Poll
Will the Dems' health care Christmas Present to America be an improvement or detriment to our health care system?

When Barack Obama attacked Hillary Clinton, she accused him of “abandoning the politics of hope,” but when she does it her campaign calls it “drawing contrasts.”

Clinton tried to head off any criticisms Obama would make of her in the October 30 Democratic presidential debate by mocking the mocking the title of his autobiography “The Audacity of Hope.” In an October 30 memo, her campaign said “Losing ground in the polls, Senator Obama announced over the weekend that he will abandon the politics of hope and attack Hillary in tonight’s debate… One candidate is defining the ‘politics of hope’ while the others are abandoning them. Want to guess which one?”

Right now, it would be hard to tell. As Clinton loses her once-commanding lead over Obama in Iowa, she increases her attacks on the Illinois senator. She once now trails him by 3 percent according to a Des Moines Register poll released today, 28 percent to 25 percent. John Edwards received 23 percent in that poll, making each of the three candidates within the poll’s margin of error, 4.4 percent, of each other.

Within the last week, Clinton’s campaign has accused Obama of illegally dishing out political action committee money to early primary states, demanded he take down “misleading” television advertisements about Clinton’s healthcare plan and even tried to make an essay Obama wrote in kindergarten a point of contention.

Frank James of the Baltimore Sun was a bit taken aback that Clinton would investigate Obama’s childhood writings. “Good thing he was born before widespread pre-natal ultrasounds,” he joked. “Who knows how they might have used that against him?” Then James predicted this strategy would backfire on Clinton. “The problem for Clinton is that her campaign's attempt to paint Obama as a calculating type who precociously hungered for the presidency runs the risk of reminding voters of some of the very questions they have about her, that she herself has wanted the presidency for decades and has plotted her course with that in mind,” he said.

Compounding the charges of hypocrisy is the fact Clinton has a long history of campaign finance troubles herself. The details surrounding Whitewater, “Asiagate,” the selling of the Lincoln bedroom and other scandals have filled up thousands of book pages. Her campaign was forced to pay a $35,000 fine to the Federal Elections committee for “underreporting” donations in her 2000 Senate election and return almost $1 million in campaign donations solicited by her felon contributions bundler Norman Hsu this year.

The Obama camp is trying to magnify her attacks over the internet and even make some money off them. Obama campaign operates a website called “Hillary Attacks” that asks Obama supporters to submit any negative criticism Clinton makes of Obama and sent an e-mail solicitation on Monday that cited the “cost of negativity” Clinton incurred his campaign.

“These attacks take attention away from solving people’s problems and exact a real cost on our political process,” the appeal said. “We need to respond by increasing the cost of these tactics for her campaign.”

Below is a list of quotes from the Clinton camp that seek to cripple Obama’s candidacy released over the past few days.

“I have for months been on the receiving end of rather insistent attacks—and now the fun part starts. We’re into the last month and we’re going to start drawing a contrast.” –Hillary Clinton in Des Moines Iowa, December 3,

Obama “at least skirted, if not violated, the [Federal Election Commission] rules and used lobbyist money and PAC money to do so.” - Hillary Clinton accusing Obama of campaign finance violations in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on December 3.

“So you decide which makes more sense: entrust our country with someone who is ready on day one to make the decisions and changes we need, or to put America in the hands of someone with little national or international experience who started running for president as soon as he arrived in the United States Senate?”- Hillary criticizing Obama in Clear Lake, Iowa on December 3.

“I do not think people want a lot of talk about change. I think they want someone with a real record—a doer, not a talker. After eight years of incompetence, they don’t want false hope, they want real results” –Hillary criticizing Obama in Clear Lake, Iowa on December 3.

“There’s a lot that voters don’t know about Barack Obama. And one thing they don’t know, we found out this week, is that he has been using and operating a so-called leadership PAC, an apparent contravention of campaign finance laws, taking money from lobbyists despite the fact that he said he doesn’t take money from lobbyists.” –Howard Wolfson, Clinton communication director on CBS’ Face the Nation, December 2.

“In third grade, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled 'I Want To Be a President.' His third grade teacher, Fermina Katarina Sinaga asked her class to write an essay titled 'My dream: What I want to be in the future.' Senator Obama wrote 'I want to be a President,' she said." The Los Angeles Times, 3/15/07- Excerpt from a Clinton press release, December 2.

