Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

At least liberals are finally exhibiting a moral compass about something. I am sure that they'd be equally outraged if Rep. Mark Foley were a Democrat.

The object lesson of Foley's inappropriate e-mails to male pages is that when a Republican congressman is caught in a sex scandal, he immediately resigns and crawls off into a hole in abject embarrassment. Democrats get snippy.

Foley didn't claim he was the victim of a "witch-hunt." He didn't whine that he was a put-upon "gay American." He didn't stay in Congress and haughtily rebuke his critics. He didn't run for re-election. He certainly didn't claim he was "saving the Constitution." (Although his recent discovery that he has a drinking problem has a certain Democratic ring to it.)

In 1983, Democratic congressman Gerry Studds was found to have sexually propositioned House pages and actually buggered a 17-year-old male page whom he took on a trip to Portugal. The 46-year-old Studds indignantly attacked those who criticized him for what he called a "mutually voluntary, private relationship between adults."

When the House censured Studds for his sex romp with a male page, Studds -- not one to be shy about presenting his backside to a large group of men -- defiantly turned his back on the House during the vote. He ran for re-election and was happily returned to office five more times by liberal Democratic voters in his Martha's Vineyard district. (They really liked his campaign slogan: "It's the outfit, stupid.")

Washington Post columnist Colman McCarthy referred to Studds' affair with a teenage page as "a brief consenting homosexual relationship" and denounced Studds' detractors for engaging in a "witch-hunt" against gays: "New England witch trials belong to the past, or so it is thought. This summer on Cape Cod, the reputation of Rep. Gerry Studds was burned at the stake by a large number of his constituents determined to torch the congressman for his private life."

Meanwhile, Foley is hiding in a hole someplace.

No one demanded to know why the Democratic speaker of the House, Thomas "Tip" O'Neill, took one full decade to figure out that Studds was propositioning male pages.

But now, the same Democrats who are incensed that Bush's National Security Agency was listening in on al-Qaida phone calls are incensed that Republicans were not reading a gay congressman's instant messages.

Let's run this past the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals: The suspect sent an inappropriately friendly e-mail to a teenager -- oh also, we think he's gay. Can we spy on his instant messages? On a scale of 1 to 10, what are the odds that any court in the nation would have said: YOU BET! Put a tail on that guy -- and a credit check, too!

When Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee found unprotected e-mails from the Democrats about their plan to oppose Miguel Estrada's judicial nomination because he was Hispanic, Democrats erupted in rage that their e-mails were being read. The Republican staffer responsible was forced to resign.

But Democrats are on their high horses because Republicans in the House did not immediately wiretap Foley's phones when they found out he was engaging in e-mail chitchat with a former page about what the kid wanted for his birthday.

The Democrats say the Republicans should have done all the things Democrats won't let us do to al-Qaida -- solely because Foley was rumored to be gay. Maybe we could get Democrats to support the NSA wiretapping program if we tell them the terrorists are gay.

On Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" Monday night, Democrat Bob Beckel said a gay man should be kept away from male pages the same way Willie Sutton should have been kept away from banks. "If Willie Sutton is around some place where a bank is robbed," Beckel said, "then you're probably going to say, 'Willie, stay away from the robbery.'"

Hmmmm, let's search the memory bank. In July 2000, the New York Times "ethicist" Randy Cohen advised a reader that pulling her son out of the Cub Scouts because they exclude gay scoutmasters was "the ethical thing to do." The "ethicist" explained: "Just as one is honor bound to quit an organization that excludes African-Americans, so you should withdraw from scouting as long as it rejects homosexuals."

We need to get a rulebook from the Democrats:

  • Boy Scouts: As gay as you want to be.

  • Priests: No gays!

  • Democratic politicians: Proud gay Americans.

  • Republican politicians: Presumed guilty.

  • White House press corps: No gays, unless they hate Bush.

  • Active-duty U.S. military: As gay as possible.

  • Men who date Liza Minelli: Do I have to draw you a picture, Miss Thing?

This is the very definition of political opportunism. If Republicans had decided to spy on Foley for sending overly friendly e-mails to pages, Democrats would have been screaming about a Republican witch-hunt against gays. But if they don't, they're enabling a sexual predator.

Talk to us Monday. Either we'll be furious that Republicans violated the man's civil rights, or we'll be furious that they didn't.

    Whose ox is gored
This has happened so often i get weary seeing it. The DEMs switch principles according to party. Where are the DEMs who shouted so vigorously Slick Willie's private life is no ones business? I suppose Ann might reach someone to whom this is a revelation, but although she's always fun to read, she's beating and old tired horse on this one.

    Ann - Opportunism

One word says it all, "Opportunism."

The Democrat Pols couldn't care less about what Foley did. It all comes down to, "How can they leverage this to their political advantage?

    On target! Boom!
Ann is so good at exposing the hypocrisy
    of the left!

    Well it worked
I heard today that the dems are ahead in the polls. I also heard the timing of this little scandal was plotted several months ago. I know that two newspapers and ABC sat on the story for several months. Surprise, surprise.

Repubs need to play dirty too!
Why is it that only the Dems can drop a story like this around the elections? Every election lately something like this hits the Repubs. I know that the Dems pretty much own the MSM, but you think they could stir up something around election time to hurt the Dems. But I guess this type of "scandal" only helps the Dems!

    It happen every election lately
This type of negative story about Republicans always surfaces about this time before an election. The fake papers on Bush was the story in 2004. Hopefully no one will fall for it, it didn't work last time so it won't this time. The press has no credibility anymore so folks see that its not the story.

jander: Not a Level Playing Field

The following was excerpted from a post I made on Bozell's column earlier today.

Democrats do not see themselves as hypocritical. They, after all, don’t measure Republicans by Democrat standards. On the contrary, they judge Republicans based on conservative values – both real and imagined. When someone in their (Dems) ranks is caught in a moral’s violation – up to and including murder (thank Teddy for lowering that bar) they circle the wagons to protect the perpetrator. Given that Liberal sins can be attributed (by their MSM apologists and others) to illness, disease or some unfathomable nuance, their “indiscretions” at worst are labeled as “victimless crimes.”

When Republicans were made aware of the magnitude of Foley’s misdeeds they wanted the cancer excised immediately. Without delving into the minutiae of what the leadership knew and when they knew it, the fact remains the rank-and-file have agreed with and wanted his removal. In other words, by Republican standards, his conduct was unacceptable and he had to go. On the other hand, Democrats merely hijack conservative virtue whenever it is politically expedient and attempt to commander it into Republican towers. They do not possess a moral compass of their own; their goal and guiding principle is to attain power at any cost.

    Great column, but
unfortunately a day late, if not a dollar short. Great column on how the Dems have no room to talk? Check out Cal Thomas on Tuesday. Well reasoned request for Hastert to resign? Tony Blankley, earlier today. Well reasoned rebuttal to request for Hastert to resign? Flagwaver's posts on various columns, notably Blankley's. Ann's column? Nicely done, but old hat as Pistol noted. I did like the addition of the rulebook for Democrats.

    Let's be honest

You're all delusional if you think that politics really works differently on one side than on the other.

    .

    Ann you describe
perfectly the unbalanced, convoluted thinking and hypocrisy of the Democrats/Liberals. What Foley did was despicable and sickening, condemned by all Conservatives. Had he not resigned, we would be demanding his resignation.

But that is not enough for the Libs. Like vampires, they will draw every drop of Foley blood and use it to smear the Bush Administration. As far as I'm concerned the Republicans deserve it.

Members of both parties have turned Congress into a slime pit of self-serving bottom feeders. Unworthy of making decisions for our country!

    Pistol, Cynewulf
You make good points about the timeliness of Ann's column, but you may be overlooking something. Her column is not written primarily for this venue. It is syndicated in newspapers across the country. And all those papers may not carry all the columns you referenced.

    Pistol: It's called...
... situational ethics. The situation determines the ethical stance of the moment.

Dems are great at it, as they HAVE no core ethics, other than being the anti-Rep party.

Their slogan: "Vote for us, because we're not Republicans"

Their creed: "Anything the Republicans do is evil, even if we did it before them"

Their plan: "Anything the Republicans didn't do, except we'll be successful at it."

    Wisolman,
true, but it's not often that I find something I can crab about in a Coulter column, so I'll take what I can get. And I'll go ahead here and second Handy: Two columns a week from Ann would be nice.

    Brian, I thought
their plan was: We have a plan.

    Lets perform a test
Hey, BS, lets perform a scientific test to prove you theory that politics works the same on both sides.

We get two politicians, one from each side, and under hypnosis have them comment on the current scandal. Then, place the suggestion that Foley is a Dem and ask them to comment again.

Which side will have the most variance in their comments?

    BS D
Thank you. I believe this is the first i've seen you give the right wing credit for the same intelligence, ethics, and patriotism which form the basic principles of the left.

    To Coulter
Don't be such a crybaby. It is more than high time
for a change. Thank you Mr. Foley for speeding it along.

    Ann doesn't give em he11...
...she just tells the truth and the libs think it's he11!

Wonderful column exposing the libs for the true hypocites they are. Let the roasting continue...

    Some left wing gay blogs
are floating a 'list' of gay Republican staffers that they intend to "out" in hopes that religious Republicans go nuclear and melt the party. Wow. Isn't hate from the Left attractive?

    Kimberly! How droll!
Another early morning (East Coast time) swoop-by. And with some more little made-up factoids.

Weren't you the one who yesterday posted your little list of Republican deviants who all happen to be under indictment or in jail? And then kind of shut up after it was pointed out that the Dem deviants (love that alliteration) get to be re-elected, and get standing O's like Studds?

I do believe that was you.

You also had your little Garrison Keilor quote, except that when I pointed out that Billy Drop-Trou was the biggest pervert of all, you kind of dropped that topic, too.

Kimberly, dear, you really need to get someone to find some new talking points for you. The thread's a little bare on your current material.

Re: "Some left wing gay blogs are floating a 'list' of gay Republican staffers that they intend to "out"

THAT is what I was SAYING the other day when I copied that post from dkosopedia! (the one in which you thought *I* was calling you a troll - but it was actually a copy of a dkos meme....)

These guys do this stuff all the time.

    yeah, we know.
It's really the Dems' fault. Or Clinton's fault. Or Studd's fault or someone else's fault. It's always someone else's fault, isn't it, Ann? And Foley wasn't really a Republican, he was a Dem right?

Right. Isn't it time for your once-a-month bush dye?

    Dye
    What's a bush dye?

    Suckers!
If it comes from any MSM outlet it's got to be total B.S.--who on earth STILL believes anything they report? I doubt everything coming from them ever since that forged memo stuff against Bush.
It's all been nothing but rumors and innuendo so far.

    celtic-dragon
Another interesting post. We're lucky to have your inputs.

    Mcquaidla
Aw c'mon Mac. Give us a post we can deal with. There are plenty of legitimate points you can make about Ann or celtic-dragon. You didn't have to stoop to that offensive level. We're talking ideas here.

    mcquaidla writes:

"It's really the Dems' fault. Or Clinton's fault. Or Studd's fault or someone else's fault. It's always someone else's fault, isn't it, Ann? And Foley wasn't really a Republican, he was a Dem right?"

