No Cat Fight?
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 1:28 PM
Howard Wolfson says not to expect a Hillary/Palin political pillow-fight.  (By the way, the "cat fight" reference is his title, not mine...)

Wolfson says the whole notion is contrived by the media.  That may be true, but the real reason Hillary won't try to take down Palin is that 1). it would make much of what she said during the primary hypocritical, and 2). she doesn't really want Obama to win ...

for the feminist brigade of Kimberly,
Hazel and the like...

Hillary would be an absolute nothing if it weren't for Bill. Let's face it, she stayed with a cheating husband whom humiliated her and this nation just to make out in the end. The last thing we need in the White House is Bill with time on his hands...I shudder to think. (Very different from those shivers up Christ Matthew's leg).

I don't get how all you liberal fanatics put up the facade of being so "Pro women" when really all you are in "Pro lets kill unborn babies."

And newsflash: I want a pitbull in the White House. I want someone who wants to fight the good fight and not wimp out to please people when they know what they are doing is for the common good.

Palin has worked hard. She has lived the American Dream. The TRUE American Dream. She did it herself, not by sitting in the passenger seat of the Presidential motorcade by chance.

I don't believe...
For one second that Hillary actually supports Obama. I do not believe she wants him to succeed.

She never once in her speech at the DNC said she believed Obama was ready to be POTUS. And then her husband played his usual tune of "Do La Ti So Me Me Me Me Me Me Me Me..."

I hope McCain Palin win because:
1) I am a patriot and they are the better pick for the USA; and,

2) I will relish seeing their opponents do this after the election (the glimpse of the future curtesy of the ghost of election 2008 future):

The dye was cast when 'O' snubbed 'Hill'
What goes around comes around. The short sighted
Dems., abandoned Hillary for the weak man and now Lady Sara has filled the gender void! A Clnton VP was the winning ticket, the one to beat McCain! Give us a valid reason why the heavyweight Hillary was disrespected, along with millions of her supporters, for a lightweight Biden?! What could he bring to the table that Hillary couldn't? Joe, is not President material. Hill was also diversified, proven and ready! The foolish Obamas needed all the help they could get for the difficult Presidents job and the Clintons were the best! They have no excuse; Hill deserved to be VP, she almost became the nominee! Obamas Insensitive Biden pick opened the door for Mccain to bring in the Lady Sara, which is going to be the Rookies undoing! Go McCain and Sara Ex Democrat

Hillary lol
Hillary doesn’t do much except lie and that she is good at. I remember Tim R asking her a question about her campaign promises, she said that if she was elected to the Senate again she would bring in 1000000 new jobs for NY State, well she did not hit that figure nor did she exceed 10% her answer was the wrong person was elected. In other words all she could do was to give you poor NY voters is a line of chit, which she is very good at. Hillary has the New York voters bamboozled or else they must be dumber than dumb. She lies like a rug, but the rest of that Democratic Party does the same. Oh I don’t want to leave out the famous serpentine run from the aircraft to safety, for those that have been exposed to actual fire know that Hillary is a sham. The American women must really feel sorry for her just because her hubby got a few beanies, because she has not accomplished anything except for her lies.

I live in NYC. The only reason Hillary got re-elected with 67% of the vote is the Republican Party in NY has become a complete joke. There is no leadership and they have failed miserably to recruit top candidates. But a win is a win is a win.

I have to disagree with your thought that Hillary knows more about policy than Sarah Palin. Much like Obama I cannot think of one major piece of legislation that Hillary sponsored that became law.

They are on opposite end of the social issue spectrum and they would probably not win any converts. When it comes to taxes, energy policy, etc. Sarah Palin is much more on top of the issues and would beat her in a debate. I do not see how a senator from New York who spends all her time in D.C. and a hotel room in NYC is going to be more knowledgeable on issues that affect most Americans than a mother of five who runs a state that is a major source of the US energy supply.

Hillary
The idea that Hillary rode into office on the "back of a man" is an unfair characterization. I hope the same is being said about Elizabeth Dole!
If anyone here has read Hillary's biography as I have read several, you'll know that college classmates of Hillary have noted that they felt she was destined to be POTUS. Long before she met Bill she was a rising star. But when she married Clinton, she gave up her political ambition for his. And even Bill will admit today that he owes his political career to her. Yes, she has name recognition because she fueled the success of her husband. So any benefit she receives as a result of that I feel is fair. (God knows she has certainly taken the hits.) The good people of NY saw much more in Hillary than just her name and so she was elected and re-elected and 18 million voters this year agreed.

