More Waterboarding: Steve Harrigan on Fox
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 2:57 PM

"The thing that impressed me was just how quickly you can recover...Just minutes later, I was standin by the side of that pool feeling fine."

There's more stress evident in this one than in the Current TV clip, but Harrigan still delivers his report fairly smoothly and is fine within minutes. If that's what prevents attacks on the Library Tower, I'm for it.

Attack on the Library Tower
Being from Los Angeles, that part of the post really interested me. I'm glad we got the intel, and I've got no problem with known bad guys like that being waterboarded. But, from what I understand, the planned attack was supposed to happen as a follow-up to 9/11 and had been aborted, due to quick beef-up of U.S. security, before Sheik Mohammud was ever captured. So, while it is an example of where those techniques are acceptable (known high-level bad guys), that particular piece of info didn't actually save any lives.

On a related note, just how moronic do our enemies think we are? Did they think that we'd be attacked, and just go "la-la-la" about our merry way and not take countermeasures? They had the same logic with the plan to blow up the British airliners. They planned to attack in three waves, each separated by a few days. Even if they had succeeded with the first attack, NO WAY would the 2nd and 3rd waves have worked. Security would have clamped down "tighter than a choirboy's bum". I guess they had the same opinion of the English security response. Quite frankly, I'm a little insulted.

Uhh, no. I was just quoting what he said about his experience. I thought it was pretty clear what he was referring to, and it was not the part of the interview where he's in suit and tie.

waterboarding
you don't seriously think he went from waterboarding to finishing his report in suit and tie in a few minutes, do you? The biggest problem with this 'test' is that the 'prisoner' had control over the time they actually tortured him. Hardly a fair test.