Huh... I've read the column three times now and I sure don't see where Ann is dropping Foley's guilt on you Libs' doorsteps.

I believe the point is the obvious political opportunism Dems are employing over this scandal... and the thoroughly obvious hypocrisy over their sudden concern for "morality".

Deep down... hidden somewhere in your conscience (and "Drive-by Kim's"), you KNOW that is what's going on here... pure political opportunism.

    krystalbird
Unless "Mcquaidla" is misusing the term, he/she is suggesting Ann dyes ALL her hair... you know, so the collar and the cuffs match.

Typical Lib personal attack... and it clearly says more about Mcquaidla than it does about Ann.

    MSM propaganda-quit falling for it!
People who are running to a TV camera to show how tough they are on pedophiles is what I'm seeing all over the place.
Thanks democrats! Republicans will gladly show how tough they are against pedophiles--just need an actual one to scapegoat it appears. Foley seems to have gone from being an outright monster who preys on innocent little lambs to "engaging in innapropriate behavior".
    "The latest Washington sex scandal"--yawn!
It'll last maybe another 2 or 3 days. They'll have to do better than that--maybe they can forge some more Bush guard documents?

    Politic's, News Media are Gay!!!!
I just don't trust the media, as far as the ears, hear. Take fox, fair and balanced???, I have been e-mailing them for 4 years and asking them, if they are fair and balanced why are they not reporting how the schools are indoctrinating children into the homosexual agenda? If this is so normal, behavior why don't they simply all come out of the closet? Like any deviant elements it must be protected and hidden. I can say without a doubt the american citizens are being duped. Our children are being put at alarming risk of all sexual preditors. Also I having been contacting the politicians with phone calls and e-mails. Mitt Romney is the father of gay marriage, he authorized the gay marriage rights in Massachusetts and now he is letting others from out of state to marry in Massachusetts. We are facing a country that has run a muck, disfuctional politics and a media that has the power is destroy the natural family of man. Go to missionamerica.com, also massresistance.com. Get involed, the american family is at stake!!!!

I haven't heard too many democratic
politicians weigh in on this. The talking heads do--but I don't have to listen. It does prove the Boy Scouts right but I bet if it comes up again the lefties will still condemn the scouts. The republicans just need to keep doing what is right in handling these scandals and let the chips fall where they may. If it was covered up then whoever did it should go. We are not the party of Gerry Studds and Mel Reynolds(who pardoned him?). Humans fail. Foley resigned--that should be it unless there is prosecutable crimes involved. Did "cold cash"(Jefferson) resign?

    You Go Girl!
Ann, You have it said in a nutshell. If Foley was a Democrat, all would be forgiven by his "Esteemed Colleagues" and the Drive By Media.
I mean really, what they let Bill Clinton, Gerry Studds and Barney Frank get away with, How could they possibly wag a judgemental finger at Foley.
But like you said, Foley was a Republican, ad since we Republicans try for the most part to maintain the moral "High Ground" The Dim Rats and the Drive By Media have had a field day with this story. I am sure if they could tie President Bush to this they would be asking for his resignation too. What a bunch of Hypocrites.
They all make me want to Barf.

    To Celtic-Dragon;BrianR;MountainRose:
..... and all; Kimberly just has a short memory. Poor thing. We KNEW this was going to happen as soon as the story came to light. Why those like Foley, Clinton,Kennedy and all that "act out" (sober or drunk )do not have a speck of guilt about it....is beyond understanding. Must have something to do with the old adage .."maybe they won't find out". Or maybe like Deborah Lafave...They are 'bipolar'.. Ring any bells, Kimberly???

    Realism
The Democrats will do whatever it takes to win. They fight dirty and are proud of it. The Republicans should learn this lesson, but watching them all these years, they seem to have a genetic defect that renders the lesson unlearnable.

These people haven't been citizen-statesmen for decades. They have special privileges for all of them, and that is the way it is. I don't expect a single shred of love of country from them, or any aggressive protection of it.

The people of Massachussetts (I don't know how to spell it!) have repeatedly re-elected barbarians to office. KNOWN barbarians. People that had no right to hold office in a civilized country. But there they have been for decades. Other states have elected similarly corrupt individuals....

Since they can't stop themselves from debauchery and financial chicanery, all I hope for is that they at least put in enough energy and divert enough of our tax dollars into the War Department so that we don't have any more airliners flying into skyscrapers, and we don't have any nuclear bombs going off in our borders. After that, it would be nice if they would quit wiping their feet on the Constitution and passing such things as McCain-Feingold, but that is way too much to hope for.

    By the Way - - -
That is what I love about Ann Coulter: She's learned to be just as aggressive and just an unforgiving an adversary as the Democrats. She is willing to fight just as dirty as them. BRAVO!

That's mud I'd like to get into!!

    Kimberly,(Drive-By) writes:
    "Snippy?? Project much, Ann?
Now, why would Foley claim he was victim of a "witch hunt" when apparently he had an army of Republican leaders all too happy to hide his sexual perversion for years?"

No one was trying to hide the fact he was gay. They,(Dems and Repubs), all knew it.

"For a witch hunt, you'd need a partisan hack (Starr), millions of taxpayers dollars and nothing to go on but the backing of a morally bankrupt political party with an agenda. Oh, but that's when the victim is a Democrat."

No, Drive-By-Kimberly, that was no witch hunt as the FACTS have shown ALL of us. The millions of dollars you are referring to were spent because your boy,( and I emphasize the word boy), wagged his finger at America, looked directly into the camera and lied his a$$ off. He,(draft dodger billy), was the sole reason for that $40 million plus investigation.

    Just imagine
if foley had driven his car with a young girl into a lake....

    Ann, rethink this position...
    Ann,

I'm a Republican, and I'm convinced you missed the boat on this one.

You point out that Dems did the same thing when they had their congressional page sex scandal. So that makes it okay for us as Republicans to do the same?

I thought we were supposed to stand for something - something the Dems could not - that we would practice what we preach.

If we have a committment to family values, if we want to take a stand on the issue of sexual predators, we MUST clear the House of those who would apologize for Foley's actions, clear it of those who would be enablers for his actions, and clear it of people who would cover up such actions.

If Denny knew of the problem, and we need to find out if he did in a rational way, then he needs to go.

And if we as Republicans don't demand that, we are no better than the hypocritical Democrats you so revile in your column.

    PLAYING CHILDISH GAMES
Is how BOTH political parties choose to spend their time, its no wonder that this country in crumbling all around us and with midterm elections a short distance away there appears to be no candidate's or incumbent's worth voting for they are either deep into the pockets of Corporate America or trying to get deep into the pants of some young male page. Remember two weeks ago when the United States allowed the little monkey leaders of third world countries to visit our country and they all but made the United States the laughing stock of the world? Well wake up people that's important news, this stuff is bullsh1t!

Visit http://www.headsneedtoroll.org and post your thoughts, views and opinions.
    Heads Need To Roll

    Great article.
Thomas "Tip" O'Neill spent a decade or longer overseeing a House of Representatives where Gerry Studds flagrantly carried on sexual affairs with underage congressional male pages, even taking one of them to Portugal, yet no one criticized the venerable Speaker of the house at the time. Today's democrats want Hastert's head on a platter...like yesterday...because Foley sent a couple of sexually explicit instant messages to a former congressional male page who may not have even been a minor at the time. He may have been 18. The doublestandard stinks to high heaven.

    Hypocrisy!
I detect a clear double standard here. Democrats gave a standing ovation to Rep Studds, who actually had homosexual sex with a teen-aged page. The good people of Massachusetts proceeded to re-elect him six times. Now Democrats relentlessly bash the openly gay Rep Foley over homosexual correspondence, while Republicans run for cover. I believe both parties are acting disgracefully, while both of the perverts should be locked away. But then, I don’t subscribe to the leftist double standard.

    Foley
The missing person in all of this scandal is Barney Frank. All he got was a censure by the House and then a promotion to Democratic spokesman. Go figure!

    disguised democrap
The moment this hit the news, I thought to myself, hmmm, could this be an infiltrator from the democrap side. Pedofile's always find a way to be in situations that will lead them to children. They will lie and cheat, straight faced to do so. What I'm really upset about is the fact that foley didn't take responsibility for his deception and blamed it on alcohol and the clergy. Well at least he didn't blame GW....

    keep away?
Bob B stated last night that gay males should be kept away from male pages, I need to ask if gay male teachers should be kept away from male students in our public schools?

    Ann Coulter's Piece
What a hoot! I laughed 'til I cried. And she's so right. It's amazing how Ann can make the obvious & unassailable truth so funny. Go girl!

    IM recipient was 18!
Okay, a new detail about the Foley Sex Scandal has come to light that Old Media (in particular ABC) apparently went to great lengths to conceal.

ABC claimed the IMs went to "a young man under the age of 18." But we now know that is not true. ABC briefly released some unredacted IM transcripts which identified the young man as being 18 at the time of the messages, i.e. a legal adult. In other words, ABC lied to us about the age of the alleged "victim." (Since this is an election year, it is easy to see why ABC would want to conceal the truth.)

Thus, the IMs, while still disgusting and reprehensible, were not illegal and thus not a crime.

If you have been following the liberal Dem philosophy on such matters, this whole affair falls under the category of "personal choices" which the Dems so loudly championed, until now.

    hntr admin & coolmoose
Both sum up the situation as well as possible.

Ann is another matter. While acidic, she is often funny, but the sad truth is that her only true concern is for ammunition for her literary guns. To think of her as anything more than thought provoking amusement is wrong. Hate is her fuel and she will feed off of anything she can. If suddenly the government became exactly the way she thinks it should be, she would not be content. By the next day, she would be viciously attacking some part of it. That is not vigilance; that is hypocrisy. Ann is simply the conservative version of an angry Democrat. Take note that her only indictment of Foley was that he was inappropriate. Many of you described Foley’s actions in much stronger terms yesterday while applauding Ann today. All Ann has done is exactly what she accuses the democrats of doing in the past. A better title for this article would be: “Who knew Ann Coulter was a closeted Democrat?”

If Foley had been a Dem
We would have been swamped with stories about how traumatic sexual abuse of teens is (which it is), how many do not seek counseling (which they don't), and how frequently they ruin their lives with drug and alcohol abuse (which they do) or promiscuous behavior (which they do), often becoming predators themselves. It sounds like Foley's behavior, while despicable, is consistent with previous abuse, and may have skirted the edge of legality for any actual physical contact, which may demonstrate the fact that deep inside, he is trying to stay out of trouble.
While I don't condone any aspect of Foley's actions, part of the problem is that we are no longer allowed to consider homosexuality or promiscuity as a potential sign of something wrong in the past. As a mother of a just-turned-18 rape victim, it has taken more than a year of intense treatment just to enable her to get on with her life, and that was when she told us right away. It would have eaten her alive if she had tried to pretend it never happened.
Dems are just using this as an excuse to remove skilled Republican leadership and to scare away the rest (who will they go after next?)

