Obama's Disgraceful Friday Photo-Op

As of yesterday, President Obama was scheduled to spend Friday afternoon on Capitol Hill, rallying the troops for tomorrow House health care vote at 6:00pm. But following yesterday's tragic shooting at Fort Hood, it looks like plans have changed.
The White House schedule now says that the president will be making his trip to Capitol Hill tomorrow and visiting Walter Reed Army Medical Center--his first visit since taking office in January. According to the AP, White House officials are claiming the plans to visit Walter Reed before yesterday's shooting. But if this were true, why would the president be delaying his trip to Capitol Hill to go to Walter Reed? I doubt his schedulers double-booked him.
In addition, the White House is insisting the visit to Walter Reed has nothing to do with yesterday's shooting. Doubtful. The president is under fire today after his "frightening insensitivity" toward the Fort Hood shooting yesterday as he spoke before a group at the White House.
This whole situation is similar to his last military photo-op, saluting America's fallen soldiers as they returned home to rest. If it were to show gratitude and pay tribute to our military personnel, why not turn the cameras off? What kind of solemn reflection can one have with flashbulbs going off?
Undoubtedly, today's visit to Walter Reed will also include the WH press pool following behind the president. Obama's "spontaneous" visit to Walter Reed today is nothing more than a hollow, calculated political maneuver and photo-op and is disgraceful in light of the tremendous sacrifice our men and women in uniform make on a daily basis.

Obama cannot just go and throw a party on the Hill today so I won't bash Him on His visit. HOWEVER, we all know how He feels about our military personnel. They are sort of an annoyance to Him.
I just wanna give a SHOUT OUT to President Obama for doing the right thing and acknowledging that the troops are real human Americans afterall. |

Mr. Obama visiting the American Armed Forces is not unlike David Duke paying homage to the dead at the Yad Vashem Memorial.
Crocodile tears flowing from snake with teeth. |

you rag on him. You hate the man. So what? He's president. He's going to be president until 2017. |
|
You see nothing odd that obama has not visited Walter Reed in the ten months that he has been president, but decides to visit it the day after the shootings at Fort Hood?
Lonny, you cannot possibly be that dense. That partisan, maybe, but not that dense.
President until 2017? Not bloody likely, Buccaneer! (I doubt the democrats will even nominate him, for 2012!) |

the link and watch and hear the ineptitude from the supposedly smartest man in the world! He is so far out of his depth, it is really sad to see! |

After turning onto FNC to watch Mr. Beck's show, I was saddened to hear of the tragedy at Ft. Hood. As my husband is retired Army and my son is in the Mid-East on his third tour of duty, my heart went out to the men, women and families who give selflessly and sacrificially, day in and day out. Much to my dismay, I was confronted shortly afterwards by a 'Commander-in-chief' who seemed to have been unaware of the happenings within his command. When he finally got around to speaking of the shootings, he was not at all knowledgable about the situation. Well, at least he didn't jump in with both feet like he has in the past. I guess we should be grateful for that. My question to Mr. Obama is - 'I realize that you don't know how to lead the military, having had no experience in the Armed Forces, but do you have to make them seem like the enemy at times?' Just a thought.... |

has morphed into "Jimmah Clinton".
He possesses the worst traits of both of those clowns. |

Obama is not going to the Hill today because Piglousy has not finished twisting enough arms to get her vote through. Obama has to wait for tomorrow for the last push. As usual Obama has figured out a way to turn this terrible disaster into a photo op for himself. The fact that it took until last week for him to meet with the families of the soldiers who returned home in a casket, (photo op) and now to visit Walter Reed at this sad time, oh wait perfect time for a photo op shows a lot about the man. As the parent of a soldier I an extremely offended by how he uses our military but shows them no respect. |

You may have the title of CinC, but you are not. You're not. |

to see Obamao the traitor these days; especailly since he has repeatedly shown that he does not care about them. |
|
Because of this braindead statement, ~He's president. He's going to be president until 2017.~
you have completely lost all ability to reason; therefore I would recommend that you sign yourself into the nearest asylum for the irreversibly insane. You are a total whack job, and you couldn't be more wrong. Obamao will be out by or before 2012, possibley due to an impeachemnt by the enlightened masses who will eventually be able to remove their rose colored glasses and see the ineligible, unamerica imposter for what he is. |

Best not to engage Lonny/Septic/Kaboom. You are wasting time with an idiot. |

yeah but i got nothin else to do right now |

I dislike him about as much as anyone, and I am a little to the right of Gengis Khan. But I do believe he is doing the right thing in going to Walter Reed to visit troops today - so let's support him while he is doing the right thing for a change. Criticize him for his abominable actions yesterday, and for the "photo op" with the caskets last week, but let's actually admire him when he gets it right! |
|
Obama should have done the right thing a long time ago. He has had plenty of time to campaign, fund raise, play golf, have parties, date night, etc. His first priorities should have been to these soldiers. Far more important than what he has been doing. This is nothing but a timed photo op. If the events of yesterday had not happened how long do you think it would have taken for him to make this visit.
As the parent of a soldier no accolades from me, just disdain. |
