John McCain, leader - Barack Obama, wanna-be
Posted by: Mike Gallagher at 7:22 AM
I have never been prouder of John McCain.

This economic crisis puts the leadership qualities of both Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama on full display for all the world to see.

John McCain made a decision to do his job.  After all, like Obama, he is a sitting U.S. Senator.    McCain announced that he's suspending his campaign, heading to Washington and doing everything he can to help get this economic calamity fixed.

Sen. Obama wants to put on the make-up and and smile pretty for the TV cameras in Oxford, Mississippi, site of tomorrow night's scheduled debate.

What a dramatic difference between these two men.   John McCain is a natural leader, Barack Obama is a wanna-be.

Obama isn't even exactly sure when the next president's duties begin.  Last night, he referenced the fact that the next commander-in-chief will be "making decisions" in "about 40 days."

Someone needs to get him a copy of the Constitution.   News flash, Sen. Obama:  the next president doesn't go to work until January.

But in any event, it is gratifying to see John McCain shine like this.   God forbid he backs down and winds up at the debate Friday night.   That would be a disaster.

Let Obama continue to play politics, fiddling while Wall Street burns.  The American people are getting a rare look at the stark contrast between these two men.

Bravo, Sen. McCain.   You have trumped your opponent simply by insisting on putting America first and doing the job you were elected to do.

That's what a leader does.

Economy Solution
Here`s a novel idea, how about the Government give tax breaks to business and corporations for hiring and training new employee`s instead of raising their taxes. This would be a jobs program that would benefit everyone.

On the housing crisis do away with all subprime mortgages and put them on fixed rate ones and if need be extend them to 35 or 40 years. The plan O`Bama has is totally unfair to all of us who worked hard all our lives to obtain the now thanks to the politicians long dead American Dream. I was going to retire this year but now I can`t as over 1/2 the value of my IRA`s is gone. I started working when I was 11 and now at 62 I`m tired and after 1 spinal fusion and another one needed I now consider myself and most of my generation to what I call " The work till we drop generation"

What I learned from this past election is this countries voters were the biggest morons this nation has ever seen. This like you would say is how I got there.
The Clinton administration were the ones who started this downward spiral with our economy when they pushed for these subprime mortgages. They belived that anyone should be able to own a home whether they could afford one or not. Their cohorts who as I call it conspired to destroy our economy to name a few were Senator`s Chris Dodd, Harry Read, Nancy Peloisi, and Rep.Barney Franks. Yes lets not forget President O`Bama. Dodd & O`Bama received the largest what I call kickbacks from Freddie Mack or Fannie Mae can`t remember which one. They all knew what was coming especially in 2005 when Senator McCain tried to bring this problem to the attention of the nation and the Democrats shut it down. The above named people and more were successful in hiding this disaster from coming to light. The moronic voters re-elected the same people who are responsible for this fiasco.

JUST BECAUSE
A word of encouragement can make the difference between giving up and going on....

Because He's Black

This older white guy asked his older black friend, 'Are you voting for Barack Obama just because he's black'? So the older black guy fires back and says, 'Are you not voting for him because he's black? Why can't I vote for him just cause he's black? Hell in this country men are pulled over everyday just cause they are black, passed over for promotions just cause they are black, considered to be criminals just cause they are black, but you don't seem to have a problem with that. This country was built with the sweat and whip off the slaves back, and now a descendent of those same slaves has a chance to lead the same country where we wasn't even considered to be people, Where we weren't allowed to be educated, drink from the same water fountains, eat in the same restaurants, or even vote, so you damn right I'm going to vote for him!
Not just because he's black, But because he is hope, he is change, and he now allows me to understand when my grandson says he wants to be president when he grows up, it is not a fairy tale but a short term goal, Because he sees, understand, and knows, he can achieve, withstand, and do anything just because he's black!

And pass it on..... JUST BECAUSE

McCain Leads us into War, Deregulation..
Obama is a wanna-be leader who wants to end the Iraqi occupation, redistribute tax breaks to the middle class and encourage alternative energy development. He is right in line with the American people who prefer these things too. McCain has truly led us already, into extending the Iraq war so we can get to a point where we can say "we won" regardless of the cost. His lifelong campaign for deregulation has imploded and now U.S. workers have to bail out the failed investment banks. He led us against torture, but then said it was okay to get elected. He led on Bush's tax cuts, changing his mind several times on the issue. He has led us to where we are now - worse off then ever before. I feel bad for my kids who must shoulder the deficit our generation has passed onto them. Let's give a would-be leader a chance instead, especially someone with a sensible plan to represent the wishes of the majority of Americans.

