Democratic Sens. Jeff Bingaman (Colo.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.) and Jim Webb (Va.) had voted put off a final vote on the bill on June 7, but voted to restart work today.
The following Republicans also changed their vote: Sens. Bob Bennett (Utah), Kit Bond (Mo.), Richard Burr (N.C.), Norm Coleman (Minn.), Susan Collins (Maine), Pete Domenici (N.M.), John Ensign (Nev.), Judd Gregg (N.H.), Trent Lott (Miss.), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Lisa Murkowski (Ala.), Olympia Snowe (Maine), Ted Stevens (Alaska) and John Warner (Va.).
Michigan senator Debbie Stabenow (D.) had previously voted in favor of a final vote on the legislation, but today voted against restarting work on the bill.
Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback (R.), who is running for the GOP’s nomination for President, did not vote on June 7. Today he voted in favor of opening debate. Sen. Tom Coburn (R.-Okla.) and Sen. Mike Enzi (Wyo.) also did not vote on June 7, but voted against restarting the bill Tuesday.
Additionally, the newly-installed Sen. John Barrasso (R.-Wyo.), the replacement for the late Sen. Craig Thomas who died on June 4, voted against cloture. |
