Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

I suppose we'll have to wait yet another election cycle for all those "Scoop Jackson Democrats" to come roaring back in and give us a Democratic Party that does not consistently root against America.

On the bright side, it is now official: Democrats are not merely confused patriots, so blinded by their hatred for President Bush that they cannot see their way to supporting any aspect of the war on terrorism. Would that they were mere opportunistic traitors!

As some of us have been trying to tell you, Democrats don't oppose the war on terrorism because they hate Bush: They hate Bush because he is fighting the war on terrorism. They would hate him for fighting terrorists even if he had a "D" after his name. They would hate Bernie Sanders if he were fighting a war on terrorism. In the past three decades, there have been more legitimate sightings of Big Foot than of "Scoop Jackson Democrats."

That's why Hillary Clinton has anti-war protestors howling at her public events. That's why she has drawn an anti-war primary opponent, Jonathan Tasini, who appears to believe that Israel is a terrorist state. If those rumors I've been hearing about a Hezbollah/Hamas/DNC merger are true, we might be in for a slightly longer fight.

In Tuesday's primary, Connecticut Democrats dumped Joe Lieberman, an 18-year incumbent, because he supports the war on terrorism. This is the same Joe Lieberman who voted against all the Bush tax cuts, against banning same-sex marriage, against banning partial-birth abortion, against the confirmation of Judge Alito, against drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and in favor of the Kyoto accords. Oh yes, this was also the same Joe Lieberman who was the Democrats' own vice presidential candidate six years ago.

Despite all this, Connecticut Democrats preferred stalwart anti-war candidate Ned Lamont, great-nephew of Corliss Lamont, WASP plutocrat fund-raiser for Stalin. Lamont's main political asset is that he is a walking, breathing argument in favor of a massive inheritance tax. His plan for fighting the terrorists is to enact a single-payer government health plan and universal pre-K education programs. His goal is to unite the "cut" and "run" wings of his party into one glorious coalition.

The Democrats can hold it in for a few years, but eventually the McGovernite face of the Democratic Party reappears.

Lamont declared victory surrounded by Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Kim Gandy of the fanatically pro-abortion group known euphemistically as the "National Organization for Women."

Congresswoman Maxine Waters had parachuted into Connecticut earlier in the week to campaign against Lieberman because he once expressed reservations about affirmative action, without which she would not have a job that didn't involve wearing a paper hat. Waters also considers Joe "soft" on the issue of the CIA inventing crack cocaine and AIDS to kill all the black people in America.

Gandy's support for Lamont must have been a particularly bitter pill for Lieberman to swallow, inasmuch as he has long belonged to the world's smallest organization solely to satisfy bloodthirsty feminists like Gandy -- Orthodox Jews for Partial-Birth Abortion. (OJFPBA has just slightly more members than GBRFC, "Gay Black Republicans for Choice.")

To give you a snapshot of today's Democratic Party, in 2004, pollster Scott Rasmussen asked likely voters if they believed America was generally a fair and decent country and whether they believed the world would be a better place if more countries were like America.

Republicans agreed that America is generally fair and decent, 83 percent to 7 percent. Eighty-one percent agreed that the world would be a better place if more countries were like the United States.

By contrast, Democrats were nearly split, with only 46 percent agreeing that America is generally a fair and decent country, and with 37 percent saying America is not a generally fair and decent country. Only 48 percent of Democrats said they thought that the world would be a better place if more countries were like the United States.

Democrats constantly complain that the nation has never been so divided, but consider that half of them think the statement that America is a good country is a divisive remark.

So remember: When you vote Democratic, you're saying NO to mindless patriotism. This country isn't so great!

The free world, which is rapidly boiling down to us and Israel, is under savage attack. Treason is rampant in the country. True, Democrats hate Bush, but they would hate anybody who fights the war on terrorism. It is a hostile world, and there is now a real question about the will of the American people to survive.

How can the liberals fight a war
that they have yet to acknowledge exists? Slick Willie ignored what? 8 different attacks on American interests? And lobbed a few missiles and slapped a few hands in response. The Anti-war crowd refuses to believe Iraq has anything to do with the war on terrorism, and thinks we are giving Afghanistan a bye because we are distracted there dealing with Iraq. WRONG! We are letting the weasels there get bold and brave and comfortable sticking their heads out of their caves, and one day soon, the headlines will scream of action in Afghanistan.