The list of reasons why Obama is SO utterly wrong for this country is too long to mention, but the events this past week should bring into sharp focus the stark contrast between McCain, the LEADER and Obama, the-they'll-call-me-if- they-need-me fraud.

PALIN: Well, it certainly does because our-- our next door neighbors are foreign countries. They're in the state that I am the executive of. And there in Russia--

COURIC: Have you ever been involved with any negotiations, for example, with the Russians?

PALIN: We have trade missions back and forth. We-- we do-- it's very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia as Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where-- where do they go? It's Alaska. It's just right over the border. It is-- from Alaska that we send those out to make sure that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia, because they are right there. They are right next to-- to our state.

The one thing that a leader dare not do in a time of crisis is panic. By panicking, John Senile McCain has made the "crisis" appear worse than it is; panic only makes economic crises worse.

[TWO POUND] Absolutely not. The fact that Obama doesn't understand how serious this is isn't McCain fault. After all, McCain can't teach Obama everything. I still expect a debate even if is is by satellite or if they wind up sending Sarah Palin to debate Obama. So count us as mystified by Senator John McCain's decision yesterday to suspend his campaign and call for a postponement in Friday's first Presidential debate so that he and Barack Obama can work out a consensus bill to stabilize the financial system. This is supposed to be evidence of leadership?"

[TWO POUND]
Yes it is. The Dems won't pass anything without Republican support even according to Pelosi. McCain is the only Republican who can get the nay-sayers in our party to get something done. He is absolutely and undoubtedly needed in Washington. Even Harry Reid said that Tuesday before his fellow Dems gave him a spanking trying to avoid McCain intervention. After all, now that he is showing leadership the Dems are afraid of even more fallout in McCain's favor.
Rosemary writes: Thursday, September, 25, 2008 1:13 PM
All the talk
doesn't matter much - McCain did the right thing - the financial crisis we are facing is a major problem that needs the attention of our leaders. If this matter is left to the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd - we are in trouble - there is no second guessing this matter. The Dems are the people that would not hear of a mortgage only going to qualified people. Hence, probably half of our population is upside down on loans ranging from mortgages to expensive automobiles. Therefore, banks are holding paper that is not backed by substantial equity. Bush cautioned about this and so did McCain. Barney Frank would not near of Freddie and Fannie having more oversight - no, no, no - housing had to be available to low income people - bankers took that one step more and gave loans to no income people.
McCain - as leader of the Republican party should be in Washington to LEAD.
Obama - should be in Washington - "call me if you need me" is not exactly the words of a true leader. Obama says he can do a couple of things at one time - but heaven forbid he should be taken away from debate prep -and more than that his empty suit is already pressed.
angel66 writes: Thursday, September, 25, 2008 1:10 PM
The WSJ disagrees with Mike:
"Last we checked, the President of the United States was still George W. Bush, the Secretary of the Treasury was still Henry Paulson, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve was still Ben Bernanke, and Congress still had 533 members not running for President who are at least nominally competent to debate and pass legislation.

So count us as mystified by Senator John McCain's decision yesterday to suspend his campaign and call for a postponement in Friday's first Presidential debate so that he and Barack Obama can work out a consensus bill to stabilize the financial system. This is supposed to be evidence of leadership?"

Don't actions speak louder than words? I believe so. And when confronted with a national crisis, McCain jumps in with both feet and takes action. Obama, on the other hand, sat in the shadows and continued doing his homework for a speech. Sort of a "let them eat cake" move don't you think?

I will give Obama credit for recognizing that if congress needed his input, they could just call. Obviously, the Democratic leaders concluded that they did not want his help (probably not very useful, you know). Getting up to speed on your homework on how to be President was more important.

I’m not falling for your talking points
I do not care if a candidate is a war hero, I do not care is a candidate is a republican or a democrat. I do not care is a candidate is black or white. All I care about is if the candidate is intelligent enough to get this nation out of the mess we are in now.

