Was the Copenhagen Global Warming Summit Walk-Out a Win for the U.S.?

Watch Ann Coulter's (unofficial) CPAC Speech

Best-selling author and columnist Ann Coulter elaborated to Conservative Political Action Conference participants why she said she would campaign for Democrat Hillary Clinton for president over Republican John McCain.

“She won’t want to be the first girl President who loses a war… and she [Hillary] would actually enjoy torture in Guantanamo,” Coulter said in a Friday afternoon speech at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington D.C.

The event was held at the CPAC convention hall, but not sponsored by CPAC-- largely because of controversial remarks she made at the convention last year about former North Carolina Senator John Edwards.

Instead, it was organized by Citizens United, Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute, Human Events, Young America’s Foundation and Townhall. It was not held in the main ballroom where President Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney spoke earlier in the conference, but in a room nearby.

More than 500 people attended the event. Many of audience members wore large stickers that said “I want Ann Coulter” implying they wished she was permitted to speak on the main ballroom floor.

“We love you, Ann!” several audience members shouted as she approached the podium.

”As this speech indicates Ann Coulter is the most popular speaker CPAC had in modern time,” said YAF spokesman Jason Mattera.

Coulter tried to bring cheer to conservatives who dread a second Clinton Administration

“If Hillary gets elected at least we’ll get the silverware back!” she quipped.

In her remarks, Coulter said she was certain McCain would not nominate any judges for the Supreme Court “without checking with his good friend Teddy Kennedy.”

“I don’t think my girl Hillary is going to listen to Teddy Kennedy anymore!” Coulter said, taking a shot at Kennedy’s decision to endorse Obama over Clinton.

Coulter compared McCain to former Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, who also service in the military. Coulter noted Democrats believed Kerry would win because, “Oh, he’s a war hero.”

“That’ll work,” Coulter said sarcastically. “I predict our strategy will work as well as it did for the Democrats.”

Coulter noted Barack Obama’s popularity briefly. She said his biggest selling point was “he is one of the least dangerous people I know named Hussein.”

“His first big accomplishment was being born half-black,” Coulter said. “He wouldn’t be running for President if he weren’t half-black.’

She said she would be able to help Clinton’s campaign because “I actually know some black people.”

Where Coulter Belongs: Nursery
For Ann Coulter's recent bout of hysteria, immaturity and stupidity, the place where Ann Coulter belongs is in a nursery.

What I just wrote about Coulter may sound harsh, but it isn't. I don't care in the next four years to lose the Iraq war, watch appeasement-minded Democrats try to "relate" to the radical Islamic extremists or see left wing judges appointed to the federal judiciary; but that is what will happen if the Democrats win the White House in November. For what is really important right now, my view is that John McCain is actually the best candidate for the Republicans and for the country. The polls show him as the only Republican beating Obama and Hillary, and John McCain knows his stuff with respect to military matters and foreign policy.

Also, I am a McCain guy, but I agree with MittGuy's 5:42 PM post 100%. Romney did show much class, and McCain is a great American seeking to mend the party.

To JD's Mistaken Handsome Son
No, Coulter is not carrying a load. She went off the deep end, along with Malkin and Ingraham.

Hey Phil
McCain wouldn't be "seeking to mend the party" if he hadn't first been trying to subvert the party.

Amanda, be more accurate...
Ann Coulter said she would campaign for Hillary if McCain got the nomination.

Rush, Ingraham, Sean have NOT said they would NEVER vote for McCain.

Those who supported McCain and Huckabee after it became clear Huckabee could not win may get what they deserve as well and impose the same on the rest of us.

The problem is a really dumb primary system that almost guarantees picking the wrong cantidate by splitting the votes for the better cantidates.

JD's son
Excellent point! IMO, many of the so called conservative talk show hosts have crafted and amended their views to accommodate their audience or enhance market (eg. Hannity, Oreilly, Medved) and some haven't (egs Rush, Levin).

But the women you cite (Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Michele Malkin) haven't given an inch and continue to be widely popular.

Congress would probably be an entirely different place if strict term limits were in place. That's a large part of what's wrong with the place: men of good intention are elected and are swept up by the power and the perks of the office.

CA would be far worse off (nanny fascist/liberal-wise) if the people hadn't put a chain on these legislators some time ago.

Recently they made one of their umpteenth attempts to loosen those chains (presented in a disingenuous fashion as they all have been), but it was again beaten back. Now in 2008, 42 of them will have to find consulting jobs (and the lobbyists will have to break in a new law maker).

The career politician is the curse of us all when holding the job becomes more important than the representation. And this is largely why many of these GOP pols surrender their integrity as well as their spine.

Ann Plays Them All for Fools!
Smart thinking, Ann. Ann is parodying the tilt her "former" party has made to the Left. She's parodying the "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!" mentality of the Modern, Moderate/Liberal GOP that now won't even recognize her Constitutional right to speak at EVEN the SO-CALLED "CONSERVATIVE" CPAC wing of the GOP! My GOD, if ever there were a time for a 3rd party, it is NOW!!! I have been spouting off forever and a day and will continue to spout off until the cows come home and until the cows become hamburgers that CONSERVATIVES MUST ABANDON THE GOP AND START A 3RD PARTY. Ann, once again, you succeed marvelously at showing the limp-wristed, moderate, politically correct, politically daft Mama's boys in the GOP that they have just thrown away an entire election in the name of being politically correct and "ELECTABLE". How ironic? It couldn't be any more the opposite! Hillary will win in a landslide like Reagan did in 1984. THE GOD-AWFUL STUPID MORONS in the GOP haven't learned anything even from MODERN history!!!

For wally
"The problem is a really dumb primary system that almost guarantees picking the wrong cantidate by splitting the votes for the better cantidates."

Another problem with the Republican primary system is that we have open primaries and winner-take-all states. This allows McCain to win all the Republican delegates in states where he didn't even get a plurality of the primary votes of real Republicans. In several states McCain won pluralities by getting a heavy independent and crossover vote.

With the primary rules the way they are we Republicans wind up with a candidate chosen for us by non-Republicans.

for grubby
grubby writes: "Congress would probably be an entirely different place if strict term limits were in place. "

Term limits were ruled unconstitutional in Federal court.

You would need a Constitutional Amendment to change the terms by which a Congressmen or Senator can serve.

Good luck with that.

THE IDIOTS IN THE GOP!!!!
Hannity for the last year has been all about Giuliani - a MODERATE LIBERAL. Two days before the election he finally tells his audience after learning that his candidate, Giuliani, has pulled out and his buddy, Ann Coulter, is pulling for Romney, that "Oh, just for the record, I'm voting for Romney in the New York Primary on Super Tuesday!" What timing, Sean! Bill Bennett, another stupid New Yorker, who happens to have also been a former Democrat before he joined the Reagan cabinet, also was a shrill for Giuliani. I can't count how many times Rudy was on their show. Laura Ingraham was pulling for Tancredo which was excellent, but she was on tv last night saying she would vote for McCain now that she has no other choice. Laura, what happened to your convictions??? When Conservative talk radio can't recognize and pull for TRUE CONSERVATIVES like Tom Tancredo and Duncan Hunter from the get-go, why would we not find ourselves in the predicament we're in today? In addition, the Democrats smartly have benefited from their past ignorance with trying to run 8 or more candidates for the Presidency. They have learned wisely to apportion their delegates proportionately in each state primary so as to better reflect the wishes of their true Democratic base and true Democratic Majority throughout the nation as a whole. On the other hand, the GOP, with its eternally ignorant taskmasters have been so inured to the "next-in-line" mentality that they never bothered to examine closely how their currently predominant winner-take-all primary system could thwart majority Conservative opinion. Thus, we have the ABORTION POLITICS of the INCOMPETENT GOP leadership that we find ourselves stuck with at the moment.

for wiseone
wiseone writes: "Another problem with the Republican primary system is that we have open primaries and winner-take-all states."

It's not the GOP that makes those rules.

For New Hampshire, for example, the fact that the primary is open (and the first in the nation) is set by NH state law. Independents can vote in either the GOP primary or the Dem primary. Ditto for the Virginia state primary--it's open by Virginia state law.

Yes, the GOP can punish a state by refusing to seat its delegates at the convention; we're seeing the Dems do such things this year. But a candidate who thinks he can win in those states may protest that such a move is unfair. (If the Dem nomination process remains close, they could be in for a bitter credentials fight at the convention as Hillary fights for seating every possible Hillary delegate.)

now that I'm voting Dem/lib
for the first time I need to practice:

You men who are insulting Ann just hate intelligent women. What? Oh yeah, she's a conservative. Heck. This is gonna be harder than I thought.

Well, alls I know is Ima votin' for Hillary or Obama. Thanks, Mods!

Great idea
ScarletPimpernel,

We are now the "mavericks".

Excellent.

Let's see how McCain likes it.

Ann is Right As Usual
Ann is not doing parody; this is a deadly serious discussion of what McCain will mean for the GOP and the country. He is Democrat-Lite and just as Judy Barr Topinka in Illinois, he will lose to the real Democrat. The media will begin to point out his less-than-desireable traits and Obama will have his halo increased -- just watch for all the pictures with of him with light behind him. We won't be able to tell him from Jesus by the time he is fully packaged to sell.

I'm furious that people who don't vote Republican can get to vote in our primaries and skew the results so that we get a candidate who does not represent conservative values!

McCain is no liberal
I don't get it. I am a leftish sort of guy, and yes I respect John McCain for being principled about such matters as integration and torture, and yes abortion and gay rights even though I disagree with him on those issues. But I would never vote for McCain because except for a few selected issues, his views are strongly conservative. He will appoint "strict-constructionist" judges who will vote to reverse Roe v. Wade; he is against gay rights, even though he does not believe that it is wrong for an all powerful government to impose its views on the states (he supports DOMRA, doesn't he?); he is opposed to torture, but hell, so are almost all the generals and admirals; and he worries about global warming, but I am amazed at the people without science backgrounds who are so certain that a small minority of scientists are skeptical--global warming is not an idealogical issue, or shouldn't be--it is a scientific issue and if you don't have the background to evaluate the supposed "debate" you probably should accept what seems to be close to scientific consensus, or at least say we should be, shall I say it, conservative, when it comes to this issue since if the naysayers to global warming are wrong, the planet is in a heap of trouble.

So do I admire McCain? Yes. Could I vote for him? No. Would I be upset if he were elected? Plenty.

Immigration
In my rambling comments above, I said integration when I meant to say immigration. Liberal slip of the typing hand I guess.

Sad Day for those...
Who actually used to respect Coulter, such as myself. What she's doing is detrimental to the party, and if it helps get Hillary elected, to the country. Those thinking of sitting this one out or voting 3rd party/Dem need to understand that the future of this country, the war on terror, and the choices for the SCOTUS hang in the balance, which are much more important than petty differences or ego trips. I pray people will come to their senses, and pull the lever for McCain in Nov.

Yooper

You hit it right there. There hasn't been a media word with regard to the less than honorable tactics the Bama man used to get his Senate seat. As a two year Senator, he was purely a media creation.

Of course, McCain has been as well and he created his own as well as the Bama man's vehicle: McCain/Feingold.

Now that he's the presumptive GOP mominee, the media is going to turn on him like a snake. They're going to make him look old, tired and grumpy and they'll drag out every skeleton he's ever tried to hide.

