Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

NASA scientist James Hansen, a high-ranking government employee, appeared in a Congressional committee meeting room June 23 to say CEOs of fossil energy companies “should be tried for high crimes against humanity and nature.”

Their crime: Disagreeing with him.

No word on the form of energy he used to travel to the inquisition.

Hansen further claimed that federal laws to mandate restrictions on U.S. carbon dioxide emissions have been “blocked by special interests, focused on short-term profits.”

Um, no.

Eleven Congresses -- five Democrat, six Republican -- have declined to limit greenhouse gas emissions since Hansen’s much-celebrated testimony before Colorado Democrat Tim Wirth’s Senate Committee in June 1988.

As in, they don’t want to.

As in, they really, really don’t want to.

Twenty years to the month after James Hansen had his big break at a sweaty hearing (the liberals running the show opened the windows to retard the air conditioning), the present liberal-run Senate was unable to get even 45 votes for its supposedly anti-global warming “cap and trade” bill.

Hansen blames campaign contributions by lobbyists wearing alligator shoes for the decision of Senators such as Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) to oppose the bill’s limits on energy use.

A Rockefeller bribed by a handful of $2,000 campaign gifts? Get real. Say what you will about Jay Rockefeller (and I have), or Robert Byrd, Sherrod Brown, Jim Webb, Carl Levin, Debbie Stabenow, Claire McCaskill, Blanche Lincoln and the others; there’s no evidence they’ve been bribed.

No, the explanation lies elsewhere -- in Rockefeller’s case, in West Virginia, actually, where most people prefer having a job to not having one and who, all things considered, would rather have a low utility bill than a high one.

Sort of like the residents of most states, except perhaps Maine and California and a few others collectively known as the “P.T. Barnum” states.

The truth Hansen won’t admit is that at least 55 Senators support one or more of the following: 1) economic liberty; 2) the welfare of constituents; or 3) their self-interest, as there is an advantage of letting voters in their home states believe they believe in numbers 1 & 2.

Bad news for Hansen = good news for America.

Compared to the House, the Senate’s been a powerhouse -- with offsets, one assumes -- of global warming alarmism.

The House leadership hasn’t even gotten a global warming bill to the floor, which saves Nancy Pelosi the embarrassment of telling the Volvo-driving anti-energy left why it failed.

Give Pelosi credit. She’s creative. She delegates.

In the case of global warming, to the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, which she created as a holding pen for Congressional global warming alarmists while real Congressional business continues down the hall. There alarmists are free to bleat eternally about the benefits of energy-suppression measures that, even if adopted, would have no measurable impact on climate.

One can just imagine them thinking: Who cares if the laws work, when it feels so good to advocate them?

The global warming committee is chaired by Massachusetts Democrat Ed Markey, who first became famous for opposing clean nuclear power. Oh, and for opposing Reagan’s approach to winning the Cold War.

Guess he was wrong on that one.

Surprise.

It was in Markey’s ghetto committee that Hansen delivered his remarks.

There were plenty of chairs for the interns.

Hansen’s thrown his blame-the-captains-of-industry hissy-fit before.

When Canadian mining engineer Steve McIntyre discovered in 2007 that the U.S. government’s NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies -- led by Hansen -- had screwed up its figures and erroneously (and conveniently, for Hansen) reported that 1998 is the warmest year on record instead of 1934, Hansen flipped out. He referred to those who caught the error as “court jesters,” charging they did the bidding of unnamed captains of industry.

If so, these captains of industry did a public service. All things considered, the public likes its data accurate. Especially if fake data is used by government employees to lobby Congress for higher fuel prices and unemployment.

But if data collection and analysis is not Hansen’s strong suit -- fair-minded people can hardly expect NASA to have the resources of a Canadian mining engineer working in his free time -- he’s even weaker when it comes to understanding Congress.

Hansen somehow fails to realize that if the energy industry had had eleven successive Congresses wrapped around its proverbial pinkie finger, its “alligator-toed” lobbyists would have eliminated federal gas taxes, limits on energy exploration, new CAFE standards, ever-increasing ethanol mandates and a great deal more besides.

