Please, God, let Obama keep talking about tires from now until November.
And please let Obama keep insulting those who have concluded that tire inflation is not an energy policy.
I think Allen Colmes may have been miffed with me on tonight's show when I said as much, but the contrast between the uber-serious John McCain and the dilettante from Chicago's South Side is never more obvious than when the latter is lecturing America on tire care.
Unless when it is talking about the war against the jihadists, the war McCain wants to win and which Obama is pledged to forfeit.
Obama already has a running mate --named Pelosi. He and she don't care what you pay at the pump and have no realistic plan to drive that price down. Since McCain and the House GOP began demanding drilling, the cost of oil has plummeted.
Any vote for any Congressional Democrat is a vote for Pelosi as Speaker.
Every voter ought to be seeing Nancy Pelosi's face every time they fill up at the pump. She simply does not care what you are paying for gas. And Obama-Pelosi will not change if they win in November.
Imagine what the price at the pump would be if both of America's major parties were in favor of finding and using America's vast energy resources.

It's liberals who want the government to tell them what to do, and then to do it for them. That's why liberals are now stopping at filling stations and checking their tire pressure for the first time ever. In a week or two, they'll go back and discover that their gas mileage improved! Barack was right! What a hero!
Obama reminds me of one of those loudmouth smart kids in junior high. They wake up every day thinking they know everything. Then, when they actually learn something new, they assume that they discovered the information, and nobody else knows it. So, they have to tell everybody about it, over and over and over and over.
Well, Senator O, this Fascinating Fact about proper tire inflation is not a new, startling revelation. It's none of the above. Competent people everwhere already take proper care of their cars. So, this qualifies you to be the leader of the incompetent.

Hugh is so busy calling Obama's statements "ridiculous" that he never bothers to actually refute them with real data (takes too much time away from the ad hominem attacks)...take a look at this quote from Time Magazine, which uses the Bush Administration's own figures to show that Obama's statement on tire inflation is as the very least a reasonable opinion:
"But who's really out of touch? The Bush Administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 bbl. per day by 2030. We use about 20 million bbl. per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now. Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%. Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone did, we could immediately reduce demand several percentage points. In other words: Obama is right."

I keep my tires inflated properly. That hasn't changed the inflated price of gas. In fact, it has absolutely no effect on the price. It never will. More importantly, no matter how I treat my tires, OPEC will have a big hand in determining the price at the pump. While my ride will no doubt be smoother and more energy efficient, "tiny" countries like Iran can still pose a "serious threat" to out national security by cutting off our oil. Unlike my tires, our strategic reserve cannot be refilled with air. Unless we learn how to replenish the reserve OURSELVES, we will remain incredibly vulnerable. Drilling here and now will also take the air OUT of oil futures, driving the price down even more. By my gauge, that's a pretty good thing. |

The surprise came during a telephone town hall meeting McCain held on Tuesday with voters in Pennsylvania.
“Obama said a couple of days ago says we all should inflate our tires. I don’t disagree with that. The American Automobile Association strongly recommends it,” McCain said.
Next thing you know, McCain might say he believes in evolution, unlike the rest of you idiots.

When John Zogby has to explain a 10 point swing in a thirty period that involved saturation coverage and adulation of The One, someone on Obama Air needs to be asking hard questions, but what do we get? A lecture on tune ups and the Cheney gaff (see above), which the 527's are going to mock him with because McCain voted AGAINST the bill that BHO and Cheney were for!

What you don't understand is that when DP maintains his car that is "personal responsibility". When he pays his taxes he expects the people he gives that money to fix the potholes in his road and everyone elses. Paying his tax is the personal responsibility part you clutz. The fixing of the pothole is the service he pays for.
To say he stood on the shoulders of others to get where his now is insulting...explain EXACTLY what you mean by that. There are whole groups of slum dwellers in Chicago that might say the same about your boy BO.
And lets compare - how much tax did you pay last year? C'mon, inquiring minds want to know just how much you threw in the pot. I have a feeling it wasn't enough to pay to fix one pothole. Do you even have a job or are you just living on the shoulders of others?

It would be very apropos for Obama to create a brand new, "AIR PRESSURE AGENCY".
Replete with its own Czar, it would set federal standards for optimal air pressure in all climatic conditions---but---it would also be charged with policing this edict.
"Check-Point Charlie's" could be established near all major highways and byways. Think of the "job creation" alone?
Tens of thousands of new government workers would be needed for "air specialist" positions. The fines levied for those determined negligent would raise untold millions to fund new programs for Obama's administration.

I saw the clip on FoxNews.So we should be able to find them both somewhere. John McCain needs to get both gals'saying it in a new ad. It would be devastating.

It is by the grace of God that I am what I am, not from standing on your shoulders or anyone else's.
I pay the taxes I am legally obligated to pay, which, amounting to the low six figures, I believe is way more than my "fair share".
I also believe that God blessed me so that I can bless others, so I give 10% of my income to charities, to house and feed homeless women and children, fund recovery programs for addicts, and keep "at-risk" kids in faith-based activities and off the streets.
Because I am a Christian, I assume, you will view all of this as somehow evil. So, I'll waste no more thought on you. |