There's a lesson here: if you've been constructed by the media, it can destroy you just as easily.

Better to let the hammer fall...
--
...on the head of Bubba's Ball-and-Chain (I'm *HOPING* her particular species of scum forms on top of the stagnant cesspit of the Democrat Party) than on a nominally Republican president.

The "Rockefeller Republicans" have done their "moderate" best to achieve a wonderfully bipartisan undermining of the U.S. economy, and the chickens will be coming home to roost - with a vengeance - in the next several years.

We're getting the beginning of the recession now, and no sensible conservative wants a McCain presidency to begin in '09.

This is a load of manure best experienced by the American people while it's heaped hip-deep around Hillary Clinton.

We know where we want the stench and suffering to be associated, and it's not near anything even remotely resembling the Republican Party.

And, whether we like it or not, John McCain *CLAIMS* to be a Republican.

So much for the perils of "The Big Tent."

It's going to be critically important that the GOP remain the Opposition Party, to whom the American people can turn when the Democrats do their dimwitted dirigiste best to cope with the horror that years of porkbarrel "bipartisan consensus" must bring down upon the nation.

As they get the generous bulk of the blame for steering the nation deeper and deeper into disaster, we'll be able to provide a *REAL* conservative alternative.

By then, with the disastrous campaign of "moderate" malefactor John McCain behind us, we'll have been able to bring our "limited government" philosophy more into line with what Ron Paul has been advocating - sensibly, intelligently, persuasively - and we'll save both the GOP and the country from the scourge of government gone into the sewer.

Ann Coulter and Bill Clinton
Why didn't Ann Coulter support the candidate that her first choice Duncan Hunter endorsed, Mike Huckabee? For the same reason that Rush, Sean, Mark, and Laura didn't: Mitt was up in the polls!

That's right, they all have that in common with Bill Clinton.

For those who missed it...
Coulter has gone on both Mike Gallagher's and Sean Hannity's talk shows and explained that she genuinely believes that McCain is further to the left than Mrs. Clinton.

Rush Limbaugh has said that he believes there is no appreciable difference policy-wise between McCain, Clinton, and Obama, and that personality-wise Obam has the edge on the other two by far.

Limbaugh has also said that any one of the three will tank the economy if they get their way, and the best hope to stop them is a strong Republican presence in the Congress, especially the Senate where 41 determined Republicans can filibuster (obstruct) a lot of foolish legislation. He goes on to point out that even a determined group of Republican Senators will NOT be able to obstruct the agenda of a liberal Republican President, which is what McCain would be.

The best hope for the country is an incompetent Democrat, preferably Obama, obstructed by a solid Republican minority in the Senate.

For 1Responder
Why is it such a sin for Ann, Rush, Sean, Mark, and Laura to go with Mitt because he "was up in the polls", but it's perfectly OK for McCain to have spent the last seven years sucking up to whatever the liberal media said was the most popular position on issues ranging from Rumsfeld to ANWR to judges?

Time to learn Spanish
Hurray for us - We've finally won.. Now that our new president will be either McCain, Obama or Hillary, we will certainly get an amnesty bill for the poor unfortunates who happened to be born somewhere other than in the USA.
I propose that ALL Americans be forced to learn Spanish so that we can properly greet and converse with our new citizens from South of the border. Failure to do so would result in huge fines which would go into a fund to fight global warning.
After that we should start teaching our children about the beauty of homosexuality with mandatory classes starting in the third grade. Our schools can start showing films of gay men making love, so that our kids can learn about the joys of sodomy at a very early age.
Finally, we can start giving tax breaks to all the Muslims in the country who have been discriminated against during the Bush administration. We can pay for this by raising taxes on all church-goers, NRA members and Nascar fans.
It's a new day in America so just be sure to vote for your favorite liberal, whether they are a Democrat or a Republican. And just thank God/Goddess that he/she is looking down on us here in the good old USA.

Still cute, but time to grow up now.
Annie,

You're still very cute, but your bitterness is beginning to weigh on me. You made your name by being smart, appealing to frustrated people, and giving them catharsis. Only a cute, tall, tough blonde could get away with your invective. Now, you are helping those same frustrated people whose fragile feelings you have nurtured move from denial to anger. Soon, with or without you they'll become depressed, and then they will get over their childish rebellion against the Republican party and campaign hard to put John McCain in the White House. Annie dear, once you're on top, you have to stay on top by adapting. Hillary will not return your love. There are plenty of people who have more money than you to give to her. If you want a female president, maybe you should eat a large portion of humble pie, support John McCain, and one day you could make your own run, as a loyal Republican.

wiseone ...today at CPAC... Anne...
spoke to the young Repugs...
She actually said that she COULD be convinced to vote for McCain...
I suspect that it would take his cutting off a finger to show enough sincerity but...
she did say that :)

To fmrFed re 6:29 PN Post
The notion that there is some "Swift Boat" story about John McCain is a bunch of hooey, and your doubting of McCain as a great American is disgraceful.

McCain was a Navy combat aviator who flew jets off and on carriers during the Vietnam War to conduct bombing missions over North Vietnam, which had one of the toughest air defense systems in military history. On the day that McCain was shot down, he took off from a carrier, flew over Hanoi and bombed a power plant there, was shot down by a surface-to-air missle, bailed out but was very badly injured to the point of near death when captured; he thereafter endured 6 years as a P.O.W. refusing preferential treatment and subjected to real torture -- e.g., McCain had his arms broken, he was hung by his broken arms and then beaten senselessly by sadistic North Vietnamese guards.

After the war, McCain was elected to Congress, was a foot soldier in the Reagan Revolution and has since served over 26 years in Congress, specializing in miilitary matters and foreign policy.

True conservatives are patriots who honor such patriots as McCain.

To Flame re 6:24 PM post
Het Flame, John McCain did not try to subvert the party. In 2004, John Mccain campaigned as hard as anyone for GW Bush's reelection for President. In 2006, McCain campaigned as hard as anyone for the election of Republican congressional candidates. McCain has been the most ardent supporter of the Iraq War. Even his supposed apostasies, McCain-Feingold and immigration, were fully supported by the President. And how is being a pro-life fiscal conservative getting into arguments in Congress about the need to cut federal spending undermining the GOP? To the contrary, McCain has tried to hold the GOP to fiscal conservatism at a time of fiscal excess. You just have a lot of antipathy to McCain that is not justified. How about reading or re-reading McCain's speech to GPAC, whichever the case may be?

To grubby re 6:49 PM Post
no, grubby, "JD's Handsome Son' does not make a goo dpoint about Coulter, Ingraham and Malkin being principled as opposed to male Republicna commnetators. Suicide politics is not manly or intelligent. Getting Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama elected because you have a hissy fiut over the fact th evoters hose differently for the Republican nominee is really immature and stupid.

SJ DOC you are right on target
What almost invariably trips up the parties is that once they are in office for any length they get fat and lazy. If Dems prevail this fall, and the Dem does well enough to get re-elected in 2012, they will be facing a very lean, very hungry, very energized GOP electorate, assuming the party has coalesced around a leader by that time.

McCain Is No Liberal
John McCain is no liberal.

Let's review what liberals believe. They are basically anti-military socialists who will increase government spending, accept defeat in Iraq, pursue appeasement policies in foreign affairs, seek outright amnesty in immigration, promote pro-abortion policies and nominate left wing judges to the federal bench.

John McCain is a pro-life fiscal conservative who served his country as a Navy combat aviator and P.O.W., who will cut Government spending, who has been right all along on Iraq and will insist on victory in Iraq, who has been and will be a hawk in foreign policy, who will cut the corporate tax rate to spur business, who accepts the judgment of the majority of American people that law enforcement in immigration must come first and who pledged to the Federalist Society in January 2007 and thereafter that he will nominate strict constructionists to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mitt guy's first post...
...Ann has more to say, has more talent, and is twice the man you'll ever be. Head over to the Daily Kos and rant Mr. Rino. Juan McCain is a poor excuse for the Republican nominee.

The Kennedy / McCain amnesty bill will be shoved down our throats. Passing amnesty will be much more tough with a Democrat in office. (even though they want it just as badly) This is true because the Republican congress will not just bend-over for a Democratic President.

To wiseone: Coulter Is Delusional
Sure, Coulter can go on a talk show and say that she "sincerely" believes that McCain is farther to the left than Hillary Clinton. But at that point, everyone has to accept that Coulter is totally delusional and deserves laughed at and scornedfor having degenerated into a nut case. I mean it. That anyone gives her air time for her idiocy is a shame.

Hillary Clinton is an anti-military socialist who will increase government spending, accept defeat in Iraq, pursue appeasement policies in foreign affairs, seek outright amnesty in immigration, promote pro-abortion policies and nominate left wing judges to the federal bench. Hillary Clinton voted AGAINST Roberts and Alito to be appointed the U.S. Supreme Court and denounced General Petraeus.

John McCain is a pro-life fiscal conservative who served his country as a Navy combat aviator and P.O.W., who will cut Government spending, who has been right all along on Iraq and will insist on victory in Iraq, who has been and will be a hawk in foreign policy, who will cut the corporate tax rate to spur business, who accepts the judgment of the majority of American people that law enforcement in immigration must come first and who voted for pledged to the Federalist Society in January 2007 and thereafter that he will nominate strict constructionists to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mccain voted FOR Bork, Roberts and Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court. He has constantly honored General Petraeus.

I am starting to think Coulter is a turncoat to conservatism. Perhaps Andy Stein and Bill Mahrer have done to Coulter what someone did to David Brock.

Phil Byler
Your most recent post is a bit on the incoherent side. Not only has your hate for Ann affected your typing grammar and spelling but your reading comprehension as well.

FYI, the female pundits were being compared to elected GOP males. And your characterization of my posting most likely reflects the maturity of your own world view more than the quality of my commentary.

To wiseone; You are a Fool
You are no wiseone, but a complete fool, if you think that it is a good idea to allow a Democrat Congress and a Democrat President to lead the nation in the next four years. The Democrats will be able to stock the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Courts of Appeals with fresh left wing judicial appointments, to withdraw from Iraq in a way to achieve defeat and to pursue appeasement policies that put us at risk with the radical Islamic extremists. The Democrats are getting record number of voters in the primaries this electoral season; what makes you think that the Democrats will be vulnerable in four years? They weren't after four years of Bill Clinton. The only Republican who the polls show can beat Hillary or Obama is John McCain; and yet, he is the one person whose defeat you ardently desire. Pardon me for saying again, what a complete fool you are.

To grubby re 9:32 PM Post
Here is a corrected post in reply to your 6:49 PM Post. There were some typos and incomplete phrases because I typed too fast, but my point is quite lucidly conceived:

"No, grubby, 'JD's Handsome Son' does not make a good point about Coulter, Ingraham and Malkin being principled and strong minded as opposed to supposedly weak-minded male Republican commentators. Suicide politics, as advocated by Coulter, Ingraham and Malkin, is not manly or intelligent. Getting Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama elected because you have a hissy fit over the fact the voters chose differently for the Republican nominee than what they said they wanted is really immature and stupid."

My 9:16 PM and 9:27 PM posts elaborate on why I think that the opposition to McCain is not at sensible.

