Secret ballots for We, but not for Thee.
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 10:16 AM
We all know the Democrats are frothing at the mouth at the chance to pass the Orwellien Employee Free Choice Act, a bill to eliminate the secret ballot process required to unionize workplaces. So, this little bit of information should be thrown in their faces over and over again.

From Politico:
Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-Md.) has intervened in the fight between Reps. John Dingell (D-Mich.) and Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.), hoping to resolve their battle over the chairmanship of the powerful Energy and Commerce Committee, one senior Democratic aide confirmed on Wednesday. But neither combatant has agreed to a deal and the dispute may still be resolved by a secret ballot next week.
Wait, what is that? A SECRET BALLOT? I thought those weren't "fair" and were forms of "intimidation" in the workplace, according to the Democratic Party's agenda.

Of course they want a secret ballot! Who wouldn't? Everyone is afraid of alienating the wrong guy! And that's exactly why the secret ballot process should be preserved--in EVERYONE's workplace, not just in Washington.

Hello
I believe it is the eliminating of the secret ballot by the union, strong-arming illuminati that is considered intimidating, not the other way around.

Obama is not intelligent
He is a lost little boy. I can only hope that he starts his administration working the left angle with a vengeance. He will be the gift that keeps on giving to Republicans for four years.

He will be the laughingstock of history. What a gift.

total misrepresentation
do you actually have any knowledge of the unionization process?

currently a group of workers can attempt to form a union by getting a majority of workers to sign card checks.

However, under the current rules a company can then ignore the majority card check and request a secret ballot. This is mainly done to needlessly extend the process and to allow the company time to intimidate and break up the unionization.

Under the proposed rules employees would still be able to unionize using a secret ballot if they get 30% card check, but it would end the employers right to disregard a majority card check and force a secret ballot.

Also, suggesting that the card check process is prone to intimidation is ridiculous. The national labor review board comes in to verify every card check in order to make sure no improper actions are taken.

Your representation of what the employee free choice act would do is misleading at best and in my opinion it's just plain wrong.

Ex-Tex
* Appoint a special prosecutor - Rezko - AMEN!
* Appoint a special prosecutor - ACORN - AMEN!
* Appoint... commission to investigate fundraising - AMEN!
* Appoint a commission to re-evaluate federal election laws - AMEN!
* Ethics complaints against Dodd, Frank - AMEN!

... have you thought about running for GOP chairmanship?

I would add:
* Ethics complaints against R. Wexler (not H. Wexler the moll from CA) and C. Rangel for tax evasion.

Bush should
Bush should start filing the Impeachment process for an illegal president, Obama.

Impeachment number one agenda for Republican party!

Ditch him before he ruins our entire Country!

BEFORE Bush turns over the country...
We MUST:

"Put as many long-range torpedoes into the water aimed at Senator Obama's ship of state before Republicans lose control of the Executive Branch as possible. Here are a few:

*Appoint U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois Patrick Fitzpatrick as a special prosecutor so he can pursue his investigation of Tony Rezko and his corrupt dealings with Illinois's governor and other creatures and spoilsmen of the Daley Machine. This will make it politically difficult for a President Obama to pardon Mr. Rezko and impossible for him to terminate Mr. Fitzpatrick as a federal officer come January 21 as a way of de-railing this investigation.

* Appoint a special prosecutor to investigate ACORN's voter registration methods and its dealings with the Obama campaign.

* Appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the Obama campaign's on-line fundraising operation, including its disabling of the credit card security software on its on-line donations system. File a complaint with the Federal Election Commission regarding same.

* Appoint a bipartisan (love that word!) presidential commission to review the candidates' fundraising in this election cycle and to recommend changes in federal election laws.

File ethics complaints against Sen. Chris Dodd and Congressman Barney Frank for their relationship with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Countrywide Mortgage."