    CoolMoose..I'm a republican
I missed the part in Ann's column where she said that this was ok. I can't find anywhere were she suggests that Folley should still be in office, or that the republicans should be supporting him against his detractors. She simply points out that this is what the democrats have historically done.

I personally think that not enough has been done against Foley in this. I find it completely despicable that there are past situations of major moral failures that left the perpetrator still in office.

If there are individuals who have been sitting on these IM's, those individuals need to be found and prosecuted. I really don't care what their motivation was; republican trying to protect Foley, democrat trying to gain politically, or news media waiting for maximum effect. Regardless of the reason, they were enabling the possible harassment and molestation of kids.

    Interesting change of values.
With Clinton it was a private issue, with Studds it was consensual sex. With the Dems it is always a double standard, selective memory and moral outrage. What people should be noticing is that there is a party out there that will do ANYTHING to win. They will change the rules, tell little white lies (or great big black ones), or whatever else it takes to win.

A month ago the DEMS were championing gay rights. Two nights ago, one of their strategists all but said that all gays were perverts and couldn't be trusted in the company of children. I guess that they figure that this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Apparently they are throwing away the gays like they did Joe Lieberman. Oh well, anything to win.

    In the 1979
movie, "Apocalypse Now", Robert Duvall's character, LtCol Bill Kilgore, says of the exploding environs, "I love the smell of naplam in the morning."

So do I and that's why I look forward to Ann's column every Thursday. Bomb away, babe.

There are no words in the English language more vile than, "Speaker Pelosi."

    The horror...The horror.

    Backlash
As always, the Dems have overplayed their hand. Can't blame them; the GOP might have done the same thing.

Ann, as always, nails the crystal clear hypocrisy. But this time, the party of homosexuality to suit all circumstances seems to be slamming gays for being gay.

Dem gay prostitution? No problem. Dem/Lib theater productions about lesbian rape of 13 year old girls (Vagina Monologues)? Hooray! Bravo! Dem pols having anal sex with 17 year old pages? Not my business. Dem President getting knobbed by an intern in the Oral Office? It's just his "private life!"

Republicans want to protect "children" as much as anyone else. Let's get the rules straight, though.

Maybe the real problem is that our politicians of both stripes are chosen from a pool of people with lower moral standards than the rest of the country...

    Question
There have been no allegations that Foley actually had sex with any minor, male or female. Surely if Foley committed sexual assault we would have heard about it by now. There has been some posting to the tune that the sending of the emails was in itself a crime. If so, big house/orange jumpsuit, fast as possible.

But there is no question that the Dems are feeding off this story to try to take back election momentum that was eroding. They had no issue left on which they could gain a majority in either chamber. Iraq was not doing it for them, oil prices have dropped dramatically (yes, I know, thanks to Bush's buddies in Big Oil!).

It is one big Gotcha moment, and Pelosi et al will ride it to November if at all humanly possible.

    Dirty Tricks, Conned Again
Looks like we have many Con's in position of power today, It is abudently clear they (the politicians} have the power to rob us of our tax dollars, to promote agenda's that go against the American people. Thats what happens when we elect predators, mentally, emotionally and spiritually ill people into office. They spend our money, fighting to promote their agenda's, for the purpose of their own gain. Our country is going down the tubes and our tax dollars, let the sicko's prevail. Had enough? !!!!!

    Age of consent
Not one of the articles or reports on this story makes clear where both the congressman and the page were located during the email and IM exchanges. And, in reality, that makes a HUGE difference. One previous post pointed out that the age of consent in Florida is 18, and that is true. However, the age of consent in DC is only 16, and that would apply if both parties were there at the time. I suspect that these email and IM exchanges did not EXCLUSIVELY take place while both men were in DC, so it is likely that there will be enough to criminally prosecute. But until we know for sure, we can't say with any certainty that a crime was even committed.

    Watergate Redux?
    Ann..

Who knew what and when will be the crux of the biscuit in this case. All that you detail is true and accurate, even if you did omit Barney Frank’s boyfriend involvement with a male prostitution ring.

Did Hastert know, did others know, what did they know will become less important than who leaked what to whom. If the dem’s, as it is alleged, had the damaging IM’s and sat on them for months until a more convenient time (say, 5 weeks from a putatively close series of elections), are the guilty of a greater sin? Will the George Soros connection play out?

One has got to love the dem’s sense of irony, tho.

Foley did the right thing by stepping down. If there is any evidence that he did have inappropriate contact with a minor, he ought to be arrested, tried and if convicted, incarcerated with a bunch of fine fellow who know how to treat a child-molester.

But, what about Rep. Jefferson (D-UH?) and the sack of cool cash he had stashed away? Where were the cries to have Pelosi step down? Where was the outcry when Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-UI) was practicing his high-speed nocturnal perpendicular parking? Where was the call for an investigation of the house leadership when McCarthy was paractising her pugilism in the Capitol Building. Oddly mute, I say.

No, sir/maam, this is the tip (O’neill?) of the iceberg.

Foley will be dealt with in the judicial system. But the covers-up, the canards, the selective leaking have all the earmarks of a conspiracy of Watergate proportions.

Stay tuned to the DC police blotter for further details!

    Pistol
"basic principles of the left" is a contradiction in terms.

They function on feelings, emotions. Principles depend on what the meaning of "is" is.

    coolmoose - Republican?
I don't see Ann giving Foley a pass on this; she is merely pointing out Liberal hypocrisy. If you are in fact, a Republican; question is, "Why are you so willing to execute Republican miscreants but seemingly reluctant to use and apply the same standard to Democrats?" If the House is to be cleaned, it should be cleaned Left to Right and top to bottom.

Inasmuch as the Democrats have taken a stand on morality, we need to seize the day and use this as an opportunity to make a clean sweep. Thus noted, given that the Democrat leadership was apparently aware of Foley's misdeeds but far more concerned about opportunism, than the alleged victim’s welfare, shouldn’t we be taking them to task on that score?

    The Foley scandal proves...
...that Republicans are, in fact, better than Democrats.

Any time a Republican is caught in scandal, they are booted. Heck, this isn't even a REAL scandal. As it turns out, the kid was actually 18 years old at the time.

On the other hand, Democrats get embroiled in scandal, and the Democratic response is to flock to the polls to re-elect them. From Ted Kennedy to Gerry Studds, from Nancy Pelosi to Hillary Clinton, from William Jefferson to Ralph Reed, the number 1 way to generate more votes if you're a Democrat is to commit a crime.

    MikeR
"Hate is her fuel and she will feed off of anything she can"

Ann is not stooping to the level of Democrats. Can anyone get that low without pulling something?? She is quick, witty and hard hitting in truth. That's what truth does. It hits hard and fast. It is simplicity in gut wrenching rapidity. She's a master of that. That's why ALL Democrats hate her. She throws the truth right at them and they are powerless to respond. I think that anyone who criticizes Ann, especially on posts like these, are just jealous of her literary skills. Face it, guys. We're all just giving our two cents worth--she gets read all over the country (read: world). She is doing every conservative a mighty favor and I humbly thank her for it....

    predators?
I seem to recall some other articles/news items, in which an adult male private citizen turned out to be molesting underage boys - some of them _very_ young - and the liberal position was that, actually the "victims" really were gay in the first place, they just didn't know it yet. So the perpetrator had to be excused, because he was just helping the boys grow up to be "healthy, well-adjusted" adult gays.

Well? Where's the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA) when you "need" them? Not that I support them in any way - I most certainly do NOT! - but they seem oddly silent in the discussion about this politician who was just helping these pages. Just because they're pages, is that any reason to deprive them of their right to develop "normally as gays"? (I had to put that in quotes because it's such an oxymoron.)

    Kathy,
you're out of your tree, woman! Or are you a gay male, who masquerades as one?

Now pay attention: Mitt Romney did not authorize gay marriage in Mass. I don't know where you live, but if you're from Mass., you been mushroomed, i.e. kept in the dark and fed a line of s*it.

    Kathy Asks
"Our country is going down the tubes and our tax dollars, let the sicko's prevail. Had enough? !!!!!"

I agree. Lets get those Democrat sickos out of the way along with the few Republicans who are also wack jobs and get back to running the country well.

    A simple critique:
Ann, like so many others (ABC among them) ignores the fact that the general age of consent in DC is 17. To be fair, I did run across an article this morning on my ISP page that said that could be modified by circumstances, but didn't elaborate. Is the under-18 argument part of those "circumstances"? I'm curious. So far from what I know of DC's laws, Studds' affair might be icky, but it was legal, at least in the age sense. There's still the sexual harassment issue if Congress didn't exempt itself from that law, which it sometimes does.

And Ann, let's the name-calling right here: Democrats are corrupt, Republicans are perverts. Or was it the other way around? Depends on the year, I guess.

    Typical Coulter
First of all, a word of commendation for coolmoose, who wrote an honest, principled response. Too bad more Republicans aren't as interested in doing the right thing.

Back to Coulter. In her frantic finger-pointing she neglected to accuse the pages of conspiring to "trap" Foley, as the idiot twins Limbough and Hannidy have done. Must have slipped her "mind."

However, she does accuse Democrats of violating Foley's rights by snooping into his "private" e-mails and instant messages. Too bad Annie didn't actually do some research before spouting her opinions (What! And break a habit?) If she had, she might have discovered that the e-mails and IMs were brought forward by the pages who had received them.

    Ajhil
You and Coolmoose must have read a different article than I did. Ann didn't accuse Democrats of violating Foley's rights by snooping. Maybe the two of you should start putting in some quotes, so I can see what article you read.

    Coulter-geist
Ann's spooking of the thoroughly immoral Dem party should be celebrated by all who don't see through the desperation of a party out of power, which would stoop to using and paying pages to set up anyone to bring scandal in an election year. The world will worsen if they succeed with what looks like a Foley entrapment and smear.

    ajhil - Content???

    Note to ajhil:

This thread is about Ann's column.

    1) You commend coolmoose for (apparently) having reading comprehension skills comparable to your own.

    2) You erect a strawman; then summarily kick the daylights out of it.

    3) You falsely accuse Ann of "accus[ing] Democrats of violating Foley's rights."

    Care to discuss content?

Too bad you didn't actually read and comprehend Ann's column. You might have discovered you didn't have an argument.

    Huh?
Why do you think Democrats oppose gay priests? Oh are you failing to distinguish between gay priests and pedophile priests? I guess if you don't see why children deserve protection in such cases, then democratic opinions will seem to be contradictory. After all if you can't make relevant moral distinctions, then anyone who can will appear to be acting arbitrarily.
Sometimes I can enjoy Coulter's parady of a conservative activist, but when it comes to attacking democrats for wanting leadership to take Congressmen preying on pages seriously it comes off as more creepy than funny.

    Ajhil
Not only has cool moose jumped the gun. He has played right into the hands of the the disingenuous Dems who sparked this October surprise.

Brian Ross at ABC, who broke the story, has had this info for two months. His timing certainly gives the appearance of political motivation rather than any genuine concern for the well-being of young men.