For Phil Byler
You are the fool.

McCain has shown he can't be trusted, yet you insist on trusting him.

At least with a Democrat in the White House there will be a chance for determined opposition to the stupid, liberal agenda that will be proposed regardless of which of these three liberal stooges wins the White House.

McCain actually believes in man-made global warming.

He wrote the amnesty bill.

He opposed the tax cuts.

How is Mitch McConnell going to filibuster "cap-and-trade" when it's being pushed by a Republican President?

McCain has admitted he knows nothing about economics. How is going to get the tax cuts made permanent when he needs a majority in the Democrat-controlled Congress to do it?

How is he going to get even one judge confirmed that would overturn Roe/Wade?

He has bitterly and begrudgingly agreed that "I'll build the damn fence" (note the egotistical use of the first-person singular here).

McCain has not even promised to revise his position on drilling ANWR or to make any other improvements in our current energy policy, which essentially is to obstruct and disrupt the producers of energy at every turn.

The first time the NYT or the WaPo blasts him as too conservative he'll go running to the Democrats and ask them what he can do please them.

Rush Limbaugh is right. This so-called "maverick" is anything but. He is a hopeless suck-up to the MSM. In other words, a de facto liberal.

One more for you Phil
"I am starting to think Coulter is a turncoat to conservatism."

grubby is right. You need to do something about your CDS (Coulter Derangement Syndrome).

Phil, no one is suggesting...
that the conservative core of the Republican party should commit "suicise." As a matter of fact, Laura Ingraham sitting in for Bill O'Reilly said that she would now vote for McCain over Hitlery Clinton.

The conservative movement is not one dimensional as is the liberal establishment. We Reagan conservatives will try and elect our local/state politicians to positions of power. Juan McCain will be ignored if he becomes El Presidente.

The illegal immigration problem would be better served with a Dem in office, as I mentioned earlier because the Republican establishment will fight a Dem, but may work with Juan McCain.

Our country's sovereignty is at stake.

JD's Handsome Son
Good Post. One must accept a certain degree of political correctness nowadays but, the pendulum has swung far too far. Spineless aptly describes the, kow towing to diversity, and other anti free speech tools of the left.

Coulter, you go girl. Tell it like it is. If CPAC is going to cower and not allow diverse opinions then, they are no better than the liberals. We know how they handle apostasy from ideological purity, look at Joe Lieberman. McCain will be Bob Dole. The only reason republicans didn't yank GWB after one term is the danger level was still too high. With the middle east flame burning lower, only the absolute perfect candidate would have stopped the dem tide anyway. Shoving McCain down our throats is a desperate attempt to woo the democrats and indies to score a win for the team. We'll become just like them, that will get their vote. At what price I ask? At what price?

Ann is right. Hillary is not going to stop the war on Islamofascism. She will have her picture taken with some troops coming home from a pre planned downsizing and declare victory for the anti war crowd. She might get the chance to replace the two most liberal supreme court justices with what, the same. Other than that, she will hand out as many presents as possible to all the good boys and girls. McCain will do the same. So did GWB. So did his Dad. So would Huck. We need to keep a grip on the party much more than we need McCain in the white house.

Push for Brokered Convention
If Huckabee and Paul split remainder of delegates we can keep the nomination from McCain and his backers at fox. Do you want to forfeit the election before it even comes! Where's your fight! We all know McCain is unacceptable either get Romney back in the race or support Paul and Huckabee. Who's in charge of this party? The liberal rpublicans? It's great to see Rush and even Coulter in her unorthodox way getting our fight up!!! He hasn't won the nomination yet. He's like the Patriots. Paul and Huckabee are the Giants. Back someone true to conservatism. Neither Paul nor Huckabee can get enough delegates to win so not to worry about supporting peace or religion, but votes should never be thrown away because the liberal is "sure" to win. Forget the media, don't listen to them anymore their not your friend!

You Have to Make Political Lemonade
any way you can, despite what lemons the Moderates throw at us.

wiseone states, quoting Rush Limbaugh,

"The best hope for the country is an incompetent Democrat, preferably Obama, obstructed by a solid Republican minority in the Senate."

______________________________________________

Very wise statement! I agree with Rush and the wiseone 150%!!! Rush is an astutely wise political strategist - if only the GOP would hire him for strategy, we might be electing a REAL Conservative for a change, but it is nice to dream - pardon my indulgence.

Phil Byler-aka the Neutered One
Phil's comment:
"No, Coulter is not carrying a load. She went off the deep end, along with Malkin and Ingraham."

What's wrong Phillipe (Frenchman, perhaps?), you got a man-crush on Coulter, Malkin, & Ingraham 'cause they got bigger GONADS then you'll ever have?

What's with you and this anti-woman-in-authority bias? You got bad memories of your mama chastising you during potty training?

Phillipe: Just finish your potty business, wash your hands, and go to bed.....tomorrow will be a new opportunity!

Phil Bryer you never learn do you
Do I really need to correct you again. We need to up your medication, call me and we'll setup an appointment.

John McCain has no chance of winning. I and the rest of the REAL conservatives will not support him. He is a RINO and a liberal. He will do no better than Barack or Billary.

Every other GOP candidate is the same on the Iraq war so that issue is a mute point and not a reason to vote for someone.

the question is simple:

What has John done for conservatism today???

What has John done for conservatism today???

What has John done for conservatism today???

NOTHING!

if upland is right!
Add Lara to the Flying Fig Leaves Warning Net and the list of McWhores. Too bad, I had hopes.
Hope upland is wrong, saw part but not all her show.

I have stated elsewhere why, in order to keep their access, Oh? Really? guest shots, face time on Fox and Msnbc, and a-list party invites, the Pros will have to HAVE TO spread and shill for The McChurian Candidate. It will be Oh so plausible and rational, but it's still just a fig leaf for those who have dropped shorts to be McBeeches.
If the above Rush quote is right I have hopes he will hold out his virginity, likewise if Sean meant what he said in his opening monolog today.
BEck too, cause one of the McWhores was dissn him on the same list with the others today. Hope, maybe.

But if I had to bet, I'd say only A.(pox on both your houses) Coulter is going to keep her Integrity and Dignity Virginal--like I did today when I walked away and registered as an Independent!

The Establishment Party Machine (EPM) Bosses and the McChurian Candiate are going back to their Gilt Bird Cabin Country Clubs chorteling to their Frat Bros about how they "had" the poor dumb Conservative Girls----I wish them happy landings on their McBruised rumps.

big mick--charter member of Conservatives for Hillybama, somebody get going on the t-shirt and bumber sticker.

Coulter and the losers
As usual Ann C. calls it as it is,not to be at odds with the definition of what is,is! The disfunctioned Republican voters have given us McCain who will lose to Hillary or The "O" man. I remain chargined and appalled at this sad excuse for a Party! But,then those like myself who voted for Bush twice should have known it was the begining of the end for Conservative values! And why leave out the fleckless Republican Congress members?

Big Tit-11:16 post
Your comment, regarding Ann Coulter:

"She knows fifty is only three years away and the fanboys enthralled by her leggy appearances will soon drop her like a pair of false teeth."

Sounds like you're speaking from experience! Are you another one of those Libtard man-crush posters that has gonad-envy of Coulter, Malkin, and Ingraham? Yikes.....I'm outta here.....afraid I might catch something....

Don't Understand
I don't think the Repubs have come to terms with the reality that many of us are not part of the Republican party. We are conservatives. McCain is not. Therefore we won't vote for him.

I admire Ms. Coulter's stance. I understand it. We are loyal to conservatism, not Republicanism. Conservatives didn't choose to let a liberal run the country, the Dems and Repubs made that choice.

Now with three socialists being the only major candidates remaining, conservatives either don't vote or we choose the lib we think best serves our purposes of getting the country on the right path as quickly as possible.

Personally, I'm rooting for Obama. I can't think of anything we agree on, but he promises to be the most incompetent which should wake up the ignorant masses.

Ann Coulter Go Away
Ann needs to go. He whole career has been writing book after book saying the same things, "Liberals are bad, esp. the Clintons".
She's made millions and never hesitated in laughing at her own greed. To consider voting for Hillary is voting for socialism. Ann's lost it. I wish she would get lost also.
Here's a nice little poem my husband wrote that sums it up nicely.

A Writer Named Ann

There once was a writer named Ann,
Who made millions off this great land.
She wrote about libs, exposing their fibs,
We believed her and gave her a hand.
She now says she supports Hillary C.
Who is an avowed Socialisti.
I think, Ann, you should quickly go
And read the Commie Manifesto.
There you will find the Hillary kind
Of ideals she will impose and I mean presto!
You say you are a Christian which means Christ-like,
But your ego and greed just don't fit right.
Just face it. We've been had,
But don't feel too bad.
Start having some fun by giving her the shun.
Start burning her books and list her among crooks,
Who made you believe but all the while
Had her eyes on your wallets and checkbooks.

I'll nver vote for McCain, for he co-authored a bill that limits the ability of a person to make political speech, a direct violation of our consitution.

For the fellow who is upset that Bush's tax cuts favored the rich: was he equally upset when previosu tax laws favored the poor and middle class by SOAKING the rich at confiscatory rates?

Ann is brash and sometimes over-the-top. But she often says things that need saying, but no one is saying them.

With only three viable candidates for pres (Clinton, Obama, and McCain) I have ocme to the conclusion that Obama would be best for the country. McCain will move us left, and the R's in congress will not stand against him. Clinton would try to move us left, and the Clinton machine has its hands on the levers of power and can and would do things behind the scenes that would get their job done. But obama would likely be an ineffective president, especially if R's were to regain a majority or even a more subsatial minority. He is not so fully integrated into the power structure, so he could be easily handled.

In case anyone missed my meaning: none of them are GOOD for USA, just Obama would be less able to move us any farther left.

Be A Maverick! No Votes For McCain!

The Stupid Party

The RNC wants an amnesty candidate.

Don't vote for one.

Another amnesty will result in Democrat majorities for decades, or until they are supplanted by the La Raza Party, why doesn't the RNC know that? How stupid do you have to be to import voters for the opposition at the same time you alienate your own voters? Nominating any of the amnesty supporters is a losing proposition, we will not support them. If the GOP intends to surrender our sovereignty and abandon the rule of law, they will find in November 2008, that they still have their big money/cheap labor donors, but they do not have voters. GOP-RIP

JOHN MCCAIN NEEDS A HEARING AID

When I heard McCain's Hispanic Outreach guy was none other than Smiling Juan Hernandez, I knew John McCain has heard nothing we have had to say.

Smiling Juan Hernadez
We know who he is, we know his loyalties are to Mexico, we know he wants to erase our borders and immigration laws.

JOHN MCCAIN, YOU NEED A NEW HEARING AID

Smiling Juan Hernandez
In case you don't know him, he used to work for the Mexican govt., lately he has been shilling for "rights" for illegal aliens in this country. He has said he wants Mexicans to remain Mexicans even if they are living here. His loyalties are to Mexico, not U.S.

Questions for illegal alien apologists like John McCain:

Why does The National Council of the Race (la raza in spanish) and the Chamber of Commerce get to negotiate a "Comprehensive Shafting of The American Citizens" behind closed doors? Since when does an organization representing foreign nationals breaking our laws get to rewrite our immigration laws to suit the lawbreakers? Isn't this akin to allowing NAMBLA to rewrite our laws regarding child predators? Or allowing organized crime syndicates to rewrite racketeering, gambling, prostitution, and extortion laws?

