Obama Undeterred by Ayers' Past as a Terrorist
Posted by: Amanda Carpenter at 3:12 PM
Hours before Barack Obama is scheduled to square off against John McCain at the second presidential debate in Nashville, Obama's campaign manager disclosed new details about his candidate's relationship with domestic terrorist William Ayers.

According to a report from the Chicago Tribune, Axelrod discussed Obama's friendship with Ayers on a campaign plane ride.

Axelrod said he did not know the "exact moment" Obama discovered Ayers had plotted to bomb the Capitol and the Pentagon, but it was sometime during their initial meetings. It did not deter Obama from participating in educational projects with Ayers.

As Obama did in previous denials about Ayers ("I was only eight") Axelrod used Obama's age as an excuse for associating with the criminal.
AXELROD: "I mean the fact is, like a lot of people who, you know, didn't live through that era, particularly who didn't live through that era in Chicago, it just wasn't, I mean, when he came to Chicago, Ayers was advising Mayor Daley on school reform issues and that was his profile was that he was an expert on education issues."

Look, I'm a Republican (right-leaning centrist, but wouldn't call myself a conservative). I'm voting for McCain. I really, really think pounding the Ayers stuff is just counterproductive. The people I talk to, who aren't ideological and aren't really that political, they care about one issue right now - the economy. What McCain needs to do is come up with a solid, game-changing proposal to deal with it. A plan with specifics, and that he can persuasively explain and defend. If he can't do that, all the mentions in the world about Ayers and Dohrn and Wright aren't going to get him anywhere. The proof is in the pudding - they first mentioned Ayers saturday, and Rasmussen tracking has McCain down 9 and Gallup tracking has him down 8.

Better points:
In the 1980s, McCain served on the advisory board to the U.S. chapter of an international group linked to ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081007/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_ira n_contra;_ylt=AqmEP1mI78UH9hSG0t7b_8qs0NUE

McCain was part and parcel of Keating Five and admitted in trial he was guilty of wrongdoing. Keating Five is a sure link to today's economic crisis. How does McCain right himself with that?

McCain is surrounded by advisors who are lobbyists that helped ramrod through de-regulation legislation that help ensure that Wall Street continued to get big bucks at Americans on Main Street's expense. There are currently 84 of those lobbyists in McCain's camp, advising him on matters of our economic crisis. Lobbyists who GOT us INTO this nightmare.

And McCain continues to insist that the smoking gun is the guy who did radical things when Obama was 8 years old? It matters - HOW? Guilt by association should be something McCain AND Sarah [Witch Doctor patient, anti-semitics, and anti-American seditionists] Palin might want to rethink.

Let me try to explain the Ayers situation to you in such a way you might understand. It does not matter how old Obama was when Ayers bombed the Pentagon. Ayers is a terrorist!

Lets say in 30 years someone runs for President of Afghanistan and is friends with Osama bin Laden. I do not think it would matter much if he was only 8 years old when 9/11 happened. The fact that anyone would associate with a terrorist is VERY disturbing!

The repulsive "eight yr. old" defense
If a politician aligns with O.J. Simpson twenty years down the road, when Simpson is a creaky parolee and an expert on Nevada prisons, would it not say something about the quality of that politicians choices?

If an eight yr. old child today, runs for office thirty eight years from now and joins Elliott Spitzer's Community Foundation and has Elliott Spitzer host a tea when that politician launches his campaign, would we be entitled to decry that politician’s choice to align with Spitzer. Would we care that the politician was eight years old when Spitzer was caught in the prostitution use?

It ain't age Senator, it's your choice to align with one that has been what he was. It shouts out that you're a like minded creature.

Your argument is lame, at best. Obama was EIGHT when Ayers did his thing. G. Gordon Liddy was a grown man doing vile things and McCain was an adult at the time the man was dishonoring our country - yet he still allowed the offensive Liddy to support his campaign, and influence him. Same with Charles Keating, another "stand up" guy that McCain - as an ADULT - chose to align himself with out selfish self-interest. McCain, as an ADULT, chose to commit adultery - not once, not twice, but reportedly QUITE OFTEN on his first wife. And we can only imagine Cindy was addicted to pills for SOME reason, if not just only because he husband would call her a C*nt in public.

McCain is now being tied to Iran/Contra rot, to top it all off. Nice guy, huh? And YOU'RE worried about a man Obama was merely NEIGHBORS with, and whom all researchers and RW pundits and Clinton have been unable to realistically tie him to in a manner that you'd like. Wishing isn't making it happen - but by insisting on smearing Obama with unfounded rot, McCain's brought a WHOLE LOT of his own rot up to the surface. Good luck with that.

Have you read Ayers idea of education?

Is THIS what you want your children to learn? Because it is what Obama wants your children to learn.

This is NO education for my son.

American Sweetheart has it
Its not the fact they are associated. Its what they did during their association. Ayers lobbied for the grant money, Obama was appointed to distribute the grant money and organizations that supported Ayers point of view were rewarded...not the actual schools mind you, just the higher level organizations. And it was more for culture advancement as opposed to real educational advancements.

They successfully ran the two non-profit organizations into the ground with no positive results. Ayers has not changed his views, only his tactics. Instead of bombing things, he's corrupting the minds of the youth with his warped views.

Obama did and still does the same thing with land developers for low income housing. Mostly those projects failed, and the only ones who benefited were the developers. Not the people.

Come on libs do your homework and discuss the issues instead of calling names. You can deny all you want, but if you bothered to vet your own candidate you would find he's less than presidential material. His idea of change will ruin America just as he and his dem palls have done with ACORN, Fannie, and Freddie.

"It does not matter how old Obama was when Ayers bombed the Pentagon. Ayers is a terrorist!"

So was Menachem Begin, sixth prime minister of Israel. The bombing of the King David hotel was the deadliest attack of that period.

so let's ask Obama if he knew who
Malcom X was or if he knew who MLK Jr was. Sheesh! Obama wants us to really believe that crap???

This guy who claims he graduated from Harvard with a law degree never once heard of any cases arising out of the 60s? sure, sure...

Next Obama will want us to believe he never had a mentor named Frank,or Jeremiah, or etc etc...