Hastert owes no one any apology or explanation. He is a purely political target. When he learned of the email last year he confronted Foley and Foley agreed it wouldn't happen again. If Hastert had done more he would have been accuse of being anti-gay. When he found out about the IM's he succeeded in getting Foley's resignation. Compare that with Nancy Pelosi's very public and very phony call for the resignation of Democrat Congressman William Jefferson, who has 'defied' her and remains in office and is running for re-election.

Hastert has also called for an investigation by both the FBI and the House ethics committee into the entire matter. he correctly points that this is the committe's job. It always has been. The fact that this is ignored by those calling for Hastert to resign is one more reason to believe Hastert is purely a political target.

Coulter, as usual, has it right. When a Republican is caught with his ethics down he resigns. When a Democrat is caught he blames those who caught him for violating his privacy, defiantly runs for re-election, and becomes a hero to his Party.

The Left hasn't figured out that the reason Nixon had to resign even before he was impeached and Clinton completed his term in spite of actually being impeached is because the Republicans have higher standards for their own than the Democrats do. Nixon had to quit because his own party said so, not because of what the Democrats did to him. If you don't believe this, check it out. There were more than 34 Republicans in the Senate in 1974. They could have saved Nixon the way 45 Democrats in the Senate vowed to save Clinton. But the Republicans had (and still have) higher standards than that.

    AJ Hill, a Homophobe
Come on AJ, what do you have against gays? Are you one in the closet? As the information comes out, it is now known that the accuser is now 21, and the e-mail that has been reported and discussed was sent when he was 18.

Do you have a problem with two gay men talking dirty when one is younger than the other?

The "creepy" emails talked about Hurricane Katrina which was last year, so he would have been 20 or 19 at the time.

Come into the light and give over your homophobia. AJ

    Kimberly: you're cracking me up
You decry the Rep party's ethics. What a joke, coming from anybody on the left.

We punish our wrongdoers: Packwood, John Tower, and now Foley. Hounded from office, and sent to jail as appropriate. There's not one columnist on the Rep side who supports these guys. Who's calling the loudest for sanctions? Conservatives.
Because we have principals, we hound people who betray them, from either side of the aisle.

You, on the other hand, give yours standing O's and life tenure: Studds, Barney Frank, and of course everyone's favorite, Billy Drop-Trou.

Kimberly, I think your glasses need cleaning.

    Speaking of which, Kimberly
I thought the standard that was set during the administration of the Rapist-in-Chief was that one's sex life wasn't germane, as long as they were doing their duties well.

I didn't get the memo on the standards change.

    I heartily agree.

    Kimberly and other libs deluded...
what a surprise! Is it really possible that you don't see the difference in how the two parties treat deviance and corruption? Let me spell it out for you: Corrupt or deviant Republicans resign or are forced from office, even if they've done nothing wrong (see Trent Lott). Corrupt or deviant Democrats stay in office, run for reelection and are applauded and celebrated by their colleagues and the MSM (see Studds, Reynolds, Frank, Barry, Jefferson, Clinton, et al) And no, pointing out this fact is NOT equivalent to justifying the behavior of the individual in question--Foley has been universally condemned by EVERY Republican.

And yes, the Republican party IS the party of moral values, and the Democrat party is the party of utter moral decrepitude. Democrats gleefully seize on every flawed Republican as proof of "hypocrisy," implying that since all Republicans are not perfect, the only alternative is to descend into their stinking moral cesspool. Let's review:

    - Republicans champion the traditional nuclear family as the cornerstone of society; Democrats are doing everything in their power to disparage and destroy the traditional family, preferring "alternate lifestyles" and children raised by the State

    - Rebuplicans recognize traditional Judeo/Christian values as the mortar that holds together our Constitutional Republic; Democrats disparage and mock religion at every opportunity and seek to eradicate it from the public square

    - Republicans wish to protect Americans from dangerous criminals; Democrats are more interested in the "rights" of the criminals than the rights of their victims--they lionize murderers like "Mumia" and "Tookie"

    - Republicans celebrate and fight for life; Democrats fight for the genocidal murder of millions of babies and the "right" of the state to kill the old or disabled--the only life they seek to protect is that of the convicted mass murderer

    - Republicans believe in Dr. King's vision of a color-blind society; Democrats seek to divide the country along racial lines while instituting race-based quotas and segregation schemes

    - Republicans believe that the ultimate moral responsibility of the government is to protect its citizens from external enemies; Democrats do everything in their power to help our enemies to further their own partisan quest for power.

    - And, most importantly, Republicans (or some of them, at least) recognize the value and rights of the individual and champion free market capitalism and a minimalist government to protect those rights; Democrats seek to impose their Marxist income redistribution schemes that resulted in 100 million deaths and the enslavement of entire societies, all based on their obscene proposition that any bum's need trumps my productivity and gives them the right to my life.

And guess what, little Kimberly? Although the Democrats may see short term gains in November, the vast majority of Americans do not agree with you that morality is "bull" (I won't repeat your obscenity, another hallmark of moral pygmies) As your morally bankrupt party lurches ever leftward into the limbo land of Daily Kos, MoveOn, George Soros and Michael Moore, it will be relegated to the trash bin of history with its collectivist soul mates.

    The more I read
From the libs who come here to screech, the more I am convinced about what this imbroligo is all about.

You see, the liberals agree with us that their party supports immoral and inappropriate positions. They agree that their positions occupy the moral low ground.

When somethng like this happens, they leap up, not to take the moral high ground, but rather to say: "You are no better than we are."

That fits right in with their party plans that read "We are not Bush".

    Mountain Rose
Good point Mt Rose. I agree completely, on both of your last posts.

It is highly disturbing to see so clearly the inability of the left to stick to a stance, and yet see the broad support for them. How can anyone, in good conscience, support people who have no consistency whatsoever? Actually, that's not entirely correct. They do consistently grab for power, but that is all I can think of. I still can't understand how having a moral compass is such a bad thing.

    Sick
Celtic: This is exactly what I was writing about yesterday. "Out" Republican Congresspeople? Who's to say that they are really gay? An accusation like that is difficult to defend. Being married isn't enough anymore. Sick, sick, sick, in my opinion.

    C'mon, ajhil

Even a liberal moonbat like you has to acknowledge the suspicious timing of this event!

And the problem you and "Drive-by Kim" have with Ann Coulter is she reflects her viewpoints back to you in a method your guys/gals employ as a matter of course.

BTW, do you have an actual & factual example of Ann using faulty/false research? I've looked up several of her copius footnotes and have yet to find a single instance of a lie.

Or do you just parrot the daily liberal talking points, aka, "lies & spin"?!

    JohnGalt

I assume you are referring to either Chavez or Ahmadinejd or both.

Don't know about Iran, but I can assure you that no one in Venezuela was laughing, not even his own people. Everyone was horrified. His people are on TV on ALL the channels, ALL the time, and no one even mentioned the speech. The Opposition, of course, was all over it.

BTW, his (Chavez) latest kick is that he is going to turn Venezuela into a "Barter Society", no money needed. Go figure. He has also announced that "this time Bush REALLY DID order his murder". Every in Venezuela is asking, "And, the other 23 times he announced the same thing?"

    Never a dull moment.

    APB - KIMBERLY MIA

Kimberly's done, done it again folks. MIA since 1:44 AM. Go figure...

    Mt. Rose, NRAlifer
Mt. Rose, with "President Shrillary", that would be a package deal, although I've heard that the term applied to him in that case would be "First Gentleman".

What ugly irony, to apply "Gentle Man" to that serial rapist!

NRAlifer, I'm sorry about your chow. On the other hand, how can you think of eating while reading anything about gay sex, or about Democratic "values"?

I can't argue with the connections to Latin American dictators and to Hitler (and, by implication, Mussolini and Hirohito who were alllied with Hitler, and Stalin, Lenin, Pol Pot, and other butchers).

    GunnyG - Minor Point

Actually I believe it was The RRRevvverrrennnddd Jessie Jackson who ironically did not follow his own advise to "stay out of the bushes."

I figure "Drive-By Kim" HAS to live on the left coast... probably Berkeley or 'Frisco. So 1:44 AM would be 10:44 PM her time. So... she probably dropped her load, then off to bed!

I DID notice we got her to respond once to BrianR before she clocked out.

You know, unless someone else is doing her composing, she seems articulate and educated. I wonder what it is in the genes that causes such a person to be so sucked in by liberalism? Perhaps she's not yet 30 years old yet... Or maybe she has just never grown up.

    Husker Jeff
Ok, I went over and read your article. You brought up a interesting side of this debate and,at the same time, brought up other thoughts.

    1. 50, 500, 5,000 years in the future, Foley will definitely not be even remembered, but Irak? If we are able to achieve democracy in Irak, this certainly will be remembered.

    2. "People will be able to live hundreds of years." If the Baby Boomers retiring this year will bankrupt U.S. social programs (as reported), what to do if people live hundreds (or even 100) of years? Increase taxes? Raise the retirement age? Limit the number of offspring women can have? Put our programs to find life on other planets in high gear, hoping to find room for our increased (to say the least) population? Hmmm, we certainly need to plan ahead.

Serious smack-down of the lib trolls!
I really cannot add anything because the fine posters here have laid the smack-down on the lib trolls! Excellent counter-posts all.

    NothingGate
Anne, thanks again for exposing the big nothing that is FoleyGate. Is Foley a sleazebag...of course. Did he break any laws? As more information drips out, it appears that he didn't, but I'm glad his sick a22 is out of there.

Not that the Republicans are all that great, but the Democrats are pitiful. This "scandal" is beyond childish and the onslaught from the MSM and the hatemongers on Capitol Hill is pure comedy. All the drama, the call for investigation after investigation, resignations, and on and on and on, while there are islamofascists plotting their next massacre.

I'm not afraid of some creep who sends IM's to teenagers. I'm afraid of the barbarians ready to cut my head off and blow up my children.

I detest the pieholes in government.

    Stung ruler?
I appreciate you reading. I don't think Iraq will be big in 50 years. It will either be just part of the nation of Islam or it will be a peaceful small nation in the world. In the first case, it will be subsumed into the larger and forgotten. In the later case, it will be like Lithuania. This nation was formed much less than 50 years ago. What do you know about it (without googling :-))

If you want to discuss more, post a comment on my blog and off we will go.

    Husker
Ok, I'm waching the new "sub-committee" being formed right now and have some comments, but would like to watch to the end. Thank you.

Great smack down of the libs..
It perfectly deflects away from the fact that Foley was busted for wanting to sex up a teenage page. Even Monica was 21 at the time. Further, if ABC sat on this for 2 months, how long didi the Republicans know? And if they are so great at minding their own store, then why do the removals occur only after the scandals have been reported in the media? So please spare me the whole "we clean up our own mess" garbage, because if the GOP did, by the time the story broke, he would have already been ex-Congressman Foley.

"You see, the liberals agree with us that their party supports immoral and inappropriate positions. They agree that their positions occupy the moral low ground.

When somethng like this happens, they leap up, not to take the moral high ground, but rather to say: "You are no better than we are."

I also am still waiting to hear why you hate gays so much. After all, where is the problem with one gay man offering to have consensual sex with another (18 year old) man. Both are over the age of consent. Are you just such hide bound radical Christians that you cannot accept the beauty of this situation?