(That the public would have been better off for it will be left for discussion on another day.)

Hansen would have us believe the energy industry is all-powerful when it comes to global warming legislation, yet impotent on everything else.

As that’s a genuine example of Hansen’s logic, it’s a good thing eleven Congresses in a row have been decidedly wary of Hansen’s raise-taxes advice on global warming.

About The Author
HA
"James Hansen has also appeared on 60 Minutes stating that the White House edited climate-related press releases reported by federal agencies to make global warming seem less threatening. He claimed that he was unable to speak "freely", without the backlash of other government officials. "In my more than three decades in the government I've never witnessed such restrictions on the ability of scientists to communicate with the public."

Only in America could someone claim that he is unable to "speak freely" ON NATIONAL TV!!!

THE REAL JAMES HANSEN
Hansen, the godfather of the current global warming hoax, received $720,000 in the 2006 Soros Foundation Report under the heading of "politization of science."

He still has not fully addressed the revision of the Goddard Institute of Space Science (GISS, which he heads) erroneous data by audits, in which the hottest year on record is 1934, not 2006 (initially) or 1998 (later) as previously reported by his institution, disproving the myth of global warming.

GLOBAL COOLING!!!!
http://www.globalcooling.ws/news.html

Where is the push...
to eliminate carbonated beverages? How much CO2 is released into the atmosphere everytime someone (like me) pops the top on a brewski? That alone tells me that these people aren't about global warming so much as they are about control. Cuz you KNOW how far a call for eliminating peoples' Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Budweiser will go. About as far as my dream of being a GQ cover model went. :-)

Broad based attack
Pelosi, Reid, the MSM and the DNC have figured a way to manipulate the "issues", and as Amy has illustrated, Hansen is just one batallion in thier arsenal.

Hansen, who receives a taxpayer subsidized paycheck and other Federal benefits, also was the beneficiary of nearly $1 million from a George Soros front company. He has publicly teamed with ALGORE and has taken many partisan stands in public. It wouldn't take a genius to find that Hansen has been in gross violation of the Hatch Act as a consequence. Hansen is now 67 and should be put out to pasture.

Meeting
Wow! Another committee hearing and lets sue. Now all we need is is Boxer saying "sue OPEC?"

So, I paid $4.99 per gallon for gas and I live in a P.T. Barnum state! This day is looking up!

And now I am going to pop the top of my Diet Coke and let the C20 flow!

GW Advocates Are Asylum Escapees
Hansen needs to be put out to pasture: clearly he is insane.

WSJ columnist Bret Stephens has a great column titled Global Warming as Mass Nerosis. I urge everyone to read it here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121486841811817591.html?mo d=todays_columnists

GW advocates all need to be given a pill on a daily basis and put in an asylum.

IN MY 42 YEARS
We've now had global cooling when I was a child, ozone holes when I was a teenager and young adult, and now global warming as an adult. What's next - will we run out of water? Anyone in a state whose Washington D.C. officials are refusing to at least try to alleviate our energy fleecing, should elect new people to government with a mandate. The only people enjoying the price of oil are those making big money, our enemies, and those who believe America is bad and needs to be punished by having our economy hit the dirt (see enemies). Nevada, California, New York, which group do you belong to since your senators/reps along with many others are refusing to serve the interests of the American people by at least trying to help. All I see is liberals on news channels scolding us over unproven urban legends.

We already know that Hansen is
guilty of promoting a scam. He should be sentenced to 50 lashes with a 20 ft snake whip for his crimes as a bunko artist.

Following that he should have his citizenship striped and then be exiled to a Sweden or Denmark so he can live with the eco-idiots and the Muslims.

Just how silly Hansen is
Hansen accepted climatologist John Christy's criticism of Vermont's climate-change law -- that it "would be below our ability to measure or detect" and even if implemented worldwide "will have no discernible impact on climate" -- and still went on to argue that even that infinitessimally small impact could be "potentially important."
http://www.johnlocke.org/lockerroom/lockerroom.html?id=1297 0

State of Fear
Read Michael Crighton's State of Fear. For many years our government, as well as many outside the government have been using the threat of self-destruction or threats to our health etc to extract money from the populace or run our lives. Global warming is by no means a fact.

