Patriotism, Democrat-Style

Remember when Barack refused to wear a lapel pin, calling it a substitute for "true patriotism"?
Well, now perhaps we know how he defines "true patriotism." His running mate, Joe Biden, believes that paying higher taxes is patriotic.
Certainly, not all Democrats would agree with them. But it is noteworthy that, taken together, the Dems standard-bearers this year see pride in America as less important than the willingness to hand more of your hard-earned money over to the politicians to spend as they see fit.
Don't be fooled. It's not even that Barack sees taxes as good insofar as they advance the aims of the government. It became evident when he supported a higher capital gains tax -- despite the fact that a higher rate would result in less revenue -- that he supports taxation for redistribution as much as for governance.

This is the start of a socialist goverment re distribution of the wealth next thing we know is that we will be electing a King If they took all the wealth is the USA and distributed equal to everyone, within ten years the original distribution would return to the original owners. |

We need more money then do a couple of things , cut the congressional payroll, cut the congressional spending, ciut the ear marks ask Obama for that 900 million back, get Randls 1.2 billion earmark. Lrt the drillers drill and get those oil prices down, get the CEO that managed Fanny and Freddy oops 3 Clinton operatives now woring for Obama. A few swipes here and there could raise alot of cash |

Oh yes, who will pay for this 700 million dollar a day Iraq War cheerleaded by the GOP?
Q: WHO PAYS FOR THIS IRAQ WAR?
A: TAXPAYERS.
And if this is the great struggle for civilization as all you Townhallers claim, surely offering up some cash to support the troops is patriotic?
The disconnect between your bs and reality is astounding.
I hope Obama/Biden call you all out for your moral hypocrisy

He's half-right. When the government is fighting two wars, buying out private debt via the printing presses, and running anywhere from 10 - 55 trillion in liabilities, one way to express your patriotism and support for that government would be to write them a larger check. It's a much more concrete action that putting a flag pin on.
Of course, the other way to show patriotism to the Constitution would be to gather the masses, march on Washington, and demand that government reform itself, stop engaging in playing Globocop; cut spending; balance a budget and pay off the debt with its existing resources and do it now or we just simply stop paying taxes and cut off the money supply. |

Paying taxes that only "some" pay? And those who don't contribute equally have the "right" to exercise the decisionmaking that requires me to pay?
Patriotic to what...the plantation?
The earnings of our efforts and the earnings from investment of our resources are rightfully ours.
Taxation for purposes of redistribution is a "taking" that punishes productivity and rewards both those who steal and those who have the gall to place themselves on the shoulders of others without their consent. The transfer of risk and taxpayer-supported guarantees to absorb losses are also "takings" and they have to stop or this nation's economy is going into the toilet.
Throw these greedy socialists out of Congress. They are on the take and they believe if they just throw a few crumbs your way, you will accept it.
Patriotic...Biden doesn't have a clue. |

...Big Government controls more and more of The People's resources. "For the Good of the Little People", that is. |