If this offends you, you got a lot of folks you need to kick out of the Dem party.

    New Sub-Committee
Just listened to the installation of a new sub-committee to investigate "subject matter", which I assume has to mean "predators" in Congress, with special attention given to gays (obviously).
My hairs are standing on end!!!! Before this is over, I think the Demos are going to regret not having handled this in a more quiet manner. Now they are going to have all the gays (open and closeted)investigated. Sounds to me like a replay of the "Plame" affair. If anyone read the editorial in the NYTimes today, they are already back-peddling and coming to the defense of Hastert (Kathy, we have a miracle). The are now busy yelling that the Demos have not called for the resignation of Hastert.

I guess the moral of the story is "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it."

    Thanx, Ann
    _Really_ good article!

I especially liked the Democrat playbook. I think I've heard of each of these points before, on various occasions, but this is the first time I remember seeing them all spelled out in one place.

BTW - NRA glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read your response to Donalddddddddd. I would have had to stop to wipe down my monitor. LOL

    Once again
mAnn Coulter gets it all wrong. Don't you folks get tired of all the lies and spin these hucksters throw at you. Ann has to go back to 1983 to find a Democrat to play the moral equivalence game with. Talk about hypocrites. I thought the GOP was the party that didn't play the moral equivalence game. Except when they do because they have to retain power and all.

More bizarre is this notion that the Democrats put this story in the media. I know the typical republican response to failure is to blame Democrats, but really this is beyond the pale.

Once again the Republicans and their propogandists are trying to spin the story from what it should be about into how can we smear the Democrats. The root of this story is - Did this guy harass kids, yes or no? If he did he deserves to go to prison. These weren't overtly friendly messages (Thank you, Tony Snowjob) this was a dirty old man asking kids to take off their pants and measure themselves.

But, Repblicans refuse to take responsibility for their actions. They can't say, here is a bad man and we are going to put the smack down on him because he has betrayed the trust of the party. Oh no, that would be the adult thing to do, and we all know republicans are vicious school yard bullies. And, like the children they are, they blame the Democrats.

What mAnn Coulter leaves out of her Studds bash is a lot of fact. Such as, the person he had the realtionship with was of legal age at the time of the relationship and, after he turned his back on the House as they censured him, he appeared (with the his lover) at a press conference where both of them told the press that their relationship was their own business.

This is in an entirely different universe than the Foley matter. Foley is a pedophile and a perdator who has victimized young children. But since Republicans aer too stupid to believe in evloution, it is probably too hard to distinguish between a consensual homosexual realtionship and a lecherous pervert.

    foley-gate
You repubs are right, everyone should be held to the same standard, like when we reach the pearly gates. All are sinners, dems and repubs. Especially when children are involved, and anyone, dem or repub, that did not do more to protect the pages, didnot push for foley's resignation when first brought to their attention, whether it was GOP leadership, hoping a vocal warning would stop him, or any dems that held onto this until weeks before the election, they will face a far graver fate than any electorate or investigation can give.
And to paint all democratic voters as slick willy lovers is as assinine as painting all gop voters as nixon's dupes. Pres. Bush got alot of the democratic vote in both elections because of disgust with Clinton, and it would stand to reason that the dems might get a boost from independents, and fence sitting voters in November. And by continually bringing up dem. scandals only serves to look like whining and immature. There is a big differnce between being rightous and being self-rightous; one is a sin, the other isn't. Show the world that the GOP party is rightous, and concentrate on making the children safe again, that indeed, the GOP faces scandal head on and fixes, not try to coverup or blame the other party like whiny brats. That's what Lincoln would do, and even Reagan faced the Iran-Contra affair, and survived. Remove the sliver from your own eye before trying to take the board out of a democrats'.

    Donaldd
Unless you are a woman, you can't be having children with Mann Coulter. After all, you can't make children with man on man gay sex.

You and your other ancient gods must really hate gay people. Where is your concern and consideration. Here is an older gay man who sent dirty e-mails to an 18 year old man. Is homosexuality anethama to you? Do you think that being gay is being evil?

Or is it asking someone how they are and requesting a photo the evil thing. Gosh, you are a really radical Christian aren't you?

Your hatred of gays comes clear with your comments about "mann Coulter". Do you really think that calling someone a transexual is a horrible insult. How hateful of you. Even if accurate, it would be totally insensitive and sexist of you to say that.

Foley Scandal appears to be a Dem HOAX
Check out the very latest information regarding the Foley scandal on the Drudge report. The reveleation broke approx 15 min ago.

It would appear the dems October surprise has backfired.

Lets hear from KIMBERLY on this latest developement

    Re: Donaldd(uck), Yogsoggoth
The Duck is back, quacking away as usual, and also as usual misunderstanding or misstating the issue.

Hey, Duck: It's not an issue of prior acts or moral equivalence. It's an issue of intellectual consistency. We condemn and hound from office, if not jail, our miscreants. You guys give them standing O's and lifetime tenure.

    Get it now?

Yogzie (what kind of name is that?): Back to 1983? How about someone a little more recent, like, say, hmmm.....

Oh, yeah! That icon of the Left, that sterling example of morals and rectitude (drum roll, please)

Billy Drop-Trou, the Rapist-in-Chief, former Prez, and all-around sleazeball!

Yeah, there's a guy from whom we can all take the example of how to live one's life on the high moral plane.

The Wagger (of fingers and other appendages).

    No it's...
mAnn Coulter. I mean, if you look closely enough, you can see they didn't airbrush out the Adam's Apple in its picture.

Why would I talk about the other things you mentioned. I don't need to talk about the fact that Bush is a junior faschist, that his cabinet is full of a bunch of warmongers that were too afraid to stand up for their own country in times of war, or make refernce to the fact that the Neonutters have turned Iraq into a terrorist training ground in a futile attempt to control one of the last oil reserves on the planet. No, us liberals don't need to resort to extranious arguments to win debates (not like ReTHUGlicans).

What I was talking about was mAnn (you would think a transgender would be a little more sympathetic to homosexuals) is a classis GOP propogandist who can't win arguments on their face so she tries to bait and switch. She tries to create a moral equivalent between something that happened 23 years ago with something that happened last week. If Studds had been caught trolling an elementary school's playground then she could draw a comparison. But the two cases aren't related at all. One was about a consensual homosexual relationship and the other is about an aging pederast.

There is no comparison except in the Republican - we need to blame everything on Democrats because we are too morally and ethically challenged to take responsibility for our own actions - limited cranial cavity.

So who is the real idiot - me, who reads the papers, researches the facts (never taking any ediorialists or politicians word for anything), and the draws a conclusion - or someone that believes everything that the conservative propogandists spoon feeds them.

    Mountain Rose, BaseBallDR, Husker Jeff
Some real good comments earlier. Funny how the Dems have gotten so sanctimonious about a *gasp!* REPUBLICAN gay man. They just can't stand it if a GLBT person goes off the liberal reservation, and they will stop at NOTHING to punish us who disagree with them. Foley deserves his lumps. What does that have to do with other gay, lesbian or trans Republicans who refuse to be shills for the moonbats? They are targeting people like me, Jay, and anyone else who won't grovel and feed from their trough. Watch for accusations to be made against Senator Lindsey Grahm, and staffers for Senators and Congressmen everywhere. The mudfight is just starting.

    Canuck Cate:

Given your impassioned defense of children, what are your feelings concerning partial-birth abortion? And if you're against it, how can you be supportive of the Democrats?

While you're at it, I'm still waiting for a response to my inquiry to your assertion -- made on Limbagh's thread a couple of days ago, as follows.

    "Canuck Cate - Military Leaders

Canuck Cate writes, "The number of resigned and retired military leaders that has called foul on Rumsfeld, Feith,Bremer, and Wolfkowitz far outnumbers the supporters."

    Dear Cate,
Care to provide some supporting documentaton for your statement?"

BTW - So as not to burden everyone else (on this thread) with your "Military Leaders" reponse, just post on Limbagh's. Much thanks!

    John Doe
At least the right gets rid of their failed members. Where is William 'cold cash' Jefferson today? What happened to Studds? Who pardoned Mel Reynolds? Where is Packwood, Newt? The left will not control their perverts, the right will. My real question now--and Bob Beckel, a dem consultant, first talke dabout keeping homosexual house members away fro the pages--are you now willing to endorse the stance of the Boy Scouts? Are you ready to deny homosexual teachers the right to teach boys? I agree with the Boy Scout's stance, and I am looking forward to your support. Just kidding about the teacher thing though. But you could convince me.

    Yogzie: see my answer (above)
already posted to the ridiculous statements you just repeated.

Are you so intellectually lame that you have to keep blubbering the same nonsense again and again on the same column? Repetition does not truth make.

    But Yogggi
It turns out it is just a hoax now. The pages got him to send the messages as a joke and they got out to his enemies. And they got out months ago. And even if he did something:
. The page was 18 at the time, so of legal age (no kiddies here, thanks)
. There is no indication of anything other than talking dirty.

If we base it on that, you need to go to jail for what you have said here!

You are 12 yes? The word was Facist. If you like, your librarian or English teacher can help you learn to use a dictionary.

Oh, Duck, same goes for you
    .

    Donaldd
Sorry pal, didn't realize you were a comrade in arms against the savage horde or brainwashed idjits around here.

Husker Jeff, props for getting the name and all but, this isn't an anti-gay thing. I leave the gay bashing to Republicans (funny how quickly you all flip-flopped on the gays = evil thing). This is about a pederast. Foley was sending messages to 16 year old boys. I don't know where you get your information from. Is Billy O'LIEly at it again. Still dude, you like Lovecraft so there is hope.

And Brian R. Please, oh please, bring an argument to the big people's table. Who did Clinton rape? When? And why is he a sleezeball? And what does it have to do with Foley and the fact that Ann Coulter is a sleazy propogandist?

For god's sake are Republicans programmed to respond "Bill Clinton" to every argument. Folks, it's kind of pathetic.

    Yogsoggoth
Are you actually a dem/lib, or are you really an undercover rep/con posing as a dem/lib and spewing your homophobic, sexist bigotry and inane arguments to make dem/libs look like arrogantly ignorant morally bankrupt idiots?

If the latter, kudos on a job well done!

    Can't stop the bus now.
La Reina Picara writes: Just listened to the installation of a new sub-committee to investigate "subject matter", which I assume has to mean "predators" in Congress, with special attention given to gays (obviously).
My hairs are standing on end!!!! Before this is over, I think the Demos are going to regret not having handled this in a more quiet manner. Now they are going to have all the gays (open and closeted)investigated.

I guess the moral of the story is "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it."
    ----------------------------------------------

Wonder who is going to come up on the short end now? Anyone see that team of "Document Destroyer" guys showed up at Reid's office this morning? Twenty two guys in white jumpssuits - if they had capes it would have looked like an Elvis Convention.

    Cowboy. You got it
That is where we are heading. Impeach Bush because he supported Hastert. Impeach Hillary because she supported the National Medical care program and because she called someone a lousy jew a few years ago. Impeach every one who disagrees with you based on the political differences.

It started with Nixon. When you saw you got him, you went after Reagan and Bush. When finally you got your guy in, he got the same treatment. Now you are after his replacement.

