Bob Novak is Back ...
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 1:41 PM

... and he has this about Joe Lieberman:

"Reports of strong support within John McCain's presidential campaign for Independent Democratic Sen. Joseph Lieberman as the Republican candidate for vice president are not a fairy tale. Influential McCain backers, plus McCain himself, would pick the pro-choice liberal from Connecticut if they thought they could get away with it.

But they can't get away with it -- and this has been made clear to McCain by none other than Joe Lieberman himself."

Another reason to
VOTE THIRD PARTY.

McShame is a horrible candidate for the GOP. How in the world did we get here?

To be fair, Obami I worse. But not by much.

LIEBS
Ha. Lieberman has more sense than McCain! This doesn't bode well for McCain keeping ANY of his Reaganesque campaign promises if he gets elected. Yet more evidence to not vote for McCain.
RASHUM writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 1:52 PM
PALIN!
McCain should pick Sarah Palin!
eddie too writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 1:58 PM
The only third party candidate Americans

should vote for is Ralph Nader. He would be a much better leftist leader than Obambi.
Pasadena Phil writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 2:01 PM
That leaves John Kerry
If only he hadn't turned down McCain's offer in 2004, he would now be in the running for McCain's VP.

Dumbest election EVER!

I have been holding my nose, but
if McCain picked Leiberman, I'm done.

I agree with others that say, How in the world did we get here? Utterly rediculous!
Pasadena Phil writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 2:24 PM
ericn, it's worse than you think
McCain has apparently bludgeoned the party elites into accepting a plank acknowledging an urgency to address man-made global warming.

http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2008/08/26/GOP_platform_may_hav e_global_warming_plank/UPI-42161219785776/

The John McCain being peddled by the RNC and the nose-holding myrmidons at TH is a MYTH. He WILL nominate a pro-abortion VP and his first act once enthroned will be to make another all-out attempt to cram amnesty down our throats. The guy is worse than a Trojan Horse Democrat, he is a total fraud.

Rashum is Right
Picking Sarah Palin for VP would show us conservatives that McCain isn't forgetting us. She's the top pick!

It's three issues for me, Phil
Pro-Life - which McCain is. I don't understand why he would trash his record with a bad VP. I think he will pick a Pro-Life VP. All the talk is hype in my eyes.

Immigration - which I have written numerous letters to McCain as he is my Senator. He is giving a good head fake while going the wrong direction. I'm already pissed about immigration, but good people like Sherrif Joe Arpaio are fighting the good fight.

Global Warming hysteria - I think McCain will abandon this view. It is clearly being challenged with more and more Americans waking up.

These are significant issues to me.
So, Abortion is the last straw for me since the next Pres will appoint many to the Federal bench including possibly appointing 2 to the SCOTUS.
Foamer writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 2:46 PM
Unfortunately...
I think it's fairly obvious that McCain doesn't care about us, much less not forgetting us.

He counts on us being scared enough of an Obama presidency to vote for him under any circumstance short of his being revealed as a high priest of Satan.
Calvinesq writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 2:55 PM
This Joe is smart
Joe Lieberman knows that it would not work -- smart guy. Would not want him to be the VP candidate, however. I will vote for McCain, and hope he listens to Joe' sound advice not to pick him.

Joe Biden isn't very smart. Will never vote for him.

Any other Joe from a third party has got to be a numbskull. Will never vote for a third party candidate -- what a waste!
Pasadena Phil writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 2:59 PM
ericn: on pro-life
If there is one issue that McCain has been solid on, it was on being pro-life. It is the only issue where his past actions support his current stated position. It can't be good that he is indicating that he is willing to trade even that away. Is there any conservative issue he won't surrender on?

I DON'T believe McCain will abandon his global warming position. It is not based on reality to begin with. It is about appeasing certain global corporate interests who want to create a global legal structure that will accommodate their need for globally regulated trade. If global warming trumps everything else (saving the planet for God's sake), how safe is any country's sovereignty? We have already seen how easy it was for Europe to agree to a Union where an unelected government operates in virtual anonymity. What these corporations want builds on that model.

The only national politician left who has any stake in caring about voters is you congressman. Let's not hamstring him by electing the very person who put him in the pickle he finds himself in. We will be sandblasting Washington with our phone calls and faxes once this election is over just like we did in 2006 and 2007. Why elect the very mastermind of what we were fighting against? If McCain gets elected, let's make sure he doesn't get a mandate. Let's transfer the excitement to Congress and make sure the next president is at a disadvantage to discourage him from even trying to cram amnesty or Cap and Trade down our throats.
Joe writes: Wednesday, August, 27, 2008 3:17 PM
No Way, No How, No Obama
I do not know if all these rumors are true. But since Joe Lieberman is arguably good on defense, let's assume McCain thinks he can act as CIC. it is clear McCain trusts Lieberman. But picking Liberman for Veep would be a mistake, because being President is far more than CIC and Lieberman remains a Democrat. Plus for the GOP, leaving Lieberman in the Senate is probably better for the GOP.

As for global warming/climate change--yeah McCain believes it is real. Most people believe it is real. That is because it is real. What is not real is Al Gore's insanity about catastrophic effects. The effects will be real, but relatively modest and over many decades. Serious if you live in Venice, the Maldives, and the Netherlands, but they can be dealt with.

So I seriously doubt McCain would impose a massive government expansion to deal with global warming, especially if that resulted in gasoline prices going up (which is estimated around $2 a gallon). Of course Pasadena PUMA is correct, there is no guarantee Mac will do that. You have to take that on faith. But I know that Barack Obama and his pals Nancy and Harry will not even pause at that speed bump.

So I will have to disagree with Pasadena PUMA and continue to support John McCain for President. Because McCain is clearly the best conservative choice for the GOP.

My first choice for Veep is Palin. Romney and Cantor tied for second. Pawlenty after them.

I am not a big Novak fan
But I am glad he is back and apparently well enough to work again. I wish him to get well soon.

Lieberman
is perfect for O'Cain. Someone needs to show this senile person on how to wear a yarmulke when he goes to Tel Aviv for guidance. "Good old Joe" knows how to do it.

Traitor.
Bob Novak is a traitor to his county. He should be tried, convicted and executed.