Annie: Nutmeg State or Mega-nuts' State?

Although no fan of Lieberman, watching the events in Connecticut play out this past week has been like watching an episode of, "The Twilight Zone," or perhaps, a Bizarro version of “The Wizard of Oz,” with Gandy, Lamont, Jackson and Sharpton in the lead roles. Can this really be the future for the Democrats? Bizarre... How Bizarre…

The new party...
....Dembollahs or Hezbocrats?

Not Afghanistan
We're doing all we can in Afghanistan. But Bin Ladin is in Pakistan, and if we go there, we'll undermine Musharraf and throw Pakistan into civil war. There's no "free Pakistan" underground as there was in Afghanistan. We're just biding our time.

Can't wait
For the usual suspects to show up and and start screaming about how dare we question their patriotism. The only thing in doubt is whether they'll invoke "McCarthyism" first, or go straight to comparisons to the Third Reich...

Jimmy,
I'll go with Dembollahs. Or maybe Hamasollahcrats. Islamacrats?

You sure pegged them Ann!
It would be fun watching the Talicrats self-destruct if they didn't do so much damage to the country in the process. Ha! I think your suspicions about an Hezbollah/Hamas/DNC merger may be true. Their daily speeches and actions indicate their not FOR America!

Watching the Hezbocrats party (to use Jimmy Carter's reference) is like watching a scene from the movie Snake Pit. Mental patients milling around detached from reality.

I really thought Ann was losing it until
I went to the Americablog website and the Michael Moore websites for the very first time. She's right. They're freakin' crazy. No, I mean it! They sound like people at the max security ward at Bellvue Hospital who are overdue for their Thorazine shot. I have never seen so much paranoid delusion mixed in with anti-social psychosis anywhere before. As many fights as I've had with people here about being GLBT, nobody has ever asked me to leave the Republican Party. In fact, most people have been supportive of my presence, even if they disagree with my own beliefs. The Dems can't say the same thing. After what they did to Senator Lieberman, whom I respect a great deal, I can tell people which party is more diverse and tolerant and it doesn't start with "D". The senator should consider coming over. We always have room for people of intelligence and integrity. The Moonbats want sychophants.

Let Me Get This Straight & Narrow?
Gee, has it not been the case for the past two decades or so that any Republican/Conservative who argued against abortion on demand was considered a "one-issue" candidate? He/She was someone who could not be relied upon as a multi-dimensional, "balanced" person who could argue across the gamut of socio-economic matters, for instance, school busing, social promotion, and tax increases for anyone earning more than $50 grand a year.

Yet, lo and behold, here comes Myopic Lamont, and suddenly the war can indeed be the lone stick to waggle in front of the Connecticut constituents, never mind that decent but inept Joe L. is more lefty than Grove (that would be a baseball reference to those of you under a certain age).

How about "Dhimmicrats"?
Whenever I'm puzzled by what those on the far Left do or say (I resist the usurping of the useful and often admirable term "liberal" to solely describe Leftists), I simply remind myself of their overriding objective and motivator. No, it is not their anti-war stance; that is simply the most extreme manifestation of their single issue. Their single issue is egalitarianism of all people, things, and circumstances at all times. Thus, there are no "degrees" of right and wrong (if there even IS right or wrong) -- a close-minded Christian from the South is as scary as a bomb-wearing Muslim -- and Western/American culture, with its apparent superior functionality and opportunities for happiness and self-fulfillment as compared to other cultures around the world, must be dragged down or eliminated so that we're all equal, even if that means equally dreary and miserable. Who are we, after all, to have it better than others in the world?

Great Op-ed
On election day, 2004, I was on a plane ride home after a long deployment in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. At every stop the military transport made, we all ran from the plane to turn on the TV to see who won--Kerry or Bush? When NBC (we kept flipping between channels) finally announced that it looked like Bush had won, a Lt Col next to me commented, "Well, it looks like we won't have to hijack the plane and head back to the fight after all."

My point is this: Nearly every military member supports what we're doing here. I say "here" because two years later I find myself deployed once again. I volunteered to be here because I know what I'm doing is worth the separation from my wife and kids, though it's painful at times. And the Democrats' talk of victory this year reminds me of their hubris from 2004, and we saw where that got them. I love to see the way Ann clearly shows how the Democrat party is slowly destroying itself, and then I thank God for it. It means my fellow brothers- and sisters-in-arms and I might get another two years to try and finish the job we started five years ago. God bless the USA.