Is this REALLY where you think the country should go? Should we just set up a standing committee on impeaching opponents?

Ahhh, the last resort of the...
truly pathetic. Mock the spelling of someone who is typing real fast and not really profreading. But, hey, if it makes you feel better about the fact that you are member of the traitor party and you swallow propoganda without every fact checking, more power to you.

And really, the Drudge Report is reporting that it was all just a joke. I guess I have to believe that because Matt (blame the children) Drudge would never print a lie or a talking point from Karl Rove. After all, he is such a respected and honest journalist.

But hey lightning can strike so...

    CNN. Nope.
    ABC. Nope.
    FAUXnews. Nope.
    MSNBC. Nope.

hmmm, seems to mee Drudge is doing what he does best. Bending over for a Karl Rove High hard one.

    Well, Yogzie, since you asked
Clinton raped Juanita Broaddrick and Katherine Willey.

    Yoggi, yoggi, yoggi
    There you go again.
    1. ABC left the name of the page in their web site and a blogger found it. The page is now 21 and was 18 at the time of the messages. Unless you feel that the age of consent needs to be raised to 21, he is not a pederast.
    2. It has just been released by 2 friends of the page that he is not gay and the IMs were just jokes that they passed around until they got in the wrong hands.
    3. Bill Clinton was accused of rape of Juanita Broderick. This case was not brought due to the statute of limitations and not from lack of evidence.
    4. You obviously are a homophobe and a sexist. I support my friends who are glbt in life and on this site. You throw it around as an insult. It is not an insult if it is true. If it is false, it is a lie and a reflection on what you think is evil and wrong.

Call me a homophobe will you.
I'm for allowing same sex marriages. I'm for gays in the military with none of this don't ask don't tell nonsense. So hands in the air all you "enlightened" Ann Coulter readers, whose with me. Let's start a letter writing campaign to get equal rights for all gay Americans. Or is all this talk about here just talk.

    BTW, Yogzie, don't bother...
... with the standard Lefty moron-response of "where's your proof" and all that BS.

To pre-empt you, where's YOUR proof that there's anything to this Foley stuff? (BTW, interesting that currently-breaking news is indicating this whole flap may be just political dirty tricks by the Soros crowd. Wouldn't that be embarrassing for your side?).

You want the details on Drop-Trou's rapescapades, just do a search on either Willey's or Broaddrick's names, and there are all the sordid details.

    Matt Drudge
ABC compares him to Walter Cronkite. You say he is not respected. Hmmmm.
    http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2514276&page=1

    I call you a homophobe
Because you talk like one. Sure, you want to support the faceless "them". But your choice of insult talks about you. If you called them n*gg*rs, I would call you a racist. If you call them Neocons, I would call you a Democrat. I don't pick your insults and your viewpoint. You do and you show it with every insult you throw.

Anyone else feel the need to shower?

Yogsoggoth on this thread is like a skunk in the living room.

Keep spraying Yogi. You prove our points and do more to lend support to conservative values than I can.

You say Clinton was accused of rape...
that does not make him guilty of it. He was also accused of Whitewater (did nothing wrong), accused of murdering (by wacko rethugs) of killing Vince Foster, and a myriad other things. Yuo folks will grasp at any straw. Pathetic.

    You mean
the same ABC that ran The Path to Propoganda which essentially rewrites 9/11 to blame it all on Clinton. Now there is a reliable source. And please, educate me....

why do you think I am a homophobe. What exactly did I say. Was it gauche to point out that Ann Coulter is really a man.

    Yogzie: you're an idiot
Yes, I called you a name. You earned it. Your intellectual inconsistency and situational ethics are beyond belief. You sound like a schizophrenic. At that, I think I just needlessly insulted schizophrenics.

    BrianR
Prove it big guy. Point out my intellectual inconsistency and my "beyond belief" situation ethics. How am I schizophrenic.

Ann Coulter is evil and a propogandist.

Republicans are corrupt and play conservative America for votes and then sell out their interests to big business.

    Conservatives blame Clinton for everything.

Conservatives wanted to amend the constitution to ban gay marriage a few months ago and now you are all worried about the rights of Mark Foley.

    WHo is schizophrenic here?

    hey Donaldd
    Americans don't torture.

    Except when they do.

    Soggy youth
mAnn Coulter - I like that. You call her mAnn because she has more cajones than the metros on the left. Face it - she scares the crap out of you.

    Donaldd
How righteous and redeeming of you, not to mention, also adding such credence to your arguments, to point out that Ann Coulter is a "Wh0re" and, therefore, a hypocrit for pointing out dem/lib hypocrisy and moral bankruptcy. It would be so much better if Ann Coulter showed even a scintilla of the class, tolerance, charitable good will, and integrity you consistently demonstrate with your posts.

    Yogzie: Prove it!?!
Didn't you read anything I wrote earlier, or is English your 45th language or what?

You sound like a 5 year old: "Prove it, nanner nanner"

Brother! Everyone on hear has been tearing your idiotic posts to shreds, and you go wandering down the road as if nothing's going on around you. You shouldn't be let out of your house without a leash; you might hurt yourself.

Clean out your ears. You may want to repeat yourself endlessly, but I would guess the rest of us don't.

And, no, the Goebbels tactic of repeating BS endlessly until it becomes the truth doesn't work, at least not here, bud.

    Donald Duck and Yoggi torture!
Bush tortures by allowing loud music and uncomfortable positions. Donald and Yoggi torture logic and call evil names to people. This all tortures me. Isn't playing with words fun?

    Man! Yogzie and the Duck
    At the same time.

We are definitely wading in the shallow end of the gene pool today.

    cutter bench
Because I said that we are all sinners, dems and repubs alike, you think I was defending democrats? I was pointing out that a scandal is a scandal, no matter what party, it is still disgusting, and as the party that espouses family values, I think republicans should decry any and all who are involved, whether they are dems or repubs. And sorry to burden anyone, but my source about how the military felt and feels about the civilian administrators of the CPA, and contracters, comes from my life-long Republican Iraq War vet friend, and his buddies, who all served at least two tours each, so I can't help but believe their on the ground experience over some talking head. If they had said things were going fine, victory is in sight, the war is being run well, then I would have believed that too. But they didn't.
Personally, I am against partial-birth abortion, have two children, and for many years did volunteer work at a children with special needs center. I have always been very protective of children, whether they are mine or not.
Cutter, you seem to put everyone in two camps, red vs blue, but what about the purple camp? Are they any less citizens of your country because they hold views that are a combination? Is vitriol and hatred all you can think about anyone who holds even slightly different views than yours? Which of course is your right as a citizen of a democracy...

    Everytime Ann
You nail the hypocrisy of the democrats. If only they could be believable when they feign concern over salacious behavior. It's all too obvious they are not.

It is like the mirror universe
in Star Trek. Logic has been turned perfectly on to itself. My posts are being ripped to shreds (by half-wits that can only bleat "Clinton did it"), torture is okay (coming next year to Six Flags Water Park - WaterBoarding Adventure), and proof should never be used to win an argument (after all, if we waited for proof, we wouldn't be Iraq right now).

It's pretty scary really, everyone here sounds exactly like the folks at Huffingtonpost. Except everyone here is wrong.

Donaldd, don't be so hard on Husker Jeff, he is after all following in the footsteps of Coulter and other rightwing propogandists - misquoting to support his fallacious argument.

    Donaldd
"It takes one to know one."

Haha! Got me there! I honestly can't think of an appropriate response to that.

So goodbye. I'm pulling up my hooks, since I'm tired of fishing for trolls today.

Wallowing in the shallow endof the
gene pool. Ouch that hurts. Considering this is a Conservative website, that's pretty freaking shallow. I think that put-down is going to leave a bruise.

Man, my genes are shallower than a Conservatives. I guess that makes me

    sea plankton...

    or

    dog feces.

Man, I think I'm tearing up. My genes are shallower than folks that read Coulter.

    Soggy and Duck
I think you 2 boys have had too much Captain Crunch today. Time to change into some clean jammies - I hear the medication cart rolling your way now. It will be all better in just a little while.

    Backlash, BIG TIME!
The truth is beginning to surface on this Foley political gamble by the radical lefist. Go to Drudge Report. Exposure is near. By the way for Liberal Lefist to call someone a liar and Hypocrite, is like Slick Willie saying "I didn't have sex with that woman, Monica Lewensky." Polls are showing Republicans are now ahead of the Democrats and will win the House and Senate in Nov. This is due to Liberals attempt to misrespresent the Foley issue.

Maybe if they dose me hard enough
I'll start believing that George Bush is a great president, Iraq isn't a training ground for terrorists, New Orleans couldn't have been predicted, there is no housing bubble, and we still have a Constitution.

Of course, that much medication would probably kill me.

Oh well folks, this troll is going back under the bridge.

It has been educational in a "I can't believe people are such nutters sort of way".

And sorry Ann for calling you a man. It was in bad taste and a tad bit immature.

But, I still think you are evil.

    For a big misunderstanding...
This sure has resulted in some harsh punishment. So now Drudge says "it's all a big joke gone awry", but if so, why then did Foley resign? No "oops, my bad, it'll never happen again"? Why hasn't the PAGE come forth to say it was a joke? Why has Foley decided to check himself into alcohol rehab after the story broke? This seems more like GOP damage control than some harmless prank gone bad.

And as for cordonbleu, goblue, whatever... It is no more wrong for homosexuals to teach Boy Scouts than it is for heterosexual men to be gynecologists, or high school teachers, or anything else, unless you believe that homosexuals are walking around constantly thinking of their next conquest.

And then Pauky entered the room
and started spewing the most insane crap I have ever heard. The Republicans are going to win. Sorry folks, even FAUX news says the Foley issue is a political looser for Republicans.

House Republican candidates will suffer massive losses if House Speaker Dennis Hastert remains speaker until Election Day, according to internal polling data from a prominent GOP pollster, FOX News has learned.

"The data suggests Americans have bailed on the speaker," a Republican source briefed on the polling data told FOX News. "And the difference could be between a 20-seat loss and 50-seat loss."

    Yogzie: well...
You wrote: "Man, my genes are shallower than a Conservatives. I guess that makes me

    sea plankton...

    or

    dog feces"

Gotta hand it to you. When you're right, you're right.

    And...
The Drudge article is just crap. Someone knows a guy who knew someone else who says that he heard that Foley was goaded into....

    Come on sheep, wake up.

And with that, the troll is actually going to go back under his bridge.

    Yogz!
Thought you promised us you'd drag your troll self back under the bridge!

    More Leftist perfidy!

    Well BrianR
you all didn't give me much to work with. If my genes are shallower then this crew's well...

I am hoping for sea plankton but, face it, this group reads Coulter and doesn't believe in Evoltion so I guess I am closer to the dog feces.

But, everytime I try to leave
you say something stupid so i can't go. It's too much fun poking you with a stick.

    Yogzie: LOL
You wrote: "so I guess I am closer to the dog feces."

As Dirty Harry said: "A man's got to know his limitaions."