We The People are being told by our representatives that we should sit down and shut up while they invite in the entire world. We The People should get some say in this matter. Another amnesty will set off a stampede like we have never seen before. There is not much time to save our country. All the money and power are on the side of shoving this amnesty down our throats. The RNC wants an amnesty candidate, don't vote for one.

No Border Security/No National Security

You simply CANNOT have national security if you will not defend your own borders or enforce your own laws. Foreign nationals numbering in the thousands are entering our country at will daily. John McCain has done and will do NOTHING to stop it. Don't believe me? Ask Juan Hernandez!

Ann
Ann is right. I am also with the big mick. Thank God there is someone around with intestinal fortitude. I find her blunt appraisal of the situation refreshing.

McCain will not preserve our national sovereignty. That is why he is backed by CFR. All the candidates are globalists willing to sell out the country for a mess of pottage.

It will take a miracle for it not to happen with the next presidency. No matter who is elected.

I am not voting for a Rep to do it and that includes the Huckster.

Welcome to your new (third world) country, the North American Union.

Phil
McCain wasn't the only Navy -- or Air Force -- pilot shot down in the North. You write as though he was...

You are right -- he survived 6 yrs under horrific conditions while other men died with lesser injuries. Thinking men could wonder how and why; there are ways to ensure one's survival in captivity, some of them neither honorable nor patriotic -- although understandable.

With 24 years active duty under my belt with another 15+ years federal service, I am quite familiar with McCain's service as well as several hundred more POWs just like him. You patronize all of us.

One final thought -- McCain had a lot to say about what he went through and he repeats it often. Those who could perhaps tell a different story did not survive, unlike Hanoi Kerry's bane -- the Swiftees.

None of that disparages McCain's duty -- it just allows thought and an open mind to maybe tarnish an overly polished reputation. Then again, maybe the above just reveals the jaundiced eye of one who has seen too much of that sort of thing.

Repercussions of McCain-Feingold
McCain-Feingold opened the way for the "Shadow Party", an excellent book by David Horowitz which gives the players behind the scenes like George Soros(its globalist, Uber-Socialist, multibillionaire, insanely paranoid, Wall Street icon and Chairman of the Board - a man so powerful that he has sunk the currency almost single-handedly of Germany, Britain, Czechoslovakia, and the US) and Harold Ickes(the former White House Clintonista and strongest man in the Democratic Party, who now is the acting CEO of this vastly illegal Leftwing Conspiracy known as the "Clinton Machine" or "Hillaryland")who have illegally coordinated behind the scenes the efforts of so many innumerable Democratic Party Ultra-leftwing 527's like MoveOn, Center for American Progress, The Media Fund, America Votes, ACT, the Open Society Institute, Campaign for a Progressive Future, the Carnegie Foundation, the Arc Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, ACORN, PLAN, and many others...

Clarification
Upon re-reading my last post, I possibly mis-inferred that I was a former POW when I said Phil patronized all of _us_. I was not a POW.

Repercussions of McCain-Feingold - Cont.
These guys are the ringmasters behind the vast amounts of money fueling the Democratic Party through 527's. They are precisely the reason why MoveOn said, "It is now our party; we own it." Soros's hand-picked favorite is Hillary Clinton. Her "moderate" act is just that - a perfectly coordinated effort to fool the public into electing her a la Saul Alinsky. Hillary is a disciple of Saul Alinsky, author of the 60's bestseller, "Rules for Radicals" in which he scolded 60's radicals for their offensive methods to accomplish their radicalism. Hillary is following her mentor precisely according to this book. Hillary's 1969 senior thesis at Wellesley was a 75-page salute to Alinsky. How ironic is it that McCain has opened the door to his own demise? By eliminating large soft-money contributions, McCain-Feingold opened the door to multibillionaires like Soros and many other Leftwing Uberlib CEO's and Hollywood loons to dump vast quantities of cash into untracked not-for-profit 527's.

So, Norm, what's your point?

"So do I admire McCain? Yes. Could I vote for him? No. Would I be upset if he were elected? Plenty."

You agree with us (possibly for different reasons, however).

yes you may be right phill
Getting Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama elected because you have a hissy fit over the fact the voters chose differently for the Republican nominee than what they said they wanted is really immature and stupid."

Then again who'll wind up hissying the most when those conservatives who feel they've been poked a few too many times in the eye make their choice (you know the same right made in the primary by moderates, independents, and those that so abundently clearly label the conservitive base as the far nut wing of the republican party) make their choice in the General for someone other than McCain.

Who knows maybe McCain's appeal is enough that he dosent need the base, we'll see.

Ann Coulter
is a rich individual who makes money by mocking others.

Only in America you can prosper with such profession.

Didn't need to read past JD'S son
Every comment past his couldn't possibly have said anything even remotely as relevant or insightful.

He is exactly right. Moral cowardice is a plague and the men of the GOP have it in spades and this is the reason for their being relegated to irrelevancy.

If the men of the GOP

oh...
never mind the rest. You get the point.

great endorsement
If Ann "Bacteria" Culture wants to endorse Hillary over McCain, then McCain should welcome the endorsement for the kiss of death it is. Comedians play best to certain audiences, and the audiences of mean-spirited political bigots, hacks, and has-beens keep employing her. Without willing ears to hear her stupidity, it would be like a tree falling in the woods---truly insignificant and picayune. The act is getting old---she is Don Rickles with breasts, no brain, and bad joke writers. (my apologies to Don Rickles)

Byler is Out of His Drunken Stupor Again
Every now and then Phil escapes his coma and begins his semi-comatose writing with confused logic.

So McCain is fiscally conservative because he saves $millions in pork and military spending but secretly authors the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Bill which would add $3 Trillion in taxes to aid illegal invaiders?

McCain's hero military record includes graduating 5th from the bottom of his class while racking up the most points for insubordination; spending almost 6 years in prison; wrecking 5 planes...all American planes.

A self-proclaimed womanizer and cheater who took advantage of women.

A dangerous, mentally unstable punk who is prone to obscenity laced temper tantrums

If these are the McCain "qualities" that you endorse, then you should insist that McCain's running mate have the same "qualities", including lack of loyalty.

It's difficult to match every one of McCains "achievements' but barring bottom of class and blowing up planes, the American who most closely matches McCain and by Byler's logic should be V.P. is Charles Manson.

I actually watched
Ann Coulter's speech and Q & A at CPAC, unlike many here apparently.
Amanda Carpenter's column is plain odd, with Coulter's quotes not in any kind of order and contextually flimsy.
Ann was excellent. She made her points absurdly---like she often does--and unapologetically. The woman has balls and I love it!

mccain
i dont like mccain either, you can tell a tree by the fruit that grows on it but i find him a lot bettter than either hillary or obama,we really dont have too much to choose from

To Cold Hard Truth re 10:27 PM Post
To you and a number of others who mistakenly think that you are clever, let me explain something to you about this very American guy. My older son is a U.S. Army First Lieutenant (with Ranger tab) who until last October served as an infantry platoon leader for 15 months in Iraq; for his service, he earned a Bronze Star and an Army Commendation Medal for Valor for actions under fire. My younger son will be commissioned a U.S. Marines Second Lieutenant in May having already passed officer training at Quantico. (I cannot help but note and appreciate that John McCain’s sons are continuing his family tradition of military service to the nation.) When I consider candidates, I think first about who will be Commander in Chief. There is no question but that McCain is heads above everyone else.

In addition to his own military background, he has 26 years in Congress specializing in military matters and foreign policy, and he showed his stuff with respect to Iraq, which General Petraeus has called the central battlefront in the war with radical Islamic extremists. What conservatives should remember about the past couple of years is that John McCain constantly visited the troops in Iraq and was right all along about the strategy to be employed there, first in criticizing the prior light footprint strategy as leaving too few boots on the ground and then in vocally supporting thte surge and General Petraeus at a time the Democrats were declaring defeat and most Republicans were either looking for a way out or looking at their feet.

Fittingly, John McCain has the endorsements of, among others, former Secretaries of State George Schultz, Henry Kissinger, Lawrence Eagleburger and Alexander Haig, former Navy Secretaries John Lehman and William Ball, General Norman Schwartzkof, former national security officials Bud MacFarlane, James Woolsey, Tom Kean, Tom Ridge and Robert Inman.

Coulter jumped the shark; you anti-McCain people are stupid wusses.

To BillinOrlando re Saturday6:30 AM Post
Judging from the illogic in your Saturday 6:30 AM post, it is you who suffer from druken stupors. I take the insults that have been hurled at me in this thread as reflecting that I am writing very logiocally and reaching conclusions that are not ones that the politically immature and stupid on this site wish to accept.

Tax cutrs for anyone
raises revenue, always: Coolidge, JFK, Reagan, Bush II, and raising taxes often limits revenue as people avoid doing what the tax is on.

Tax cuts always affect the rich because the PAY MORE TAXES PROPORTIONATELY THAN THE REST.

The poor, under $50,000 (%50,000!!!) for a family of four, have more tax credits than they have direct taxes.

AND what is wrong with people who make money keepihng their own earnings?

I am not rich and am on Soc. sec. and a pension and I sill pay taxes--I even pay QUARTERLY taxes!!

If I never paid another tax on anything for the rest of my life, I would die with a smile on my face.

As to Coulter, not voting for McCain or anyone she doesn't think is "pure" enough is like the little kid taking his marbles and going home.

I would vote for Ron Paul or Huckabee or any of them over whatever Dem. they run.

Dems. mean not only more taxes and spending but also the entire liberal-whacko agenda of trans-genedered civil rights to compensatory wages for "comparable" work (a bill is in the House for the latter right now), military humiliation in the Middle East and elsewhere, insecurity domestically, amnesty for all, more liberal idiots on the Sup. Court, and class and race warfare for the entire administration.

ANY Rep. would be better than the above.

my 2 cents
If ann coulter actually does campaign for hillary clinton or barack obama it will be hilarious - starting with the reaction from the reluctant endorsee.

Ms. Coulter - you have long since passed the point where you are considered a serious commentator on the national and international scene - you have reached the rightwingnutjob stage and once you get there there is no turning back. The next stage is pathetic and you seem to be on course for that stage.

Phil Byler ----------
McCain is on the membership list of the Council on Foreign Relations - with a comment - "Vietnam War POW and Red Collaborator." Please explain the words "Red Collaborator."

Apology to Byler
You're not a drunk; you're sharp as a tack.

Unfortunately you could never pass the swearing in oath of do you promise to tell the WHOLE truth and nothing but...

As a McCain staffer you constantly repeat McCains good points and there are many. Unfortunately you ignore or spin his bad points which vastly outnumber the good.

But then you're paid to preach evil, aren't you?

2 more cents
to all of those who are threatening to campaign for the dem candidate or withhold their vote for McCain because he does not have the ideological purity for you so you are going to throw a snit - with a nominee like McCain we have a real chance of retaining the White House. Would you be satisfied if we wind up with Hillary Clinton behind the desk in the Oval Office, Bill Clinton as first laddie, Barack Obama as VP and Nancy Pelosi two breaths aaway from the Oval Office because you were not satisfied with John McCain and decided (in your morally superior way) that you HAVE to do what you will do?