The vote
At least in the old days--1998--the Dems in the Senate would vote to fight terrorism and tyranny. I believe it was 98-0 to authorize regime change in Iraq and authorize bombing Iraq and Afghanistan per President Clinton's request. Now I know all you cynics will just say that that was a political move to change the subject from his Lewinsky problem. But notice that instead of petty politics the Repubs voted unanimously to support the Pesident. What does that tell you?

I have been reading Kos and HuffPo and the posters mostly offer childish rants and vile disgusting name calling. The articles are a mixed bag--some are OK--most are silly. The conservatives are shills I believe who are just as vile. If not shills then we don't want them. But I am looking for defense of progressive
viewpoints that can be discussed by adults on line. Where's a guy to go? Any ideas?

Shel, thank you for your service
This civilian is grateful.

I disagree with all they stand for ...
But we must take notice that these kooks accomplished something:

1. They got an extremist nominated!

2. They may have effectively redefined Joe L. as a sort of moderate, maybe even right of center democrat.

3. Thus they have moved what many perceive to be the middle a little more left.

Thanks Shel
For your remarkable patriotism and service! You, not the anti-American Democrats, are what this country is really all about! We are grateful to you and your fellow military.

That's the point
Once again, Coulter nails it! (and the left) I mean, my God -- why was there even a "Democratic response" by Reid and Pelosi to the news of the terror bust? Were the bombs intended for those airplanes only going to dimember the "neocon cabal" among the passenger list? If you voted "for the war, before you voted against it"(or other nonsensical lefty stances), would you have sprouted wings and landed safely on earth, whilst the "warmongers" on board perished? A minority party that feels it must "respond" to the news of catching terrorists by criticizing those doing the catching in order to appeal to its' base has a base full of obstructionists and traitors-- bent on America's demise.

But Don't Call Them Un-Patriotic
I don't remember that poll at the time but I think it really illustrates the difference between the left and the right more than any individual issue. Flat out, the right overwhelmingly thinks America is the greatest country in the world. The left does not. Yet their constant assertions that they are just as patriotic as we are and love America so much, just show that they know these views would be rejected if openly stated.

"Republicans agreed that America is generally fair and decent, 83 percent to 7 percent. Eighty-one percent agreed that the world would be a better place if more countries were like the United States.

By contrast, Democrats were nearly split, with only 46 percent agreeing that America is generally a fair and decent country, and with 37 percent saying America is not a generally fair and decent country. Only 48 percent of Democrats said they thought that the world would be a better place if more countries were like the United States."

for Goblue
In response to your first post, the Pubs voting to support Clinton's Iraq measures tells me that THEY are able to look past partisan bickering and politics and act for the betterment of the country (sometimes). The vote to impeach Clinton or not told me that the Democrats (and 5 Republicans) could not act for the betterment of the country. That was as about as clear cut a case as you could have had for impeachment, and partisanship set him free.

In response to your second post, while there seems to be a lot of "shillism" (sorry for the new word :) on both "sides" of thought, the conservatives, IMHO, tend to be less shills than their liberal counterparts. Just look at Pat Buchanan, for starters, and quite often when one of the younger columnists here writes something incorrect, he gets called on it by the posters. I do not see near as much sycophantism here, and I have in my travels on the Left (HuffPo and Daily KOS, when I can stand them).

Finally, in regards to your question about "looking for defense of progressive
viewpoints " site somewhere, good luck. While we engage in debate here much more civilly than done on the so-called "progressive" websites like DailyKOS and HuffPo, I do not think you will find much defense of the indefensible... IMHO liberalism is inherently flawed, and doomed to failure.

My main reason for that is that liberalism stresses social responsibility above all, and you cannot have social responsibility above personal responsibility. Personal responsibility is where everything starts, because if a person cannot take care of their own self they surely cannot be depended on to take care of many others. Put bluntly, all socialism is is an excuse for the lazy to leech off others (much as they still do now :P).

The other main problem I have with "Progressive" thinking is, that they just want Change, lots of Change, and they do not spend much, if any, time thinking out the ramifications OF that change. The 60s and 90s are the best example of that... there IS no such thing as "free" love, and the "do what feels good" mentality is actually detrimental to ANY society, either a more socialist liberal one or a capitalist, conservative one. There is responsibility, and ramifications, for every single action we as humans take. Acting as if there is not is a recipe for disaster.

