Up over here, with transcription.
Here's a sample of Rev. Jeremiah Wright speaking about Clinton:
I am sick of Negros who just do not get it. Hillary was not a black boy raised in a single parent home, Barack was. Barack knows what it means to be a black man living in a country and a culture that is controlled by rich, white people! Hillary can never know that. Hillary ain’t never been called a [n-expletive].

through the collection plate, paying for their travels, their salary, their home, listening to their sermons 20 years, fellowshipping with them "is" not the same as meaning you accept what they say. I guess I need to get a dictionary out and define the word "IS"--Again. |

of keeping the hate alive in America. It is people like this Rev. who keep feeding on the hatred he feels for whites from his youth growing up in a time that, I admit must have been hard, but America wants to go on. In my church we are tought to love everyone, just like Jesus sais in the bible, and everyone is welcome,we have a diverse congregation. |

This Rev is obviously part of a theology called Black Theology. It teaches that Jesus is only for the poor and oppressed, i.e. black people (the idea that blacks are inherently poor and oppressed is their idea and not mine). It started way back when but an influential book on the idea is:
James H. Cone, God of the Oppressed (New York: Seabury Press, 1975
It is fundamentally flawed in many ways. Preachers of this theology use the cross to divide rather than unite.
However, the unspoken reality is that, traditionally, whites have not reached out and shown a willingness to unify in church either. Things are getting better - s l o w l y. Black pastors like Rev Wright use this separation as an excuse to preach this false idea of who Jesus is and what He's about. |

Oh, I see Great Patriot beat me to it...!

He also claims in that video that Jesus was a black man living in a rich, white society. I don't know what Jesus he is talking about, but the one I worship was Jew. So when Obama, who claims he prays every night to Jesus, says he is a "christian" is he following the Jesus of the Bible, or the Afro-centric black man. Mr. Wright talks about how he can relate to Jesus and that he is thankful he believes in a god who understands what it's like to be a black man repressed in a white society. What he fails to mention to his minions applauding and amen-ing his every word is that Jesus was prophesied to live where he lived, and to die for our sins according to the scriptures. He was not a poor, black man lost and relegated to the back of the bus in the rich, white man's world. "I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed." (Galatians 1:6-9) |

HRC is running around right now trying to find someone to call her the n-word. |

for the neo Kommies to show up turning this into either 1) it's Bush's fault,or 2) it's really the neo cons who are the despicable racists. |

I understand being resentful at being mistreated but it would be better if the good Rev was specific and timely. These days the only people calling black folks the n-word to their face and often are other black folk. And they have a whole industry built around demeaning the black image. And until Rev Wright recognizes that black on black crime doesn't have a thing to do with Whitey, he will be filled with rage. The prisons don't fill themselves for no good reason. His viewpoint represents a mass psychological problem and worldview that those who can't cut it in the Greatest Country of All Time cling to. Too bad. Barack has risen because he has rejected that viewpoint, at least publicly. |