I myself am satisfied with our nominee and I am looking forward to enjoying the spectacle of dems tearing at each other. Again.

Proposal - (Just a proposal) - On election day Tuesday November 4 hold your nose and cast your vote for John McCain. Please remember that every vote counts and that the vast majority of people who vote on election day don't care about John McCain's ideological impuritities as passionately as you do but THEIR VOTES COUNT FOR JUST AS MUCH AS YOURS DO.

Let's NOT reap what some are sowing!!!!!
I am sick to death of the endless refrain "Let them have four years of HillBama and they'll welcome us back with open arms. All they have to see is how bad it can get." HORSE HOCKEY!! The GOP "true believers" sat out the 2006 elections and let the DumboCrats sail in and ASSUME they had a mandate.

The mandate they assumed was to obstruct the President, dangerously meddle with Iraq, investigate Republicans and surrender U.S. supremacy in the world. NOBODY outside of the New Media has been chronicling this. We have a HARDCORE SOCIALIST worth over $55 MILLION herself who wants to turn this country into a slightly less repressive version of Cuba as Speaker.

The only way to make this work is to put on your gas mask, take your Dramamine, clip a clothespin on your schnozz and vote for the GOP candidate AND every single GOP candidate for the House and Senate. If we can get either or (God willing) both Houses behind us McShamnesty can bellow all he wants about "partisanship" but if he wants to have ANYTHING happen on his watch he'll HAVE to listen to us. He'll feel the veto override whip a few times and be a good boy. Mavericks are wild horses that have been tamed. Time to BREAK this one in.

by Buffalo Springfield

there's something I happened to hear
what it is ain't very clear
there's a blonde with a mic on the air
telling me the media's unfair

I think it's time she stopped
whining
what's that sound
just Ann's mouth going out of bounds

battle lines are being drawn
repubbies are right, everyone else is wrong
some people speaking their minds
getting so much resistance from this clown

why don't she grab a bite to eat
she's seeing terrorists on the street
saying prayers and carrying Qurans
she mostly says let's invade their lands

paranoias' struck deep
into her mind it has creeped
it happens when you're so partisan
start making sense and this woman will go insane

I think it's time she stopped
crying
what's that sound
just Ann's mouth going out of bounds

Baggage
However one views McCain, he is certainly not a unifier, and his often tactless and angry statements over the years have offended many. People may forgive, but they never forget what they forgave. Conservatives, in the end, may vote for McCain, but they will never be enthusiastic about him. Much of the base, it should be obvious, is simply in shock at what has happened. He did not have to insult evangelicals, did not have to ignore the base and support anmesty - and then insult it when they disagreed, did not have to repeatedly state that he doesn't know much about the economy - the number 1 issue this year, did not have to say that he didn't favor over-turning Roe V. Wade, and did not have to change that statement to the more recent one, in which he said that it would be ok if it happened - hardly a ringing endorsement. McCain is the nominee, but no GOP candidate has won the general without the enthusiastic support of the base - and McCain will not get that. He has more baggage than anyone but Clinton - and that's saying quite a bit.

Coutler rationalizes and justifies
This is just so typical of Ann Coulter. She says something foolish and then invests herself in defending her position. OK - people do that - but what I cannot figure is why anyone would continue listening to her.
Ohg
http://thefiresidepost.com/2008/02/01/ann-coulter-mccain-ha nnity-clinton/

Coulter did what she does best...

She stirred up a lot of discussion and debate!!!!

This is just the short list of what we'll have if a dem is elected:

1. SOCIALIZED health care.
(And don't kid yourself, "Universal health care" is nothing more than a diversion. It's SOCIALIZED health care.)

2. Premature withdrawal from the ME.
(And it's only a matter of time.. immediately if Obama is elected, and w/in a year if HELLary is elected.)

3. HIGH taxes.

4. FAIRNESS Doctrine.

5. Open borders.

Not a great list, is it? And I will not be part of actively putting a dem in the WH.

I will go toe to toe with anyone who challenges McCain's military record, but that does not necessarily make presidential material.

McCain's alliance with Juan Hernandez was the last straw. I cannot in all good conscience cast my vote for McCain.

I'm writing in Romney!

It doesn't matter how Uncle Max Votes
McCain has already done more to harm this nation than Hillary and Obama combined. Either the Clinton machine or Obama charisma will bury McCain.

Hillary will PROBABLY raise taxes but McCain has ALREADY WRITTEN legislation to increase taxes by $3 Trillion to give to illegals.

Hillary MAY restrict liberties but McCain has ALREADY restricted free speach and twice overwritten the Bill Of Rights.

After his Obama endorsement Hillary WON'T refer to Kennedy but McCain HAS ALREADY co-sponsered the McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Bill.

It doesn't matter how you vote for president because McCain deserves to lose and Republicans who slept through the primaries deserve the horror that will follow.

It is important, however, to vote for a strong, united Congress that will fight to block the Dem. president. Vote to get rid of the RINOS and encourage others to do the same.

They're not up in this cycle but it will be important to get rid of RINO rats like the formerly popular FL Gov. Charlie Crist and Senator Mel (rhymes with Fidel)Martinez R-FL. Both are amnesty p1mps who gave last minute McCain endorsements and tipped the FL primary to McCain. These two sent American history toward the toilet. Get rid of them!

REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY
Ms.Coulter is a 40 something,white woman,married to herself,and NO children.But yet she is a conservative.Someone that sane people listen to.GO FIGURE!!!Who will verify,her vote for Mrs.Clinton?PSYCHE...

Don't count on GOPs opposing Klinton
I agree, McCain is bad news. But no point whinging now. GOP supporters should have voted for the candidate they wanted, not the one they thought was most electable. And they should have restricted the primaries to registered Republicans, and allowed preferential voting not the asinine first-past-the-post system that split the conservative vote.

Ann thinks that Republicans are more likely to know to oppose Heilary than McCain. Don't count on it. They didn't oppose Wilhelm's court picks, even the feminazi ACLU harridan Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

Conservatives need to work much harder on the Republican Primaries. Get rid of RINOs! No more of the crap where even Santorum backed up RINO Specter against a real Republican, and look where Santorum ended up for this betrayal. And the Republican officials should never have backed up über-RINO Chaffee against a real Republican either. And hold the current Republican congressmen accountable for their bloated pork-barrelling.

Regardless of who the next president is, there need to be some real Republicans standing for conservative principles.

Can the Ann...

How can anyone stomach a "lady" who talks like a truck-driver? I don't care what side of the fence she claims to be on... just keep her off mine.

I'm disheartened that so-called Conservatives have lowered themselves to the likes of trash-talking people like Coulter. Our parents would have never bought a book from a nobody like Ann.

Yup. The liberals have turned this country into gutter-talking, sewage-accepting ninnies. Republicans included.

McCain
Is a liberal in the true sense of the word - look at his past record. Regarding his amnesty bill, which is probably the worst bill, and despite Bush's agreeing with it - did any of you stop and think what is behind Bush fighting terrorism abroad - but not in this country? It has been proven that terrorists have crossed our southern border. Why are we spending money to send our military to Iraq and leave our borders open? Why is Bush (and McCain) pushing the NAU - which is another word for one world government? How many of you know that your taxpayer dollars have supported illegal immigrants to the tune of over 300 billion dollars? (That is if you pay taxes and are not on the dole.) Corportions because of political pandering are allowed to hire cheap labor while 9 million American citizens lost their jobs...McCain/Feingold cut off part of your free speech. Look at the man's record - he is not a conservative. WHAT WE ALL need is a brokered convention - hopefully the Huckster and Dr. Ron Paul (who probably has the best interest at heart for all Americans) can get enough votes to get the brokered convention. We need to push for that. Maybe that way we can get Fred, Romney or even Newt...anyone at this point is better than the three who are currently running. Any one of them, Billary, Osama/Obama or McCain will take this country, your pocketbook and your children's future a place where you never want to go. Washington State

Joe T and McCain-Feingold
Joe T writes "I'll nver vote for McCain, for he co-authored a bill that limits the ability of a person to make political speech, a direct violation of our consitution."

McCain-Feingold also gives any sitting Senator a distinct financial advantage by allowing them to use their Senatorial war chest in their presidential campaign. The only question is whether or not one is stupid enough to think this was sheer coincidence....
Hillary, Obama, Edwards (voted yes while a Senator), Dodd, Biden, Bayh, Daschle, Thompson (he voted yes during his term), Allen, and McCain. Even Fiengold thought of entering the race for POTUS.....

Did anyone vote no should be your next question. Brownback, Hagel and Santorum all voted no.... and now we have a choice of voting for one of three Senators who all voted for that distinct advantage over any non-Senatorial candidate.

Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter is a mean-spirited, hate-monger unworthy of the pages of townhall.com or conservative Republicanism. She is the Michael Moore of conservatives and should be shunned/condemned, not given platforms to drag our movement through the mud.

I'm going out today and
replenish/restock my roll-your-own ammo supplies.

It will come in handy in the not-too-distant future when guns/ammo are outlawed. Houses have a million-plus hiding places even against high-tech.

Paranoid, you say? Perhaps, but just because one believes he is being persecuted doesn't mean he isn't. Seen any good downtown surveillance cameras lately? Any sizeable city -- your choice.

For Phil -- Hm-m-m. You get ALL of your info secondhand, huh? How about YOUR military record since you are so het up over McClaim's?

Coulter's hysteria is over-the-top
Too much is, simply, too much. I once enjoyed Ann's comments. Now she is so over the top and hysterical she sounds like a candidate for psychiatric treatment. I am going to turn her off and tune her out until she locates some sanity. Someone get help for her.

I'll go toe to toe with McCain's military record.

McCain spent almost six years as a POW. I spent six years training troops for Nam as NCOIC of testing and evaluation at a division HHC. While McCain's time was definitly tougher then mine, we both did our duty but neither experience qualified either to be president.

It was McCain's military time before and after the POW that disqualifies him from becoming president.

Before: He was a foul-mouthed punk who was often in fights and led his Navy class in demerits, most for insubordination. Without the influence of his Admiral(s) father and grandfather he would have washed out before he graduated 5th from the bottom of his class.

After: With rehab and family influence, he became a squad commander and trained hundreds (I trained thousands). In the process, he wrecked 5 planes. Then, again through family influence, he became a political poster boy. During the whole time of travel and POW his wife, crippled in an auto accident, raised their kids while he repeatedly cheated on her. He made his political connections, dumped his wife, married to money the month following his divorce, dumped the Navy and was backed for Congress by corrupt parties who were convicted of bank fraud. McCain was reprimanded by Congress for those connections.

His military record alone will allow the Dem. machine to grind him to dust, yet Republicans slept through the primaries and allowed his "I'm a POW" crap to overshadow the rest.

What a shame.

strange, unsatisfying electoral process
Our electoral process is discomfiting and limiting; if you cannot raise a lot of $, you cannot prevail. Most listen too much to prevailing wisdom: the "major candidates." Oddly, we are down to 3 sitting senators-- we have elected only 2 EVER; we normally send someone from "outside Washington." Though many initially ran as Rep., only a few had a chance in our system. What initially derailed McAmnesty WAS amnesty, yet he ends up the nominee! Many who voted for him in a divided field cited "electability" because that's what they HEARD on TV. Thus, in their zeal to stop Shrillary, they chose a guy whose values they did not like (after they put lipstick on that pig)! WHY?!

