Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Are some Republicans willing to vote for Hillary Clinton in the primaries to help the GOP?

Maybe.

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh is encouraging stalwart Republicans to do the unthinkable and vote for Hillary Clinton in their state’s primary to prolong the bitter battle between her and Barack Obama for the Democratic nomination.

Limbaugh conspiratorially calls the tactic, “Operation Chaos.”

He began urging his listeners to vote for Clinton in the run-up to the March 4 nominating contests in Texas and Ohio after it was apparent John McCain would easily secure the Republican nomination. Limbaugh explained to fellow conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham on Fox News on March 29, “I want our party to win. I want the Democrats to lose. They're in the midst of tearing themselves apart right now. It is fascinating to watch, and it's all going to stop if Hillary loses.”

Ingraham later took up Limbaugh’s cause and has told her listeners to vote for Clinton in their primaries as well.

But is anyone following their orders? Statistics from the states of Ohio, Texas, Mississippi and Pennsylvania indicate it might be so.

After voter registration for the closed April 22 Pennsylvania primary ended Monday, the Pennsylvania State Department reported record numbers of voters had switched their party affiliation to Democrat.

36,738 Pennsylvanians re-registered as Democrats since February 25th, according to voter registration statistics made available on the Pennsylvania State Department’s website. This number does not include new Democratic applicants.

Montgomery County Director of Voter Services John Passeralla told NBC’s Philadelphia TV affiliate that he knew some Pennsylvania Republicans were engaging in strategic voting. “Some people I'm hearing are switching so they can vote somebody in that they think the Republican candidate can beat in the fall. We've heard that numerous times,” he said.

The Boston Globe reported on March 17 about 100,000 Republicans voted for Clinton in Ohio, as did 119,000 in Texas and around 38,000 members of the GOP did in Mississippi, according to exit polling data.

In Texas, considered “must win” by the Clinton campaign, those crossover votes may have pushed Clinton to win. She only beat Obama by 101,000 votes in the Lone Star state.

Think first
Before you criticize this, the Obama campaign in PA (as it was in other states) is pushing for registration changes for Republican and Independents to Democrat.

The Daily Kos was urging leftists to vote for Romney in Michigan.

goose and the gander
Rich has it right. If it were in Obama's favor we wouldn't even hear about it. Its hardly scortched earth politics.

Operation Chaos is an illusion
Of course, according to Rush Operation Chaos is working. It's working in the mind of Rush. Rush needs Obama more then Obama needs Rush. Operation Chaos doesn't even make sense. Operation Chaos is taking credit for natural political events that take place when two candidates enter and one candidate leaves. Until Obama or Hillary gets the nomination, everything that happens is the result of Operation Chaos. Lets see the plans of Operation Chaos in print. If Operation Chaos is working, lets see the written plans and how they effect the candidates on a daily bases. We don't want to hear, see Operation Chaos is working. We want Rush to go into details on a blackboard, or on Fox explaining Operation Chaos documented and proof that it's exactly the reason for natural political events that have happened. It's time to put up or shut up. What will Operation Chaos take credit for next, global warming.

Plus...
Beats counting hanging chads.

Operation Chaos
Democrats are squealing like stuck pigs, now that they are being beaten at their own game.Such hypocrisy! How did we get John McCain? Who wanted that RINO? The MSM,Independents and yes,the dastardly Democrats voted for him,as they knew he was the weakest of the front-runners and conservatives would NOT vote for him,

Now they are crying 'foul'.Threatening to take Rush to court. He is having fun with it and with them.Who cares if they like it or not? As the saying goes 'What's sauce for the goose,is good for the gander.'Looks like their goose may be cooked,if they expect to tell us how to vote.

What a bunch of comics!Better than any comedy show.I hope the entertainment lasts all the way to the convention and I don't want to miss one installment !!!

"36,738 Pennsylvanians re-registered as Democrats since February 25th, according to voter registration statistics made available on the Pennsylvania State Department’s website. This number does not include new Democratic applicants."

For once Dems don't care about exit polls or what registrations show. I'm shocked. Then again, maybe you could find a way to make it a "hate crime".

It's Working So Far
Once I heard about it, conservative callers were phoning in by the dozens during primaries that they voted for Hillary. What happened, Hillary came back into the game long enough for us to uncover more of Rezko and hear about our beloved Pastor Wright.

Obama indeed had a very unfair advantage, he was pampared and catered to by the MSM and the panel of journalists who did the questioning during the debates---which I watched. I can honestly say, they treated Hillary like crap, and I hate the woman! I felt nearly sorry for her.

I will vote for John McCain during the general election, sadly, but I'd rather see him go against Hillary in a fair fight than the False Messiah.

Revisiting an old tactic
My Dad was a Democrat Party regular in Alaska where liberals are more scarce than at a KKK rally. It was an extremely common tactic in the 50s and 60s for Democrats to vote Republican in the primaries. This way, they'd run their Democrat against a weak Republican candidate. Republicans like my mom would wonder how in the world this bozo ever got the nomination and then, if the Democrat was at all palatible (and back in those days they were at least sane) the Republican voters would vote for the Democrat in the general. Thus, Alaska, an extremely conservative state from territorial days, would occasionally put a Democrat in office. Bill Egan, for example. The last few times it was used effectively (to my knowledge because I lost contact with the AK Dem Party after Dad died), we elected Mike Gravel as Senator (shudder) and Jay Hammond as Governor.

This isn't a new tactic. It's just not been used much for 30-40 years and I've never heard Republicans suggesting it before. It's a good way to take advantage of the Democrat divide at the moment.

An observation by a non-political junkie
My husband doesn't really care about politics. He generally asks the opinions of others on candidates and then, I guess, votes for the politico who got the most votes from his friends. Our church friends are all conservative and probably Republicans and his work friends are all union members, so his voting history is probably reminescent of a Richter scale. I practice the Serenity Prayer a lot during campaign season.

Anyway, he noted the other night as we were flipping back and forth between CNN, Fox News and BBC that Obama and Clinton appear to have gotten into a mud-slinging contest which leaves McCain free to talk about the issues. This can't be a bad thing, if even non-political people are noticing. My husband was briefly enamored of Obama (I think the pretty speeches got his attention), but now he's starting to listen to McCain talking about the issues -- well, when he can find coverage. He really likes the BBC (he feels that since they're covering our news as outsiders, they're more balanced -- rolling my eyes), and he has noted that BBC doesn't cover McCain very often and neither does CNN. I've tried to explain media bias to him, but of course, why would the BBC care whether we elect a Democrat or a Republican. Sigh? Still, he's not the only person I've heard say recently that McCain is discussing the issues while Clinton and Obama are playing dirty tricks on one another. The best thing that could happen in this election would be for those two to keep sniping at one another.