    Yogsoggoth
Go back to reading H.P. Lovecraft stories, or whatever you got that name from. You add nothing of value to this thread, and your transphobic insults of Ann Coulter are utterly uncalled for. I'm a transgendered woman, as most people here know, and I would be insulted by your innuendos if they weren't so sophmoric and schoolyard derived. Go play at the Daily Kos...they go for that over there.

    Another problem for the dims
    Michael Gaynor column
    Yes to bipartisan polygraphing!

    October 5, 2006

"Democrat House Minority Leader and Speaker aspirant Nancy Pelosi and Representative Rahm Emanuel, Chairman of the House's Democrat Campaign Committee, refused a request by a Republican Congressman to take a polygraph test designed to ascertain whether they knew about now former Republican Congressman Mark Foley's misconduct (perhaps criminal misconduct) with respect to at least one Congressional page before it became public knowledge."

Wonder what they'll do when they are subpoenaed?

Post of the day's honors goes to La Reina Picara, October, 05, 2006 2:35 PM

    Yogsoggoth - Ignorance Personified

Your characterization of Ann Coulter pretty much personifies everything else you write -- unadulterated garbage.

Yogsoggoth writes, "I mean, if you look closely enough, you can see they didn't airbrush out the Adam's Apple in its picture."

How old are you? You've never seen a woman with an Adam’s apple? Perhaps your penchant for Rubenesque woman has jaded your sensibilities?

Here's a little enlightenment for Your Ignorance. “[W]omen do not appear to have an Adam's apple, although, of course, they do have one. Generally, women have higher voices than men: this means they have shorter vocal cords and a smaller larynx. Their larynx is just not as noticeable. Also, women generally tend to have a greater percentage of body fat than men do. This fat hides the larynx and gives the neck a smoother appearance.” (Excerpted from amos.Indiana.edu)

You come on this thread spraying like a mad skunk and we're supposed to take you seriously? Crawl back under your rock and come back in a trillion years when you've finally evolved.

    Lets see
. He resigned because his base would not re-elect an open Homosexual. Not right or fair, but true.
. The Drudge report is respected and useful to lots of people because it is mainly links to news stories from other sources.
. Edmund has not come forward because he is a conservative Republican and knows that this has just screwed him up for life. He just got a lawyer.
. Whether this is a winner or a loser for a party is too early to say. If this turns out like the National Guard lies, it will be a winner for the Repubs. If there is more to it and criminal charges are made, for the Dems.
. Can you tell me why the Democrats in Congress are blocking Louis Freeh to investigate improper actions by all congressmen? Could there be lots of other skeletons in this closet, some with D next to their name?

    according to demos...
    all republicans have to do
(and I hear that libs can prove this)
is to further lower gas prices.
You know the strategy; where Cheney et al are in a basement pulling strings!
It's the same type of game plan as the one where Repubs are holding Osama for the perfect time, and "capture" him on some strategic day.
All to get Foley off of the front page!
    Repubs---that's genius!
    I can just hear demos,
"man, you got us; how did you do that"

    Now its funny
    Husker Jeff writes:
. Edmund has not come forward because he is a conservative Republican and knows that this has just screwed him up for life. He just got a lawyer.
    ---------------------------------------

Not just any lawyer - one of the best that one can buy - in Oklahoma. He knows this can get ugly if it goes the wrong way.

In two days we'll be hearing the democrats crying about how Rove engineered this to make them look bad. In the mean time the shredders will be working over time and hard drives will be replaced all over Capitol Hill with an open ended Ethics Committee Investigation being conducted. Wonder how many freezers are being hauled out this afternoon?

Iloveit,me : Yeah. You gotta love it!
The Left wack jobs all have these wild-eyed theories, as you wrote, where Cheney and HALLIBURTON! are going to manipulate oil prices, the already-captured Osama will be paraded in front of the cameras, the stock market will rebound, house values shoot up, etc., etc.

All to influence the outcome of the elections.

Well, he11! If the Repubs have that much power, wouldn't it just be simpler to rig the outcome of the elections, without all the rigamarole?

    Duck. It's Freeh, not Freech
Louis Freeh. He's former head of the FBI, appointed by Drop-Trou.

But I'm sure you'll be able to find some way to make him a Republican pawn.

    baseballdr: Nah
I dubbed him Donaldd(uck), ot the Duck.

Have you noticed that, like the cartoon character, he's hard to understand under the best of circumstances, and that when he gets really riled up all he spews is incomprehensible gibberish?

    Hence, the Duck.

    Duck: LOL
Thanks for not letting me down.

Nice post, good thinking, i take careful note of your advice. Can't guarantee i'll follow it because things are so confused i don't know what the heck i'm going to be doing, but i'm grateful for a new slant that hadn't occurred to me before.
    MikeR
I have a certain acquiescence with your criticism of Ann. She is a bit of a lightweight who sacrifices gravitas for the bon mot. But she is funny, she drives the left into near apoplexy, and she does hit one out of the park once in a while, like when she led the charge against that friend Bush tried to put on the SC. In the meantime, Ann is a pleasant(to me) right wing counterpart of Al Franken, Moore, Jackson, Sharpton et al, who make a living preaching to the left wing choir. Surely the right has room for one Ann. And i'm not convinced she would change spots either.

    BrianR
Nah. Simple rigging is the DEM style. We vast RW conspirators being much more powerful, don't have to settle for the easy way. We can go for the complex schemes since our code of omerta guarantees the silence of the thousands required to sabotage the towers. After all, what's the good of controlling all the world's oil if you can't rig prices to get our pawns re-elected. As for O Ben L, i hear he's still trying to grow his beard back after we cut it off to disguise him as we spirited him out of Kabul in 2002. He's our ace.. i mean arab in the hole, now that we used up Saddam. But we have to wait til the beard grows back. Every one who sees him without it thinks he's Keith Carradine.

    Canuck Cate:

It would appear as though the coldest thing in Canada isn’t the weather… Brrrrrr. Unless you’ve been posting under another pseudonym, I have been nothing but civil towards you. Why the chilly reception?

I did however, have to laugh when I returned to your post. Knowing the scripture verse (Matthew 7:5) you quoted, I had initially thought you put the greater culpability on Republicans, but you actually reversed the language -- effectively putting it (greater culpability) on the Democrats. Was your twist intentional? If so, I apologize for misreading you.

Insofar as your questions, “Are they any less citizens of your country because they hold views that are a combination? Is vitriol and hatred all you can think about anyone who holds even slightly different views than yours? I do not hate Democrats; I hate what they stand for. There’s a big difference. Without going into all the details, one of the strongest planks in the Democrats’ platform is abortion; abortion on demand from conception to gestation. That is neither red nor blue it is black and white for me.

It’s admirable that you’ve done many years of volunteer work for children with special needs.

    Au Revoir

    That was fast
Donaldd writes: The source who in July gave news media Rep. Mark Foley’s (R-Fla.) suspect e-mails to a former House page says the documents came to him from a House GOP aide.

All this is missing is the Carl Rove connection.

    BrianR, Cutter, Husker et-al

Boy have I been missing all the fun or what?!

You know, now that the truth is coming out about the age of the "victim" in this "pedophile" story, it is VERY FUNNY to watch the Libs run like cockroaches when the lights are turned on!

Based upon the posts I've read by Yogi and the Duck, had Foley been IMing THEM, then he would have been guilty of pedophilia!

Hey... just checked my watch. Get those hats on boys! Drive-by Kim is due for another swoop-in and load-drop anytime!!!

    Pistol: LOL
Watch out, bro, you're planting ideas in what passes for minds in the tinfoil hat crowd.

    Hey, baseballdr
who do you like for pennant???

    BrianR;

    I agree about the elections-
But you know libs have an answer:
I'm reminded of the out and out wisdom of "voter fraud"!
Voter Fraud showed up in 2000 in Florida.
In 2004, it miraculously made it's way to Ohio. Now that's vision.
But notice where it didn't show up...when Gore lost Arkansas and Tennessee! VF??I tell ya...don't try to expalin VF-it has incredible powers!!!

Primus: Yeah, it's been a riot...
... here today. This has definitely been THE place to hang out.

I don't know about Kim's daily guano delivery. I think it's still a few more hours yet. She always seems to swoop in about 11PM - 12AM EDT.

She's transportation-challenged. The broom only works at night.

    ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK
FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY

According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives.

    http://www.drudgereport.com/page.htm

    iloveit,me: Hahaha
    You're right! I hadn't thought of that.

Well, when you're a part of the vast RW conspiracy (thanks, Pistol) you can pretty much move that fraud wherever you have to, on a moment's notice.

Karl Jr. the Roasted Liberal Restaurant
Oh my, over played is an understatement. The Katyusha rockets of truth will rain terror on you liberals and I can only say, Karl Jr. has opened a new restaurant.

That is right, numb nut, roasted democrats are the main course. And think of it, a God Fearing, squirrel eating, gun owning redneck republican from the great state of Oklahoma has struck down your only issue, and the great democrat plan promised since last year.

Strike he did, Karl Rove Sr., the master of politics, and the democrats bogeyman, has a prodigy, Karl Jr.

Karl Jr. has set up unwitting democrats with a teenage prank that has shown the light of truth on the democrat smear campaign and the cockroaches are running for cover.

Now the democrats have alienated there major constituency the gay lobby, lend support to the Boy Scouts exclusion of gays and pissed off the Christians.

Why did Madame Pelosi vote 5 times for the pedophile Stubbs for chairmanships? Why is she against Louis Freeh's appointment to conduct an investigation into the page program sex scandal?

Why do the democrats call for only republicans to testify under oath? The democrats, who've obviously fell for the trap, in the form of a teenage prank have lost their big issue?

Man I've told you before, the democrats are over playing this. God bless America, what is your plan for dealing with the terrorist, oh I remember, "CUT and RUN". Gee, we are back to reality now.

Hay BS detector, I'm still trolling for morons, you bit last time, how about it?

Karl Rove has prodigies, God you democrats are stupid.

    BrianR

"She's transportation-challenged. The broom only works at night."

    Oh my gawd! LOTFLMAO!!!

    How's things in SoCal?

    G.I. Joe....

Your 7:00 PM post falls into the category of "wish I had said that!"

    Great comment!

    Try Rush's thoughts
Rush L summed up the whole affair in my mind. All the hoopala abut Foley doesn't mean a thing abut the election. About the state that the Libs have forced on the country yes, but not about this election.

"Let me ask you again, what does Mark Foley and all of this attention being paid to his instant messages and so forth, what does that have to do with the key issues of our times? What does Mark Foley have to do with keeping us safe at home? What does Mark Foley have to do with winning the war on jihadism? What does Mark Foley have to do with keeping our economy growing? What does this whole Foley episode have to do with putting more money in your pocket and not Washington's?
"You know, Mark Foley, had to have a mandatory rejoinder, what he did was inexcusable. But whatever it is he did, it has nothing to do with the issues that shape the future of the country over which most of you traditionally go to the polls and vote. But Foley has everything to do with your turning out or your not turning out, and their Contract with America is to discourage conservative turnout, period. That's it!
"That is all they have! You really couldn't even say that that's all they have to offer. They're not offering anything. They're threatening."

