Democrats by the Numbers

Here are just some of the numbers in scandals involving Democrats:
$34,000: the amount of federal taxes that Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner (D) failed to pay during his employment at the International Monetary Fund despite receiving extra compensation and explanatory brochures that described his tax liabilities.
$75,000: the amount of money that the head of the powerful tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was forced to report on his taxes after the discovery that he had not reported income from a Costa Rican rental property. His excuses for the failure started with blaming his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he didn't speak Spanish.
$93,000: the amount of petty cash each Congressional representative voted to give themselves in January 2009 during the height of an economic meltdown. $133,900: the amount Fannie Mae "invested" in Chris Dodd (D-CT), head of the powerful Senate Banking Committee, presumably to repel oversight of the GSE prior to its meltdown. Said meltdown helped touch off the current economic crisis. In only a few years time, Fannie also "invested" over $105,000 in then-Senator Barack Obama.
$140,000: the amount of back taxes and interest that Cabinet nominee Tom Daschle (D) was forced to cough up after the vetting process revealed significant, unexplained tax liabilities.
$356,000: the approximate amount of income and deductions that Daschle (D) was forced to report on his amended 2005 and 2007 tax returns after being caught cheating on his taxes. This includes $255,256 for the use of a car service, $83,333 in unreported income, and $14,963 in charitable contributions.
$800,000: the amount of "sweetheart" mortgages Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide Financial, the details for which he has refused to release details despite months of promises to do so. Countrywide was once the nation's largest mortgage lender and linked to Government-Sponsored Entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Their meltdown precipitated the current financial crisis. Just days ago in Pennsylvania, Countrywide was forced to pay $150,000,000 in mortgage assistance following "a state investigation that concluded that Countrywide relaxed its underwriting standards to sell risky loans to consumers who did not understand them and could not afford them."
$1,000,000: the estimated amount of donations by Denise Rich, wife of fugitive Marc Rich, to Democrat interests and the William J. Clinton Foundation in an apparent quid pro quo deal that resulted in a pardon for Mr. Rich. The pardon was reviewed and blessed by Obama Attorney General and then Deputy AG Eric Holder, despite numerous requests by government officials to turn it down. $12,000,000: the amount of TARP money provided to community bank OneUnited despite the fact that it did not qualify for funds, and was "under attack from its regulators for allegations of poor lending practices and executive-pay abuses." It turns out that Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), a key contributor to the Fannie Mae meltdown, just happens to be married to one of the bank's ex-directors.
$23,500,000: The upper range of net worth Rep. Allan Mollohan (D-WV) accumulated in four years time according to The Washington Post through earmarks of "tens of millions of dollars to groups associated with his own business partners."
$2,000,000,000: ($2 billion) the approximate amount of money that House Appropriations Chairman David Obey (D-WI) is earmarking related to his son's lobbying efforts. Craig Obey is "a top lobbyist for the nonprofit group" that would receive a roughly $2 billion component of the "Stimulus" package.
$3,700,000,000: ($3.7 billion) not to be outdone, this is the estimated value of various defense contracts awarded to a company controlled by the husband of Rep. Diane Feinstein (D-CA). Despite an obvious conflict-of-interest as "a member of the Military Construction Appropriations subcommittee, Sen. Feinstein voted for appropriations worth billions to her husband's firms ."
$4,190,000,000: ($4.19 billion) the amount of money in the so-called "Stimulus" package devoted to fraudulent voter registration ACORN group under the auspices of "Community Stabilization Activities". ACORN is currently the subject of a RICO suit in Ohio.
$1,646,000,000,000 ($1.646 trillion): the approximate amount of annual United States exports endangered by the "Stimulus" package, which provides a "Buy American" stricture. According to international trade experts, a "US-EU trade war looms", which could result in a worldwide economic depression reminiscent of that touched off by the protectionist Smoot-Hawley Act.
As you see, it's a pattern of corruption by Democrats that mostly goes ignored by the main stream media. We hear from people like Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) say how these men like Daschle and Geithner are "honorable" men who just made a "mistake." Imagine if you and I didn't pay OUR taxes, would we get these same benefit of the doubt Democratic establishment menbers get?

Liberal motto: Tis better that only the powerful be wealthy than the wealthy be powerful.

to see how the leftist trolls try to spin this one. That will be good entertainment to say the least. |
|
|
George W. Bush, flushing $10 Billion dollars down the toilet of Iraq every month. |
|
"would we get these same benefit of the doubt Democratic establishment members get?"
I would be on the street after receiving an IRS enema! The biggest problem with any government spending program is the inevitable graft that goes with it. The higher the spending the more opportunities for graft and corruption. Why would career politicians vote to cut taxes for small business owners when much more personally lucrative to funnel government funds to pals that know how to return favors? These guys may talk the talk, but the walk stops at their office door.
"Hope and Change" meet "More of the Same." HAR! |

The Democrats certainly have the most expensive refrigerator/freezers in their offices. Some worth over $90,000.00.
The Clintons were millionaires before they moved into the White House weren't they?
Hmmm, I wonder if any other Democrats profited during their tenure? |
|
|
Hey, who knew there was so much loot to be scooped up by the most ethical people ever? If only the dopes who vote for the Dems did even a minimum of research, we could have avoided this. |
|

That would then be more than 6 trillion. XXXXX! You lose. |

"In October 2007, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office estimated that additional war costs over the next 10 years would range between $570 billion and $1.1 trillion, depending on troop levels, with overall costs for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and the “global war on terror” reaching $1.2 trillion to $1.7 trillion by 2017." |
|
math and the trigger finger. If you are saying that the war cost 9 billion a month from the start you are wrong. There is no way the government has spent that much since the beginning. 720 Billion would be the total up to March 2009. The previous quote shows up to 2017 what the estimated costs are. I will never agree that it's not worth the price, Which is why I was calling you an idiot. Bush did the right thing. |

Ex-pat, ask the Iraqi people who had free and open elections this week who the winner is?
You might not know because the success of the Iraqi elections is getting very minimal press for an exceptional milestone that led to the conditions and environment for this victory by American military personnel. If then Candidate Obama had had his way with the "surge" (or lack thereof), would the Iraqi people be exercising their freedom and constitutional rights within their government today? makes one go "hum!"

... no. That would be the "[congress], flushing $10 Billion dollars down the toilet of Iraq every month". They are the ones (including Clinton/Kerry/Daschle/Dodd/Schumer) that voted to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq.
... and Nee schooled you on the real cost of the war. But like Kathy said: "I can't wait to see how the leftist trolls spin this one." Unfortunately, you reverted to BDS which is played out, too simplistic, and really not funny (indeed, sad). |

Every person ever convicted of tax evasion and every person that will ever be convicted of tax evasion should sue the Federal Government for abuse of power. Or use the defense that whats good for one should be good for all. Any convicted tax evader should file an appeal and show cause that the scales of justice are not balanced. Tom Daschel and Geitner should be in prison, not the Cabinet. Obama should be impeached for forcing America to accept two criminals as cabinet members. Of course when the President cannot even prove his citizenship I guess two criminal tax cheats aren't that big a deal. Comparatively. |
|
step right up my dear Democrats if you have a burden in your pocketbook or a shortcoming in your portfolio or mortgage to share with your brothers and sisters tonight:
"Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd said Monday he'll refinance two mortgages he received through a VIP program from Countrywide Financial Corp., which is accused of giving favorable loan terms to some lawmakers." ~Fox News
It's just a distraction, folks. Not to worry. |
|
With Democrat rules, why would anyone feel obligated to pay their taxes or their mortgages?
If it's slimmy theres a DemoRat under it... |