Dear Maverick
You will know operation chaos is working when 20% of registered Democrats vote for McCain in November because they can't stomach his racist past.

Just think of it, white middle class Dems voting for a Republican because the Democrats are running an overt, anti-white racist who thinks his bigotted church isn't that cotroversial.

According to the PMSNBC
Political analists anyone registering as a Dem has signed their forms "attesting that the information they provided was true"

We ALL do that!!! It pertains to citizenship - address - age- etc.

BUT
Dan Abrahms took it a step further and claimed the registrants agreed to follow the rules of the Democratic Party!!!
THAT is total BS!! And in fact it is no more than an infantile attempt to threaten people who are participating in Op-Chaos that they are breaking the law.
As long as they give all the correct pertinent information required, no laws have been broken.

Sadly the gang at PMSNBC probably think they do have such 'protections under the law'...like the 'Rules' the Nazi Party & the Stalinists put in place during their failed attempts to take over the free world.
The Lefty-Lib-Dems are playing the 'Fear Card' this time...but it is their own fears that are being exposed as they do.

Ain't it glorious!

W/O=

Snookered by Rush
Everyone who votes for Hillary has been had by Rush. Rush wants McCain to lose the general election because he believes that would be better for conservatives. If Hillary wins the primary, she will beat McCain in the general election. Hillary is geared up for the general election and is just beside herself because she did not get an easy primary victory.

Come November
The REAL racists & bigots will go to the polls.
If the Dem candidate is O'Blame-Ya he will get trounced because the 'closet racists' that live & breath inside the Dem Party won't vote for a black man (though they will tell exit-pollsters they did) and O'Blame-Ya will take the worst beating in Presidential politics though he will get the 99% of the black vote from the 'other' Dem racists who will vote solely on his skin color, GDam to the nations well being!

If the Nominee is Hill-Billary the Dems lose that 99% of the black vote as well as the young & 1st timer college student vote...add that to her VERY high 'disapproval numbers (somewhere around 48%) and McCain still wins BIG!

Enough Republicans know this election is about the Judiciary, National Security and keeping the 'tax & spenders' out of our pocketbooks to quite possibly take back Congress in the process as well.
So even if McCain isn't the 'preferred choice' among Conservatives, he is a far cry from the 'Open Border' Socialists the other side is offering.

W/O=

This is Entertainment
In your wildest dreams you couldn't buy a script like this. This has the potential to go down in history as one of the biggest disasters in Liberal history (until it is revised to include a vast right-wing conspiracy).

If McCain wins (still a big if) this can be made into a TV sit-com, a reality show, a low budget movie (Michael Moore?). The possibilities are endless though I am not sure anyone would pay to see any of this.

Beautiful. Please continue. Did you read David Brooks today? Do yourself a favor.

switch
Cross over votes are old news. By the way, Obama and fast Eddy Rendall are calling for Indies and repubs to cross over too.
It was also said that by signing up Dem you had to pledge your loyalty to the dem. principles.
lol Bet Stalin is dancing a jig in his hell.
Regardless of lefy Dan Abrams it isn't illegal.
I thought he was one of those screaming every vote counts.
Yes, Obama could choose his preacher and quit and Hillary could choose her husband and quit him too.
Bill had been to Bosnia 2 months before. But if he did sent Hillary and Chelsea into a dangerous place it doesn't say much for him.
Hillary made this Bosnia speech in 12-7 and 2-29-8 in TX. Some mis- speak.
Oh god, Lanny Davis is on defending Hillary against Col Hunt who was there at the time.
Don't be naive. Of course Rush will be for McCain when the dems are done destroying them selves. lol
Can't wait for Denver.

Do Unto Others
As much as anything, I suspect that many of the Republicans considering "crossing over" to vote in the Democratic primaries, just to keep the "chaos" alive and well, are gleefully doing so to give the Dems a taste of their own medicine.

No one uttered a peep, when Democrats and Independents crossed over to vote for John McCain in the early primary states, in fact it was highly touted. Since they seem to have accomplished their objective, why not return the favor? For those do-gooders who believe Republicans should be above such tactics, get over yourselves.

Non-Surfer

Thanks for the tip on the Brooks piece. It's an interesting read, although it did require me to temporarily suspend my personal boycott of the NYT website.

The rooster crows -- the sun rises
Cause and effect?

Rush and Laura would have you believe that. But the most recent Pew poll shows that those who identify as Republicans have reached historic low levels:

http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?ReportID=312

In other words, there is an exodus of people leaving the Republican Party. Many of them are re-registering as Democrats.

Yeah, there a probably some ditto-heads re-registering to try to foul up a Dem primary. But according to the scientific studies, most of these "converts" are defecting permanently.

Dennis M
Nonsense. Most republicans identify themselves as conservatives. If they left the party they would hardly join the democrats unless you think they suddenly became liberal. There are those who leave the GOP but most join third parties they consider more conservative. I mean why would any pro gun anti abortion lower taxation person decide to join the dem party unless they have abandoned all those positions? It simply makes no sense.

Rush is looking out for himself
Rush has turned into a hypocrite for his own financial gain. Rush, Ann Caulter, and Hannity have made a good living over the past sixteen years writing books and using the Clinton's as the lightning rod for our hatred for them. There is no one on the political scene that causes such a feeling of you like them or you hate them like the Clinton's. Only when it started to look like Hillary might lose this thing did Rush jump on the Hillary bandwagon. Just when the country has a chance to nail the lid on the Clinton political coffin, Rush, who has told us all for years how much he hates her comes to Hillary's aid trying to get people to vote for her, no, not for her, but for him. Without the Clinton's to tie to his whipping post, he really doesn't have much of a show.

Dennis M
Why wouldn't Republicans want to join the Democrat Party? Morally, they are head and shoulders above the Republicans.Look at the whoring Governor Spitzer...so proud of himself while humiliating his family.

His replacement,Patterson, the whoring new Government.Proudly saying he has had numerous affairs and using cocaine. Now Quame Kilpatrick, the whoring mayor, using city money to join with his concubine.

