Is the media so hateful that they must spit on a man's grave? |
Yes they are that hateful. |
Mr.Snow, RIP, like the rest of the Bush administration, and like all press secretaries, was not interested in the truth, he was interested in spin. Why are you guys getting all worked up about this? Oh, that's right, so you can commiserate about the "liberal media" for the umpteenth time. Give it at least a day before start using Mr.Snow's death before whining about the liberal media! |
That is all AP copy is good for. |
These are the same guys McCain primps and poses for. There is no reaching across the aisle to thee guys so why is McCain the GOP nominee? |
That's a pretty dispicable comment.
How about the AP give it a day before they start in on the guy instead. The AP are responsible for the words they write. The AP should pull this article and apologize to Mr Snow's family immediately but they have no sense of decency and decorum and apparently, neither do you.
It's not about whining about the liberal media, it's about common decency. Something you seem to have no comprehension of.
I am so sick of lefties calling all conservatives liars. Look in the mirror Ronnie. You wouldn't know the truth if your life depended on it. I wish the White House would come out stronger to defend their position and take these socialists on. Their problem is they are so caught up in squishy emotion that their brains don't work. Great work are liberal Universities are doing. This is how Hitler did it.....start with the education of the youth. Tony Snow was the best!!! An honorable and honest man. We need thousands more like him. It will take a return to moral ethics and values to save this country from becoming 'socialist europe' |
Taking the occasion of a man's death to take pot shots at him is "speaking the truth". Complaining about it is "spin". Down is up, truth is fiction and saying anything nice about anyone with an "R" beside their name is double plus ungood.
There are times when I truly weep for the left. |
Yes, indeed, the media are so hateful they must spit on the man's grave. They did it for Jesse Helms' too. When a Democrat drops though, we need at least a week of endless fawning though. |
I will not join in the calling of names, but I would like to point out that Tony Snow inspired people and brought out the best in them.
To see what you inspire, all one has to do is read these comments. You can do better friend.... |
I think you shot the wrong ronnie! |
That's the problem, ronnie can't do better. That's the sad thing. |
They continually spew their far left drivel! Insulting a fine person who sadly passed away is just going too far. Shame on Ronnie. |
Exaggerating when I'm simply pointing out the obvious, then sinking to the tried and true formula of all liberals are "socialists" and "nazis". Get over yourselves and your false outrage. Have you no shame? |
He always stood his ground albeit with courtesy and class. His passive aggressive style was one of a kind and he would have handled the lightweight detractors on TH with a smile and a verbal right cross to the head!PasadenaP you are correct on reaching across the aisle you can expect a knife in your back every time, hell the dems can't even reach across their table without another dem threatening a castration. |
Tony Snow was a great man and a great Press Secretary! The press and people like "ronnie" on this blog have no class! Tony Snow was more intelligent than pretty much any White House reporter. You can always tell a good man when the liberal media questions their intelligence i.e. Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush! |
She's so hopeless, she needs to be defended by wingnuts on Hewitt's blog. Why can't she take care of herself? |
I can defend myself just nicely (without making it personal), but thanks for the shout out anyway. I'm an Independent not a Dem (but I was for 15 years) and I've pissed off a couple of my Dem friends because I don't fall for the blind party loyalty anymore. They can't admit when they are wrong and their candidate or party makes a mistake. They are always capable of rationalizing it away. And I'll defend myself when I think someone's post is worthy of a response.
As far as Tony Snow is concerned, he was a human being first before anything else and he deserves to be shown respect today. |
I've been around the 'net today, and even the most liberals are saying what a classy guy he is. It's just the AP, ronnie here and a few nitwits on over at HuffPo (though even there most know not to hate on the recently deceased and are offering condolences).
R.I.P. Tony Snow. Even setting aside politics, you were one of the good guys. |
is in paradise with Christ and the heathen weasels who sit in their ugliness have only eternity in a dark, lonely and bitter place ahead of them.
Lefties have always hated happy people, so they must have despised Tony Snow with his ever cheerful and optimistic manner to the end of his illness.
A few weeks ago, Tim Russert; today, Tony Snow.
Putting labels aside, consider the parallel qualities in their lives, chief of which is that they were men of devout Christian faith.
DC and this country have lost two people who succeeded in a nasty profession in a nasty city while doing it the right way and serving as considerable North Star weights in our country's moral compass. |
you said it. Tony has finished his race, and is in the arms of Jesus. I bet he heard "well done thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Matt 25:21
You know, it's sad when we as humans cannot be respectful when one of our fellow men loses their life. I am what I would consider a liberal, but I don't understand how politics carry over on subjects such as this. Tony Snow was a man, who had a family. I pray for all of them in this time.
For people to comment on their opinions of Tony's wrongdoings as a part of the Bush administration I say: let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Let the man rest in peace.
God speed, Tony. |
I know Tony has heard those words and is at peace! He was a class act right until the end; we could all hope to do as well.
The thing I loved most about Tony was the fact that he was unflappable! You could not get to the man. He could always make me smile. When I heard he was ill, it was like hearing a member of my own family had cancer.