My 2c worth, dissect it and flush it as you will.

Shel:

Thanks for your service!

My daughter was in the North Arabian Sea last year, and my son-in-law will be deployed later this year. He won't be around to see the birth of their first child. They don't complain; it's what they signed up for. And my wife and I couldn't be prouder of them.

When she was on deployment, people would often ask us how we managed. Our answer, “We wouldn’t have it any other way.” At 26 years of age and 8 years in, she’s seen more of the world then most people would see in three lifetimes. And, “I’d tell you what she’s doing but…” Suffice to say, she’s living her dream and doing her part to secure our Nation’s future, as is her husband.

Next month, when she makes Chief we’ll be making the 5,000-mile trek to be there. Not because the travel or timing are convenient but because, “We wouldn’t have it any other way.”

I’m sure you’re making your parents proud too. I know little more about you, than you’re your willingness to serve. That’s more than enough. It makes me proud to know we share a common name, American.

God Bless and keep you.

My hero
If I were in death's final grasp, and in my last moment of clarity I remembered that Ann's newest column was being published the next day, I know I could hold on just one more day so that I could fade away with a big smile on my face.

Thank you Ann!

Are you Liberal or Conservative?
A friend sent this to me. And seems appropriate here.

The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock Cal. 40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?
_________________________________________________
Liberals Answer:

Well, that's not enough information to answer the question!

Does the man look poor! Or oppressed?

Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to murder me?

Could we run away?

What does my wife think?

What about the kids?

Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?

What does the law say about this situation?

Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it?

Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children?

Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?

Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?

If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me?

Should I call 9-1-1?

Why is this street so deserted?

We need to raise taxes, have a paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior.

This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

BANG!

The Dem lefties think they're patrotic
because they have a secret plan to save America: Cut off support to Israel and let the Islamofacists overrun and enslave them. After all, if Jews had never returned to Palestine to begin with, everything would be copacetic in the Middle East, right? We rightwing nuts support Israel for only one reason: We like to fight, kill and push other people around. Now I get it!

An aweseome, complimentary editoral
Read Thomas Sowell's 7/21/2006 column, Pacifists vs. Peace, for a great complimentary article.

Look what peace initiatives and pacifism has gotten Israel - kidnapped soldiers and hundreds of rockets a day raining down on their heads.

Rift in the Space/Time Continuum?

Hey Guys & Gals:

You get the sense that it’s eerily quiet? Where is the Blogogargantuous Left? Do you suppose there’s a rift in the space/time continuum? Did the mother ship return?

Or... Is it possible that the Moonbats’ jettisoning of Lieberman in the Mega-Nut State has some of our stalwart Lefty Bloggers in a tailspin? Just a thought...

Ann Coulter Rocks!!!
Great column, but what do you expect-
She is the master

Shul, I agree with you, God Bless America!!
And God Bless YOU.........

Hey Cutter
The moonbat brigade is in therapy today but don't dispair they will return once they get their prescriptions filled.

Repeat after me, I am somebody, I am somebody, I am somebody .....

The Left Just took a Major Hit
Cutter, another thought?

You mention Lieberman’s primary lose being a conundrum for the left but the left does now a serious “image” problem with the successful anti-terrorist actions that thwarted the planned trans-Atlantic airliner bombings. Literally thousands of lives have been saved and economic harm that would have surely followed was also averted.

I’ve heard news reports that intelligence was gathered via phone and email intercepts. Earlier arrests in Pakistan surely lead to “aggressive” interrogation which also yielded intelligence. This major battle victory is a major set-back for leftists in America. Many of the tactics that the left has assailed GWB and America for using have now saved thousands of lives and dealt terrorism a major blow. With these captured terrorists now ALIVE and in custody even more information and intelligence will be obtained.

While the left has been consumed with defeating Lieberman the real grown-ups have been out saving innocent lives and fighting a real enemy.

I can’t wait to hear the leftist spin over the next few weeks.

Remember the leftist M.O. -
They love power more than they love America
They hate GWB more than they hate the terrorists.

Cutter Bench..
I heard they are all gathered at the new Democratic headquarters the Daily Kos. Where they're getting there latest marching orders and instructions on how to implement Peloskis "New Direction."

Don't know. What I posted is what I received. Did you see a similar one?