Take bird flu. In an agrarian society of 1 billion, five people get sick enough to travel the hundred miles to a clinic for treatment. All five die. Hence bird flu is 100% fatal. Nobody has a clue about the 5,000 who stayed in bed for two days or worked thru their symptoms. They are completely off the radar. What to do? Send scientists $20 billion. Not only will they find a cure, they'll use part of that money to find other dreaded illnesses that require even more money and further complicate our lives.

These fear mongers are destroying life as we know it should be.

Stop government spending. BIG GOVT IS BIG BUSINESS!

By the way
Fear is a very useful tool for taking control of a democracy.

Hmm! “...should be tried for high crimes

against humanity and nature.”

I saw that little snippet of Hansens' rant! It was obvious, not only by WHAT he said, but also his demeanor, this little dude was on the verge of coming totally unglued... unhinged... un-somethng!

I could NOT believe that I was actually hearing what I heard.

Someone needs to throw a net over him before he hurts somebody.

Jerseyvet, you are right on!

James Hansen
Hansen has flagrantly violated the Hatch Act. He should be fired and prosecuted.

Postmodernism + socialism = decay
Global warming "theory" could come about because postmodern philosophy has thoroughly infected all the special sciences and is reinforced by the state of socialized science in all the Western nations. Basic science is almost completely socialized (applied science is still mostly private, but it is limited by the fact that it relies on the data provided by basic science).

I don't trust any given basic researcher in any scientific field today. You would be hard pressed to find an original, independent, honest thinker in 1 in 100 of our government-procured scientists. A modern-day scientist would not be able to come up with the concept of natural selection, and hardly any of them understand evolutionary theory today, even though they mouth support for it; they cannot abstract, and worse, because of their postmodern thinking, they don't believe in reality anyway. They sarcastically talk about truth as if it were a naive construct. As you can imagine, people that don't believe in truth don't think it will ever catch up with them. Fraud is at least as rampant in the laboratories of the basic scientists as it is in the business world, if not more.

As I said, basic research in this country is socialized. And TownHallers already know what inevitably comes of socialism: Second-hand thinking, corruption, cronyism, stagnation, and the driving away of the better minds.

Bad philosophy can be overcome by countervailing forces in our culture. But in the political realm, we need to abolish public funding for basic research in this country (unless it is done under the auspices of national defense). That includes getting rid of all the institutions, especially the NIH, that receive and distribute public money to the parasites that are supposed to be working toward saving our lives, but use the money instead to pass off fraudulent papers so that they can pad their CVs and get more grant money.

We are a nation
of sane people run by idiots.

Is this not a case of letting the foxes run the hen house?

Giving scientist grants to obtain information on any subject always requires more grants.

If I were a congress critter, I would take his rants with a grain of salt.

Wendy
You must have posted while I was typing mine. I am a hunt and peck typist myself! I did not mean to restate your excellent observation.

You think maybe great minds think alike?

BTW, how is it I could not use the word pe*ker when I was not referring to anything vulgar?

Paradigm shifts
Meanwhile, the Bush administration is doing its darndest to hold back an EPA finding that more than $2 trillion could be saved through the year 2040 wiith tougher greenhouse gas regulations.

See:

http://www.desmogblog.com/white-house-covers-up-2-trillion- global-warming-benefit

And that's just the dreaded "regulation," folks. Lets move on from the sticks to the carrots---all that money to be made and jobs to be created in a transition to a sustainable energy economy. I know, I know. Paradigm shifts are hard for conservatives like Ms. Ridenour. But perhaps if they just tries to think about it as an iinvestment opportunity, a little light will penetrate the dark recesses.

.

High crimes
Maybe Hansen should be tried for high crimes against humanity when manmade global warming is proven false just as he says oil execs should be. After all, didn't he say they spread disinformation and false ideas? Sounds kinda familiar, doesn't it?

