Obama Fever Makes One Fan Pass Out

What was the biggest suprise of Election Day?

Barack Obama has been compared to a rock star and this morning one of his supporters passed out upon seeing him in typical fan-worshipper fashion.

Liberal blogger Markos Moulitsas writes on his blog DailyKos:

“First thing this morning, Barack Obama had a rally in the same space, restricted largely to Dartmouth students. Again it was full (I'm told students started lining up at 6:00). A few students did leave as class times approached, but the most dramatic departure was that of a student who lost consciousness and was carried out on a stretcher. This provided an interesting break in Obama's usual stump speech, and an opportunity to watch him reacting on his feet. He noticed the movement in the crowd and asked if someone had grown faint, signaling to staff to come help. As first aid providers made their way to her, he reassuringly told the crowd that it was nothing to worry about, that it happens frequently and people are usually fine with some water and rest, though often embarrassed. As it came to appear that this case might be more severe and an ambulance was called, he simply stood calmly and attentively. He didn't crack jokes or seek attention for himself.”

Good thoughts. I agree, actually, that energy is good for dialogue. Obama is all that. So is Ron Paul, for that matter. They enrich the landscape.
I can answer your "whose fault will it be" question. it will be retroactively president Bush's fault.
And I daresay, it will be polically very incorrect to criticise pres Obama (without being called racist). Maybe that will elevate the dialogue after all!

Obama excitement is good for everyone.
I think Obama is a harmless politician and a very engaging public personality. It has really been a generation at least since there has been a national public figure that could engage the electorate at an emotional level. While Obama does have limited experience and some goofy ideas, an energized electorate is a good thing for the welfare of the country at large because not only are Obama's people excited - so are the rest of us.

It is interesting to consider what will become of the "everything is George Bush/Dick Cheney's fault" crowd if we elect Obama. Where will they direct negative energy?
