As I just returned from Fox News from my morning appearance and then a bit of business in Manhattan and a lunch appointment in North Jersey I flipped on the television in my home studio/office.
To my ears great embarrassment was President Barack Obama yet again on television asserting things as fact that were in fact not true. He also asserted a number of things to be true that are yet unproven, and in which there is wild, and widespread controversy over the claims of such.
His push was for the quick and immediate passage of the Cap & Trade, Global Warming, or as he likes to deceptively call it "Clean Energy Jobs" Bill.
Whatever you call it, it is a disaster, and it appears he is now urging it to be pushed through prior to the July 4th recess.
This legislation will force the single largest tax on the American people of ALL the tax increases that Obama has pushed through to date.
Setting aside the fact that the assertion that the climate is warming the earth is in grave dispute, and setting aside the issue of what degree humans are causing it, the economics of this bill should be the lone reason as to why so many Americans should oppose it.
It will create or contribute to the highest rate of inflation (alongside the influx of printing valueless currency) that the individual family will be asked to shoulder.
Get this through your thick head President Obama. Corporations DO NOT pay taxes. THEY NEVER HAVE, they never will. The clients/customers of those companies pay taxes... the taxes that are passed on to the consumer from the corporation. Businesses who do NOT pass the cost on to the consumer GO OUT OF BUSINESS.
America already leads the pack in terms of environmentally friendly ways of doing life. China, India, and a host of other nations, including our neighbor to the south lag far behind and are the current predominant cause of CO2 emissions in the world.
Your insistence President Obama on pushing through this ill-conceived, unfounded, and blatently false rationale for a bill who's very existence is still under tremendous debate WILL HURT THE AVERAGE AMERICAN.
We must, we can, and we should oppose this bill with tremendous ferocity:
