There is news coming off the Hill that Senator Byrd and Kennedy both had to leave the Capitol luncheon because of illness.
Word is that Kennedy, who is suffering from brain cancer, began convulsing. No specifics on what happened to Byrd, the Senate's oldest member.

either of them pain or ill will, but I would never go so far as to call either of them honorable or of great standing. I'll offer a prayer for each of them. |

KKK and Chappaquiddick + "Honorable men of great standing." Ha, ha, ha -very funny. Thanks for the laugh. |
|
but I'd better keep them to myself.
"Godspeed you bastards!"
|

of sentences of two men who destroyed evidence and lied about what happened when they shot an unarmed man?
Nice set of values. |
|
|
But my guess is the ex-inner Klansmen of Byrd's self saw the sight of a black man becoming president and it caused a short circuit of ol' Bobby's wiring. |
|
At least the drug smuggler lived to testify and receive immunity.
Mary Jo wasn't so fortunate. Campean and Ramos serve a couple of years in prison, the Honorable Senator Kennedy served several decades in the senate.
I hope both of these men recover and my heart goes out to their families, but please, let's not make them something they are not. |
|
Nice ad hominem. Looks like MaineConservative shut you down.
The facts: A Klansman and a murder. Real honorable...
You have no credibility. Try again...
|
|
Are in poor taste.
Leave it alone and show at least some class by virtue of your silence. |
|
|
|
Lack class but the men don't? Interesting logic.
Nobody here wishes these men ill will. It's only factual to say that one was a former Klansmen and the other caused another person's death directly by his wreckless behavior. I'm sorry to say but they are the one's responsible for so many viewing the entirety of their lives in this manner. |
|
to speak ill of people.
But doing so when they're sick or dying isn't that time.
Let it go and keep silent or pray for them.
But in any event, it doesn't behoove us to attack them. |

Kennedy showed back in 1969 that he had no concern for human life regarding the Mary Kopeckne's situation. She, you will remember, was left to die in an air-pocket in Teddy's upside-down Olds. She suffocated to death, slowly - so said the diver who pulled her body out of the car. Kennedy set the tone on how to treat people in serious circumstances. He gets as good as he gets. All I can say is, close the door on the way out, Teddy, and don't let the infernal heat get into our side of death's door. |
|
There is something to be said for building false hope on very shaky grounds. I think Ted was eating lunch then it occured to him - 'oh my goodness we just help elect Osama Obama, then he fainted'. My hope is that EVERYTHING build on sand begins to collapse. This would be the judgement needed to clean up the house of cards standing on very very shifting sand.
Will Carolyne Replace Ted instead of being nominated via the NY route? Somehow, I think Ted will pass on the torch to her......and this was the error of 'new beginnings'.
I feel bad for Ted, but any guy who cites Barak as a 'great president elect' has to be suffering some 'brain damage' (pun intended). Maybe the doctors will up his meds or something......seriously! Nature does have a self cleaning system:) |

Something about the 44th president sounded very 'old' - oh yeah! Drama always surrounds him, even on his inauguration day people were collapsing at luncheons and being rushed to hospital. Just like his gramma the 'typical white person' died just before election day, 10 days after his visit and oh so conveniently, the only person who could tell us where this selected president was really born. What a fitting iauguration for the 44th president. Drama, Drama, Drama and expect more drama to follow.......democrats never disappoint! |

... I'm truly not mean-spirited.
My response is to those that troll on here taking the other position just to inflame argument.
When Sen Kennedy's tumor was announced I was more that encouraging, gracious, and polite.
I do not, however; based on their political posturing: Byrd for tacking on highway funds to the federal relief of folks suffering in San Fran from the '89 earthquake or Kennedy's political back-stabbing - have to withhold the facts of their past actions due to their age/health.
Finally, the citizens of Mass should be outraged that Kennedy's still seated. Several big votes in the senate in the last few months and he (rightfully so) is a no show. Needs to step down. Not only is he a representative of Mass but drives - federally - the direction of the country. During these times we need actions, not nostalgia, figure-head, nor staying seated for sentimental purposes! |