Hansen's predictions
Hansen's research and his warnings about climate change have all been right on target, just the timing was wrong. We are seeing happening now what was predicted to happen in 2050. For example the melting Arctic. More severe storms and droughts would be the first expression of changing climates. Seems to be pretty accurate. The prognosis for when it really picks up steam is scary.

I do believe I will live long enough to watch you climate change skeptics eat your words and wail about why didn't somebody do something to stop this!

chicaree, the arctic has more ice
than last year - but there's a patch of single-year ice that moved up over the pole. There's plenty of multi-year pack, but it moved over toward canada. Try reading more than the headlines.

Also, are you exhaling CO2?

Do you drive a car?

Do live in a house wired to the electrical grid?

What kind of job do you do?

If you truly believe CO2 is a pollutant, what have you done to stop this?

Dear, dear Chicaree
Hansen has been wrong, is wrong and will continue to be wrong. He has lost all intellectual equilibrium and will very soon begin to expel white foam from his pie hole. The man has become a world-class laughingstock, what with the release of his flawed math to the world. That's what happens when the cacophony of voices in one's head keep repeating, "I'm right, I'm absolutely right!" With his latest outburst, he's replaying the persecution of Galileo, except this time the "scientist" is the church! It's time for old Hanny to retire to a safe room devoid of sharp objects.

At least we can be thankful that...
Hansen wasn't working on the Apollo missions with the real NASA scientists, or Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin would still be speeding toward a distant galaxy.

chicaree
"Hansen's research and his warnings about climate change have all been right on target, just the timing was wrong."

When is the right time to spew out flawed data? He has been right on target according to you because you want everyone to live as YOU say. I could do what the alarmists do and say "The debate is over!" but I'd really like the debate to begin. Let's gather all the supporting GOVERNMENT "scientists" and all the scientists that have proven that it is a myth and let them debate it in an open forum. Just because Al Gore says something doesn't make it a scientifically proven statement.

Fire Hansen now!
For the politicization of science.

He obviously doesn't believe in peer review or he would have released the methodology and all data regarding temperature adjustments to "account for urban heat sinks in the raw data".

Chickaree
"Hansen's research and his warnings about climate change have all been right on target, just the timing was wrong. We are seeing happening now what was predicted to happen in 2050. For example the melting Arctic. More severe storms and droughts would be the first expression of changing climates."

So, it is now "Climate Change" and not Global Warming? Funny on Libs like you change your tune once it's become obvious that the world has actually cooled since 2001. Hansen, in 1988 forecasted a 1 deg C increase in global temperatures by 2008. He missed his mark by about 1 deg C.

And no, increases in droughts and floods are not a sign of anything. As a matter of fact, one can point to a cooling planet as far as floods are concerned. This year's flooding in NAmerica has been caused by an intense La Nina (strong cooling in equatorial Pacific waters), as well as a long term shift in North Pacific waters to a cooling regime. Vale Colorado and resorts in Idaho extended thier skiing season into June, and Fairbanks Alaska hadn't hit 80 deg until late June of this year (a record cold outbreak in Alaska this winter-late spring). Perth Austrailia recorded frost for the first time in thier history, and the Franz Josef Glaciers in New Zealand have been growing since 1998. I could go on, but I have a feeling you could care less with the facts.

BTW, the worst draught to hit NAmerica since AD700 occured during the coldest decades of the last Little Ice Age (1590-1700)

gettingoldernwiser
You forgot "acid rain." I wonder how much was spent to "cure" that "problem."

My brother-in-law, with a PhD. in agronomy, snorts "That was a total scam" when acid rain is mentioned.

We're such a wealthy country that we have time to concentrate on non-problems--and non-solving them. For some reason, I don't recall any other hoax taking on a life of its own like globull warming has. Is it because my memory is failing, or have the Communists decided we're ready for the final blow?

Global Stupidity
Hansen is a hypocrite looking for political power or a naive idiot like many of the ecowhacos.
For a "cooler" more realistic perspective on the subject check this site:

http://nzclimatescience.net/index.php

And just to think that the great Al Gore is still convinced that the debate is over since there is a consensus of scientists saying that Global Warming is man made. Really Al?

