New Polls Provide Conflicting Conclusions for Superdelegates
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 9:43 AM

Superdelegates have some additional information to consider when casting their vote.  The trouble is, the information seems to contradict itself.

A new WSJ/NBC poll on Hillary's favorability shows,

48% have negative feelings toward her
37% have positive  feelings toward her

Meanwhile, Obama "maintained a significant positive-to-negative score of 49% to 32% -- similar to Sen. McCain's 45% to 25%."

While this is certainly good news for Obama, Gallup has some negative news.

According toa new Gallup poll, if Obama wins the nomination, 28% of Hillary's backers would vote for John McCain.

A sizable proportion of Democrats would vote for John McCain next November if he is matched against the candidate they do not support for the Democratic nomination. This is particularly true for Hillary Clinton supporters, more than a quarter of whom currently say they would vote for McCain if Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee.

Polls
I would be curious to see what percentage of blacks would sit out or vote for McCain if Hillary Clinton steals the nomination from Obama.

I also remember...
...that when McCain became the unbeatable frontrunner in the Republican primaries many said that would never vote for him, however, it appears that now realizing their alternative they have changed course. I suspect that the same will hold true on the Democratic side.

I agree if Obama wins the nomination. He will most likely win the Democratic popular vote and lead in delegates. If Hillary Clinton wins the nomination via super delegates, I think a large percent of the Obama supporters will not vote for her. There will be outrage if she wins the nomination that way.

McCain (D-lite)
He'll need those votes to make up for the votes he won't get from conservatives who will not vote for amnesty.
