 "Me love you long time..."
I'm not quite sure I've ever seen a politician refer to the comparison of a reckless sexual act to the electoral process of asking for votes - though I KNOW that there have been more than enough voters who felt like forgotten girl who is STILL waiting for the guy to call...
But she said it - to a bunch of Iowa voters:
Sen. Hillary Clinton, speaking in Bettendorf, Iowa, trying to convince a crowd to caucus for her, explained that she wants to be with them so that she can win Iowa in November 2008.
"I want a long term relationship," she said. "I don't want to just have a one night stand with all of you." She was attempting to introduce her new "bring a buddy to the caucuses" plan. How the two concepts go together I'm not quite sure but that's her story and she's sticking to it...
They've also rolled out a half-way humorous campaign ad to get the message across - and stay tuned for the end of the ad where they continue to hit the familiary Clinton themes... "Marriage is hard" (who could remind us better than Hillary), only to be followed by what could at best be described as a subtle poke at "lesbian rights" when two college girls tell us that "dating is hard."