This has all happened in one week. What great folks in the Democrat Party.Fine, upstanding folks. How many more losers will be bragging about their escapades? Then there's the lying Hillary. How many lies has she been caught in this week? Well, the week is young,so we'll wait.

The proud Democrat Party...what a party...what a country!!!

Lew

You took the words right out of my mouth. The so-called "conservative" radio pundits proved they are nothing but self-serving shills by marginalizing and ridiculing the only proven conservative candidate. A Ron Paul presidency would put them out of business.

Now I hope a democrat wins and they enact the fairness doctrine and put those bums out on the street. Operation Schadenfreude is my dream.

Kool-Aid
Do all of you of "Liberal" persuasion posting your positions of "hope" on a conservative web site actually believe your manifestations of reality? Stop drinking that stuff, it will lead to permanent depression.

operation chaos
so there is something wrong with live repubs voting for the missus clinton. But the dims have registered and voted dims long dead for generations. Better a live vote than one from the cemetary. Except in west vir. There live voters cast their ballots for the brain dead sheets byrd. But of course perhaps the dims are using dead voters to also vote for old sheets. What an idea. You may cease breathing but if you were a registered dim you could cast your ballot through eternity

Apoplectic Democrats Unite!
You can't run against Bush, DeLay, or Newt - so run against Rush! By claiming credit for every bit of mud/truth slung by anyone on the democrat side, I think Rush unnecessarily diminishes his nontheless extraordinary contribution with OpChaos.

Ask a conservative whether he is conservative and chances are he'll say, "Darn straight". Ask a liberal if he is a liberal and he'll mumble something about not being into labels, or that he's progressive.

Liberals help me out here (after you read, no name calling): over the last 20 years,I can't think of a more progressive (tramsformative) person in the country than Rush Limbaugh. Please rattle off half a dozen or so.

Liberals are against progress in Social Security, health care, and ending the teachers union's monopoly in schools. The only progress they are for is mainstreaming sexual deviance.

So there are Obama and Hillary alone in a lifeboat - classic prisoner's dilemma. Who doesn't believe both don't end up dead. And they want to impose their dysfunctionality on the country. Good God I hope not.

Rock on Rush!

Perhaps it would
be best to not allow this cross-over of voters. Neither party gets their best man elected.

Proud Namesake!
As a 24/7 Rush subscriber, I am proud that he has chosen my blog name as the name for his operation! I am laughing hysterically about this!

To those ignorant people who think that Rush NEEDS Hillary or anyone else to be popular are suffering from "wishful thinking".

Rush has regularly trashed GWB when he DESERVES it, as have ALL reputable conservative talk show hosts.

Just because conservatives predominately vote for the GOP doesn't mean that we are total GOP "kool aid" drinkers!

At least conservatives are intellectually honest and vehemently complain about the deficiencies of our own party. Does Harriet Miers or the "Amnesty Immigration" Bill ring a bell? Us conservatives SHUT DOWN the House and Senate switchboards for DAYS during those debacles!

Rush's popularity has NOTHING to do with who is in office. His numbers grew significantly even after Slick Willie was replaced by GWB, and will continue to increase as more and more people hear what he has to say.

We listen because he MAKES SENSE!

Too bad (or maybe too good!) the Dems and drive by media are too stupid to understand that!

Operation CHAOS is funny as can be, and I am truly enjoying the impact it is having!

To see an "out of the box" idea about immigration and a few selected other goodies, click on my name to go to my TH blog. I will be adding some more posts soon, but I have been doing other stuff to disrupt the Dems that is taking up my time.

But Clinton could Clinchit
It seems to me like Democrats like to commit harry-karry, so why do we have to step in and help them? I do not get it,

but I am a rare earth element.

To Our Constitutional Experts
Just wondering, what did our Founding Fathers have to say about doing mischief to subvert an election?

Texans do this all the time
I remember back to the 1960 elections. My parents (from Texas) and everyone they knew were Republicans but always voted democrat in the primaries. Everyone talked about it and laughed.

Nothing new here, sorry, Rush!

But it is fun to watch Hillary and B.O. continue to duke it out.

Can't wait to see which democrat implodes next!

To Rowly
I have heard all over the place that Limbaugh instructed conservatives to request a Democrat ballot and vote for Hillary, and have heard reports that many did so and identified themselves at polling places as Limbaugh's troops, but your post is the first I have heard anywhere of Democrats mischievously voting for McCain. That is interesting. Could you say where you heard it, what TV or radio or newspaper, or where online? I would like to follow up on this and learn more about it. Thanks.

To JD's Stupid Son
What is it with you that you keep putting Democrats and killing in the same sentence? This time it's "Democrats, go out and get guns so you can kill yourselves". On many previous occasions, over months, you have advocated the murder of all registered Democrats and all elected Democratic office-holders (and have given graphic descriptions of how this should be carried out). Do you have some kind of a problem with the United States having more than one political party? You want a one-party nation?

CT - how could one ..

disallow cross-over voting? How would election officials look into the minds of prospective voters to determine their political allegiance? Surely you would not suggest that voters pledge some sort of allegiance to a political party of any persuasion?

My oath is limited to defending the Constitution, which appears to be a quaint position in these oh-so-sophisticated times.

Consider exhibit 1: the behavior of the majority of politicos who take such an oath upon taking elective office. Consider exhibit 2: the actions of party official whose primary objective is to ensure their own longevity.

The political parties before us today have not earned the loyalty you seem to insist we offer them. Let's not go there, please.

Buck
Wasn't Hillary already favored to win Pennsylvania, which has been described as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Alabama in between"? I lived for thirty years half an hour south of the Pennsylvania border can tell you that Pennsylvania's reputation is "racist rural blue collar trailer trash". Isn't that who was voting for Hillary even before Operation Chaos? Hillary has said everything but "Vote for me because I am white", reason enough for rural and small-town Pennsylvanians.

Dear Lilly
Puleeeeze! Even you may remember that the founders were not above a little "mischief" themselves starting with a tea party and escalating a bit.

I think they are perfectly content with the current day mischief designed to keep the Republic safe from Marxists.

lilly
It is common knowledge that it has happened in several states. The Democrats started the crossovers.I have heard it in several places. You know it,also.Do I remember all the places I have heard it? No. That is how we got McCain, though.Conservatives did not vote for him.We split our vote.