Because he SAID he would build the wall, and artfully spooked them with fears of terrorism... that is an disingenuous false promise and fear of nothing really to fear. The REAL threat to America is flooding across the damm border, and Amnesty Juan WELCOMES THEM! Like Presidente Jorge Bush, he made a faustian deal for Hispanic support, but half of the LEGAL Hispanics voted for tough new sanctions AGAINST ILLEGALS in Az.! Guess what-- those tough new laws took effect Jan. 1, and ILLEGALS are packing up and going back to Mexico! The message we send to ILLEGALS is CRITICAL! Today's modern service economy NEEDS EDUCATED, skilled LEGAL immigrants, NOT the tsunami of welfare-seekers-in-waiting from the south. They permeate social pathologies like a cancer, inexorably destroying the host. The left will make them voters long B4 they are citizens, and we will morph ineluctably into a monster entitlement welfare state and third world barrio; they will bring their myriad relatives in, and make us precisely what they have tried to flee from.

BillInOrlando...you starting a Toe fight
With Anne? :)
I hate to be put in the position of defending JM
But...
On his Service record...your comments not withstanding...
He did serve...He did put his life on the line...He did sacrifice.
Most Americans respect that...as they should.
It is only among those that have served equally..
That your comments are indeed a shame! :)

Ann Carries the Load
Hanoi Ann does carry a load. However, it is generally the type of load you don't want deposited in your yard.

Too bad Ann has shot herself in the foot
No one can see this rage by Ann as credable...no one believes that Hillary is more conservative than McCain...this is a very immature response to a manageable situation and Ann knows it, but yet goes off the deep end and hurts herself tremendously...how can anyone take her seriously in the future---her credability is shot!! And it hurts the conservative movement--people say if she is a conservative, I want no part of it...

Paul...Anne Knows that...
It is YOUR foot under HERS! HAHHA
The round takes out you too!...
Small sacrifice for the greater good! :)

Ann Coulter is making a big mistake
So John McCain isn't ideologically pure, but no other candidate is either, but McCain has integrity and honesty, characteristics I have yet to see in any other candidate either.
Ann Coulter is making herself look like a complete fool with her rants in favor of the Clinton's and her silly partisan swipes at McCain.

Glad I'm Not Alone
Must admit I'm happy to read myself and my husband are not alone on our feelings toward the greedy, chino(christian in name only), insane at this point, Ann.
My wish is that the networks stop showing her. I will leave the room everytime. I am glad I never bought any of her books, which were basically all the same anyway. Way to go Ann, go to the other side and stay there. Us conservatives don't want you. You are an embarassment and you are the only one laughing at your jokes. Roll your eyes all you want because most of us won't be watching. So your pockets are loaded. You should leave now.

beniyyar..So you like Arrogance...
A sense of entitlement..

You need to read more about Amnesty John! Do you REALLY believe that he now favors cracking down on ILLEGALS who are despoiling America?! He admits he knows little about economic matters, and you want HIM to take over for Presidente Jorge as we slide into recession? Been there, done that with a disingenuous open border RINO! Integrity? How 'bout how he aggrandized himself in politics after unceremoniously dumping his crippled wife by marrying a rich younger hottee? How 'bout having to pull strings to save his poor performance military career? Does he have the candle power (bottom of his class) and temperament (notorious for tempestuous imbroglios-- against Republicans!) we might want in a POTUS? No, we are left with a Hobson's Choice-- an artful, turncoat RINO and two other libs.

mccain is not smart enough!
Sorry Phil and the McCainiacs.

McCain is not smart enough to decide what to do. Sure he is tough, but has not underlying core priciples to fall back on.

He rationalized away the 1st amendment in favor of saving the incumbents with his unconstitutional McCain-Feingold. Either his is too dumb to see that or he is too corrupt. Either way, it does not matter.

McCain is staunchly pro-life. HA! good one.
He has pushed for embyonic research! so much for the staunch part.

McCain has all of the integrity of a Benedict Arnold. Both served. Of course, Arnold was a much better soldier than McCain. McCain will ally with the most far left in the democrat party; Kennedy, Feingold, Liebermann

Who sponsored legislation to improve Mexican health care? It was Obama ... oops no, that was that staunch conservative John McCain. sorry ...
*******
the Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act of 2005 contained a provision giving insurance companies the right to help devise a plan for extending US health care to Mexico (Sec. 1004. BINATIONAL PUBLIC HEALTH INFRASTRUCTURE AND HEALTH INSURANCE).
******

You can't just put an "R" next to a socialist and expect conservatives to flock to their nominee.

You want someone who is conservative? The only one left is Ron Paul. Oh he won't win, but neither will McCain. With is across the aisle tendencies, he may choose Hillary or Obama as a running mate. Oh, don't you just love those mavericks!

Be a maverick! - VOTE OBAMA!

time to make lemonade...
...and lemonade can be quite tasty.

McCain was alway my last choice. I would even have preferred Rudy. I much preferred Romney and Huckabee (no, I don't want Huck for VP). But we're stuck with McCain. And it may not be all bad. Playing the odds, McCain will be much different that HRC or BHO. So I think Coulter is way off base, if she is really serious. I don't think her comedy is helping set a constructive tone to shape relations with McCain.

I have never believed that McCain was a liberal. I think even his worst positions have proceeded from a poorly applied conservative principle. McCain does not suffer from liberalism. He is just not able to see the shortcomings and likely consequences of his proposals. He is not cut out for "the most deliberative body in the world". He is disposed to action, not deliberation. He is a very bad deal-maker.

However, with him out of the Senate, perhaps he will make less mischief as we try to obstruct the democrat's foolishness (or his own). But he has a solid record on fiscal restraint. As POTUS, I have no doubt that he would wield the veto pen mightily, something that was missing in GWB until recently. Conservatives thwarted some of GWB's folly, they can thwart McCain's.

I would have preferred Romney, but POTUS may be the safest place for McCain. But can he get elected?

Ann…

How dare you exercise your right of free speech. This is the new America. You cannot speak unless you toe the party line. Is there really only one party under two names?

About Ann
Ever since I started posting on TH I have been bashed for saying the exact same things about Coulter that most of you are saying now.

Coulter hasn't suddenly started creating controversey for cash.. this has always been her business, it didn't start last week.

Coulter is upset because McCain's nomination means that the conservative wing of the Republican party is going down that long trail of history into the sunset, and with it, her cash cow.

It was conservative who gave us George (I can see the love in his eyes) Bush - who is going to listen to anybody from this faction from now on?

Right wing ideology, and their portrayal of anybody who is not Christian, hetero, married, white, virginal, and afraid of Harry Potter is in it's death throes. Along with it, all the loud, sanctimonious radio jockeys who used it to pay for their ranches in Montana.

calm.Touj...Actually..It means...
quite the opposite... :)

calm.touj
"McCain's nomination means that the conservative wing of the Republican party is going down that long trail of history into the sunset."

That's what liberals said about us fifteen years ago.

Survive
Us far left whacky, nut job liberals that loathe huge budget deficits, that, against all US values, believe in really stupid things like a clean environment, affordable health care coverage that is not mercilessly gouging the customers, that believe our companies should not be able to eavesdrop on us, that believe in fighting wars that we can win (something strange in American policy)and that we do not have to borrow from other nations to pay for, also hope that Coulter will simply go away. The sooner people ignore her, the better. We ought to start suing her for libel, taking away her winnings from suckers that keep buying her books. Once she loses her fortune, that will humble her.

Fortunately, conservatism is in decline, due to its own filthy greed and irrelevance, both of which it created. Can we survive it? That's the next question.

BillInOrlando @11:03 AM: Oh pa-lease!

GROW UP!!!!

That may all be true, but I'm pretty sure that none of what you referred to is enough to disqualify anyone from being pres.

Just try to stick to the FACTS at hand, please.

I won't vote for him because I don't consider him a Conservative. I don't trust that he'll secure the borders, and I believe that for McCain this IS about him...

Funny though, you go after McCain having spent five years as a POW... but what was your take on kerry's picture hanging in the No. Vietnam War Memorial????

Thanks, Amanda!
Thank you for sharing some of Ms. Coulter's remarks.

It shows the sad state of the Conservative movement when we won't allow open discussion unless it is 'politically correct'! Shame on you, CPAC!

Bill

Liberals have short, convenient memories
They can't even remember the boasts and predictions they made before & after the last election.

Has anyone noticed the great changes that came to be? ;-)

BE SURE TO VOTE!
Make sure you vote for Conservative Senators & Congressmen.
Only McCain is responsible for McCain's betrayal of the Republican Party.

If Progressives were to gain a Super Majority they could do harm to America that may never be undone and Liberals are too short sighted to see they would loose the same Freedoms as we would!

Only Honorable Men need apply......
I pray that God is raising up honorable men to fight for this nation which He so richly blessed, because there are none at the top.

Just like in the churches, it's the women who fight to keep the lights on. The men can't be bothered. They're too busy getting rich and downloading porn.

Those, like Ann, who speak the truth have always been hated. She has to shock because you all are so morally corrupt you have lost your ability to "hear"- I recall Jesus commenting on a similar situation in His day.

The first time Bush ran I wanted to vote for Alan Keyes but he wasn't on the ballot.

This time I'm voting for Alan Keyes whether he's on the ballot or not.

Say what you will but I answer to God and God alone.

Moral principled conservatives
I am a Republican of 45 years - longer than the "conservative movement" I keep reading the "principled" conservative statements and it has become very clear that even Lincoln wouldn't have been conservative enough for you. In fact, nobody is - you haven't backed anyone; only complained about everyone and, now, the Republican nominee. I am a Republican. I will vote Republican. Either you are a Republican or your not. It is just that simple.

Anne.......BillInOrlando is right.
McCain was a habitual screwup in the Navy.
That idiot even managed to launch a missile into a row of parked planes while he was still parked on the deck of his own carrier!
McCain was just as incompetent in the Navy as he is as a Senator!

Other POWs had a much harder time than McCain.
McCain received special VIP treatment as a POW and had little sympathy for those he left behind.

MyOpine...OK...that is talk for...

MyOpine
With all the boasting and fearless predictions by some of the trolls, your short memory statement was on my mind recently. I was going to write down some of the quotes for use in a year or two. With the way things are going, even the most careful thoughtful prediction is liable to look silly in a few months. Nevertheless, predictions of Nirvana, providing only that their candidate get elected, abound. Who is kidding whom? The s##tstorm heading our way is powered by demographics and foolish past decisions and would be likely to overwhelm the most selfless, dedicated and able statesman ever to grace the WH. The current list of never were, never will be, light weight do nothings don't have chance. If whoever gets in can even break even by 2012, i'll vote for re-election, whoever it is. The voters and the president against the jihadis, deficit spending, illegal aliens, the shaky economy, deteriorating infrastructure, foreign competition ......personally, i think we're gonna get creamed.

MyOpine: Ya know I luv ya, but this is

totally irrelavant...

And, there are accounts by other POWs who say that he did not get special treatment.. as well as the fact that he did NOT come home when he had the chance because of his father's rank, etc.

