Jackson: "Delay or denial in Health Care options means death!"

I think it does not mean what he think it means...

Sure you clicked on the headline because you assumed the Jackson was the guy on the left.

WRONG!

Turns out black clergy aren't monolithic zombies that walk around opining about cutting off a guy's manhood for not being "black enough!"

And some even THINK for themselves... Take my friend, Bishop Harry Jackson.

The Lord's Alt-ar?

In just a matter of minutes, and for the following three hours I will be sitting in for Frank Pastore in Los Angeles from 4-7pm PT (7-10pm EST). You can listen LIVE here. (And you can join the discussion by dialing toll free 888.995.KKLA.)

Of course we will talk about the latest developments from Illinois, including the recent "me-thinks-he-protesteth-too-much" Jesse Jackson Jr. comments on being named #5 in the 76 page filing by U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald.

I would also like to turn our attention to the remarkable composure and grace that  Dong Yun Yoon has shown in light of the fact that an f-18 destroyed his home, wife, kids, and mother in law yesterday. Plus, he asks for your advice, so what would you tell him?

If you'd like to drop a note of encouragement to Mr. Yoon here's his address:

Carol Alt, professed born again Christian, has posed for the December issue of Playboy magazine. Her confession as to why is to promote her raw foods lifestyle. Recently Faith Hill posed for SHAPE magazine in a bikini saying she owed it to herself... at 40! Alt is 48. And THIS story says that women are at their attractiveness peak at 34. Does it matter?

Finally men have been pushed completely over the edge. "Robot love" we'll hear from the girl that has changed one man's life forever. And try with a straight face to ask, is life just so hard for some guys that this IS the answer? (Perhaps you'd like to gift the man you know who fits that description with this!)

Spread the word and join us: KMC BACK on in L.A. 4-7pm tonight!

Jesse Jackson: "I am a two-faced donkey who likes to use the 'N'-word!"
Posted by: Kevin McCullough at 4:48 PM
OH YES HE DID...

O'Reilly was just on FoxNews explaining why he will be forced to play the tape tonight. (Some one leaked it first.) But Jesse did use the N-bomb in reference to who Barack was "talkin down too."

And yet he's argued that persons using the word should be subjected to hate crimes?

He's also lectured the entertainment world:

The Kind of Man...

In case you missed it my syndicated column this week dealt with the fact that two men who garnered the majority of the headlines this past week led very different lives...

In this corner you've got "Jesse the Castrator" and in that corner "Smilin' Tony Snow."

2pm:
The whole Pat Robertson "endorsement" of Rudy Giuliani thing made me sick yesterday. Since when does the Christian community need kingmakers any more than the black community needs "civil rights" leaders to tell us what to think or how to vote? The truth is for me personally I have far more in common with the candidate who happens to be a Mormon than I do with the one who claims devout catholicism. I got crushed for requests to give my opinon on the endorsement, but I'd rather be the voice that presents biblical truth and empower you to come to your own conclusions about such things. 800.345.WMCA.

2:40pm:
In an ideal world - abstinence programs don't belong in schools - nor do sex-ed programs of any kind. A new study concluded this week: "At present there does not exist any strong evidence that any abstinence program delays the initiation of sex, hastens the return to abstinence or reduces the number of sexual partners" among teenagers, the study concluded. The report, which was based on a review of research into teenager sexual behavior, was being released Wednesday by the nonpartisan National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy." But the failure is coming from only one place. The home! You feel guilty when your 13 year old daughter asks you where you were when you had sex the first time. Teens need to be able to talk to us about this more than anyone else - and yet - we put them in Christian schools, and send them to church, and all the rest and expect them to just "get it." It's the parent's fault that children are having sex! 800.345.WMCA.

