Al Arabiyah Reports Saddam Has Died
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 10:11 PM

That's the word on Fox, from Al Arabiyah, one of the witnesses to the execution.

The preparation:

The official witnesses to Saddam Hussein's impending execution gathered Friday in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone in final preparation for his hanging, as state television broadcast footage of his regime's atrocities.

With U.S. forces on high alert for a surge in violence, the Iraqi government readied all the necessary documents, including a "red card" _ an execution order introduced during Saddam's dictatorship. As his time waned, Saddam received two of his half brothers in his cell Thursday and was said to have given them his personal belongings and a copy of his will.

Two Arab news services are now reporting it, and the Hot Air boys are monitoring Al Jazeera for any footage.

BBC:

Former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has been executed by hanging at an unspecified location, reports say.

Iraqi TV said the execution took place just before 0600 local time (0300GMT). It was witnessed by a doctor, lawyer and officials. It was also filmed.

US troops and Iraqi security forces are on high alert for any violent backlash.

Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death by an Iraqi court on 5 November after a year-long trial over the 1982 killings of 148 Shias in the town Dujail.

too many Redbulls and not enough edumacation for you friend. So the electorate is right when they vote in conservative Dems but wrong when they vote in Republicans? See one of the differences between us? We don't blame voting machines and stupid people when we lose. We look at ourselves to solve the problem.

And what does the law of gravity have to do with anyone, Mr. "I still cling to the bad science of Evolution which has never successfully reproduced the same results twice in any experiment and has not come up with one single way to explain the 'evolution' of the eyeball"?

Bwahahaha *cough cough* bwah- oh never mind.

Executing Saddam is Pro-Life
T. Tom Sawyer: To turn your asinine remark around, why is that you baby-killing Pro-Choice liberals are not rejoicing at another death caused by a government? That is what you folks have done to the tune of over 50 million innocent children having been killed since the early Sixties (abortion).

If a man enters my home and threatens the lives of my family, to defend their lives (Pro-Life) I may have to kill this intruder. The same rule applies to our national family, if someone threatens our national family we may have to kill that person/people to save the lives of many other innocent human beings, members of our national family. A madman had already killed over 100,000 members of the Iraqi family and to protect further lives from being lost should Saddam ever get free again, they killed that intruder. It is a matter of national self-defense! It is in fact a Pro-Life position!

overgrown fetus
T. Tom, what if your mother practiced her "right to choose"? Then you AND Saddam wouldn't be here to bother us. I'm pro-choice, too. I choose life for the innocent. Babies=Saddam. I don't get it, help me out Mr. Moral Relativeness. Blame the Babies! How do you sleep at night?

A witness has been silenced

It was the tyranny of deposed president of Iraq Saddam Hussein, that in years 1982 Kurds were gassed under his own orders and today he is hanged for it. But actual the game of terrorism era started after that when Imam Khomeini came into power in neighbouring Iran. To contain Iran; United State and Europe boosted up Saddam Hussein with weapons and arsenals to make him a most power full, staunch US ally in Middle East; to fight a long war of attrition for Us against Iran. Saddam fought for eleven years in order to fully deplete Iran. Millions of Iranian as well as Iraqi died. To cover up the atrocities committed on the behest of US with the weapons and arsenals supplied by US and Europe; a witness has successfully been silenced.

It has always been so
that the deposed dictator is executed by those who depose him.

Something tells me that human nature wins out most of the time.

Good riddance.

I feel the same way I did when
I heard that Ted Bundy finally went to meet the only judge that really counts...relieved.

Like the women who feared Bundy getting free and killing again; tons of purple fingers must have had nightmares of Liberal Congress giving back Iraq to Saddam.

For them...I am glad it's over.

And ok, I never claimed to be holier-than-thou...there's a part of me that wishes there was a tape of Saddam facing God and trying to explain the graves and the rape rooms and the $25k "reward" for terrorizing God's choosen people.

Good he's gone
I always watch Fox of course, and Sean was his usual dynamic and straight-talking self. They showed videos and pictures of the graves, the bodies of women and children, etc., and covered the atrocities committed by Saddam Hitler Hussein.

Just for interest, although I should have known better, I checked in with CNN to see how they were reporting it. Larry King, who needs to just come right out and say he's a liberal, and John Roberts, who needs to just come right out and say he a socialist, were nauseating to watch.

Roberts was saying Hussein was a non-entity/figurehead who was no longer relevant to the war or Iraq, and by the tone, I almost expected him to say "he's just a harmless old man". He was also talking about the money the troops allegedly don't have for IEDs, blah blah blah.

My stomach had enough, and I gratefully went back to Fox for the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, as well as ALL the facts.

Great.
If anybody ever deserved to hang, it was that homicidal creep. I applaud the Iraqi government for realizing that this clown was making a mockery of their new judicial system.

I always thought that they should have dropped a grenade in that rat hole he was hiding in. He should never have seen the inside of a courtroom. Could you imagine twenty five years of Appeals, like we do things here?

It was interesting to watch Alan Colmes snivel about why they didn't keep Sadaam alive to be tried for all the other murders he committed. Of course Colmes doesn't believe in capital punishment.

He dragged out the same old questions about killing Sadaam resulting in violence in Iraq. He wanted to know what the Arab streets would think about this. Wouldn't this cause them to be anry with America? My question is; "What else is new"?

Colmes is a liberal jerk who looks more ridiculous every day. Tonight he looked really tense. His job is getting harder every day, but I guess that's why they pay him the big bucks.