I see your little ploy. You don't want to believe it,so you are questioning me and will,of course deny that it happened.Have at it!We all know the time of day!

Rush started asking for crossovers in the Texas election.Seems like it worked, didn't it?It was magnificent!

Bud, I am with
CT in that I think crossover/Independent voting should be disallowed. We could not vote in our state primary because Colorado does not allow Independents to vote in closed primaries. We could have claimed party affiliation 30 days prior to the primary and then voted, but we preferred to keep our Independent status.

Another solution would be for EVERY state to hold its primary on the SAME day. None of this moving up the dates, being disqualified by the parties for moving up the date (and then wanting to change the rules as in the case of Democrats in MI and FL) or competition between states (nah,nah...we're ahead of you so we're more important!) I think this would decrease a lot of the games that are played, both by the party elites and the media, and now by those voters intentionally skewing primary results. I also believe it would give more fair results in the long run.

No question that it's working
Before Op Chaos, the bulk of Republicans were voting for Obama -- as he was more Republican than don Juan Senile McBush. Now, the exit polls show more voting for Hillarious.

Dont bash Hillary; vote for her!
hysterical "hate Hillary" idiots can't see the obvious danger: that Black Nationalist and Muslim lover, Barack Hussein Obama is light years more dangerous to our American way of life, than the triangulating status quo politician that Clinton is.

Instead of blowing stale flatus on the internet, conservative colimnists should be doing everything possible to raise Hillary's approval ratings to stop Obama from even becoming the dem nominee.

If Hillary is the nominee the following things happen:

1. Blacks will cry fraud and stay home on election day, depriving hillary of the black vote

2. Without the black vote, of which democrats generally garner 90% , Hillary loses in a landslide, and the Gop could well take back both houses of the Congress.

3. But if Obama is elected, muslims around the world will be dancing in the streets, dems will pick up house and senate seats, and if anyone here thinks the SCOTUS appointments of President HUSSEIN Obama wont be insanely radical, then they are brain dead.

We can't bash Hillary, at this crucial time, without helping Barack Hussein Obama gain dangerous momentum that could propel the most radical politician in America all the way to the White House.

Fear Obama and his SCOTUS appointments, pardons of black crack dealers, ganstas, "oppressed" black criminals like Abu Jamal, and other dangerous radicals.

Is a little hillary bashing fun at this critical time worth all that?

if taking her down takes the country with her.

Think people!

Waste of time
Conservatives couldn't affect the course of the Republican primary. How can it be remotely credible that they can affect the Democrat nominee by changing party registration? Face it, Conservatives
have lost political viability. You have been reduced to this nonsense? Yeah, you're still important.

I Did Something Similar...
... in 1996 when I lived in the US. I changed my affiliation to Republican and voted for Pat Buchanan who was seen as the 'unviable' candidate at the time. I was surprised by how many people hadn't considered doing the same thing. Simple tactical voting which we in Blighty have been doing for years!!

Answers for lilly
"""Just wondering, what did our Founding Fathers have to say about doing mischief to subvert an election?"""

The constitution makes no rules about how a party may choose its candidate, only how the citizens may choose the winner.

This is not an election yet. This is a primary.

"""...your post is the first I have heard anywhere of Democrats mischievously voting for McCain. That is interesting. Could you say where you heard it, what TV or radio or newspaper, or where online? ."""

No problem. The scheme was hatched by DailyKos founder Markos Moulitsas (sp?). It was where Rush got the idea from.

Here is the original blog from him urging dems to vote for McCain in the Michigan primary.

Have fun. Enjoy the reading.

Sorry, dems voting for Romney, not McCain in michigan.

But dems gaming the system, all the same.

Typical Liberal Bull
They have been doing it for years, how do you think we got stuck with McCain, He is the dems choice not ours. The Dems would lose in a marshmallow fight. The only why they make any ground is through corrupt courts and trashing the Constitution. GO GO GO my all mighty leader Rush.

I don't know, because they're dead...so was my grandmother when she mysteriously woke from the grave and pulled the lever for John Kerry too.

I guess democrats don't enjoy the same games being played on them, huh?

YES
I plan to vote for her this fall too.

She is far more trustworthy and conservative than that Senile Rat Ba$tard the RINOs at the GOP have chosen.

If you do manage to get that Lying Arrogant Senile Geriatric elected as the President, are you willing to take the blame when he starts a World War.

Who will you blame for the $5.00/Gal. Gas Prices to pay for our Carbon Credits.

Who will you blame when he nominates Judges who support McCain-Feingold and Miranda rights for terrorist.

How will the legalization of 20 million (currently Illegal) immigrants effect our jobs, our wages and our economy.

Ya'll keep drinking the Kool-Aid and enjoy your Party!

But, Don't blame me for the results of your stupidity and ignorance.

I'm going to vote for Hillary or write-in a "conservative" for my choice!

Clinto chaos
Obama is obviously captured in the socio/political black bigotry of Black Nationalism exemplified by Wright that seeks crutches and excuses while condemning America.

I wonder why is it that the best the Democrats can do is put up Obama and
Clinton as the Democrats standard barrier? That action places the country at risk considering the possibility that either could be elected.

Dennis M
Were those "scientific studies" conducted by the same 'experts' the Goracle employed to come up with his Glo-Bull Warming Scam?

Funny that reputable scientists with no axe to grind, no money to make off of 'Carbon Credits' (many metoerologists among them) have released a report this very week that details how the Earth is actually well into a COOLING PERIOD!

It isn't so far fetched...

After all, the Dems DO have a brain-dead (literally) Senator from one of the Dakotas I think (Sen Johnson?) still occupying a seat in Congress.

Hillary is the moderate Democrat
I would vote for Hillary over Obama. Obama has an undistinguished record of public service. He does have a record of far-left votes. He surrounds himself with radicals and communists. He gives great speeches that appear to say one thing while often actually meaning something else.

At least with Hillary we know what we're getting.

Voting Mischief
Joe Lieberman also was asking Democrats to crossover and vote for McCain in Michigan in their primary.

lilly writes to rowly:
"..but your post is the first I have heard anywhere of Democrats mischievously voting for McCain. That is interesting. Could you say where you heard it, what TV or radio or newspaper, or where online?"

Whoever wrote that, with liberals, history begins anew each morning, must have had "lilly" in mind.