31,000 Scientist
There are over 31,000 scientist, 9,000 + which are PhDs that have signed the following petition:

We urge the United States government to reject the Global Warming Agreement that was written in Kyoto Japan in December. 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology and damage the health and welfare of mankind.

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth' s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth' s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.

Presented by
Open Kyoto to debate
Sixty scientists call on Harper to revisit the science of global warming

Special to the Financial Post
Published: Thursday, April 06, 2006

An open letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper:

Dear Prime Minister:

As accredited experts in climate and related scientific disciplines, we are writing to propose that balanced, comprehensive public-consultation sessions be held so as to examine the scientific foundation of the federal government's climate-change plans. This would be entirely consistent with your recent commitment to conduct a review of the Kyoto Protocol. Although many of us made the same suggestion to then-prime ministers Martin and Chretien, neither responded, and, to date, no formal, independent climate-science review has been conducted in Canada. Much of the billions of dollars earmarked for implementation of the protocol in Canada will be squandered without a proper assessment of recent developments in climate science.

Observational evidence does not support today's computer climate models, so there is little reason to trust model predictions of the future. Yet this is precisely what the United Nations did in creating and promoting Kyoto and still does in the alarmist forecasts on which Canada's climate policies are based. Even if the climate models were realistic, the environmental impact of Canada delaying implementation of Kyoto or other greenhouse-gas reduction schemes, pending completion of consultations, would be insignificant. Directing your government to convene balanced, open hearings as soon as possible would be a most prudent and responsible course of action.

James "Elmer Fudd" Hansen
James Hansen resembles a scientist only in the sense that a chimp resembles a man. What a disgrace. This squirrelly little Elmer Fudd is the living embodiment of politicized junk science. Where was his prediction of the current well-documented global cooling? This fraud's output is nothing but politically-driven garbage.

60 Canadian Scientist 2
While the confident pronouncements of scientifically unqualified environmental groups may provide for sensational

headlines, they are no basis for mature policy

formulation. The study of global climate change is, as you have said, an "emerging science," one that is perhaps the most complex ever tackled. It may be many years yet before we properly understand the Earth's climate system. Nevertheless, significant advances have been made since the protocol was created, many of which are taking us away from a concern about increasing greenhouse gases. If, back in the mid-1990s, we knew what we know today about climate, Kyoto would almost certainly not exist, because we would have concluded it was not necessary.

We appreciate the difficulty any government has formulating sensible science-based policy when the loudest voices always seem to be pushing in the opposite direction. However, by convening open, unbiased consultations, Canadians will be permitted to hear from experts on both sides of the debate in the climate-science community. When the public comes to understand that there is no "consensus" among climate scientists about the relative importance of the various causes of global climate change, the government will be in a far better position to develop plans that reflect reality and so benefit both the environment and the economy.

60 Canadian Scientist 3
"Climate change is real" is a meaningless phrase used repeatedly by activists to convince the public that a climate catastrophe is looming and humanity is the cause. Neither of these fears is justified. Global climate changes all the time due to natural causes and the human impact still remains impossible to distinguish from this natural "noise." The new Canadian government's commitment to reducing air, land and water pollution is commendable, but allocating funds to "stopping climate change" would be irrational. We need to continue intensive research into the real causes of climate change and help our most vulnerable citizens adapt to whatever nature throws at us next.

We believe the Canadian public and government decision-makers need and deserve to hear the whole story concerning this very complex issue. It was only 30 years ago that many of today's global-warming alarmists were telling us that the world was in the midst of a global-cooling catastrophe. But the science continued to evolve, and still does, even though so many choose to ignore it when it does not fit with predetermined political agendas.

We hope that you will examine our proposal carefully and we stand willing and able to furnish you with more information on this crucially important topic.

CC: The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of the Environment, and the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources

backlash
"""he was unable to speak "freely", without the backlash of other government officials"""

The 'backlash' he was worried about was everyone laughing at him.