3pm:
You learn a lot about a person's character by the way they treat those who can do nothing for them. A presidential candidate for office, well to do, well known, is campaigning through Iowa, stops in a greasy spoon to have lunch. Engages the waitress to get her to tell them her life story. She works two jobs, single mother, very hard life. The waitress comps the lunch, the candidate leaves and goes and makes a speech using the waitress' story. The press come back to interview the waitress. She's dismayed - 'the candidate doesn't understand' - they didn't even leave a tip. I know that I personally in the past have been far too uncaring about those who serve me. My own tipping practices have changed greatly in recent years. But how we treat those who can do nothing for us - reveals how we can impact our world for Jesus Christ in a very powerful way. 800.345.WMCA.

Dirty Laundry: Straight Talk from the Cos
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 10:30 AM

Bill talks to Oprah about his controversial 2004 speech to the NAACP on the Brown v. Board of Education anniversary.

"Somehow, these people that cared about the laundry only cared about the laundry. They didn't care about the children!...I thought they were crazy. I said, 'these people have lost their minds.'"

Is being "WHITE" such a bad thing?
Posted by: Kevin McCullough at 1:16 PM

You've seen the story by now: Jesse Jackson thinks Obama is "WHITEY White!"

Not completely sure what he even means by it but the revelation of the """Rev's""" thoughts on the matter tell us one thing for sure - Hillary outbid 'Bama and paid pretty pennies. Having bought the Jesse machine, Hillary probably feels its safe now to go about ignoring black people - pretty much the way she has her entire life - except when there is a photo-op to be had!

But what intrigues me about the concept that Jesse is attacking Obama with is - what does it really mean?

Does it mean that:
a) Obama "speaks too much like a 'white' man?"
b) Has not impregnated as many females as the "good" """Rev"""?
c) Did not participate in enough gang violence when a young boy?
d) Has never been shot in a drive-by on Chicago's southside?
e) Graduated high school?
f) Has a vocabulary that is larger than "f**k", "b*tch", "h*e", and "n*ggah"?
g) Is STILL married to his first and only wife?
h) Actually spends time in his home, with his kids?
i) Is able to speak intellectually on a wide range of socio-economic-governmental topics?
j) Has not had illicit sexual liasons with under-staffers while visiting the White House counseling other adulterers on their path to "god?"
k) Has spoken in Rick Warren's pulpit?
l) Has put forward an economic plan where the word - tax-cuts, and incentives were used?
m) Didn't kiss the ring of the proclaimed self-serving "civil rights leaders" of our time?
n) Thinks for himself, instead of buying the brainwash of self-appointed """Rev's"""?
o) Doesn't need Jesse, Al, or any other voice to "speak for him?"
p) Actually has a chance at large numbers of both blacks and whites voting for him?
q) Did not offer Rev. Shakedown as much money has Hillary did to attack his opponents?
r) Has not been arrested?
s) Still hasn't spread his spermination beyond his marital vows?
t) Actually has credentials like Editor of the Harvard Law Review?
u) Has a brain that works and is attempting to tri-angulate votes?
v) Has never needed Jesse Jackson for ANYTHING?
w) Can't make second grade rhymes?
x) Never used Jackson's rent-a-mob?
y) Can articulate actual thoughts longer than three sentences?
z) Is more satisfied with his life choices than Jesse has ever dreamed of?

Friends - the list COULD go on...

The point being - and hear me clearly on this - I do NOT support Obama - and WILL NEVER vote for him. But Jesse's knee jerk over Obama not rushing to the aid of six boys and creating the media circus that Jesse has become expert at - does not make Obama "white, black, yellow, red or green."

And who's to say that being something other than black isn't evil anyway?

I've known scummy white people. I've known horrid blacks. I've also known a GREAT number of people from ALL ethnicities that have shown courage, grace, and intelligence.

Maybe Jesse doesn't like the fact that a WHITE WOMAN bought him off and now he's stuck supporting someone he doesn't much care for.

Speaking of which - who is worse: A black man who rises to the top of his community's and society's pinnacle of achievements? Or a black man who sells his soul to spout the talking/attack points of plantation nanny?