Funniest thing on this thread, lilly!

Rush wanted "chaos"
not because he supports Hillary but rather to keep the campaign from ending before it revealed fully Obama's background, knowing Republicans would be unmercifully lambasted for racism by the msm if they attempted to "out" Obama. The democrats are doing the job for the republicans.

News to Me
I was not much interested in politics until the week we invaded Iraq. I had the flu at the time and was watching more TV than usual. Nothing I was seeing and hearing was making sense to me and some of it sounded like bizarre reasoning so I got myself a clean spiral notebook, went online, and sent myself to school to start learning some politics. What is a Neoconservative? What is the PNAC? What is the role of The Heritage Foundation in all of this? What is Donald Rumsfeld's background? I googled by the hour and took notes.

If all of this is on Daily Kos I wouldn't know as I don't go there. If Democrats have been voting for Republicans for years to throw the election, I am naive to that as I haven't been following elections "for years"; until Bush II came among us I probaby could not have named four Cabinet members. I came to townhall maybe a year ago when I discovered that I could receive here an explanation (many explanations) of current social phenomena that have puzzled me. My inquiry about sources was made in good faith. So I repeat it: where I can read more about Democrat cross-voting? The gossip you heard at the barbershop doesn't help me---how about a citation or a website?

Two Points
If the object of this exercise is to make Hillary Clinton the nominee because conservatives think she would be easier to defeat in the general election than Barack Obama, then:

1) You-all conservatives have been posting for months that Obama is an empty suit, knows nothing, has never done anything, is just a pretty smile, is just empty words, and is only the puppet of guilt-ridden liberal white puppet-masters. If he is such a dope, he must not be much of a threat: you ought to be able to swat him like a fly. How come he merits all this skulduggery?

2) If you make Hillary Clinton the nominee, it is at least theoretically possible that she may be elected President of the United States, in which case the letters ROFLMAO will have to be painted on White House door and embroidered on every American flag. Be careful what you wish for, etc..

Hello Lilly
Whether we agree or disagree I can say this. You are educating yourself in the issues that you feel are important.

In any election people vote for or against a candidate. Sometimes we choose the "lesser of the two evils". But at least we can vote. That is more than what most of the people on this planet can do.

Tibby

Wobbie scribbled
"The far right needs to feel powerful since they are impotent...there is a lot of hat here, no cattle."

What Wobbie meant to say:

The far left suffers from Logic Deficit Disorder (LDD)...there is a lot of skull here, but no gray matter.

Go Down in Flames Democrat Party
Rush has crafted a brilliant strategy to keep the most corrupt political party in U.S. history in turmoil.

It's ironic that the same political party that tried so hard to not count the votes of overseas military in the election of 04' is now arguing over whether or not they should give the Democrat voters in Florida and Michigan a chance to be heard in the primary.

All the crap we heard from the media about the Republicans trying to steal votes in the last election were lies. In truth, it was the Democrats who were actively trying to prevent people from voting. It was the Democrats who were caught with unmarked ballots and voting machines in the trunks of cars and it was the Democrat Party that stuffed ballot boxes with thousands of ballots from non-existent voters manufactured by the extremist group ACORN.

Now the Democrats are doing to their own people what they have been doing to Republicans for years and I am enjoying every minute.

What baffles me is why otherwise good, honest American citizens would continue to associate with a political party that will screw them like a two-dollar whore if it suits their needs.

Honestly, Lilly
As a conservative who will vote for McCain, if he fails, I would rather see Hillary in office than Obama.

Obama is all those terrible things you stated in your #1 and a bag of cow chips to boot. I would not want him in office because I think our country would destroyed inside and out from his socialism, inexperience, and his lack of judgement.

I make not like Hillary's brand of politics, but she's no schmuck. I at least know what to expect, like much higher taxes and more socialism. But she is shrewd, she knows people,
and I don't think she will allow this country to never defend itself against terror.

So, there will be no LMAO if Hillary wins the POTUS spot. It will be what it is, and we won't be too worse for wear.

Johnny-Come-Latelies
If lilly's political interest started less than five years ago,no wonder she is so naive.I would be,too if that was all the history I knew.I have been a political watcher since before the Watergate Hearings.

I have all the tapes concerning Clinton's impeachment.I worked days and watched them at night.I have really researched the Clintons and believe me,there is quite a history.[The A to Z Guide of Clinton Scandals] is an overview of just SOME of their crimes. There are many more.Hillary was the ringleader in most of the scandals.

The far right is right...No matter how folks try to spin it,we are right. The left cannot bear it and try to deny it,but even they ,in their lucid moments, know it.We do not just feel powerful,we are. This may not be our year..but just like the south,we will rise again!

lilly
"If all of this is on Daily Kos I wouldn't know as I don't go there."

Well maybe you should...you would fit in with THAT crowd much better than with a bunch of Conservative republicans you have absolutely nothing in common (or communist) with.

I might also suggest HuffPo as a site where you wouldn't feel LEFT-out because anyone who can write -

"Wasn't Hillary already favored to win Pennsylvania, which has been described as "Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Alabama in between"? I lived for thirty years half an hour south of the Pennsylvania border can tell you that Pennsylvania's reputation is "racist rural blue collar trailer trash".

REALLY BELONGS on one of those two sites! Birds of a feather, you know.

To Lily
Lily,
I have never responded directly to other posters on TH but just couldn't sit here without asking what exactly what did you mean by the comment
"Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Alabama in between"?

Rowley
Problem is those on the Left do not have very many 'lucid moments' to draw upon.

I've been at this a wee bit longer...at the age of 13 I handed out fliers at the local subway station for Humphrey (what didn't I know then that I know now? PLENTY!) and have stayed 'active' ever since.
The problem with lilly...poor little rich girl, lilly is that this was all so 'below her', no more than a game for the rabble to engage in while she Country Clubbed her way through life. Now she is getting a heaping dose of 'white-guilt' tossed her way and, doesn't know how to handle it.
My guess would be that lilly got wiped out when the dotcom bubble burst and, now finds herself part of the rabble BUT still clings to the 'superiority' she thought she had prior to the 21st century.
I mean really...Pennsylvania & Alabama are "blue collar trash" locals??!!! What she needs is a dose of humility more than a lesson in politics.

