Can a Non RNC Member be Chair?

The rules allow for it, but if this is any indication, there is some resistance to electing a chairman who is not an RNC member.

... Or are we going to see a compromise solution -- the "general chairman" model -- where a high-profile spokesman is teamed with a behind-the-scenes pol?

Oh yeah, like the RNC membership has done a great job steering this boat! I have found some Democratic cockroaches within the GOP, and if I found a couple, you can believe the house is overrun with them. Anyone in the RNC advocating dropping social conservatives should receive a pink slip. Anyone propping up RINO's in Congress should receive a pink slip. RNC, this is a shot across the bow. You have two choices, you can stay in your position of fear and make decisions on what you think is politically expedient and find yourself in 3rd party status. OR You can return to the foundations of Reagan conservatism, kick out the RINO's do a thorough house cleaning and stand on principle.