I'll agree with incompetence as a Senator (along with a lot of others) which is far more relavent to him being pres. or not.

I just won't take part in denigrating a POW.

Capt. Wobbie of K Mart
Gee Wobbie, you sure morphed back into a Progressive fast!

Or are you still a Conservative and just pretending to be a dumb Progressive?

You failed to answer my questions about the flags.
You get an F- on that test.
Gee Capt. Wobbie, don't you know anything about ships?
And you being a Navy Captain and a combat pilot who does not know Ordinance Color Codes and a test pilot who does not know how to recover from a stall, etc.

You get an F- every time someone gives you a quiz.
Have you EVER strode the deck of a Warship?

Savage99
The National scene looks bad but without a Super Majority they can do little damage other than padding our Courts with Liberal Judges.
There should be some way for the Legislative branch of Government to tell our Judges to stop making up their own laws to satisfy their own personal whims.

Bush's Affirmative Action Appointment of that do nothing Gonzales caused a vacuum in Federal Enforcement.
"Sanctuary City"? Gonzales let every little tin horn Mayor defy Federal Immigration Laws!
That Bloomberg character belongs in Levenworth for Firearms violations!

Things like this give hope though!

Anne
McCain on his own merits, HAS NO MERITS!
He has spent his entire life coasting on the family name.

That family name did get him special treatment as a POW, just as it has gotten him special treatment for every other part of his life.
(And the RCO of that POW camp confirms special treatment.)
McCain is an old man in years but he is STILL A SPOILED BRAT in character!
(And he still throws childish temper tantrums!)

McCain has NEVER had to face the consequences of his own actions.

Comment
Reading over these posts, I guess the following definitions would be correct:

Military Hero: Ex-serviceman with whose politics you agree.

Military Screw-up: Ex-serviceman with whose politics you disagree.

Last night I saw some Republican Congressman praising John Kerry for his military heroisim---because Kerry is now working with him on a VA benefits package. This would be the same John Kerry who in 2004 was called a traitor by Republicans because he opposed George W Bush, then believed by Republicans to be The Savior. My, how times do change. Kerry's opposition to the Vietnam War has not changed, but now that they need him and he's not in their way, Kerry is suddenly OK by the Republicans.

McCain a screw-up in the Navy ?

I voted for Bush not knowing where he was during Vietnam. John McCain surely deserves a break here.

If anyone spent time in the Military, they'd realize that screwing-up is what we did best.

Most of us spent 4 years on the edge of a Courts Martial :)

Good Times.

Neither of those Affirmative Action candidates have enough executive experience to run a Lemonade Stand.
Both have big lumps of dirt under their carpets and closets full of skeletons.
This General Election is going to be like a daytime TV Soap series!

Some good points--
Yes, I think that Annie has some good points and I will add my dream team for us consevatives..
Hunter for Prez., Tancredo for VP, Sheriff Joe Arpaio for Homeland security, Senator J. Rohrbacher for Speaker of the House, Senator Jeff Sessions for head of the Senate, and Lou Dobbs for chief advisor and cabinet member along with Michelle and the other conservatives who care about our borders, ports, and the outsourcing of jobs, plus much better pay and equipment for our military along with good paying jobs and rehab for our returning military.
I can only wish...

Mahatma-mama
Mahatma-mama, you dare to compare self-righteous, vindictive, hate-filled Ann Coulter to the Lord Jesus Christ?

Lilly
I think you're correct.

God help General David Patraeus should he run for office & the conservatives decide they don't like his politics. Of course, he'll be swift-boated.

A note on McCain: A large amount of the animosity going McCain's way has less to do with his politics & more to do with his personality, his personal STYLE.

McCain routinely shows contempt for conservatives (especially the social cons who John & many others feel have hijacked the republican party). With the exception of the war, John is the epitome of a political moderate. He's been doing what he's doing for three decades. He knows how to maneuver the halls of Congress. He's good friends with Pelosi & Ted Kennedy & Russ Feingold & Barney Frank & Joe Lieberman & a lot of cons can't stomach that.

Conservatives are divisive: divisive with the republican party; with the country as a whole. Especially the socially conservative who tend to place the Bible over the Constitution. They do not like to see "bi-partisanship" or compromise or extending hands across the aisle which they view as defeat. But the art of politics is all ABOUT compromise, give & take, appeasing the needs of the TOTAL electorate, not just a constituency.

will ...please don't even try to tell us
That you are not swayed by personal style! and if
Petraus is swift boated it will be by the Liberals.
You are correct about McCain...
but NOT about politics....
It is about survival of our way of life...
join the fight...unless Iranian justice is...
OK by you...do you really need a link will? :)

will
"Conservatives are divisive: divisive with the republican party; with the country as a whole."

In the liberal lexicon, "divisive" generally means "anyone who disagrees with liberals."

will
Compromise?
What have Progressives ever compromised on?
A Salami tactic is not compromise.

What have Progressives given to Conservatives in exchange for compromise?
The Progressive idea of compromise is; You give me half of everything you own and you can keep the other half till I come for half of that next week!

MyOpine
"The Progressive idea of compromise is; You give me half of everything you own and you can keep the other half till I come for half of that next week!"

Great point! Liberals are interested in "unity" and "tolerance" as long as they get to call the shots. Anyone who disagrees with them is labeled as "divisive." Like Ronald Reagan said, "Liberals will defend to the death your right to agree with them."

Ann Coulter - Another Empty Suit
Ann has turned politics into religious ferver. She speaks of the presidency as if we are electing our Pope. Good grief!

Ann may be ready to tie a plastic bag over her head and hope for a ride on the comet to heaven over this election, but I see it as simply politcal gain or loss.

As long as the dial is right of center, my life will be incrementally better. This is not a religious momement. It is politics and you pick the side that improves your lot. If Ann truly thinks Democrats will do better at improving her lot over Republicans, then, by definition, she is a Democrat. Why is she wasting our time? .... Just another empty suit looking for attention.

will...

McCain is a hard-head... it'll serve us well.

I'll give Reid and Pelosi about 3 weeks before they stick their fingers in McCain's eyes. They cannot help themselves.

After that, it will be 4 straight years of hard-head John vetoing everything they put on his desk.

Gridlock vs. Socialism. I'll take it.

Coulter as a ding bat
Ann Coulter is Rush in drag.
She will say anything to sell anything. As long as the money is up front; ethics, values, integrity do not exist.

Not
Jackie writes "you are either a Republican or you are not". He is correct.

I suspect that many conservatives are like me. We've voted Repub because they promoted conservative principles, but we have never considered ourselves Republicans.

I could care less if McCain calls himself a Republican. Since he received their nomination, he is a Republican. On the other hand, he is not conservative as I know it. I am conservative, so I won't vote for him.

This isn't really complicated. I read a lot of anger on here about those of us opposing McCain, but opposing McCain is as easy as opposing any liberal. His core philosophy is dangerous to the country and my children's future. I won't vote for him.

Rage on, it will have no impact. If Repubs should decide to run a candidate in the future who is conservative, I'll vote for him/her. Same with the Dems. You choose, then I get to choose.

jetpilot - A Public School Prodigy
jetpilot offers, "Tax cuts ONLY for RICH during war with a $10 trillion deficit is good? Yea those RICH people are so much smarter and do magical things with more money, money they did not ask for or need. Bush, Cheney, Rush, Hannity, Coulter for it? They are all millionaires fool."

You can not have been born this dumb. That has got to have been learned! Did you go to public school?

Taxes of any subsequence is only born by the Rich. The progressive tax system, nearly by definition punishes exceptional performers and rewards low or mediocre performers. It even rewards non performers. Try raising your kids that way and see how that works out.

In America, business and corporations are taxable "people". When you lower the tax burden on high performers, they tend to invest more in their enterprises, such as more jobs and more materials - creating a larger, long-term tax base. When you lower the tax burden on every day consumers, they tend to invest more in personal goods -- creating a one time tax opportunity.

By the way, Bush, Cheney, Rush, Hannity and Coulter do not need tax breaks. They already have thier slice of the good life. If they are for the tax breaks for employers, they probably are looking for ways that others can have it too. Coming from the selfish Left, that may be hard to understand.

Mac Moore your post @4:25
I could not have written that post any better. However since you were addressing it to a liberal i.e. jetpilot (actually he's the jetpiolot of the helo at wal-mart) they wear blinders and tin foil hats and only see and hear what they want to hear. Facts are just something to be thrown out the window and manipulated to their needs. It's like trying to explain the facts of life to a baby. This give this blank look on their face and their saying What are you talking about Daddy?

PAX Man
I want to thank you for the effort you make to entertain us here at TH.
If you Communist buffoons did not come here to make fools of yourself TH would be as dull as moveon or DailyKos.
You also give us opportunity to study your weird mental process. I have never seen a Conservative afflicted with the mental disease you have, it must be confined to Communists.
It must be painful to be cursed with a disease that compels you to waste your day on sites where you know you will not enjoy reading the articles and comments then find your comments are not appreciated.

Liberalism Is Religion - Believe It!
sheepdog offers as to speaking to the Left, "It's like trying to explain the facts of life to a baby."

Agreed.

Stealing from an old bumper sticker, "MSM said it! I beleive it! And, that's it!". At least Ann was right about Liberalism being a religion. It does not have to make sense, it just needs to feel good.

Mac Moore & Sheepdog
A thought to consider?

Ask Jetpilot his opinion on our open border and you will be surprised to learn he is strongly with us on that issue.

We need to find a way to isolate issues we all agree on and Gangshag Congress to fix them.

Then we can go back to bickering and insults about everything else!

Patreaeus Is Not A John Kerry Baffoon
will offers, "God help General David Patraeus should he run for office & the conservatives decide they don't like his politics. Of course, he'll be swift-boated."

"....swift-boated"? Exposed as a liar and a fool? I don't think so. General Patreaeus has never disparaged or lied about his team or time in service that I know of.

Nice analysis Higene
But totally wrong. You libs just love to accuse Ann of being hateful, racist, anti-Semitic, homoophobic and everything else under the sun.
In other words all the same things you accuse all conservatives of being which in fact you liberals are. It's proven fact over many years.

So give it up, Ann Coulter is right about McCain, if you'd bother to look at his record you'd see that. Just the same way she's right about you liberals. You're all worthless.

Lilly Has An Imaginary Kerry In Mind
Lilly offers, "Last night I saw some Republican Congressman praising John Kerry for his military heroisim---because Kerry is now working with him on a VA benefits package. This would be the same John Kerry who in 2004 was called a traitor by Republicans because he opposed George W Bush,..."

No, John Kerry was called a traitor because he disparaged and lied about his team. Instead of standing up for his team, he trashed them for political gain. And, he was exposed as the lier and traitor that he was.

Now, he is trying to get some forgiveness, and votes, by sponsoring a VA benefits package. Okay with me, regardless of the selfish, political motivation.