W/O=

Lily, again
Miss Lily,
I am sure you are so ashamed of your flirt with "social bigotry" that you an unable to answer my question.
You couldn't possibly have meant anything derogatory with the comment about Alabama because liberals never think that way, do they?

sans pareil
Actually,my dad was always interested in politics and I suppose that's where I got mine.None of my siblings are like me.(My oldest brother was a union man and was brainwashed,so he doesn't count)My oldest son and I are on the same wave length, though.

I really get the idea that liberals think of us as unenlightened. We are behind the times and live in the past. Not progressive.Narrow minded.I am proud of who I am,what I think and although not as well versed as some, know what the truth is.

I owe no man anything. My family worked much harder than most of these modern minority families, with no hand-outs and no hand-ups.I do cringe when I see an old sign that says "coloreds only' or 'whites only',but my family had nothing to do with any of that. When you look at who enforced the segregation laws (and they were laws),it was not Republicans. It was Democrats.

A Democratic governor Orville Faubus)stood in the schoolhouse door to block minorities from integrating Little Rock high after Republican Eisenhower sent he Nat.Guard there.Democrats have short memories.

Spite and relavance, Part 1
Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity, etc., are (in their minds) trying to make the best of a bad situation. While Rush has "Operation Chaos" to prolong Hillary's campaign, Sean Hannity has had a "Stop Hillary Express" campaign for months. What ever will they do to reconcile their difference of strategy? More importantly, who cares?
Currently political parties have no viable mechanism to stop people from crossing over to vote in primaries. As mentioned by others before me, it has happened in the past and will likely continue in the future. I have no problems with that.
I think part of Rush's reasoning for "Operation Chaos" is spitefulness. Despite talk radio's best efforts their "chosen" candidates (Giuliani, Thompson, and later, Romney) were rebuffed by voters; they are now stuck with McCain. That begs the question: if Rush and company really are that influential, then how could the Republicans possibly end up with McCain as their nominee? Rush and Sean were talking almost non-stop for a week trying to convince voters that Ronmey was the last true conservative left in the race after Thompson bowed out, but to no avail. This has got to bruise their egos somewhat.
If talk radio wants to blame the Dems and "independent" voters for this, what better way to get back at them? I think Benny Hill said, "What's good for the goose is good for the gooser." This boils down to spite - no matter who the Democratic nominee is Rush and company will trash them anyway.
(To be continued)

Spite and relavence, Part 2
Another aspect of "Operation Chaos" has to do with relevance. This Democratic primary process looks to me to be their worst nightmare: a contest where the last two candidates are a minority and a woman. Thia has got to be tearing the party in two - and to throw in the super delegate aspect makes things even more unpredictable.
In the light of all that "Operation Chaos" is more hype than substance. Rush's actions are irrelevant as the Democratic Party has so many internal problems that any external influence may be minimal at best.

hm1342
I beg to differ.Rush never endorsed anyone. If you listened, you would know. Why he is doing what he is doing is so the two will bloody up each other before the nomination is settled. It sure is working out, too.

If they have a smooth campaign,no one will know just how dirty each of them is.The left-wing news media surely will not do it,so someone else must do their work for them.Let the games begin!

We have been trying to tell you how we wound up with McCain. The liberals, all, think he will be easy to beat in the fall.He will be so bloodied by the MSM before November,he will be lucky to get any votes at all.The liberals will crucify him.He did not get the conservative vote in the primaries.Liberals voted for him.

If for some farfetched reason McCain should win,it would not be a catastrophe for the libs,as he is more on their side than ours anyway.

Buck
I take exception to you calling Wobbie a Wave! As a former Wave and proud of it....Wobbie would have washed out of boot the first week in! Us Sailor Women have more in the way of guts and hutspa than Wobbie ever had a wet dream of. Please Buck, don't compliment him with the title of Navy Wave.

By the way
I posted on my husbands 'puter. I'm aka Craftyone.

Rowly said:

"I beg to differ.Rush never endorsed anyone. If you listened, you would know."

I do know that Rush and Sean never "officially" endorsed anyone (and I do listen). It's the angst they all have over McCain that logically leads one to conclude Rush and company supported others. Did you not listen to them (especially Hannity) essentially recommend Romney over McCain prior to the last major primary contests? Of course their rhetoric against McCain has softened considerably since he now has the requisite delegates. And they will support and vote for him this fall only because they want the Dems to lose.

Republicans with open primaries in many states are their own worst enemy and are partly to blame for ending up with McCain. Also the egos involved in having so many primaries so early is partly to blame. Many candidates claimed they were the "true conservative" or "most conservative" even when they had weaknesses in one or more areas.
"Liberals" and the MSM did not propel McCain to the top. That would assume that most Republicans are too stupid to look at candidates and vote the issues. Are we all really sheep? BTW my state (North Carolina) hasn't even had our primary yet. Maybe if the primaries were more evenly spaced out this wouldn't have happened...

For lilly
"Just wondering, what did our Founding Fathers have to say about doing mischief to subvert an election?"

Our founding fathers did not anticipate a two-party system. That's why the Constitution says the man who gets the most votes in the Electoral College will be President and the man who gets the second most will be Vice President. This resulted in the Prez and Veep being from different parties until this was changed by amendment.

The founding fathers also did not trust the masses to vote. They restricted voting to "male landowners". And even after this restriction they still didn't trust ordinary male landowners to elect the President. That's why they created the electoral college.

If the founders were alive and observing today they would be shaking their heads sadly and saying "See, this is why we didn't trust the masses to vote.

If the founders had their way today you, as a woman, would never have been allowed to vote.

hm1342
Who is having a problem with primaries, super delegates, etc? Not Republicans. Liberals,Independents and the MSM DID propel McCain.Look at who voted for him!

I agree about the primaries being spaced like they are. That is causing some of the mischief we are seeing with crossover voting.

Democrats are Colossally stupid. They can't run a clean election.Never have had one. This one is a disaster,so I would be careful calling Republicans stupid.

As long as some states have open primaries,we will have cheating. It should come easy for Democrats. That is what they are known for, when it comes to elections.

for wiseone
If the founders were alive and observing today they would be shaking their heads sadly and saying "See, this is why we didn't trust the masses to vote."

That may be true, but who do you think is truly qualified to be an Elector and vote for President?

Who do you think are actually chosen as electors and what makes them more "qualified"?

Rowly
"...so I would be careful calling Republicans stupid."