“In kindergarten, Senator Obama wrote an essay titled 'I Want to Become President.’ "Iis Darmawan, 63, Senator Obama's kindergarten teacher, remembers him as an exceptionally tall and curly haired child who quickly picked up the local language and had sharp math skills. He wrote an essay titled, 'I Want To Become President,' the teacher said." AP, 1/25/07 – Except from a Clinton press release, December 2.

“This ad is demonstrably false and should be taken off the air. The claim that his plan covers everyone not only contradicts the judgment of healthcare and economy experts, including Paul Krugman in today’s New York Times, but public statements by Sen. Obama himself.” – Patti Solis Doyle, Clinton campaign manager in a conference call with reporters on December 1.

“On an issue of this magnitude [universal healthcare] Americans are looking for more than a nice ad or a good speech. It’s not enough for Senator Obama to say he covers everyone, especially when that is inaccurate. The American people need a President who will take the action necessary and fight for health care for every single man woman and child. Until the time comes when Senator Obama has a plan that will cover everyone, you should stop running this false advertisement. The American people deserve an honest debate about health care.” –An excerpt of a public letter Patti Solis Doyle, Clinton campaign manager, wrote to David Axelrod, Obama’s campaign manager on December 1.

Amazing...
How can this woman really say these things with a straight face!? A Clinton accusing another candidate that he:

1) has spent his life wanting to run for president;
2) may have some fund-raising challenges;
3) has little experience?

The gall of that woman!?

Good god
King liberal, you need to reread the artical.

It ain't good press there no-nothing, it is just facts.

King Liberal,
Conservatives don't want to tie into the immoral, worthless, idiotic, hypocritical bunch of blowhards known as the Democratic Party.

What We Truly Fear
King Marxist...

We fear socialists destroying the Constitution. I happen to believe that's worth getting worked up over (if you'll excuse the double preposition to end the sentence).

Hillary's final desperate plea...
...right before the votes are cast in the nominating convention: "Com'on folks. This guy is black!"

Hypocrisy?
Hillary is not a hypocrite; she is an insane habitual liar. It is so obvious that the only protection she has is the MSM.

Let the Games Begin
Hitery’s days of “rising above” viciously and relentlessly attacking her opponents on a personal level are numbered. The closer we get to the Democratic National Convention, the more her true character will be revealed.

This is going to be better than Thursday Night at the Fights; a local (to me) form of entertainment where amateurs compete in boxing matches.

If I were a betting man, my money would be on Hitlery in terms of who will dredge-up the dirtiest character assassinations (real or invented); it’s what she excels at. I’m sure she has been compiling ammo all along.

Of course, Hitlery has the advantage of the sexist card; “the boys are piling-up on me, boo hoo!” The men may be somewhat hampered by chivalrous tendencies? I suggest they treat her with the equality she protests to fight for.

So stock-up the beer cooler and get ready for a no-holds barred slam-fest!

Power/Money Mongering Hypocrit
That pretty much describes Hillary-She wants to bring up childhood writings of Obama? Good-THEN, shouldn't all Americans read her rants while at Wellesley in her thesis where she shows her hand in her beliefs of her mentor-Saul Alinsky-The Socialist Radical of the 60's? She is a Socialist(except for her/Bill's amassed wealth that they keep hidden through trusts, library, etc) and wants to control people through another Reign. This woman is a walking contradiction when she complains about ANYONE else's faults-it is she/Bill who want to "rewrite their history" and it's failure in addressing Terrorism(That's why Sandy Berger agreed to steal incriminating documents from the Archives for them) They have so much baggage, BUT, its 'piling on' if anyone dares bring it up. Funny how "The Clinton Mud Machine" works 24/7 in bringing up Anything on their supposed enemy list, but that's okay for them to do. These two are brutal, lying, egoists
who would say and do anything to return to the Whitehouse-and they are the Hypocrits, for sure.

Nick in Austin
Thanks for the belly laugh!

The hazelhatchery part is that she may very well say it.

Frankly, the woman gives me the raging creeps. The dead flat eyes are something I have seen on some really nasty horses, and a couple of contract killers.