The truth of global warming
The danger in the "global warming" crowd is the fervor in which they ultimately wish to control the people. It is a power and money grab, pure and simple. Why is it that carbon dioxide is spoken of but not water vapor? Both are greenhouse gases. Plants use carbon dioxide. Are we against plants growing and flourishing? By the way, did you ever notice that when it rains the temperature goes down.

There is no point is discussing science with the global warming crowd. Every event is "proof". In my line of work we call it weather. Predominate weather patterns over time and considering geography is climate. The climate has cooled and warmed before without help from humans.

You need no further proof of the political power grab than the rantings of individuals who say that "crimes" are being committed.

If Mr. Hansen et al are such true believers in global warming, then have them state what they believe the ideal temperature is for the earth. Have them quantify how much change in carbon dioxide is necessary in order to bring about that ideal temperature. Have them quantify how much of an effect that this will have on plant life. What is the ideal temperature during spring, summer, fall, winter?

Have them change prevailing wind directions so that the Sahara desert can become verdant. Have them repeal the forces and laws of nature that determine wind patterns.

The truth is that the global warming crowd can't prove that man is responsible and cannot give you that optimum temperature. If since that optimum temperature cannot be stated, then how do you know if is too warm or cold ? That is why the shrieks when someone opposes their ideological viewpoint. They can only "prove" man is responsible if they leave out other factors.

It is pure hubris for man to think they can control something we do not fully understand.

Tibby

Stupid
Does this arrogant little man really believe we are all going to die of "Man-Made" global warming?

If this idiot had been around at the time of the dinosaurs, we would all be running for our lives from meat-eating dinosaurs.

He no doubt thinks he is some kind of climate god and is the only one who can save us all.

The John/Jane Doe that goes to work every day, raises a family and kicks back on the weekend, depends on the News to keep him/her informed of current events. They all got to see James Hansen tear down Corporate America. Was any rebuttal shown?
Fox News needs to do a series of specials regarding the Big Fraud. Let them interview Al Gore and James Hansen and rebut what they are saying.

I have been saying for a long time, Al Gore needs to be sued. His movie was a proven fraud.
If Gore were to be sued, it would be a modern day Scopes Trial. I't would have to be covered by the media and facts not propaganda would be aired. I don't have the means but I figure if I keep repeating my mantra "Sue Al Gore" someone might have the means.

JPK -- Terminology
"So, it is now "Climate Change" and not Global Warming?"

Oh yes. In fact, at an academic conference I attended in April, one panelist stated publicly that the "movement" should begin using the term "global climatic dysfunction."

He also said that the main sticking points were America's "Love affair with the private automobile" and the "sanctity of the family."

Greenpeace uber alles!

The Scientific Test
Can any scientist/meterologist tell me what the temperature will be within .10 degree ten (10) days from now?
Can they tell met what the wind speed (mph) will be tomorrow?
Can they forecast rain ten days from now?

How can they then contend that the earth will be at a certain temperature 10 years from now.
Computer Models they say. Well if they can't tell me accurately what what the temp will be ten days from now, the what good are computer models? Just a Giant Fraud!
Sue Al Gore and James Hansen

Hey, Jimmy, where's the 'science?'
We are constantly told that the anthrogenic CO2 induced climate change (ACO2CC) theory is a real scientific theory, and has been demonstrated according to the scientific method.

The scientific method requires a proposed theory to explain or predict something not otherwise accounted for, using repeatable experiments, all representative and valid data, remaining consistent with other established science. All relevant observations and factors must be accounted for. Furthermore the theory must be defended against challenges (regardless of the supposed motives of the challengers) using accepted science and math.

Most of the alleged science & data underlying the ACO2CC hypothesis fail one or more of these criteria. E.g., a cause (high CO2 concentrations) must precede, not follow by centuries, the alleged result (elevated temperatures). Have the warmies proven existence of a time warp or something?

Jimmy Hansen seems to be illustrating his version of the new scientific method: Rant, call your critics names, and try to intimidate them. Dogmatically 'beg the question' and insist your position has already been proven (even if you can't say exactly when or how), while refusing to even address or acknowlege the gaping holes in your case.

