From CNN.com:
South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint on Friday became one of the first high-profile Republicans to publicly criticize John McCain following his electoral defeat, blaming the Arizona senator for betraying conservative principles in his quest for the White House.
... "McCain, who is proponent of campaign finance reform that weakened party organizations and basically put George Soros in the driver's seat," DeMint said. "His proposal for amnesty for illegals. His support of global warming, cap-and-trade programs that will put another burden on our economy. And of course, his embrace of the bailout right before the election was probably the nail in our coffin this last election. And he has been an opponent of drilling in ANWR, at a time when energy is so important. It really didn't fit the label, but he was our package."

Both of our Parties are Corrupt. They only work for Lobby and Special Intrest Groups for their pockets and they pea on We The People. This election was a Farse and to put in a nobody who has no background is the biggest mistake this country has made. The only true person in this election was Sarah Palin, she isn't a part of the corruption in Washington. Until We The People start making our Politicans accountable we will continue to get what we deserve a BIG SCREWING.86 % of the people in this country want the Illegal's out and they keep destroying our medical, schools and our welfare. They destroy their propertis, are bringing guns and drugs, forming way to many gangs and growing drugs in our National Forest and they are killing an average of 11 Americans a day and we sit by and keep listening to the BS from our Polticians. Wake up AMERICANS or suffer our distruction. |

Republican cannibalism, I love it!!! |
|
|
because the Stupid Party is stupid and needs to be told AGAIN what to do to win. |
|
|
what is this amnesty thing of which you speak? What illegals? I didn't hear a word about it during the entire 2 years of campaigning by any of the candidates. |
|
and my party. I voted, specifically, for Sarah Palin. John McCain can go to H.E.L.L. for all I care. I can't believe that he has stood by while everyone (MSM, Democrats, and our own party) has denigrated the one person that brought our BASE out to vote. God bless Sarah Palin.
I am ashamed of my country, my party, my neighbors, and all who voted to allow this unqualified idiot to become president of the United States.
Our party is responsible for this loss because they allowed a RINO to be our representative. John McCain is not qualified to be a Senator much less president. However, he would have been better than the alternative that we have now elected - and God was watching.
This should never be allowed to happen again or I will HAVE to leave the Republican party. |
|
And watch the GOP go the way of the Whigs.
GOP-RIP |

The illegal alien issue was purposefully submarined by BOTH parties, but particularly the RNC, they wanted an amnesty candidate to be certain that issue was not on the ballot. Even if it cost them the election, which it did. Had there been a choice in this election, the results would have been much different. |

I would have voted Hillary if not for Barack getting the Democratic nod. I would not pull the lever for John McCain if Osama Bin Laden was on the democratic ticket. He started to get me to the point of pulling the lever for him when he chose Sarah Palin for VP, I started to think that he might finally be getting the idea that conservative values matter, but then he voted for the $700,000,000,000.00 down payment for socialism and I just stayed home this year.
With John McCain as the Republican President, Republicans could look forward to 4 to 8 years of the same liberal legislation as they get with Barack Obama, but be saddled with the blame for all of it's failures. Not exactly the future for conservatism that I want to see.
If Republicans want my vote, they had better be conservative, not just slightly more conservative than a socialist marxist. Republicans need to remember that prescription medication, $700,000,000,000.00 bailouts of people who do bad things, falling in line with the "one world" aims of the global warming scam and amnesty for illegal aliens, are going to lose them votes that they are not going to gain by being the liberal light on the ticket.
I am not and never will be a willing participant in the lesser of two evils. You are either evil or you are not, and John McCain while I am sure he views himself as some great honorable man is just as evil and just as bad for our country as Barack Obama will be. God does not differentiate degrees of evil, stealing 1 penny in God's eyes is just as evil as raping, torturing, and eventually murdering a helpless child. Each sin carries the same punishment and each sin carries the same method of salvation.
Republicans can go F&^K themselves if they think they can be democrats in nature and republican in name and get one god damned dime of my money, one nanosecond of my time, or one vote for dog catcher from me. |
|
But it is mostly sour grapes. Sen. DeMint, wake up. If Amnesty is so bad, why did most people ignore the issue and why did Hispanics flock to the Dems? Illegal immigration needs to be dealt with, but a complete "no amnesty" approach is not going to work.
Campaign finance reform, you have a point, but Obama steamrolled with charisma and grass roots fundraising, not so much Soros (although Soros did what he did). |

It's only partially Bush's fault. But as he wasn't running and a RINO was I don't see any problem with putting the onus on the RINO. We knew Bush was moving to the left, that doesn't excuse the Republican nominating a RINO for candidate and said RINO running on fiscal policies indistinguishable from the Democratic candidate. |
|
|
"For God's sake, don't mention Bush... it must be Palin's fault. No, McCain's! No both of them! And the economy. And secret Nazi Hitler youth Muslims in Acorn committing voter fraud. But it's definitely not Bush's fault." |
|
What is gained by slamming McCain at this point?
He wasnt' my choice in the primaries, I didn't have much enthusiasm for him when he won the nomination.
That said, I think he did about as well as anyone could have under the circumstances.
Was his campaign perfect, of course not. Could Jim DeMint have done better, I doubt it.
What's done is done. Our focus has to be forward looking. |

I hope more conservatives speak out against this curmudgeon. The cynic in me says the "fix" was in from the start, keep the amnesty bus running by the RNC cheap labor suits along with the DNC vote buyers. What else can 'splain his defense of O whenever our side attempted to tell the truth about O? And his complete refusal to demand the same courtesy to his running mate, instead allows the lowlife cockroaches that ran his campaign to lie and smear SARAH and her family. Now he's meeting with O in Chicago today..how nice! |