Has anyone read...
... Tom Clancy's "Teeth of the Tiger"? Love that story and can't wait for the sequel. When the terrorists come in through the southern border and hit targets (one of which, interestingly, is the Citadel Mall here in Colorado Springs), the two cousins take out the bunch in Virginia. As one of the terrorists is dying, one of the cousins sticks a football (pigskin) into his arms and tells him to go straight to hell.

We need more people like that. A LOT more people.

BTW, Shel (and all others standing in harm's way on our behalf), a big THANKS! for your service. Whenever I get a chance in this town, I make it a point to thank those in uniform for their service, too. It's the least I can do (oh, and I voted for a conservative determined to work on closing the borders for our open Congressional seat).

Where are the Left Wing Nuts?
The usual suspects apparently haven't noticed this column yet--or else they're too busy yelling at Gallagher (well over 100 comments pro and con, including a couple by yours truly). Left Angle has been going hot and heavy over there, and has even (gasp!) produced a PLAN for dealing with the terrorists. It is currently in the process of being totalled by those far wiser than he.

For those interested
I posted a new essay today, on my blog, dealing with this general issue. Just click on my name, above, if you're interested.

Iraq War
It's puzzling the way troops must do 2 and sometimes three tours, and have their enlistment extended without their consent when we have so many civilian domestic warhawks who are so enthusiastic about the Iraq war. It is pretty easy to believe that maybe the neocon lovers tried to enlist for duty but couldn't pass the military aptitude test. After all, to continue to support the Iraq war (as opposed to the real war on terror) when every rationale for going to war has been refuted shows a malfunctioned level of brain activity.

Reaganite:

Thanks for the reality check.

I sometimes have to remind myself that anything that bodes well for Dubya (no matter how much our nation benefits) will always be diametrically opposed by the Moonbats.

Goshawk
Your post is ridiculous. It poses a false scenario. Liberals, in general, don't own or carry guns. Liberals (with the exception of Sean Penn, I guess)PAY the people around them to carry guns. That way they don't come off as hypocrites.

Reaganite/ Goshawk:

Well it appears as though one can never be too cynical when making observations about the Ahm-a-Demo-jads. In a recent Zogby poll 4 out of 5 likely Democrat voters were pleased with the Lieberman flush on Tuesday. Can you hear the Twilight Zone music playing in the background?

Goshawk – Answer to mugging scenario:

I would take one step toward the perp (for field of vision, freedom of movement and to place myself between my family and the would-be assailant) while widening my stance and reaching for my 23. Two shots to the largest body mass (between the shoulders) for starters, and as many (two shot burst) as needed thereafter. If however, my son was with us, he’d be packing the “Twins” and I’d probably have to cover my wife and two small children to protect them from the rain of shell casings.

Be careful what you wish for - haha
I can hear Fred Sanford saying it now “Lamont … you big dummy.”

To all the moon bats in Connecticut and those nationally who helped defeat Lieberman in the demo-rat primary we conservatives absolutely LOVE you! Please keep up the good work.

The latest Rasmussen polls have Lieberman (independent) ahead of
Lamont (demo-rat) and the GOP candidate.
http://rasmussenreports.com/2006/State%20Polls/August%202006/ConnecticutSenate.htm

What an awesome proxy victory for conservatives if Lieberman wins the general election. Lieberman was a card-carrying liberal and beholden to all liberal activists and groups except one - the Iraq war. If Lieberman gets re-elected as an independent then conservatives will have as good an ally in Connecticut as we could ever wish for. The GOP will never win in Connecticut and Lieberman will have an axe to grind with the DNC and its acolytes. Also Lieberman as an Independent takes away 1 seat from the demo-rats in their quest to regain control of Senate.

Worse case scenario for conservatives is that demo-rats (Lamont) win the general election but only after pouring tons of money and resources into Connecticut just to avoid the humiliation of Lieberman winning as an Independent.

We conservatives need to support and make donations to Lieberman; we need to befriend our enemy’s enemy.

Ann's Tit is Stalin but the Tat? Hitler
Just reading Ann's latest and listening to Sean today, and I like all the cute nicknames everyone uses, like "Cut and Run" Lamont, tagging a guy as a coward who actually reflecting the popular view (latest national CNN poll shows 60% oppose Iraq war). Here in the posts it's all about who has the cutest names! Hezbocrats, Dembollah...inventive! But on a serious note, one thing I don't see is directly who the references to the "enemy" in this war on terror is. Are they talking about the tiny underground factions like the one that plotted to blow up planes over the Atlantic recently? Because if so we need to invade Britain, Hamburg and maybe even Dearborn, right?! Debbie Schlussel is therefore doing more then Ann Coulter!