Hypocrite!
Miss Marxist will lie and do anything for power.
Where were all these self rightheous liberals when the Clintons were taking money from Chineses generals ? Talk about criminal- all the the pardons that Clinton gave out to his relatives and Rich friends upon leaving office, something even the most leftist Democrats detested.

Hey Nick in Austin
I bet you're right. Your comment reminds me of something that happened in the 70s in a wealthy Chicago suburb.

There was a woman, a lomousine liberal, who was very outspoken, wore Black Power buttons, etc. One hot July day, a black garbage collector collapsed in her driveway from the heat. She called the police and screamed "get that "n word" out of my driveway."

The cops who answered that call are still laughing.

Weapons Industry Dumps Republicans, Backs Hillary

The U.S. arms industry has all but abandoned its traditional allies in the Republican party and is putting their money on Hillary Clinton.

Employees of the top five U.S. arms manufacturers — Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop-Grumman, General Dynamics and Raytheon — gave Democratic presidential candidates $103,900, with only $86,800 going to the Republicans. “The contributions clearly suggest the arms industry has reached the conclusion that Democratic prospects for 2008 are very good indeed,” said Thomas Edsall, an academic at Columbia University in New York.

Hillary has
so many weak points, I wonder how many of her rivals, in the primary or general election, will have the 'nads to bring them up. An unusually large number of those who chose to challenge the Clintons are now pushing up daisies. It will be interesting to watch, that's for sure.

It would be hard to pick which of Hillary's many character deficiencies bother me most. One of the top 5 has to be her attempt to be "in charge", contrasted with "I can't recall", or "I wasn't aware", or "I don't remember". If something goes right, she was in charge. If it goes wrong, she didn't know anything about it.

How can any reasonably intelligent person possibly believe that she is qualified to be President? How, in your wildest dreams?

Hypocrite is only the top of the iceburg
Hypocrite is only the top of the iceburg! Her weaknesses, lies, frauds, lack of any real experience to lead, no experience accomplishing anything this country needs in it's President, and yes - hate is so obvious. If everyone will just first open their minds and then research, they will be frightened by the real facts they find. IMHO.

Do you think Potential Hillary voters
read Townhall? The question is - why does TownHall run SO many anti-Hillary articles? Who are they trying to sway? For instance - if you go to the DailyKos - a page I never read, but assume it the diametric analog to TownHall - I don't see a single piece on the Republican candidates - aside from a bit about some Republicans running to kiss Racist Imus's ring.

What's going on here?
This can only mean panic! I can only auusme that by attacking Hillary so hard it's because they hope to propel Obama over her - because on THAT, the DailyKos (and I) agree - The Warpublicans would CRUSH Obama - they know it, you all know it - but perhaps the independent voters aren't sure - the fence sitters who read both TH and Kos (if that exists). Confusing.

I suspect that when slick willie

said that HELLary was the "smartest" women in the
world, he actually meant that she is the most "dangerous" women in the world.

I also suspect that, many months ago, when Dennis Miller said that should Obama get some real traction and gain on Hillary, he'd best have his head on a swivel...

Anne
I'm pretty sure Bill Clinton knows just how dangerous she is. One tends to keep their friends close, and their enemies closer. He's afraid to divorce her, IMO.

John Koop: Really?
"John Konop writes: Tuesday, December, 04, 2007 5:46 AM

Really? If the international socialists (iNazi’s) that control the Democrat Party & their constituency of trial lawyers, public school teachers, union-philes, “women –in-need” & assorted parasites get their way and this Harridan is elected President, don’t expect Ms. Clinton to pull troops out of Iraq before victory is assured. Why? The Democrat Party doesn’t want to be reminded for the next 50 years THAT IT LOST IRAQ (plus the ensuing bloodbath) when the “Surge” was working. The first left-wing, female-chauvinist President in history needs to establish her bona fides as Commander In Chief after all; hence she will turn 180 degrees when she assumes office. So men will continue to die not for a worthy cause but to continue the machinations of one of the most dysfunctional politicians in US history. Whose support do you think she will need IOT continue the war in Iraq?