Furthermore, the cost-benefit ratio utterly blows. No other doctrine in human history demands such a high economic & social cost for such a tiny, uncertain return.

I honestly believe that the elite want the ACO2CC dogma because it leads to totalitarianism, & most of the ordinary folks who support it do so because of the costs & restrictions it would impose on other people & their activities they don't like.

It's a shame that at this hour, we have a Republican candidate for POTUS who won't even predicate any anti-ACO2CC measures on demonstration of effectiveness & validity, but dogmatically pushes a fascistic energy rationing scheme regardless.

Hey johninoregon
You need to wake up and smell the café latte.

GLOBAL WARMING IS A PROVEN FRAUD!
Who cares what the EPA draft report says?
GM is about to file bankruptcy, they are the leader in Flex Fuel Cars. Did the report take this into consideration?

Did you know that biofuels create more greenhouse gasses than gasoline? Did the Draft Report take that under consideration?

This report is not a draft downloaded from a liberal environmentalist site.

This subject is apolitical unless your a Marxist. Then your motives are not for a clean earth but for domination of our political system.
This is costing us billions. There are people starving around the world because of biofuels which were produced to save the earth.
There are more scientist that see this as a fraud than believe that Global Warming exist.

Gas prices are not only hurting conservatives, they are hurting everyone in this country, especially the poor. Wait until winter gets here, what do you think the cost of heating oil will be? How many senior citizens will freeze this winter?
What is going to happen when Israel attacks Iran? What do you think a barrel of oil will sell for then?

If you want to revel in your ignorance and drive your Prius over the cliff, have at it. But let the rest of us conservatives and sane liberals try and put this country back on track.

There are none so blind as those who will not see!

Hansen is
James Hansen is a paid flunkie of the left, and of groups that hope to profit from the hysteria. For example, he received $720,000 from George Soros’ Open Society Institute. And more from various "green" groups. His science is laughable.

Consider England
where the voters have been subjected to the theories, freedom limiting laws and taxes of global warming for much longer then we have in this country. In a nut shell, a recent poll revealed the English are sick of this stupid theory.

Polly - I'm getting old
I apologize. Acid rain was another one of those "end of mankind" hoaxes.

I am sick though. Sick of Harry Reid spouting off. I'd like to strap him in a rumba and kick his arse back to Nevada. We are a nation whose only conquerer will be ourselves. Scratch that - not ourselves, ingoranuses elected by other people obviously IQ challenged. We are in SO much trouble. At least we have the global cooling cycle to hear about next. I believe its next on the stupidity cycle. Our economy has one thing going, it will survive better than Congress poll numbers. Anyone have wagers on how close to zero it will get?

I am ALL FOR saving the planet!

And if I thought for one split second that this AGW had a even a shred of truth to it, I'd jump on that bandwagon so fast everyone's head would spin!

And here's the kicker! I'M NOT ALONE!

But NONE of the actual FACTS even points to that direction.

What the FACTS DO point to is the beginning of "GLOBAL COOLING" so earlier this week I bought myself a mink coat!!! (Okay, it was on sale, and PETA really annoys me!)

In case the algore gloBULL idiots haven't noticed, last winter was THE COLDEST WINTER WORLD WIDE!

Will "Cooler" heads prevail in the end?
Apparently by the low quantity, at least so far, of Global Warming whackos posting on this blog it looks like some sanity is blowing our way. Amazing what record cold and $4 gasoline can do to cool down hot headed excitable Libs.

I know there are still way too many naive whackos that believe in this Global Warming/Climate Change hysteria but there seems to be a refreshing breeze of sanity in the general population. Now all we can hope is that it carries to DC and breaks through the thick sanity insulated cranium of its patients.

One that sure needs wising up is McCain. To have the GOP candidate falling for this crap is quite embarrassing. Someone needs to sit him down and educate him, the quicker the better.

