The Goracle Nearly Announces on Oscar Night
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 9:06 AM

I didn't watch the Oscars. I have exactly zero interest in doing anything but catching up by reading the winner lists and watching YouTube highlights. Here's Gore, who won for "Inconvenient Truth" doing a sorta funny bit with Leonardo DiCaprio:

Jim Geraghty and Patrick Ruffini are wondering if the changes on Gore's website today signal that he really is running.

And, the Hollywood conservatives over at Libertas liveblogged the event for all of us, so we didn't have to watch. Sweet.

H/t PJM.

Devaluing the Oscars
This is at least the second Oscar given to a documentary filled with lies, half-truths, hyperbole, and misdirection. What does this say about the Academy? That they can't even be bothered with choosing films which actually fit the categories? That they would rather hand out awards to their favored than give awards for the best films?

If I were Martin Scorsese, I'd be pissed. By giving Al an award for a film based more on hype than truth they have devallued every other award they gave last night.

SO THEY ADDED A NEW OSCAR CATEGORY?!
For the best political propaganda film of the year. We all knew it was Al's film hands down anyway.

Kimberly...
None of that is ever going to happen...ever. Like arguing, "If the Tooth Fairy were to magically appear..." So, what's your point?

Oh, and it's 'H-A-M'.

Mary, Mary, Mary! You are such a lite-weight.

The almost announcement was supposed to be a joke. That's something conservatives do on occasion, but you have to have a sense to humor to get it.

Al Gore IS the joke. The Oscars...liberals giving other liberals awards for creating and distributing even more liberal lunacy.
What a celebration,eh?

CeeCee,
did you even read MKat's post? Let's see, she says that Gore was "doing a sorta funny bit with Leonardo DiCaprio." For the reading impaired, that's a different way of saying, "the almost announcement was supposed to be a joke."

Later, she noted that "Jim Geraghty and Patrick Ruffini are wondering if the changes on Gore's website today signal that he really is running."
You will note that this was not Ham wondering, but Jim and Pat, that they were wondering (not pronouncing, and that they were wondering because of changes to Gore's website, not because of his Oscar's schtick.

No charge for clearing that up for you.

Kimberly,
"Not a day goes by that the sane think "what if?" and envision a far different country than what we are mired in today."

You are so right. Not a day goes by that I wonder what this country would have been like if Clinton had never been president and if the likes of Boxer, Pelosi, and T. Kennedy had been booted out of office like the weasels they are.

By the by, "Gore" and "blaze of glory" don't belong on the same web site together, much less in the same post.

Cynewulf--
To add to that, not a day goes by where I wonder what it would be like if seniled Reagan was lucid enough to combat social problems and the economy and if the american sheeple wouldn't have been hoodwinked and scared by big boy Rove. But we can dream...