I never said nor implied that. I commented that if your statements on the MSM were correct that assumed Republicans were too stupid to vote based on the issues. That is not the same as my calling Republicans stupid.

As for running clean campaigns, ask McCain about South Carolina in 2000...fellow Republicans can be just as mean and nasty when the stakes are high enough.

And my main point is that Rush's actions are spiteful and ultimately irrelevant to the Dems choosing their nominee.

The Chaos hasn't begun yet
but it is about to. Why should anyone support either of the elite parties? The Democrats have moved to the far left position of the European Socialists, and the GOP has stepped left to fill the old place formerly held by the "regular liberal Democrats". The proof is the cnadidates themselves, all three elite internationalist, new world order types.

This is the elite crew that is squandering our resources, selling out our sovereignty, weakening our military, and mortgaging our future, all in an effort to usher in their vision of a socialist Utopia. Who needs either party?

If you care about what is happening to this great nation, I urge you to visit two websites that will show you something other than the same old and also give you an opportunity to actually do something.

My website, JOEOLIVAFORPRESIDENT.ORG will explain in much more depth how the elites have duped us into voting the lesser of two evils each election, and it will also give you a link to a dozen other independent candidates who have websites you can explore.

Another site, FIRESOCIETY.COM is strictly grassroots. All articles are written by the members (membership is free), not paid political writers like these on TH. I would suggest that if you are tired of typing away at the keyboard going over the same issues and you want to join others to take action, that you make that visit. An article entitled 'Failure to Plan is a Plan to Fail" is the starting point of a group of folks ready to take action to challenge the socialist Moveon.org types. The need is great and this is the chance to actually get involved.

Check out the two site, you will not be disappointed. Thanks, Joe

Op. Chaos Shows True Colors Of Lib Dems
"Operation Chaos" is a beautiful thing for it shows everyone who Liberal Democrats really are. Hypocritical sore losers. The crossing over party line voting is totally fine until the other team does it & it affects them. Liberal Democrats have been voting in Republican primaries for years attempting to affect the vote & pick the nominee they feel they can more easily defeat in the general election. I'm in a labor union & unions endorse these tactics to get all Democrats elected regardless of what their stances on the issues of the day, as long as those Democrats claim to support labor unions. The loony left blogs endorse these tactics also to elect any & all Liberal Democrats. It's about time Liberals & the Democrat Party got a good, strong dose of their own medicine. Liberal Democrats & the drive-by media can scream, whine, & complain about Republicans engaging in voter fraud all they want. If Republicans are guilty of voter fraud, just remember Liberal Democrats WROTE THE BOOK on the practice. Go Rush! "Operation Chaos" is working!

hm1342
Republicans could not stop enemies voting for McCain.Any more than Democrats can stop Republicans from voting Democrat now.We did vote our issues.McCain just did not share our issues.

When Republicans smeared McCain in S.C.,that was wrong.

Rush may not determine the Democrat nominee. What he IS doing is causing both candidates to fight and ultimately,we will all learn who and what they are.

Not enough is known about Obama, and it is imperative that we all know where his allegience lies. His friends have Muslim ties and that is dangerous for the future if he is elected.December will be too late.

Old Game
This has been going on for ages, and the Dems still lose. You would think they would learn.

Pardon me, but I must...
The purpose for the Electoral College was not a mistrust for the voters.

Fist off, the Electoral College votes in a manner prescribed by the state Legeslature. It was not until 1820 that popular votes even showed up to direct how the electors of a state would vote.

The purpose of the Electoral College was similar to every state having 2 senators. To prevent the seat of power from residing in one concentrated area.

If we have 7 poeple and 4 of them vote that the other 3 should pay everyone's expenses, we have a duly elected principle - yet we also have tyrany.

The founders saw the popular vote as MOB rule, and subject to the whims of the times. Stability was the issue, not trust.

Just a few thoughts.

thanks for the support. In the past poor lilly was an undying supporter of the clintons and make any number of excuses for their behavior. But alas like a fickle teen she threw them over for her new found love for the oblahma. But like all libs it doesn't really matter who the dims run. Should the missus clinton get the nod she will return to the clinton camp like some old repentant sinner seeking absolution for her sins of false loyalty. It matters not which socialist wins, she will support either.

Some of them started "news papers" and wrote anonymous pamphlets just to slander their political opponents.

But the big one here would be Alexander Hamilton, who got into an illegal Dual in order to stop Burr's political career. He paid a heavy price for that piece of mischief, but it worked.

Any of the "mischief" of today is small fry compared to the goings on 200+ years ago.

Wildwest
LOL, you're right, Lilly did support the Clintons before she knew Obama existed, and now she throws the Clintons under the bus for her new symbol of what politics should look like.

The only way she would ever dump Obama is if we allowed an illegal alien who spoke no English, no education and joined La Raza, run for president.

She would throw Obama under the bus in a heartbeat for that candidate, it speaks volumes of how not only could he unite a people...but two countries as well!!! That would certainly bring on a lot of that change!

Let the Dems keep on going...
The Democrat party looks like a scene from the the book/movie ALIVE. They are chewing each other apart and we Conservatives are just watching and waiting. The main course will be served in Colorado in late August at the DNC Convention (If there is anything left on the bones, otherwise it’s time to make soup.)

Bill Clinton is called a McCarthy-ite, Bill Richardson is labeled a “Judas” by James Carville, Liberal Feminists are upset that Hillary as a nutcracker figure is OK for some but they want to know why it’s so wrong for Obama be portrayed as a Stepin Fetchit action figure? Kennedy & Kerry are abandoning the will of Massachusetts Democrats and drinking the Obama Super Delegate Kool-Aid, and Hillary has to make up stories to punch-up the FACTS that came to light when her calendar of events as the wife of the President of the United States was released this past week. CHOMP. CHOMP, CHOMP.

Pass fava beans and a nice Chianti.

Bamadox
Sorry, perhaps I didn't make my meaning clear. When I quoted the saying that Pennsylvania consists of Philadelphia and Pittsburg connected by Alabama, I mean to convey the idea that the Pennsylvanian hinterlands are populated by poorly educated, socially regressive, backwards, incompetent people. Like Alabama.

You're from Alabama? Tell us, what ever happened about that law you folks were trying to pass that was going to ban from schools, colleges, universities, and public libraries, any book by a homosexual author or having a homosexual character?

To wiseone
Re "Our Founding Fathers did not trust the masses to vote": after what I've been reading on townhall, I can see their point.