Who does Ann mean? Those yet unidentified shoe bombers that we hoped to flush out in the "Mistakes were Made" invasion of Iraq by George "Gynegologists Love Their Women" Bush, or Donald "Show Me Where I Said That" Rumsfeld, or Colin "These Are Facts, Not Allegations" Powell, or Dick "They're East, West, North and South of Tikrit" Cheney?

Is is fair to lump in as terrorists the insurgents that rose up against the invasion of the "oops, no WMD" war putting our kids into debt? I guess it is because they'd sure bomb us now! Lebanon too, now! Thanks for that!

Sean's first talking point today was boasting about how the recent arrests would never have been possible without telephone surveillance. But no one ever said we shouldn't surveil, they just complained about bypassing warrants! He leaves that out for the rhubarbs, because his intention is to smokescreen the fact that we can surveil AND get warrants! Sean makes it seem like his political opponents are against such progress, which is an unethical propaganda tactic, shifteing the very narrow focus of George "Mission Accomplished" Bush's skipping the warrant process.

On Lamont - Ann slimes the grandson with the sins of the grandfather. Yikes? Will she put on HER Scoop Jackson cap and report about Bush's Grandpa having assets seized in WW2's Trading with the Enemy Act after his ties to Hitler financier Fritz Thyssen were published in the NY Times? See, it's not just rhetoric when they compare Bush to Hitler, it's an old family friend! The left never slimed Bush with his grandfather's mistakes, (though Fox did) but it's Ann's unethical tactics I point up here, so please don't accuse me of saying something out of turn here unless you get her good for doing it first!

It's fair if she is critical of Lamont's stance on Israel, his anti-war stature, because those are issues relevant to today's voter. But why doesn't she refrain from the low-road sludge? Maybe she knows her reader well! Maxine waters would be working in McDonalds without affirmative action? Whoo-ee! What a picture she paints! Youz be wanting' fries wit dat? Monger that Hate, Ann, teach us how!

Whiny Warble Just Discharging?

Blogogargantuan Alert!!!

Well WWJD must have just got in from this weekend’s “peace” demonstrations, full of bile and animosity. The masquerade of civility has been removed, like a Guy Fawkes’ mask and the real WWJD is exposed. Please, put the mask back on! No really… please!!! Actually, I prefer the false pretext is gone. A number of us were onto WWJD anyway, so why hide? Some rant though… I would give it a 0.5 on the Michael Moore scale – 10 being the highest.

WWJD???
Please. Ann and Sean are mild, gentle, and tolerant compared to the crap the Left puts out. I would say go take a look at the hate and intolerance over at DailyKOS or DemocraticUnderground, but likely as not those places are your home away from your trollings here...

Sixty percent against the war according to a CNN poll, huh? Who did they poll, California? A NOW convention? Did they throw that poll in at the voting booths in the Connecticut primaries?

The Conservative's Useful Idiot
I would like to reiterate that DJWW is the poster child for promoting private schools in America. As Neil Brootz advises – get your kids out of government schools.

Just know that there are many DJWW’s working in the government schools. Do you want a DJWW teaching your child, grandchild, friend etc????

As we lobby for vouchers and try to influence others to place their kids in private schools use DJWW as an example. Most grown-ups would cringe at the thought of having a DJWW instruct their elementary age kid(s).

Wicked Witch Justifiably Deliquesces?

Great post Fletch! I may have to frame this one... I’ve been in stitches all afternoon. Yes, “Liberals at least DO have entertainment value…”

Spinsters
"Only a blithering idiot would characterize that position as "reflecting the popular view". In fact, the polls indicate that only 20% (!) of voters endorse that position (though obviously a much greater percentage among Sonnecticut Democrats). "

Bold headline from CNN.com (8/16): "60 percent of Americans oppose Iraq war".
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/09/iraq.poll/index.html

Where is your 20% figure coming from?

"It boggles the mind that anyone would suggest (seriously or not) that Britain or Hamburg or Dearborn."