Climate has been changing since the beginning of time and will go on changing till the end of times. There have been much hotter (remember Greenland) and colder periods punctuated with much sharper climate change in the past than we have seen over the last 100 years. We can use our limited resources more intelligently and efficiently to prepare ourselves for climate change than to stop it. Man made CO2 is such a tiny part of all CO2 produce that even if we stopped all our emissions, and die, it would have only an imperceptible effect on climate. Sun activity and the relative position of earth in relation to the sun have immensely more effect on climate.

If a bus is heading your way you are a lot smarter if you simply move out of the way as opposed to stay in the middle of the road and hope that by crossing your fingers and standing on your head the bus will somewhat start flying.

Trillions of dollars would slow global warming by a tiny fraction of a degree, WOW! I’ll take the money and happily suffer the extra fraction of a degree of heat while sipping on a pina colada on the patio of my comfortable air conditioned house. I know I am a capitalist insensitive pig. Mea Culpa Mea Culpa.

Hansen ..

Whatever else James Hansen may be, it is clear that he is no longer serving as a scientist, but as a polemicist.

His financial entanglements demolish his credibility. His demands that those who disagree with him be subject to criminal proceedings make it clear he cannot argue his case on the evidence at hand, but must resort to threatening those who disagree with him: "Global Warming Deniers", as termed by Mr. Gore

Funny how dissent is thought of as criminal in this context, when the same crowd thinks it is the very soul of patriotism when aimed at the United States.

Sandrob : The Scientific test
No scientists can tell you what the temperature in a particular room is to within .1 degree c right now.

Margin of error on the best RTD temperature sensors is .1 degree c. Then you have to account for errors in transfer from air to your sensor.

And just what do you mean by the temperature in the room? The air temperature in this spot? Surface temperature of an internal wall in that spot? The mean of all air temperatures across the room? Can you take them all at once, or is there a time delay during which convection currents will alter one or more readings. A local extreme hot spot will alter the mean reading, but in short time will diffuse throughout a wider area and lessen the statistical effect.

These are the troubles we have monitoring the temperature of an insulated room. You think we're going to be any better with a planet exposed to an internal and external heat source with an atmosphere posing variable transmittance of solar input and with radiative losses which vary with proximity to other celestial objects and being heated by a sun with variable output and fluxuations in its galactic orbit due to gravitational effects of other mossive galactic entities which we can only detect by observing their effect after the fact?

Privatize Government "Science"
Glomal warbling is a government scheme to radically de-construct the few remaining private property rights we have, plus a massive expansion in government power, all based on what a few bulging-eyed radical government employees have been instructed to find in their "research".

We need to privatize government "research" and "science". Using taxpayer money to fund propaganda like climate change has to stop. SImilarly, we need to privatize all education in the US. These institutions have been lib-fascist madrassas for decades. Enough.

And Exactly Why Is He Still Employed?
Why does this Bozo still have a job? Is there no one in possession of a pair anywhere in our government?

Why ManBearPig Won't Debate It.
Jim Hansen, Albert Gore and similar ilk will always refuse to openly debate any notorious skeptic about the anthropogenic global warming context.

Why?

Because they know the real motive has NOTHING to do with the environment, but EVERYTHING to do inciting fear to justify confiscating money from low and middle-income families and redistributing it to their rich selves and their rich friends.

Chicaree and that other ignoramus, John, must agree with their liberal leaders that liberty and upward mobility for the poor and humble doesn't matter anymore, because it should be obvious to even the stupidest observer that Al Gore hates poor people.

The really funny thing about it is, if he gets his way, humanity's carbon footprint will grow, and the masses will learn to ignore authority.

Gore, Hansen & Co. should be locked up in jail. They are living, breathing frauds.

Hansen A Proven Fraud
McIntyre proved James Hansen and NASA faked the temperature recordings, not 'screwed them up'. McIntyre proved that James Hansenand NASA lied, and commited scietific fraud.

James Hansen can never ever be trusted to tell the truth. The truth is the pro-global warming people have been caught many times committing scientific fraud. Every bit of their so-called most compelling evidence has been proven to be fraudulent.