Wow Lilly, Such Charm
I neve pride myself to be the bell of any ball, but it's amazing how others (liberals) rush to your defense, claiming you never say a disparaging word against anyone and how decent you are. That you also don't deserve the hateful arrows given to you by other posters, such as WildWest.

Well, I knew it was just a matter of time when your empathetic, liberal, love everyone nature comes through...sarcasm.

Here's Lilly! :
" When I quoted the saying that Pennsylvania consists of Philadelphia and Pittsburg connected by Alabama, I mean to convey the idea that the Pennsylvanian hinterlands are populated by poorly educated, socially regressive, backwards, incompetent people. Like Alabama."

Nice....nice....I like it. Gee, and I thought you loved poorly educated, socially regressive, backwards, incompetent people, especially Alabama. Oh, excuse me. You only love them and coddle them to your bossom if you can finger their demise in society to it being Bush's fault.

But I like your seething dislike for others less fortunate than you. I enjoyed your broad swooping generalizations too. I like your style when you meshed in the entire state of Alabama into your poetic prose of hate.

You have the force of Pastor Wright in you, old one. Why didn't you summarize it up with one of Obama's quips, and call them "Typical White People" instead?

Thanks Lily
I appreciate you clearing up the meaning of your statement for me. I also understand more clearly who you are.
Obviously you have never been to Alabama or you would know there are people here who are as you describe just as there are intelligent and well educated people.
I have seen in the places I have visited that there are all kinds of people everywhere.
As for your homosexual remark, I don't care what your sexual preference is, I would prefer not to hear about it.

Why weren't the Lefist Moonbats here
just as incensed when the DNC bussed huge numbers of people into the NH primaries to vote for McCain claiming to be Republican. The NH primaries should be declared null and void until they harden up their residency requirements. Right now all you have to say is you're "thinking of moving there in the future" and you get a ballot to fill out.

THAT'S how we got McCain the Leftists favorite Republican who stabs conservatives in the back at every opportunity. If you think Ashley Dupre was a professional whore what do you call McCain?

The hypocritally challenged leftists cannot,or will not admit any wrongdoing. When they are forced to look at themselves,by some of us they, like children, say "you do it, too".Mostly, they just deny, deny, deny.

I could not believe our favorite moonbat, lilly, actually challenged me about Democrats voting in Republican primaries. She had no idea that had ever been done(she said). They see no evil,if it is done by their side.

I switched.
My doctor wife and I will be proudly voting for Hillary Clinton in York, PA this April--sporting "Hillary '08 (April), McCain '08 (November) buttons underneath our coats as we go to the Democratic primary.

We might even be so tacky as to order "Operation Chaos" t-shirts so as we remove our jackets after voting, all the Democraps in the room can see what's going on.

Pennsylvania will go for Hillary. And she's a Clinton, which means she and her husband have a thousand sneaky tricks in the toolbox. If they can ride this Wright thing in the right-wing media, covertly encouraging it so that it works its way into the drive-bys' standard rotation between the PA primary and the convention, the resulting PR bath taken by the Obama campaign may cause all those superdelegates to repent of switching from Hillary to Obama, and switch back.

That's the gambit, and it has to be played with subtlety and care. The Clinton stiletto is out for Obama, and it bears the name of Jeremiah Wright. Even if Obama survives the mugging he's going to get after the PA primary is declared in Clinton's favor, the media blitz the Clintons have planned for him will be debilitating not only among undecided independents, but also among actual patriotic Reagan Democraps.

And it will tear things with the black vote, without which Hillary has zero chance of winning the general. The Clintons are finished, even if the Wright gambit gets her the nomination.

Which is of course why I'm proudly supporting the harpy.

My lord, Lily.
I just scrolled up and read your slander of your neighbors as racist, rural blue collar trailer trash.

Here in Dallastown our risk of getting mugged is a tiny fraction of what yours is in Baltimore, the most thug-dominated town in the US of A.

Any Baltimorean (half an hour south of the PA line) who has the idiocy to disrespect York county to the north is like a Mexican in Tijuana telling everybody what a bunch of trash lives in San Diego.

Nice try.

Operation Chaos II
Democrats are left with but a few options, as we have been able to determine. Any argument or dialog that denounces the strategy of Operation Chaos will likely result in Democrats being further defined as “Weak” and “Whining”, an option obviously explored far too often. Democrats have spoken of Operation Chaos in low tones, on Talk Radio and Internet Blogs, denouncing its effect, rather real or perceived. What matters most is not its effectiveness, as touted by Conservatives, but how to leverage the net result, Media coverage. In their quest to maintain a stage for the Democratic Presidential candidates to “bloody” the other, Conservatives have given the Media a greater call to explore the nuances of the Democratic campaign, thus, broader coverage. Democrats can realistically benefit from Operation Chaos by continuing a soft-ball approach to differentiation during the next several weeks, conduct themselves civilly, and shape the dialog, as Sen McCain takes a back seat….. Operation Chaos II

Operation Chaos II may be the Saving Grace that both Sen Clinton & Obama need to further articulate their positions on issues that have been tracked as being the most important to all Americans. Consider it Political Crisis Management, Operation Chaos II may very well be the best approach to campaigning for Democrats nationally.

What I Learned This Week | Operation Chaos II

http://whatilearnedthisweek.wordpress.com/operation-chaos-i i/

Operation Chaos
Putting it bluntly, Rush Limbaugh is an idiot, and anyone who supports his un-American ideals is an even bigger idiot. To call himself the Commander-in-Chief of Operation Chaos which promotes the disruption of a true and fair democratic election process is flat out unpatriotic. He tries to get his "infiltrators" ("infil-traitors") to register as Democrats and vote for Senator Clinton because he believes she would be McCain's easiest opponent. He then turns around and say that Senator Obama has zero chance of winning the Presidency. If this is true, then there would be no need for "Operation Chaos" and he should let the election play out as is.

The fact of the matter is that ANYONE seeking to undermine the integrity of the democratic process is a political terrorist. This is on the same level as TREASON. I am a recently retired U.S. Marine, and Iraq War veteran. It disappoints me to think that I spent all of my adult life in service defending the right of this moron to do the things he does. If you enjoy reducing our democratic election process to one that mirrors elections in third world countries, then I hope you follow your "Commander-in-Chief" straight to jail.