Right, why would we suggest the actual location of the terror cells when we can invade an uninvolved country. The point is the bad guys are not in any one place, Fletch. If so, this "mission" would be "accomplished" by now. They are in secret places and we've been attacking countries we think that sorta mighta been sponsors, but who have oil reserves.

"Over and above the inability to distinguish between countries, cities and towns, is the imbecilic notion that there isn't a vast difference between city-states that are SPONSORS of terrorism and locations from which terrorists operate in secret. It exposes a crucial falw in basic reasoning skills sadly all-too-common among liberals."

You prove the sponsorship and let's attack! Yee haw! But don't lie to the people, that's unethical.

"The list of nicknames provided ostensibly as a rebutal to the one applied to Lamont fail with typically liberal flair. On the one hand we have a nickname for a candidate ACCURATELY describing the central position of his campaign. In response we get "George 'Gynegologists Love Their Women' Bush"? Yeah, THERE'S a critical policy stance."

Okay how about George "I Do'nt Think About [Osama] That Much" Bush. Is that a critical enough issue?

"Then we get "Donald 'Show Me Where I Said That' Rumsfeld", which might be amusing if the notion that he HAD said what Hillary claimed hadn't been thoroughly discredited."

Which "Show Me" are you talking about??? I was talking about this painful lie caught on live TV:
http://www.videosift.com/story.php?id=2042

"Similarly, "Colin 'These Are Facts, Not Allegations' Powell" might be an amusing handle if the items he were describing had been anything BUT facts (again, context is everything)."

They were not facts! Anodized aluminum tubes? Bacteriological agents placed in the tip of a missile? All wrong, disproven - "mistakes were made". Did you hear Powell's chief of staff Col. Wilkerson expose him pre- and post-UN speech as knowing the data wasn't vetted on the PBS show NOW? Powell had NO confidence in the testimony according to his old friend, right wing Republican chief of staff and 30 year veteran.

"Or, perhaps "Dick 'They're East, West, North and South of Tikrit' Cheney" might be amusing if Cheney hadn't admitted that he had misspoken and CORRECTED HIMSELF."

Oh! I hadn't heard that, could you show me the correction. I won't use it anymore if so.

"The dishonesty inherent in the complaint of a liberal that ANYTHING is "putting our kids into debt" is cause for hysterical laughter. While it is certain that the current administration has been by no means fiscally conservative, the additional spending on health care, education, agriculture and truckloads of pork has been on things near and dear to the hearts of liberals and, ultimately, has cost more than even the war in Iraq."

Defense spending, even in peacetime is by far the biggest expense in teh budget. Sure cut the pork, but health care, education, agriculture?

"Then Ann's brief comment regarding Lamont's grandfather is denounced with the statement: "The left never slimed Bush with his grandfather's mistakes..." which is evidence of either mental derangement, persistent amnesia or blatant dishonesty. "

There I was talking specifically linking Prescott to Hitler, as Ann did Ned's grandpa to Stalin. This link was ignored by the left, possibly considered "below the belt"? Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean any sliming of Bush based on anything Prescott did, just arming and funding the Nazi buildup.

"One accusing another of "unethical" attacks should either eschew such tactics as well or do a little basic research into the validity of one's own assumptions. I know, I know, that's anathema to liberals."

I thought we were learning from Ann here... do I have to be better? What about you guys?

"Ann's inference that Maxine Waters would have a job working in a paper hat without affirmative action was perhaps over the top (this is what polemicists do - a concept completely lost on liberals and the feeble-minded, but I repeat myself). It would be fairer to say that, were she not in politics, she probably would have an orange jumpsuit with a number stenciled on the front. She has, after all, been named one of the most corrupt members of Congress, having funneled federal moneys to the companies of family members."

I hadn't heard that! Who named her corrupt? Was she convicted?

"She once famously, and unintentionally, make one of the most compelling cases for preserving the legality of abortion when she announced, "I have to march because my mother could not have an abortion". Liberals at least DO have entertainment value...."

That's a good line. Of course legalized abortion is being theorized as the reason for the decrease in crime over the last decade or so. But why do you only criticize criminal politicians on the left? Let's do it in balance, throw them all out and see who's left, using honesty, not political affiliations as a metric of worthiness. Too simple?

Over 900 words of lies and babble
DJWW are you aware that your diatribes only strengthen the positions and premises you oppose? Each posting you make just validates and further articulates the critical and unflattering assessments others have made of you.

Forgive the boorish cliché but, when are you going to quit pissing in the wind???