It won't surprise me...Nick iA
what card Hillary pulls next! She might pull the "black" card, we are ONE race, the HUMAN race, and I'm not sure Hillary's quite human. I will say as I've said before, she suffers from Narcissistic personality disorder. I don't want to be around her when she loses. She's so wrapped up in herself, she can't see her own faults. She accuses Obama (not that I'm his fan) of all the things she does in triplicate. Especially the illegal campaign money!

Under her "healthcare plan" that was DEFEATED when Slick willie was pres, we might "all be covered" but it would be MINIMAL at best! Then she calls Obama's comments "attacks" and hers are "contrasts" another fine example of NPD!

She has to go all the way back to elementary and look at his school papers, I wonder what she used to write? Or are any of her teachers alive to tell us?? She might have one or two elementary school teachers alive, but I'm sure they probably don't remember her being cute!

HA ha Ha HA ha!

YLG: I believe you're right!

Not that he's the brightest bulb on the porch, but he's certainly smarter than to do that!!!

Anne
Are you sure Obama's head is not on a guillotine of HRC's making? I'm sure she would like to be "queen" and order him beheaded! I don't think Dennis Miller used the correct term.

BTW, I enjoy your posts, good thoughts, candor and amusing at times, keep posting... :) We need more such as yourself with intelligence on here!

str8t_talk: Thank you! :-)
It gets me in big trouble with the libs though.

They don't seem to like me much... :-)

And the paulists seem to really hate me! LOL

Thank You Hillary
I think its about time we started talking about Obama's Kindergarten Manifesto, that Mein Kampf of power-mad megalomania. And now the Third Grade declaration of his candidacy, which makes every penny he's earned since then a violation of campaign finance regulations. Thank God, er I mean Goddess, that someone as wise as The Smartest Woman In The World has access to everyone's files so She can make us aware of the scheming cockroaches that seek to take away the Anointed Presidency that belongs to Her By Right. Who else could have dealt with the hostage situation in NH as masterfully as She did? This shows Her ability to deal with Iran. Ahmadinajad was quoted as saying, "After New Hampshire we must recognize a powerful new America!" Thank You Hillary.

BTW Amanda Carpenter, in the second grade, stole Billy Parkman's milk money so how can we believe a word she says.

H(ell)ery Clinton
This picture of the demise of America and the American Way (Hillary) should be enough proof for all to see to it that she never gets into the White House.

Snicker
A press release from the Clinton camp stated that Oprah's support of Obama wouldn't matter. People in Iowa are not Oprah fans.

I fell on the floor laughing!

C'mon Hill, tangle with an American icon. Show us how you love black people. C'mon, please?

katy: Gotta luv ya! :-)
You're absolutely right on target!

katy
The press release said THAT??!!

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Oh, and I beg to differ on the contract killer eyes thing. Some contract killers have a set of scruples.

Hillary's eyes are more like a shark's.

WHAT NERVE
One sentence says it all. HSU ARE YOU, HSU ,HSU
HSU, HSU oh where is MR HSU

Hypocrisy????
Trust me, I am certainly no supporter of Hillary's, but this article made me chuckle.

The word "hypocrisy" has come to define the neo-cons of the Republican Party who have been ruling over this country for the past 7 years.

1) They accuse anyone who does not agree with them, right or left, of "hating" this country and its citizens. Meanwhile, they have done more to directly assault the vast middle class than any other administration in history.

2) They accuse anyone who does not agree with the war policies of this administration of not supporting the troops. Meanwhile, they have slashed veteran's benefits, sent soldiers into Iraq without providing even the minimal protective gear, turned a blind eye to the
crumbling conditions at many veteran's hospitals around the country and have demanded reimbursement of signing bonuses from Iraq vets who had the misfortunate to become wounded before being able to complete their tour of duty.

3) They have demonized the gay community while harboring gay men who sneak around in public restrooms and frequent male masseurs while at the same time voting against even the most basic rights for gay and lesbian citizens.

The list could go on and on, but I think everyone gets the picture. Hypocrisy, indeed.