    Ed

    Primus :-)
Keepin' up the good fight, bro.

But it does help to be able to visit this site, to remind me that there are actually other sane people in the world.

Sometimes, I really do feel like my community is an island in an ocean of insanity. Then, when I went to the mall the other day, there was a table with some people (I think) trying to register Dems for the vote. And me without a single Molotov in sight.

    Donaldd,
Kimberly left her drool cup at your house when she was over watching Olbermann, and she wants it back. She says to bring it with you tonight when you all meet at Yogsoggoth's house to review the latest batch of Dem talking points.

    BrianR :-)

Yes.... it is good to come here as a reminder, although you have it much worse than I. At least most of the people living around me are conservatives!

It's also good as a reminder of the moonbats' talking points and their delusions.

Shaping up to be a very interesting election, I'd say!

Gotta run for now but will check in later to see if Drive-By Kim flies in!

    Keep fighting, Bro!

    Donald;cutter;et al
All of this just proves you don't really belong on this blog w/ people who are ethical.

    Husker Jeff
Why do you continually refer to liberal posters on this blog as radical Christians? You will end up offending people that are on the conservative side.

    Cutter Bench
Cannuck Kate comes down here from Canada to straighten out our poor country, all the while calling our Republic a democracy. As for her information on the Iraq war, don't know who her sources are even though she claims 2 friends who served 2 tours each. My son did 2 combat tours in Iraq both in the infantry, not in the "rear with the gear". There have been many Marines to visit my house over the last 3 years, one just a couple months ago on pre-deployment leave for his 3rd tour. They have all unanimously supported our efforts in Iraq.

I agree with you, I do not hate dems, just what they stand for. On second thought, well yes I do.

    NRALifer
    donald also misspelled judgement.

    Oh, one more thing
Since you democrats have finally seen the light, according to your own indignation based on the Foley scandal, the Boy scouts are right to exclude homosexuals, male homosexuals are pedophiles, the democrats want to get at the truth, they are doing it for the children etc...

Why is Madame Pelosi against Louis Freeh heading up the investigation? After all, Louis Freeh was the Clinton's FBI director. What is wrong with the Clinton's former FBI director?

Could it be that Karl Jr. has blown her cover and she will be implicated in the manufactured scandal and now the democrat skeletons are busting out of the closet?

Could it be the democrats have exposed themselves as opportunists that take advantage of forged documents, oops, Dan Rather's trick, I mean manufactured evidence for political gain?

No it is worse, she and her cohorts do not find the withholding of evident of child exploitation and abuse a crime.

Pelosi and her cohorts are attempting to smear republicans with charges of negligence in dealing with an alleged homosexual pedophile.

Now it turns out the individual whom the charges have been based was 18 years old making it just your average homosexual pervert not pedophilia. Additionally, the evidence against the alleged homosexual predator is manufactured according to the alleged victim.

Who among us but the most gullible liberals can trust the future of our country to people who can be fooled by a teenager's prank? How can such esteemed leaders of a political party be duped by a lowly redneck kid from Oklahoma?

The reason, they are irresponsible to a criminal degree. Withholding evidence of possible crimes to exploit a perceived political advantage is despicable.

Hypocrisy in the matter pales in comparison to the gullibility of the morons, including the Clinton, which has given us the nuclear armed North Korea. This is only one of many problems our country faces while we are distracted by the final unveiling of the "democrat plan" for America.

There are many more issues which the "democrat plan" has not addressed but it appears they might not be for homosexual marriage the way they paint homosexual males as pedophiles.

By the way North Korea is on the verge of testing an atom bomb. Thank you Jimmy Carter, Madame Albright, Sandy Buger and lets not forget Bubba whom we all own this debt of gratitude.

All you moronic democrats, please respond. I have read many of your posts, they are fascinating. I await your intellectually astute reply which will only provide further evidence to the shear stupidity which you democrats exhibit on a daily basis.

See y'all democrats don't understand the way us right wing Christians think, I don't care if you out the homosexual republicans as has been threatened by operatives in your party today.

Most of us God fearing, gun toting, squirrel eating redneck republicans don't care if their bunghole is as big as their hat, so long as they love America more than our enemies, unlike most of you democrat party members.

After voting for Gerry Stubbs, the convicted homosexual pedophile five times for house chairmanships in the past, why has Pelosi withdrawn her support of the homosexual pedophile position?

Here is the big question of the day. What did she know and when did she know it? Nancy Pelosi needs to resign!

I came across this and had to share...
A little bit of fun with homophobic Dems who want to score points...

Dem Activists: We have found a f@g! May we burn him!
    Congressional Republican Staffer: I’m not a F@g I’m not a F@g!
Sir Bedevere: But you are dressed as one
Congressional Republican Staffer: *They* dressed me up like this!
    Crowd: We didn’t! We didn’t…
Activist 1: Well, we did do the leather cap.
    Sir Bedevere: The cap?
Activist 1: And the buttless chaps, but he is a F@g!
Crowd: Yeah! Burn him! Burn him!
Sir Bedevere: Did you dress him up like this?
    Activist 1: No!
    Activist 2: No!
    Activist 3: No!
    Activist 1: Yes!
    Activist 2: Yes!
    Activist 1: Yeah a bit.
    Activist 3: A bit!
    Activist 2: A bit
Activist 1: But he has got a lisp!
Sir Bedevere: What makes you think he’s a F@g?
Activist 3: Well, he turned me into a Secular humanist!
    Sir Bedevere: A Secular Humanist?
Activist 1: [meekly after a long pause] … I got better.
    Crowd: [shouts] Burn him anyway!
Sir Bedevere: There are ways of telling whether he is a f@g.
Activist 1: Are there? Oh well, tell us.
Sir Bedevere: Tell me. What do you do with f@gs?
    Activist 1: Burn them.
Sir Bedevere: And what do you burn, apart from F@gs?
    Activist 1: More F@gs.
    Activist 2: Wood.
Sir Bedevere: Good. Now, why do F@gs burn?
    Activist 3: …because they’re made of… wood?
Sir Bedevere: Good. So how do you tell whether he is made of wood?
Activist 1: Build a highway rest area out of him.
Sir Bedevere: But can you not also build highway rest areas out of stone?
    Activist 1: Oh yeah.
Sir Bedevere: Does wood sink in water?
Activist 1: No, no, it floats!… It floats! Throw him into the pond!
Sir Bedevere: No, no. What else floats in water?
    Activist 1: Bread.
    Activist 2: Subpeonas.
    Activist 3: Very small rocks.
    Activist 1: Lattes.
    Activist 2: Shiraz.
    Activist 3: Slime.
    Activist 1: Mud.
    Activist 2: Churches.
    Activist 3: Mary Jo Kopechne!
    King Arthur: A Duck.
    Sir Bedevere: …Exactly. So, logically…
Activist 1: If he weighs the same as a duck… he’s made of wood.
    Sir Bedevere: And therefore…
    Activist 2: …A F@g!

    cat trapper: Canuck Cate

I knew her argument on the "resigned and retired military leaders" was weak and just wanted her to provide documentation. When she referenced her "friend and his buddies" I didn't see the need to point out the painfully obvious.

I happened to have had the privilege of attending the ‘73’ West Point commencement exercise. The graduate is now a three star. Coincidentally, my wife and I are spending the weekend with his brother and family. My daughter is a Navy Chief and served in the North Arabian last year and my Son-in-law is Chief of the Watch on a submarine – L.A. Class. I have a fairly good idea as to how a representative few of the active duty military leaders feel about Rummy, et al. Suffice it to say, they are all thankful for our current administration. The foregoing sentiment however, despite how good it may make me feel, is anything but a scientific study. So I will refrain from stating unequivocally that the number of active duty military leaders that have shown support for Rumsfeld, Feith,Bremer, and Wolfkowitz far outnumbers the one’s crying foul. That is, at least until I can support my contention.

    God bless President Bush.

    Cat Trapper
Why I call the libs radical Christians.
    1. The libs say that only people who hate gay people are radical Christians.
    2. The libs say radical Christians are evil.
    3. The libs demonstrate that they hate gay people.
    4. The libs must be radical Christians
    5. The libs must be evil.

    QED

My opinion is that some Christians, Muslims, atheists, agnostics, etc. hate gays. Some love them. Some think they are sinners, some don't.

But I was trying to rub their noses in the hypocracy of their positions.

    The Real Problem
isn't the hypocritical dems or the possibility that this story was timed for maximum impact on the Nov elections. The problem is that social conservatives, who make up the essential base of the Republican Party, are horrified and disgusted by so many of the factual elements of the story, not the least of which is the inability of the GOP leadership to look anything other than clueless, inept, or complicit in Foley's activities over the last 11 years. Hastert, Boehner, Reynolds, et al can't even get their stories and timelines straight. No one can credibly claim that republicans are any worse than dems when it comes to hypocricy, scandals and coverups. But the problem is, the election strategy of the GOP has been to rely heavily on the very voters who are most repulsed by this story. This is the price to be paid for touting republicans as the party with the monopoly on morality, and for the party's over-dependence on the far right to keep them in power.

    What Does GOP Stand For?
For years I was never certain what the letters GOP stood for...It's now clear Guardians Of Pedophiles.

    Well Shannon:
As you can very well see, no one took your bait and it’s been half a day since you’ve posted; clearly proving that we do not prey on children. Although it’s admirable for you to be taking the initiative to post on a political blog (at such a young age) you may in the future want to consider the context of the above conservative posts before making wholesale assaults on a their political group’s character. Mind you, it’s understandable that youth lends itself to impetuousness and well, youthful indiscretion. I’m sure you thought your misuse of the GOP acronym was funny; you and your girlfriends probably giggled yourselves silly? Am I right? The thing you should also try to realize though is that most of us (conservatives) find this to be a very serious matter. Its little girls like you we’re trying to protect from bad people who do the sort of thing Mr. Foley has been accused of doing. Although you may think it’s OK for you to be posting on an adult site I would ask that you talk to your Mommy before doing this again. Thank you Shannon, now run along and play like a good girl.

    Christian Certitude and Hate
George Bush is the first American President expressing Christian certitude. God even speaks to George, and as he relates God told him to go to war with Iraq. If true, presumably God would have also told him how to win the war without all the mistakes, suffering and death.

Here at home, Christian certitude is present in the President's politics of division and hate. Nonbelievers of Bush’s Christian values and policies are viewed with contempt, instead of as fellow citizens in a pluralistic democracy. Civility has gone out of our civilization, and now this type of Christian hate is completely out of the closet with Ann Coulter’s latest book on 9-11 widows, which has been repudiated by few if any on the right who claim to practice the Christian message of love. Coulter’s theme is always the same: hate the bogeyman.

    Husker Jeff - Radical Christians

There is a difference between Radical Christians and Fundamental Christians. As I see it a Radicalist fights for change. A Fundamentalist seeks constancy

Radical Christians are represented by that 'Baptist Church' in Kansas that planned on picketing the funerals of the murdered Amish children. Radicals hate people and try to change things through the power of Government to match their world view. They attempt to convert people to their way on thinking through coercion and guile.

    Fundamental Christians are t
