Cheney: Bush Should Have Pardoned "Scooter" Libby
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 12:42 PM
Former Vice President Cheney told a conservative magazine that his aide Scotter Libby, pictured on the right, should have received a pardon from former President George W. Bush.

CNN reports this quote from Dick Cheney:

"He was the victim of a serious miscarriage of justice, and I strongly believe that he deserved a presidential pardon. Obviously, I disagree with President Bush's decision," Cheney told Stephen F. Hayes of the Weekly Standard, a leading conservative Washington magazine.

I wouldn't worry, Dick
If he's not already on staff earning six-figures at some neocon hack think tank, I'm sure he'll be there soon.

Besides, it's not like the Democrats are really going to look into further allegations about Bush administration law breaking, given that most of their leadership were involved or passively complicit in it.

Go into retirement with the knowledge that as long as you don't travel to Europe, you should be fine.

Scarlett, Oh Scarlett
"sins.."..well, at least there is a discourse for the alledged "sins" from the Bush/Cheney administration..tell me, are you as eager and ready to shed the same level of heat and light on the "sins" of the Dem/Lib senators, congressmen, and Clinton Hacks that are slithering aound for Dem Governance Par Excellance' 3.0..I doubt it..that would require critical thinking, impartial assessment, and a political analysis..some thing the Media, Academia, and bloggers on the left illustrate with great clarity and conviction everyday they are INCAPABLE of...

I fear
with the nuts in charge that bush should have pardened every one in his administration and in every part of the cia as well for the nuts want to send everyone to prison I guess their idea of transfer of power is the same as in cuba or soviet union, jail the outgoing party and they can never come back into power its communism and facism at its disgusting and true reasoning.I say bush should have protected all he could from polosi and reed and the communist,er, democratic party.
curmudgeon writes: Thursday, January, 22, 2009 1:54 PM
guts
thats what it is all about. clinton had the guts to accept bribes to pardon notorious criminals. bush didnt even have the guts to do the right thing because it might offend some of his enemies. he didnt have to worry about offending his friends, he didnt have any, because he betrayed them throughout his presidency. yet the enemies whose boots he licked for 8 years still clamor for his hide.

"bush should have pardened every one in his administration and in every part of the cia as well"

He didn't dare. Once they'd been pardoned, they would be free to tell everything they know to investigators, grand juries, and the press. That, of course, would lead to him and Cheney.

BTW, was anyone else thrilled on Tuesday when Cheney staggered up from his wheelchair and yelled "Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!"?

"Mein Fuhrer, I can walk"
..Humor, Munck consists of content AND timing...we could debate the comedic worthiness of the content (actually having seen that movie just a week ago, it can illicit a grin..)..but the timing..well, that is not so appropriate..tell me..how would it feel to the Lefties and Leanies that we start cracking "brain tumor/Chapaquitic/karmic justice" jokes in Kennedy's dire dispostion?..again, such a tolorant/caring/sensitive bunch the Left and Leanies are...

no munckmush
he didnt because he actually believe he shouldnt have to, but the although his isnt stupid as you all want everyone to believe, he is nieve to believe that dems would actually follow honor and right, and not try to honorable americans in prison for doing their job, problem is you people dont have honor or loyality to any one or anything and will send innocent people to prison if you can just to "prove" you were right about the war.that aint reality that garbage and what your party seems to stand for and be comprised of.you will send this country into civil war if your far left crazies get their way on this, we will take back this country again, dont think it cant happen, your leaders may just make it vital and demanded that we have to.If polosi and reed cant fulfill their sworn obligation , which they dont believe is their job, and the voters in their states wont stop them, this country will rid itself of them if that be the only answer, they have to follow all the countries wants not just their own private ones , and wont be allowed to destroy this nation, not going to happen not even in the 21 century, we will fight for our way of life even against them.

Cheney wrenched his back moving boxes. Hardly equivalent to a brain tumor.

Lbbys sentence was commuted , he served no time ,but he deserved a pardon!

Ah, Munck the Judge of Suffering!
lol..well, perhaps that's true, but but he does have a serious heart condition..which no doubt doesnt stop the Left/Leaniers/and Lunitics from saying, printing, and broadcasting horrible and hateful, hurtful things about his health..tell, me, do you see that kind of comedic discourse, Letterman, Conan, Stewert, regarding Kennedy?..never..not in a million years with our present left complicate media..that is at least one thing I can agree with..now if they would have just been as sensitive as that with Reagan, Cheney, or any other conservative.

Pardon Scooter?
I'm sorry, but lying to the FBI in the course of a criminal investigation is a very serious crime. Frankly he didn't even deserve commutation.

Pardon Scooter?
If lying to the FBI in the course of a criminal investigation is a very serious crime - wow, how serious is lying under OATH to a Grand Jury! Mr. Hillary Clinton??!!

Concern for Jurisprudance..right!!
"I'm sorry, but lying to the FBI in the course of a criminal investigation is a very serious crime. Frankly he didn't even deserve commutation."

Is that same vehemet "serious" crime stuff apply to WJC when he lied under oath..oh, but according to Lanny Davis and all the other mainstream clinton apologists, that was just about "sex"..so its ok..now you are beginning to get it..in the public domain..as a paid public servant, LYING IS LYING!!..regardless what it is concerning, especially during a criminal proceding..so which one is it Left Logic Practionaers..if Scooter is in Jail, why isnt the 42nd President?
bryce1 writes: Thursday, January, 22, 2009 4:36 PM
LoL!!!
I repeat. Lying to the FBI in the course of an CRIMINAL investigation into the leaking of a CIA agent's identity is a serious crime.

I personally think it is absurb to make comparisons to a civil suit regarding sexual pecadillos, but that is not the point.

Again, Scooter deliberately mislead the FBI in the course of a criminal investigation dealing with what anyone would characterize as high crimes.
Joe writes: Thursday, January, 22, 2009 6:09 PM
Dick you might need the pardon
They are coming for you and Rummy!
Ryan01 writes: Friday, January, 23, 2009 8:40 AM
I wouldn't
worry about "Scooter". The Israelis with take good care of him, along with AIPAC officials Steve Rosen, Keith Weissman and convicted spy Ben-Ami Kadish with your tax dollars.

In any event, all of you "conservatives and Republicans" (said with Limbaughian reverence) shouldn't be upset over poor little Libby not getting a pardon. Libby was Marc Rich's attorney who helped get Rich his pardon from Bill Clinton.
heckofajob writes: Friday, January, 23, 2009 1:31 PM
Cheney is a criminal
Of course Cheney wants Libby pardoned.. Libby was the fall guy for Cheney.. Justice has not been served in this traitorous act of exposing a CIA agent as of yet..

Lets just hope that Cheney gets prosecuted for some of the many crimes he committed while VP of the United States..