Hippiest crit
It's nice to read that so many are insulted that the Clinton's think we're not onto their game:
we can do it, but you can't.
thanks for the comments - hopefully the Clinton camp will figure out that the campaign is made up of nothing but smoke.
Their philosophy must be something like

"let's get the focus off of Hillary, and lets be proactive and turn the attention to anyone else so America won't realize - we have no idea what we stand for"

Hillary doesn't have values on anything
http://njchristiansforhuckabee.wordpress.com

Hillary would be funny
if the thought of her being Pres. wasn't so scary. I mean, she got the people of NY to vote for her as Senator, so she obviously knows how to campaign. I am not sure how many deceased and multiple voters she used but she did what she took to win.

I'm a conservative, but while I totally disagree with Obama on the issues, I'd prefer either him or Edwards to Hillary. It's really saying something when you have more trust for a trial lawyer than for Hillary.

I loved her campaign's comment on Oprah. If she attacks Oprah, she is toast. Oprah, unlike Clinton, has actually achieved success without hitching herself to a man, and she is also respected by the general public for her many charitable acts, etc. Again, I disagree with Oprah politically, but at least I can respect what she has achieved.

Obama must be pretty smart
I wasn't writing essays on anything in Kindergarten. And isn't that the kind of goal most teachers would encourage?

Hillary's a hypocrite? Duh!
Hillary's a hypocrite? As I've said previously, that's the biggest non-surprise since Rosie O'Donnell admitted to being a lesbian. Let me give you a few examples of her hypocrisy:

- She claims she can handle the presidency as well as any man, but she whines like a crybaby when men "gang up" on her.

- She claims she to be strong and independent, but she calls on her philandering husband to bail her out every time she gets in trouble.

- She claims she can get things done, but she couldn't get her health care plan approved (at that time, Democrats had a bigger majority in Congress than they do now).

Hillary's just as big a phoney as her husband. The only difference is, her phoniness is a little more obvious.

What this Article failed to mention
Yes, Hillary is a Hypocrit and anyone with even half a brain would acknowledge this as a FACT. But the issues that Amanda didn't address, probably do to the fact that it isn't about Hillary's Hypocrisy, is that an Obama, Edwards, Kerry, Gore, or whoever, the ticket will be just as damaging to our Constitution and our Way of Life as Hillary's. They are all SOCIALISTS and they are America's Worst Enemy in relating to our Freedom's, our Liberty's, our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and to our FUTURE, and our Children's FUTURE.

"The list could go on and on, but I think everyone gets the picture. Hypocrisy, indeed."

The picture we get is that you can't support anything that you assert. Pick a few items and try.

Dorky1
Dorky1 - you are a PARROTHEAD, which makes you a LIAR. Please look up in Webster's.

In response to #1. "they have done more to directly assault the vast middle class than any other administration in history." No I would leave that up to FDR & LBJ and the Democratic Controlled Congress who initiated this War on Poverty with all the Entitlement Programs that we have today. The Repub's just added a few that were compromised to satisfy the Demonrats in Congress. I don't call a RINO a Republican.

#2. doesn't even earn a response. Lets just ask all Veterans and Present Military whom will they vote for in 2008. Republican or Demonrat. Their answer will demonstrate your b@llshit comments aren't worthy of print.

#3. A vast majority of Republican's, only a few, and the Repub's are removing them at the ballot when identified, aren't whom you were describing, but then again, the Democrats are always misrepresenting the facts. It is the Demonrats who are forcing their Gay agenda on our Children, whether Parents accept it or not. In Ilinois recently, Parents are fighting against the system, with little success, where the system was teaching our Children, k thru k12, "How to have safe anal sex". Other issues have arisen in Maine, California, and it appears Nationally as well that Demonrats and the Gay Agenda have violated Parents and Straight People everywhere with this Forced Indoctrination.

I don't support the Gays opinions or beliefs and/or way of life, however, I will not oppose their rights as Citizens inside the bedroom between two consenting adults. The Gay Agenda has brought that agenda out of the Bedroom and if you don't share their beliefs, then you are a Racist or a Hypocrit or whatever other name they feel like calling you. That is the modus operandi of the MSM and Liberals and Democrats - not the Republicans.

UGH
That describes my mood every time i even hear hillary's name.
I'm so embarrassed for this nation to have one of the most awful criminals running for president of this country.

Shame on those who would back this hypocritical crone.

The proof behind the items listed are available anywhere you want to look in either the right/left or mainstream media. They don't need support, because they are facts. Better pull your head out of the sand--or wherever it may be.

