Unhinged Liberals at Obama Rallies
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 4:37 PM
Just over the past few days Obama-supporting liberals who hate Palin-McCain have:

-Spray painted "Republican means slavery" at a South Carolina GOP headquarters
-Thrown gasoline-filled beer bottles at a McCain supporter's home to burn a McCain sign in Oregon
-Worn t-shirts calling Palin an unprintable word in Philadelphia

How could this be?
I thought it was McCain who was whipping his followups into dangerous frenzies? These attacks must have been done by Republicans to make the Dems look bad!

No. Its the crazy left who are committing the violence, not the right.

I'm not worried, though. Liberals don't have guns. I have a lot of them. Bring it on.

Rage is the hallmark of the far left
Rev. Wright, Ayers, Cindy Sheehan, Code Pink, La Raza, anyone who burns the flag, calls Bush a terrorist, calls for his death.
Anyone who disrespects our troops and vets. Haters. They hate everything we are.

America has become so accustomed to the lunatic haters on the left, they don't commit any of it to memory. And then they accuse other of the very thing that they practice.

The so called Uniter is winning by hook and crook, which is frustrating the solid citizens for the real deal McCain1 We are angry at the apparent voters cheating, the non objective, biased liberal media and the untruths against a sincere Sarah and John. Of course Conservs and Repubs will be blamed for it. The part of what they done isn't funny, but, it won't stop there, just hold on to your seat folks there is more to come. The true colors will show Brightly for all to see!

I'm soooo tired of this right-wing, left-wing nonsense. John McCain is NOT a racist. Barack Obama is NOT a Marxist. Sarah Palin is NOT a witch hunter. Joe Biden has REALLY WHITE TEETH.

How come none of these people are talking about education. Look. If people get a better public education. People get better jobs. They make more money. They can make their mortgage payments etc.

If people were educated properly they won't call Sarah Palin the thing that rhymes with shunt, and they wouldn't bring monkey dolls with Obama stickers on them.

All of this partisan nonsense distracts us from the fact that we're raising a generation that is LESS prepared for the world than the one before it. I taught English for a year. Trust me.

I hope you didn't forget that there are more people in our government to make decisions than just a president and vp, you still have a corrupt people like Pelosi, Reid and others to stop anything from changing in government. That's why I like Bobby Jindal. I think he's a fair man who can balance reason with his Christian beliefs. Maybe Palin can as well and I REALLY hope I see more of her than conservative radio interviews and rallies. MEET THE PRESS? I'll take that.

I think Rachel Maddow would give her a more fair shake than she thinks. Rachel's not like Keith Olbermann. I've seen her with conservatives on her show and she's pretty fair and certainly not a bully.

If Obama can do Bill O. Sarah can do Rachel M.

I have to disagree about Biden. I think he's waaaaaaay more left than Obama. I've never heard him speak the words "Ronald" or "Reagan".

To me, it seems that Obama is a staunch pragmatist. McCain is more idealistic. That's the decision in my head. Pragmatism vs. Idealism.

Every young person has the opportunity to get an education some more than others have opportunities that others can't get, unless that child wants and education, unless those parents want their children to get educated you can spend a million dollars on them and it won't help, Its like having a drug addiction, if you don't want help you will always be an addict. I think parents should have the right to send their children to whatever school they want, and most parents would choose teachers who care about children! There is way to much fear in the schools anymore, too much fighting, gangs, drugs, etc. Parents don't raise their kids like they used , parents have lost interest. I think this all stems from taking out rules and regulations out of the system. YOu will bounce all around and find all kinds of reasons for this happening and you will never put a finger on it Bryan, because in my mind you don't have an open mind to all things that would help.
Sorry to say that, but I feel I am right.
Its about education its not about rights!
I want students to care and respect schools as much as the teacher does.

None of these things happened at Obama rallies.

None of these things were done in direct response to goading by the candidates.

I hope they throw the book at the vandals and the arsonists. (I don't support arresting people for wearing t-shirts). But this is hardly comparable to people screaming terrorist, or kill him, as they are being stoked by the candidates on stage. The McCain campaign is intimating Obama is a terrorist, is distributing information saying he's a Muslim--I think that the campaign itself is dangerously close to incitement.

I think the Secret Service did, too, and I think they asked McCain to try to tamp it down.

Rumors are very destructive things. Rumors started months ago about Obama and I have heard that he is a muslim and the antichrist as well as anti american. What kind of person spreads this kind of thing? People who are afraid. People who are afraid of change or maybe the color of his skin. I have read down the list of posts and it is sad some of the things I read. I think McCain made a very unwise choice in picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. I don't think she intended to do this but I think she has inflamed things. She crossed a line and opened Pandora's box. Those of us who are reasonable need to preach keeping to the issues of education, healthcare, the economy, the war etc. We need to teach them on both sides to fight fair.

"Most liberal legislator in HISTORY?" Not even just one of the most liberal senators in the current congress, but way, way beyond that.

"Can you refute that?"

Sure. Paul Wellstone was a lot more liberal. Bobby Kennedy, Russ Feingold, Patrick Leahy, George McGovern, Hubert Humphrey. Heck, Bernie Sanders is an actual socialist, calls himself that.

You folks on the right fringes always call the Democratic candidate the "most liberal EVAH." The thing you don't seem to realize is that we see that as a good thing; your argument will only be seen as negative by people already on your side.

