirl. I've seen you in action so I know research is a strength of yours, so I'm sure this wouldn't take you a great deal of time.

Oh... and before you challenge me to do likewise... already did it. I was a liberal once through school and early adulthood. I protested the draft and marched with blacks. I had long hair, wore tie-dyes and bell-bottoms and played drums in a rock band and occasionally abused drugs and alcohol. In other words, I've been down the anti-establishment path. And then one day I got challenged in much the same way as I've challenged you. Gradually, this brought about a change in my viewpoints. I don't pretend to see "perfection" in anything or anyone and do my own research. Of course I defend my beliefs and I will honestly listen to opposing viewpoints. I've just found that very often the opposing viewpoints are the same or similar to my viewpoints at an earlier stage in my life, and I no longer share them. But that's just me.

So that's my story (I tired to leave out the really boring parts).

Oh... and while I cannot speak for everyone here, my curiosity about your story was sincere (not semi-sincere)! :-)

BrianR
Don't worry about the shrivel comment I made - it's been disappeared now.

SOLAR
Solar, thank you for the compliment. It takes a clear thinker to recognize one.

FYI
I haven't read much about David Scondras: A Boston Massachusetts Democratic former city councilman was arrested in a sting for soliciting sex from someone who he thought was 15 years old. The Republicans are getting beat up about the page scandal, but I'm not hearing much about a 60 year old man saying that 'prejudice exists against men who like to have sex with young boys.' This comes from police taperecording. Anyway I think this story has legs and ought to be explored.

Buying votes
Ordinaire,
Doesn't seem a bit suspicious that your side's arguments about Republicans 'vote-buying' and all of the past alledged shenanigans on the Republican side seem to happen in DEMOCRATIC areas...under local DEMOCRATIC control, with mostly DEMOCRATIC established voting rules???

Doesn't that make you want to just scratch your head? ...just ONCE? (Talk about 'blinded by the light'!!!)

Kim Jung-elvis
Sorry it took so long to get back to you -- the cares of the world, don't you know. You're insisting on my views? I'd splice myself in here, but there are photos. Thus:

BUYING VOTES
Matt Man writes :"The vote buying happened in Dem districts". You Repugs always circumvent blame by trying to create a psychosis of guilt in your opponent.Nice try. So I am guilty of having my car stolen because I parked on the street instead of my garage.
I know I am going over well pounded ground by noting what you so desperately try to ignore: Six years of total ineptitude and stupidity by this administration ,never before seen in the history of this country. 9/11 and 3000 American lives , Katrina and the dissapearance of New Orleans,a failed invasion of Iraq and 6000 + dead and a couple trillion deficit to be paid long after we boot you out of office.

Eat Me Ann
You have got to be kidding,
There is little evidence that North Korea has set
a real nuke. In fact, in the absence of radiation signature and for that matter the accoustic evidence of a a nuclear detonation, it is time to give Kim Jong Il the finger and go about our day. The Problem for Kim Jong Il is a classic middle child syndrome that centers around "Hey, look at me." My guess is to get attention he had several tons of dynamite detonated and called it a nuclear test. He's bluffing. Only Republicans fly in the face of science and get on a soap box before the evidence is in. But let's assume for one second that he did detonate a nuke. It was very small. Well, he's small, maybe it's proportional. Better. If he did detonate a nuke, it reinforces what I said all along, we should have gone to war with N Korea instead of Iraq. We could have let Saddam continue to play despot and maybe a sectarian civil war would not have killed 65,000 iraqis. It is past time to nuke N Korea off the map. Let the games begin.

clintons mistakes
well i hope the idiots that put clinton in office are happy,we have a major problem with north korea because of his stupidity in selling nuke tech. to a dictator, this is what happens when you have the liberal" well lets talk to the enemy" and give them a carrot. people say we had it so good when clinton was in power, how do you think we had all that surplus money? by taking defence money to make him look good now we have a strugling armed services that needs to be replenished to defend us against terrorists and dictators and they know we are weaker than we should be,at least bush has been trying to rebuild our defences with no help from democrats,if dems get control again we better build bunkers in our back yards