"Meanwhile, [Republicans] have done more to directly assault the vast middle class than any other administration in history."

Liberals used that line back in the eighties when Reagan was president. Alas, the middle class didn't listen. Perhaps they had forgotten the prosperity then enjoyed under Carter (which included double-digit inflation, double-digit unemployment, double-digit interest rates, etc.).

If you're not old enough to remember the Carter years, then you don't know what a bad economy is.

Queen of the Straight-face
She MUST be. I mean, after all, how in the world could she deliver the line, "who started running for president as soon as he arrived in the United States Senate" and not bust out laughing??

Hello, Pot? This is Kettle.

Trent Lott
Do you realize Hillary would be a non-problem if Trent Lott and Chief Justice Rehnquist had done their jobs and properly prosecuted Bill Clinton after the House of Representatives Impeached him. All they had to do was hold a proper trial, call witnesses, vote him guilty (they would have had to because the evidence was irrefutable) and run the scum out of office. Bill and Hillary would have retreated to Arkansas where civil cases were waiting and they would have been finished. Trent Lott and Rehnquist, two names that should be forever remembered for back room dealing that spoiled the future of our nation for at least 50 years.

But why
Hasn't anyone worked out a way to blame President Bush for this?
Or maybe they have in the posts I scrolled by...

Mister Ny Dog
I am a moderate voter that reads more conservative press than liberal press. TH, WSJ, and my hometown
paper, the Chicago Tribune are all daily read for me. I have voted for both parties candidates in the past, but I am still undecided about who I will cast a vote for in 2008.
I read TH because I would like to understand the Republican candidates positions as interpreted by conservative pundits/columnists and the average conservative citizen.
Websites like this can be a powerful and effective tool to promote a conservative philosophy in politics and culture. It's efficacy to promote conservatism is severely diminished or lost entirely when over-attention is paid to attacking those that hold a dissimilar position, rather than persuading people to believe in conservatism. What I find peplexing is the number of readers here that identify themselves as Christians, but are so poor at evangelizing or promoting their conservative beliefs. Many prefer to hurl insults at a potential convert. This is true of both columnists and readers at TH. What gives with that? Conservatives aren't born conservative. Someone must persuade them.
What I have found at TH is a 24/7, repetitious display of anti-Hillary invective and hyperbole from columnists and readers. I'm not saying that HC isn't deserving of some of it, but in my opinion, the quantity and quality of the anti-HC rhetoric is over the top. This certainly isn't persuading me in any way that conservative philosophy is the path to follow in daily life or in selecting a candidate in 2008.

Well, maybe it will just mean the end of WESTERN civilisation.

TH has never been about persuasion, honest debate, or straight-on rhetoric.

It's about humor.

So did that woman in Saudi Arabia who was sentenced to lashes and imprisonment because she was raped.

Do you take yourselves so seriously, or are you so dense, that you don't comprehend satire, irony, sarcasm?

My comment was a sarcastic remark to posters who think that the end of the world will come if Hillary Clinton is elected!

Perhaps an inability to speak tongue -in-cheek in your own heads, which seem to be so bent on disaster, evil liberals, and demon democrats has made you unable to see it when it's right in front of you.

You must be really boring people.

This is late but Hill's eyes are exactly like those seen in Spec Ops "operators". I used to see these dudes at NMC Portsmouth (Va) walking down the p-way. Holy crap- you could just tell- their eyes were flat and expressionless, they took everything in, they were always moving and they saw everything as a target. It's something that, once created, cannot be turned off. Besides, she doesn't just have the eyes of a killer, she is one.

Hi and thanks for the compliments.
It is difficult to have any kind of satisfying conversation with folks who are
a) hung up on one issue,
b) bent on literalism,
and who eventaully resort to yelling, name calling, ragging about someone's physical attributes (honestly do Sen. Clinton's ankles or eyes matter here?).
I think many of those kinds of posts say more about the poster than they do about the person they're disparaging.

Ladies and Gentlemen, meet god.

Me: The picture we get is that you can't support anything that you assert. Pick a few items and try.

You: The proof behind the items listed are available anywhere you want to look in either the right/left or mainstream media. They don't need support, because they are facts.

OK, you get a pass and don't have to support anything you say.