While I could possibly concede the fact that Hillary may have won her 2000 election because of name recognition I think the fact that she was re-elected with 67% percent of the vote is a testament that the people of NY think she has been effective.
I like Palin but Hillary is a policy wonk and can talk circles around her. Unfortunately, as shallow as some voters are in our celebrity obsessed society, for them, it would come down to a beauty contest in which Palin will come up trumps. And our media with its misogynistic tendencies will spin it into a cat fight instead of an intelligent exchange of ideas.

Hillary doesn't look "into it"
Did you see her this weekend? She's not exactly trying to inspire. It's clear her heart isn't into it.

As for her attacking Palin, why should she? She and McCain have considerable respect for each other, and are friendly. He helped her dive in when she first joined the Senate. Hillary has no reason to attack Palin either. That's not her style. Hillary doesn't want to be used as a pawn, playing the attack dog role. Maybe if she had been picked for VP........
Ana Mus writes: Monday, September, 08, 2008 2:02 PM
Maybe Hillary can say she
has the flu and needs to stay home on bed rest. lol

I find it amazing that Obama didn't "need" Hillary before, but NOW he needs her to use her feminine wiles to try to attract voters for him.

Of course I'm still wondering why Obama isn't drawing all those women voters himself. Afterall, haven't we heard over and over ad nauseum that most women were attracted to and voting for Obama?

MORE POWER TO THE GOD LOVING SARA!
HAZEL, CLINTON WAS MY CHOICE BUT IF YOU THINK lADY SARA IS NOT A WORTHY LEADER, LET ME SELL YOU THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE?! GIRL TAKE OFF THE OBAMA ROSE COLORED GLASSES AND GIVE SARA THE CREDIT SHE DESERVES! EX DEMOCRAT
londongrl writes: Monday, September, 08, 2008 1:56 PM
Neither do I
because we both know he is the wrong man for the job. But either way she's pegged to take the fall for his loss so she's damned no matter what she does. .
Hillary will be a good little Democrat and do what she is asked but she will draw the line at attacking Palin as a woman. I heard a suggestion this morning that Hillary actually campaign with NOBAMA but Hillary alone won't draw enough attention. If this happens it will only infuriate Hillary supporters more because it will remind us that she was not good enough for VP but, at his convenience, quite adequate enough to save his @ss.

MICHELLE CAN'T HOLD CANDLE TO SARA/ HILL
WE KNOW THAT HILLARY HAS TO HOLD HER NOSE, GRIN AND BEAR IT TO PROTECT HER CAREER, ALSO FOR HER PARTYS SAKE! SO WE CAN FORGIVE HER, ALTHOUGH HER PROMOTING THE DELUSIVE ROOKIE IS DISHEARTENING! THE CLINTONS KNOW THE PRESIDENCY IS WAY OVER THE MISGUIDED STRAWMANS HEAD! PALIN IS FILLING THE GENDER VOID, MORE POWER TO LADY SARA! NO MATTER WHAT HILLARY OR THE GUNG HO DEMS., DO OR SAY, NOTHING WILL INFLUENCE ME TO VOTE FOR THE SCARY FAR LEFT LIBERAL 'O'! HIS RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY DECISION, ITS HIS MINDSET! EX DEMOCRAT

The Wreck of the Barack Obama
The legend lives on from the Gray Lady on down
To the network they call “Fair and Balanced.”
The MSNBC, it is said, never gives up her dead
When the skies of September turn gloomy.

With a load of delegates - 2,500 or more
Than the Barack Obama weighed empty
That good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
When the gales of November came early

The ship was the pride of the Democrat side
Rising out of the machine in Chicago
As big ships go it beat out Team Hillary so
With a campaign and the Veep well seasoned.

Concluding some terms with special interest groups
When they left fully loaded for Cleveland
And later that night when the ships bell rang
McCain announced Sarah Palin.

The Kos and the Dish made a tattletale sound
Claiming that McCain was insane
First it was Trig, and then it was Bristol,
This would finish the old man off early.

Gustav came late and the GOP convention to wait
And bets were being taken when she would drop out
But when the Governor spoke to the assembled folk
The Dems were in the face of a hurricane Palin

When supper time came the old Veep came on deck
Saying I hear that life starts at conception
At 7AM when Intrade caved in
Biden said fellas it's been good to know ya.

Then Captain hit a shoal called "New Pennsylvania"
And the Dem ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when Mac’s polls went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Barack Obama.

reason #3
If Hillary listened to Sarah Palin's speech, she would realize that Palin would destroy her if they ever had a debate! Hillary has yet to have one major achievement in the senate. Sarah Palin got elected Governor on her own. Hillary Clinton got elected to the senate by having a husband who was elected President, keeping a paper marriage and cherry picking a state.