Higene
I think that "Higene" has been smoking rope. There is a reason Ann Coulter is so popular. She is sooo logical and bluntly truthful. And, oh yes, I agree with her that our strong suit is "HONOR",and might I add, "DUTY, HONOR, AND COUNTRY."
And I agree with MARINES' DAD(thank you for your sons' service), LIBERALS CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH. They are emotional no-minds, who want things their way. They use racism in their own campaigns(CLINTONS). They are in denial about the progress in Iraq. They actually hate the military and its people(SAN FRANCISCO CITY COUNCIL & THE MARINES & AIRCRAFTT CARRIERS).
Maybe, "Higene", you should just pack and move to say, Cuba,Venezuela,North Korea,Russia,or China where you could get some of that great socialized medicine and be around "like-minded people". I LOVE ANN COULTER!

Norm, Global Cooling!
http://ibdeditorial.com/IBDArticles.aspx?id=287279412587175

Back in 1991, before Al Gore first shouted that the Earth was in the balance, the Danish Meteorological Institute released a study using data that went back centuries that showed that global temperatures closely tracked solar cycles. To many, those data were convincing. Now, Canadian scientists are seeking additional funding for more and better "eyes" with which to observe our sun, which has a bigger impact on Earth's climate than all the tailpipes and smokestacks on our planet combined.

And they're worried about global cooling, not warming.

Good post at 4:25 PM

I get a good laugh at moderates in the Republican Party lecturing conservatives on our duty to vote for their puppet.

They have sneered at us, called us names, ignored us, and acted embarassed to even associate with us.

They never even thanked us for taking the Congress back for them in 1994 after 40 years of Democrat control.

Now they act like we owe them our votes and support because ... why?

What have the moderates in the Republican Party ever done for conservatives or conservatism?

If we aren't going to get our agenda there is no sense in supporting the Republicans any more than there is in supporting the Democrats.

I'm with you. There is no default preference for the Republicans anymore. If and when the Republicans decide to support our agenda we will join them. But the Republican Party is now the the Moderate Party. The McCain nomination could very well be the wedge that spawns the creation of a new, conservative party.

We don't belong to the Republicans. The sooner they get that through their thick egos and their thick skulls the sooner they will understand the calamity they have wrought with their moral and political cowardice.

I love Annie but.....
I love Ann Coulter but I beleive she is saying what she is saying for the shock factor.
I do not particularly like McCain but I would certainly vote for him over Hillary or Obama.
If Obama wins, his administration will be a confused mess and gone in 4 years. However, with Hillary and her Red Chinese money, private investigators and FBI files, we will be stuck for 8 years. The damage she will do is impossible to contemplate.
With McCain, there is the vague chance he will do the right thing.
With Hillary or Obama, theres no chance.

John McCain "accepts the judgment of the majority of American people that law enforcement in immigration must come first..."

Yes, he accepts that he will "first" have to build that "goddamned fence" before he can get legislation granting citizenship to the nearly 20,000,000 aliens currently residing illegally in the United States.

There is no "first". Build the fence; jail the employers; fine the landlords. We need to make it MUCH harder for the illegals to live here than it was for them back in Mexico. When they can no longer obtain ANY work and can no longer find ANY shelter, they will self-repatriate.

Right now, it's simply too easy for them to stay. And McCain would only make it easier.

McCain is not the frog, he is
the boiling water.

Put a frog in a pot of boiling water, he'll hop out.
Put a frog in a pot of room temperature water, and slowly turn up the heat, and eventually you'll boiil yourself a frog.

McCain is like that. All you people who keep saying, "ah, well the dial is somewhat to the right" are like that frog. The fact that the dial is barely to the right doesn't phase you. The fact that the dial needs to be turned even further to the right, doesn't phase you. The fact that the dial once once much farther to the right, and by accepting the movements to the left that have been made over the past decades as achieved its current position, is likewise lost on you. The scale on the dial is being reset, as well, so what was wildly left years ago is today merely moderate.

So when you wake up and realise that you've been boiled, go ahead and blame it on those of us who tried to get you to hop out. You won't be convinced of your foolishness, even then.

The Breakout
Team Conservative: Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin.

Team Leftist: Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Michael Medved.

PRESENT, ARMS!
I salute Ann Coulter. She has the guts to stand by her conservative principles and not give in to the McCainiacs just to be popular with the neocon crowd, or the mealy-mouthed crowd for that matter. And she is absolutely right about Hillary vs. McCain. McCain is the reincarnation of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.

You cannot get 100%
of what you want 100% of the time. This vitriol by the talk show people like Ann and Rush and Sean seems a little self serving to me. And Laura Ingraham disappoints me because she is a personal favorite. But they will make a fortune with Democrats in control and their job becomes much easier. But it wouldn't be good for the country. Their job, defending George Bush, since he shares many of our views, has been a nightmare the last few years because he is so incoherent in defending themselves. Republicans lost the congress and it's kinda hard to blame that on John McCain. It's because of the corrupt characters we put in there. As far as Dobson or Robertson--they should be motivated in their speech to glorify and worship our God. Too often it appears they are looking for power and money for themselves. John McCain will give us a lot of what we want. On many issues we can find middle ground and if we don't we will lose it all. Immigration is just such an issue. If he really will build the wall, we can then talk about what to do with the who knows how many million here. But folks, deporting them isn't going to happen no matter who is president.

"So John McCain isn't ideologically pure..."

Stop right there. The problem is not one of ideological unreliability. The problem is McCain's unwavering reliability: you can always rely on him to stab conservatives and his fellow Republicans in the back. Where is "McCain-Santorum"? Where is "McCain-Gingrich"? Where is "McCain-Sessions"? Where is ANY piece of legislation McCain co-authored or co-sponsored with ANY conservative? Nope, just McCain-Feingold (an offense to the Bill of Rights), -Kennedy (skirting awfully close to treason), and -Lieberman (rank stupidity).

I have tried to reconcile myself to McCain's candidacy; really, I've tried. But every time I start the sentence "well, at least he's strong on...", I find that I can't finish it with anything that doesn't have the word "Iraq" in it. The Gang of 14, closing Guantanamo, no drilling in ANWR, the above-referenced pieces of legislation -- the list of his transgressions, usually accompanied by bitter invective hurled at his *Conservative* opponents, goes on.

I heard his speech the other day at CPAC, but I know his record, and I just can't bring myself to believe that he's had a genuine change of heart on anything. CONVINCE ME, if you can, but given the man's uninterrupted contempt for so many things I hold dear, how can you?

Oh, I see, the other CPAC
Let's see, there was the Conservative Political Action Conference and then there was the one Ann spoke at, the Crybaby Political Action Conference. Did TownHall really co-sponsor her?

Charles Martel

There's a video here on TH of
columnist Mike Adams addressing the CPAC audience.

When Mike mentions Ann Coulter the CPAC audience boos & hisses (kinda like they did sporatically for John McCain).

I must stop thinking of "conservatives" as a single voting bloc. They have varying agendas, some are religious, some are not, they can be split & fractured as well as the republican party as a whole.

Question to others here: Do fiscal cons go to CPAC? Or neo-cons? I'm getting the feeling it is mainly social cons who want politics to be an extention of church.

Wrong Wendy
Sean Hannity IS NOT a leftist. He couldn't be any farther from it if he tried.

O'Reilly is another story, he stays pretty much to the center and he irritates both sides equally.

Medved? I can't say, I don't listen to him or read his columns, but I get the impression that he's definitely a liberal.

There were two posts shortly after my Saturday 7:46 AM and 7:51 AM posts addressed to me. I get to them now because I have a life.

One made a false statement about John McCain being a "Red Colloborator." That is a lie. McCain's war record is a story of courage. McCain was a Navy combat aviator who flew jets off and on carriers during the Vietnam War to conduct bombing missions over North Vietnam, which had one of the toughest air defense systems in military history. On the day that McCain was shot down, he took off from a carrier, flew over Hanoi and bombed a power plant there, was shot down by a surface-to-air missle, bailed out but was very badly injured when captured; he thereafter endured 6 years as a P.O.W. refusing preferential treatment and being subjected to real torture -- e.g., having his arms broken and then being hung by his broken arms and beaten senslessly by sadistic North Vietnamese guards. True conservatives are patriots who honor such patriots as McCain, not play deceitful games.

The other referred to me as a McCain staffer. I am not. I am, however, a McCain supporter and contributor. That post accused me of not telling the whole truth. I just did, and I have attempted to do so when I have addressed the subjects I have in the posts I have made. There is so much one can write in these posts.

Yes will there is a difference.
Conservatives actually think for themselves and are guided by reason.
This is allowed in the Republican Party.

Progressives blindly follow ideology.
These are the leaders they follow;

Some of those who speak on their behalf are unaware of what they are supporting.
Lenin himself called them, "Useful Idiots"

To Charles Martel re 8:01 PM post
What you are overlooking is that while John McCain accepts the judgment of the American people and will pursue law enforcement first as a Republican policy, Obama or Hillary will not do that, but rather seek real amnesty as a Democrat policy. Obama and Hillary's argument on immigration is to fault President Bush for not getting "immigration reform" passed. So your attack John McCain is not realistic. The alternative is far, far worse.

Remember disastrous 4 years of Carter
Sure, we got Reagan after him, and he could repair the damage to the economy of Carter's stagflationary ideas. But even Reagan could not fix what Carter had broken overseas. E.g. Carter handed the Panama Canal back to Panama, even though it was built with American ingenuity and blood, so it fell under Marxist control. And the whole mess in the Middle East is largely due to Carter betraying the Shah of Iran and allowing the Ayatollahs to transform an American ally into a bitter foe. The arming of Saddam was a result of needing to counteract the danger of spreading Islamofascism (just as we allied with mass-murderer Stalin against Hitler).

Wilhelm Klinton damaged the military and enabled the rise of Osama. Don't allow Heilary the keys of the White House!

The right medicine
I have said for years that Hillary is what we need in the White House. She is the poison that will kill off all the RINO's.

Based on todays election results
It's going to be Obama in the WH, not Hillary.

McCain
A conservative third party candidate would ensure the election of a Democrat. Will that promote the agenda that conservatives and real Republicans want?
I think that it will not. A lot of damage to the country can and would be done in four years by a Democrat President especially by liberal Democrats (is that an unnecessary phrase). Both Hillary and Obama are liberals. I think Obama got a 100% liberal score from the ACU.

Ann Coulter
I think the deomo's deserve Ann Coulter.

to the tune "Abraham, Martin and John"
In-gra-ham, Limbaugh and Ann

Has anybody here seen my old friend Limbaugh?
Can you tell me where he's gone?
He was an entertainer once, but now
He's made a movement that he leads
round and round and round until it's gone

Has anybody here seen my old friend In-gra-ham?
Can you tell me where she's gone?
She was a clerk on our Supreme Court once.
but now she thinks she is one instead.
It reigns supreme in her blonde head. Oh yes, she's gone.....

Has anybody here seen Ann "orexic" Coulter?
Can you tell me where she's gone?
She use to chew up liberals once,
but I guess she couldn't find enough
Or else she just turned sideways. POOF! She's gone.

Ann Coulter at least has guts
Ann, you have guts. That is something lacking in so many of todays politicians. I too will vote for the democrat if i think McCain can win. Otherwise I'll write in Mitt. McCain in the white house with a democrat congress would destroy the country. The republicans in the senate and house would not fight him and he would always give the dems what they want.

Someone in an earlier post said that at least McCain would close the border off. Yeah right! Like I am going to believe a guy whose hispanic outreach person is a mexican national who believes we should have no border with Mexico. Dream on.