First, just because someone is pro choice does not make them pro abortion. So many far right people are so black and white in their thinking, which of course has been Bush's problem all along. He couldn't think out of the box. Pro choice for me means that the only person who can make the decision about a baby is the mother who is carrying it. Now about rumors, I was referring to the crazy forwards I have been getting for months about Obama being a Muslim and about him not putting his hand over his heart for pledge etc. As for Sarah Palin she can say all she wants about the issues, but she inferred more than that with some of her statements. As I understand it, they have been pressured to stop this. Thank goodness. Her lovely smile conceals a very dangerous person with a pitbulls heart.

One can't be pro-choice without being pro-abortion as abortion is one of the choices. It is simply axiomatic. Now being pro-choice does not mean one has to mean leaning toward abortion but with to many activists that is exactly the case. Many groups actively push abortion. Planned Parenthood is PROUD of the numbers of babies they have aborted or helped to get aborted! I do not agree with Palin on her abortion stance, she is to the rigth of me (which is hard to do) but her stance is more palitable to Obama's, which is to allow late term abortions and to dump live babies into trash cans and let them die.

'it's my impression that attacks from the right are much more frequent. Do you have any statistics showing differently?'

Do you have any statistics supporting your impression? At the moment I am going by the number of stories reported. No violence should be tolerated from either side. But it wasn't McCain who extolled his followers to get in people's faces. That is advising aggressive behavior. If someong gets aggressive with me they are likely to get dead. This isn't from some desire on my part to hurt someone, I have walked away from many confrontations, but I won't allow myself or any of my loved ones to be harmed. While I don't believe that Obama wants his people to commit violent acts he has certainly given them the okay to at least be assertive and things can certainly get out of hand very quickly. What would happen if someone walked up to you on the street to urge you to vote for McCain and you informed them that you were an Obama supporter and then you turned to walk away and they grabbed your arm? Not grab you to hurt you but just to get you to wait and talk to them? I know what I would do and it would end badly for them.

Well, I have never heard Obama say he wanted to dump babies in trash cans and let them die. This is just dramatic anti abortion talk. Most of us people in the middle are just saying it is NOT our business to decide for a woman who is carrying a child. Why can't you people hear that??????????? If it were up to me, I would make a third position so that far right people would realize what we are saying. No one knows the circumstances of a mother except the mother herself. What's next Mary? What about that poor man that can't deal with his wife anymore? Have any sympathy for him? Obama voted against BAIPA in Illinois. The act would have assured that babies born alive during a late term abortion would be classified as a person and treated thusly. This bill came about because it was disclosed that in a hospital in Illinois that babies born alive during late term abortions were being dumped in trash cans and left in dirty utility rooms to die. This is documented. Obama has no problems with this practice as he voted against the bill.

Sorry, you're not going to get me or the general public upset about this. Obama has received $450,000,000 from 2,500,000 donors. Contributions of 0.001% of that total from 0.4% of the donors are evidence of imperfect accounting, not corruption. Do you really think that someone is bribing Obama to change his policies with a $3,000 contribution? That would be like a sheriff who makes $62,000 a year being bribed to let a criminal go free with two quarters, a dime, and two pennies.

Obama is just too much of a liar, misleading us on some things and just lying about others. Latest ad says his political career was first launched at a Ramada hotel, yet too many report and know it was in William Ayers home. Obama's latest ad says "William Daley" was appointed Secretary of Commerce and that was approved by John McCain. So? AYERS is the culprit, not DALEY. Trying to mislead us on the "Williams". Obama went to a mosque to pray with his step-father for many years(Obama has said the call to evening prayer is so beautiful), doing that is honoring thy father and mother, yet he denies it ever occurred. What is he afraid of??
He is just as much WHITE as he is black, yet he chooses to be the "black candidate" and the only mention of race is by Obama and his campaign.

Excuse me please but I didn't call you ignorant but thank you for reminding me why I don't care for far right people for the most part. I was raised in a far right community and as I have matured I have learned that rigid statements by rigid people cause polarizing as we have seen with the Bush administration. Someone else mentioned convenience and killing babies etc and like I said I fall in the middle on this because I happen to think people take dramatic stances and don't consider the circumstances. Personally I don't believe in abortion for convenience but that has to be the mother's decision not mine. I can tell you this much and that I didn't go into menopause until two years ago at 56 and if I had gotten pregnant I would surely have had an abortion at my age because of health issues as well as age. That would need to be my decision because of my own situation. Call it what you want but I think it is more about responsibility.

Open your minds and hearts..........
As I said before, I was raised as a far right person and went to a very far right college and didn't start changing until my children helped me to see things differently. I also started hanging around more thoughtful open gals in my dinner club who were very instrumental in my becoming less rigid myself. My group has several catholics and a Jewish gal as well as a Jehovah witness and a Korean. It is so much better to start listening to others opinions and learning from them and their experiences instead of staying in a closed environment with no free thinking. The key is diversity. Get out and listen to something besides all of this far right stuff. Get both sides of the stories. I am not saying that the left is right anymore than I am saying that this far right stuff is right. I am a hair left of center and I like it that way. I was once told that we need both extremes in life in order to come to the middle. A wise professor at a Free Methodist college told me that.