On Like Donkey Kong
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 7:35 PM
I'm on O'Reilly tonight talking about the Internets, as usual.

We talk a little bit about HotGhettoMess.com, and I'll blog about it so y'all can click through to everything.

HotGhettoMess.com was founded three years ago on the Web by a young black lawyer in Washington, D.C. who saw outrageous pictures exemplifying the "hip-hop" or "ghetto" culture being passed around in e-mail and on the Internet without anyone addressing them.

So, she started collecting them, ostensibly as a bit of social commentary on her own, black community. The site features a "Not Ghetto" gallery as the foil to the site's namesake, a pretty good parody song calling for black educational achievement, and an eloquent essay on the subject. The site's motto is, "We Got To Do Better."

Jam Donaldson, the site's founder, seems to want to communicate the same message Bill Cosby got pilloried for a couple years ago:
We can’t afford to live like we’re living. From school, to clothing to music, to our children—where have our standards gone? And if our own can’t come out and rally for change, who can? Why do we so often condemn the people who point out what’s wrong instead of condemning the behavior?

And I will say again, to all of you who are angry at me for airing our dirty laundry—good I’m glad you’re angry, now maybe collectively, including me, we’ll be forced to finally go wash it. This site is the beginning, the ending is up to us.

There's a hot debate, of course, about whether the "airing of dirty laundry" in this way is helping or hurting. Some say it's perpetuating the stereotypes it's meant to combat. Others say it's a clever way of marketing the same message Cosby preached.

Enter BET. BET is releasing a "Hot Ghetto Mess" TV show, which is produced in part by the founder of the original Web site. The same people who have concerns about the Web site have greater concerns about the TV show. In the words of the founder herself, she too was worried about it becoming "America's Funniest Home Videos with black people." Others say it's just plain exploitation.

I'm of the mind that, while the site can be a place for decent social commentary and discussion (and, I think it can be), I'm pretty sure the show's going to be a disaster. In calling for submissions for a BET show, the show will probably end up glorifying and creating what Donaldson originally decided to bring negative attention to.

BET contends that the show has a social message, and is a way to bring that message to young people in a more effective way.
"There is a generation of people who don't know how to talk to their kids in a way that doesn't turn them off," Hudlin said. "Now they're complaining because we want to successfully engage them. Instead of complaining, they should take notes."
I'm reasonably sure that won't pan out on TV (although no one really knows because the show hasn't aired yet), because in giving that much hype to bad behavior, you usually create more of it-- see Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton. People will soon know that the quickest way to get famous is to get in a big, knock-down, drag-out fight in the street and send the video to BET's new show. Not sure that's what Donaldson was ever going for.

State Farm and Home Depot have already pulled advertising from the show because some African-American activist groups are objecting to it.

But I'm not sure the fact that advertisers are pulling out is an indication that the whole mission is fundamentally flawed. The issue of race in this country is so radioactive-- talking about the black community without getting in trouble is so hard, even for members of the black community-- that advertisers are naturally going to steer clear of anything that's not strictly inside-the-box when it comes to race.

Even opening one's mouth about race issues is like walking a terrifying minefield of political correctness, in which one wrong step can get you branded "racist" for life. And, as the years go by, the offenses that warrant the "racist" tag get smaller and smaller-- see the timpani drum behind the Bob Corker for Senate ad in '06. The minefield gets more and more dangerous, and no one wants to walk it. Thus, the only people who talk about race in this country are the two people who get issued full body armor-- Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. They are the only two who can say whatever they want without fear of backlash.

Well, if that ain't unproductive, I don't know what is. So, I say let's give someone like Jam Donaldson a damn chance, at least. Reflexively calling her exploitative and questioning her motives seems to me the wrong approach. She's a successful black American who intent on helping the black community, not hurting it. Whether the TV show her site spawned will do that is a huge unanswered question, but it's worth letting someone in the black community other than Al and Jesse try. What do y'all think?

Update: Here's the video, thanks to Allah.
