THIS Doesn't Fit the Narrative!
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 12:18 PM
In the wake of their electoral debacle last Tuesday, lefties like Eric Alterman insist that their partisans have reason to smile, because of ideological divisions in the Republican party.

But wait a minute.  Byron York reports this morning that MoveOn.org is raising money to attack moderate Democrats who decline to toe the party line when it comes to health care.  How strange that the MSM has been focused so exclusively on Republican internecine warfare, no?!

If anything, I'd rather be dealing with the divisions within the Republican Party.  At this point, they're centered around issues that are largely popular with the public, like how much to reduce the size of government, how best to restore jobs, how best to resist the Obama State's mulitple incursions on personal liberty.  Dede Scozzafava -- the nominally Republican candidate in NY-23 -- was so far outside even the Republican "big tent" that anyone who actually agrees with her on the issues can't be classified as anything but a Democrat.

In contrast, the Democrat internecine fighting is focused on an issue that is deeply unpopular with Americans -- health care "reform."  What's more, the members of the party who are under attack are, by and large, Democrats who just can't buck their moderate districts by supporting a bill the public hates on an issue that isn't voters' top priorities.

So the MSM chin-strokers and navel-gazers can revel in GOP disagreements all they want.  I prefer them to the problems that the Democrats have.0

Eric Alterman's bland and incorrect
assessment of the "state of Republican politics" is typical of the marginalized press, only the FEW read him and take heart!
The Tuesday vote, in fact, is sending the necessary message to moderate dems, only the foolish like Princess Botox believe that "her side of the aisle" won on Tuesday. As I stated before the district she represents contains the world's dumbest population! if she has any moderates voting for the Nancy/Obama health monstrosity, they will be booted from office come 2010.

Flacid left has been analyzing the right
since the Reagan years and telling us we're falling away from each other.

First it was over Nixon being a Keynesian, then right to life in the platform, (remember Mary Dent Crisp) then the evangelicals vs. the green lamp shade/Burning Oak Eastern wings of the party, then Pat Buchanan's off the reservation stuff, then more isolation vs. Neo Conservatives, then Ron Paul vs. the rest of us, call the role, call the role.

Democrats whistle past the graveyard of their own necrotic party while throwing little spitballs at ours.

They don't know their own history much less understand the Republican Party.

Keep it up.

FRATRICIDE
Yeah, we are war with the RINOs, but we are winning. They are starting to get it now- apparently- and assuming things continue we'll be back to Reaganism by 2012 at the latest. Reagan conservatism wins elections. Everyone, left and right, knows this.

The Dems however are looking at a much bigger problem, IMHO. They ALL know that their party cannot get elected/re-elected by running on or enacting communist policies. So they lie and try and hide their Leninist lunacy to get elected and then cram commumnism down our throats. Folks are wise to this now with Obama, Pelosi and Reid and want no more of it. Nevertheless the uber Marxists are going to have a blood letting if the Dems don't go even further to the left. It's a black hole for them, sucking ever more of their ranks into oblivion unless they escape now before they can no longer escape the Stalinist gravitaional pull.

Maybe the Blue Dogs will join RINOs like McCain, Graham and the others and form their own party. Then the Dems can advertise themselves the way they truly are: the Communist Party USA

Brilliant analysis
"How strange that the MSM has been focused so exclusively on Republican internecine warfare, no?!"

DUH! When Moveon steps into a congressional campaign and hands a Democratic seat to the Republicans, it will make the news, I promise.
