Gateway Pundit reports that the National Education Association (NEA) website recommends Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" as a teaching aid. No joke.
Here's a taste of the NEA's review of Alinsky's work:
“Radicals precipitate the social crisis by action – by using power. Liberals may then timidly follow along or else, as in most cases, be swept forward along the course set by Radicals, but all because of forces unloosed by Radical action. They are forced to positive action only in spite of their desires … * “The American Radical will fight privilege and power whether it be inherited or acquired by any small group, whether it be political or financial or organized creed.
* “He curses a caste system which he recognizes despite all patriotic denials.
* “He will fight conservatives whether they are business or labor leaders.
* “He will fight any concentration of power hostile to a broad, popular democracy, whether he finds it in financial circles or in politics.
* “The Radical recognizes that constant dissension and conflict is and has been the fire under the boiler of democracy. He firmly believes in that brave saying of a brave people, “Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!”
* “The Radical may resort to the sword but when he does he is not filled with hatred against those individuals whom he attacks. He hates these individuals not as persons but as symbols representing ideas or interests which he believes to be inimical to the welfare of the people.
* “That is the reason why Radicals, although frequently embarking upon revolutions, have rarely resorted to personal terrorism.” Alinsky practiced what he preached. He said, “Tactics means doing what you can with what you have … tactics is the art of how to take and how to give.”
And they are recommending this stuff to teachers who will be in the classroom instructing our children... oy.

Christians, conservatives: get your kids OUT of the public schools. |
Is there a single thing on Alinsky's list that has not been slavishly followed by Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, or Lee Atwater? |
I heard today that Salk and Mother Theresa are probably out of the history books but Oprah will be in. You are right get your kids out of these schools. |
Barry is not a left wing radical, Go to jail if you don't get health care. Now lets teach our kids to be more in line with Alinsky, seems fair to me, not. Being Un-American is a liberal thing. |
The silver lining is that the kids will know the 'rules' and as teens will turn it against the NEA, DEMs etc for a generation. There will be plenty of us who knew America when to remind them of all the prosperity and consumer goods we used to have, as did the kids when they were tots. Plus we will be able to point to Communist China and all their consumer swag produced under 'Free Market Communism'. Think the Boomers were/are a pain? Wait 'til the Millenials go Rad on the Stalinist Dems. Of course it probably won't go that far anyway. Read Kyle-Anne Shiver's column today at American Thinker for a preview of what's just around the corner. |

It seems like more and more this advice is strategic to dealing with DC at the moment like "Die on your feet than live on your knees."
The idiots that buy into this crap forget that they have no real idea of what to do once they become that which they hated.
Isnt that Ironic? As I just mentioned, The Left has now become that which they hated. Now what?
Ah, the genious of PT years ago...
There's nothing in the streets Looks any different to me And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye And the parting on the left Are now parting on the right And the beards have all grown longer overnight
I'll tip my hat to the new constitution Take a bow for the new revolution Smile and grin at the change all around Pick up my guitar and play Just like yesterday Then I'll get on my knees and pray We don't get fooled again Don't get fooled again

"Is there a single thing on Alinsky's list that has not been slavishly followed by Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, or Lee Atwater?"
You obviously are as clueless regarding this subject as you are regarding the concept of redistribution of wealth, which you equated to buying a Happy Meal. |
When I tell my kids to clean their rooms, they'll smear me in front of other kids at the next soccer game. Or when my wife tells me what the kids did while I was at work, they'll claim that my wife is not a "real mom". Or my kids will contact my boss and force him to take more out of my paycheck just for them because I haven't been paying them their "fair share". |

I always wondered why Rove spelled his name like that. He stole it from Mr. Marx? Well I thought those were his own tactics, From those who have. ME to those who don't. YOU. What exactly is wrong with a caste system anyhow? Everyone should know their place, stay behind the gate losers! |
...some posters are well-versed in the tactics already. Accuse your opponent of doing what you are currently doing. I guess they didn't read the one that says: “He will fight conservatives whether they are business or labor leaders."
How does Karl Rove fight conservatives? It's funny that when Alinsky wrote this tripe, labor unions weren't in bed with the lib's.

They're already teaching the Little Red Book. |
it be until your children are given a questionnaire every morning asking: How much did your parents drink last night? What news programs did they watch? Did they say anything bad about the President? Are your parents using the recycle bin? Have you ever seen your mom or dad exceed the speed limit? Big Brother is watching and listening. |
Hmm. They have not commented about what is here...nor the on the new report at Big Hollywood(Breitbart). Wow. Wonder where they are hiding? |
"Die on your feet than live on your knees." ... The idiots that buy into this crap."
Why do you call it "crap"? Would you rather live on your knees? Sounds like a militaristic call to action from Oliver North or Glenn Beck. |