I am an Arizona Republican but I will not be voting for John McCain. Why? Because, with the problems in the US and the world is facing today the nation needs intelligence in the White House.

Lets see my choice is John McCain or that smart black man Barack Obama?

McCain who does not know how to use a computer but is willing to learn if we elect him – I’ll just vote for that smart black man.

My Choices are: John McCain who says the economic downturn is psychological? - Na! I'll vote for the smart black man.

McCain who says you are better off under George Bush? - Nope I'll vote for the smart black man.

Mc Cain who wants to continue killing more people looking for weapons of mass destruction that do not exist? - Gee! I'll vote for the smart black man.

McCain who believes that we should stay the course but is not willing to support the people he puts in harms way. - I'll take a chance on the smart black man.

Should I vote for a man that does not know that 9-11 was caused by Osama Bin Laden not Sedam Hussein? - Easy! I'll vote for the smart black man.

Vote for the man who does not know if the Sunnis or Sheits are our enemies? - No way I'll vote for the smart black man.

Vote for the man who helped put our government on the China, Saudi Arabia credit card? - Not a chance I'll vote for the smart black man.

Vote for the man with the worst temper in the Senate to have his finger on the nuclear button? - No way - I’M VOTING FOR THE SMART BLACK MAN, Barack Obama.

I see a lot of people bickering, and that is exactly why I still do not know who I will vote for. Why is the negatives in the candidates relevant. It is the positive qualities in each candidate that we as Americans should look at and vote on those good qualities that would lead our country to better days. Bickering amongst ourselves only brings more division and it makes me wonder why we call our country the United States of America. When we name call and put down others for their opinion, it only shows that we are a weak group of people who are totally clueless. America was strong, but that is no longer the case.

One candidate sees that there are times when partisanship must be set aside. One candidate would rather use a crisis for the sake of partisanship.

One candidate does what is best for the American people. One candidate does what is best for his campaign.

without throwing lies and filth in and they also don't seem able to do their own homework, which is not surprising, considering the sorry state of the public school system these days.

McCain is the one who tried to get oversight on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac three years ago, along with people like Dole from the Senate Banking Committee. Bush tried it five years ago, it was *some* Democrats who blocked it, not all.

Let's try and keep the facts in mind here, if at all possible. Both parties had a hand in this and it's time campaigners dropped it. Bush asked both McCain and Obama to meet, because they are the two nominees and one of them will be the next president.

What you kids also don't understand is that this crisis could lead to a total collapse and McCain thinks that is more important than some camera opportunity, we have been watching him for over 20 years and are familiar with how he works.

R

1. During the Clinton Administration, the Dems pushed for legislation to relax the rules on loan qualifications;

2. In 2005 Greenspan, McCain, and the Bush administration warned, recommended and pushed for better monitoring/oversite and accountability of the two FM's. Because they didnt get it passed (Dems voted against it), the more riskier loans were packaged into investments and sold to other financial institutions (in the US and around the world). If there had been more oversite, they wouldnt have been allowed to do this; thus keeping the problem within the US and not affecting the global market.

3. In 2005 and later, FM and FM reported major discrepencies in their accounting. hmmmmm....while Rains and Johnson took millions based on profits calculated from cooked books.

4. You can argue the politics of McCains recent decision, but its action versus rhetoric anyway you look at it and BHO is just upset because it messes up the 3 days he set aside to prepare for the debate, which McCain doesnt need to prepare for.

5. Obama has never been a leader and never demonstrated leadership skills, and reiterated that in his press appearance yesterday.

The wheels are coming off, not just off of Grandpa's campaign but off of the entire philosophy of rethuglican (non)governance. How hard it must be for the bedwetters to see their grand visions of the New American Century come crashing to the ground. It couldn't have happened to a nicer philosophy.

Bush did not stab McCain in the back
McCain was standing out there and Bush came out and stood with him. Obama coming to Washington is a victory of sorts for McCain.

Plus the secret of the Paulson plan, it may make very big money for the Government. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122230704116773989.html

Too bad ...
... President Bush stabbed McCain in the back and gave Obama cover for coming to Washington.
... the media will spin this against McCain in all forms possible.