Those who would use this occasion to be hateful are only showing the stark difference between themselves and Tony. All I can say is that karma is real, and it will probably be along to bite the person in the poterior one day! |
Some of us will truly miss Tony. He was a classy guy and a decent human being. Certainly far more decent than the pajammy-gang losers on the left. |
Angels rejoicing, a good day in heaven, not where I am. Tony, he is the best I have ever known. A sad day. |
you were a good and faithful servant and we were lucky to have the benefit of your wit, humor and knowledge for these years. Blessings on his wife and children during these difficult times. There is no place for rude remarks. A good man has passed and respect should be shown for his family's sake, if not because it is the right thing to do. |
I wish I had had the honor of Tony Snow's friendship. I always enjoyed hearing him speak regardless of the subject and the forum. He Had something that no other press secretary had or ever will have...... A personal Magic for delivering a clear, concise message in the fewest words and the nicest possible way. Een when it was bad news, he made us feel better about it and understand that "it ain't over, til it's over !" There was always room for hope ! He served America and Americans to the best of his enormous talent and should be remembered for his sevice to the benefit of all mankind ! Save me a seat in the back of the room Tony ! God Bless You and Your Family ! Ken |
...that Townhall and the Neo-Con flying Monkies would react this way to such a simple comment in an obit that is, it turns out, factually accurate.
Tony Snow was, by all accounts, a terrific guy. My sympathies to his family. |
of Mr. Snow, was when they were televising some of the press conferences, and they showed him interacting with, then delicately mincing Helen Thomas. She, who stayed too long at the party. He held his ground and made her look like the political hack that she is. My prayers go out to all of his family and friends. We'll all miss this man of charcter, charm, and quality. May we all take a page from his book and hold fast to the truth and our beliefs, |
You should have just said the second part of your post, and left out the first. In your snarkiness, you showed classless behavior and that you are unable to be nice without the added alloy of hatred. Nice... |
There will always be those in spew invective in any situation. Anybody who would use this occasion to take a rip at the Tony Snow is hardly worth a response.
When these vile types show up we should let them hang themselves with their own words. Ignore them and anybody with an ounce of decency reading the threads, no matter what their political persuasion would then be forced to admit all the vitriol comes from one direction.
There is no better way to make the left look as hateful and stupid as they choose to make themselves look.
He was such a decent man & I can't understand why the AP could write something so ugly about him. |
.....obviously off his meds, again, and simply showing the symptoms of acute liberalism. |
The AP desk editor had an obligation to catch the bias in that copy and edit it out.
Today, the only facts that matter are these: Tony Snow was a good, hard working man afflicted with and ultimately overcome by a terrible illness. He left behind a loving family of a wife and three young kids.
For heaven's sake, let's all take a moment to pray for his family instead of engaging in ridiculous invective.
This was not the time or place to bag on the guy. Like someone else said, how 'bout giving it a day or so before dancing on his grave? |
I always trusted Tony Snow. I never trust the AP. |
Both men were honorable men who did very well in thier professions. Snow, a conservative who wasn't afraid of letting people know it worked at Fox and for the WH. Russert, a Democratic Operative and Beltway insider, used his knowledge to make a boring Sunday News Program #1. Russert created the iconic Red/Blue divide during the 2000 elections. From that moment onward he enjoyed super star status. Most people forget that Russert's heart and soul belonged to the Democratic Party, while most everyone knew Snow was a conservative.
Both were professionals with different styles. The AP, I imagine couldn't help itself.

MATT LEWIS, GOOD GRIEF MAN, WHY ARE CONSERVATIVES PERPETUALLY OFFENDED (AND SURPRISED) BY THE MSM? TOWNHALL/SALEM CHOOSES TO USE OVERWHELMINGLY AP 'NEWS' FEEDS WHOSE REPORTERS AND EDITORS LEAN HEAVILY TO THE LEFT. GRANTED THEY HAVE A NEAR MONOPOLY ON NATIONAL NEWS FEEDS, BUT YOU GUYS CHOOSE THEM AND THEN COMPLAIN. AND THE GREATEST OFFENSE IN ANY REPORTING IS NOT AN OPEN BIAS BUT WHAT IS LEFT OUT BY ACT OF INTENTION OR INCOMPETENCE. TONY SNOW WAS A VERY SPECIAL MAN, DECENT AND MORAL, THOUGHTFUL, USING HIS INTELLIGENCE TO GREAT PURPOSE AND FULL OF GOODWILL. THE LITTLE SNIPING TWIT WHO WROTE THE PIECE YOU QUESTIONED WAS TYPICAL OF THE LIGHTWEIGHTS THAT WRITE FOR THE AP NEVER TO BE IN THE CLASS OF A TONY SNOW. JOSEPH IN THE NORTHWOOD |
Politics aside, Tony Snow demonstrated with his life what it means to be a decent, cheerful, man of good will. His passing has affected me more deeply than anyone I have known. When I read bitter comments about him I am only reminded of his radiant and infectious smile and off-hand comments such as..."give me a break". I shall miss his advice, his insight, his optimism and his awesome good humor. He was one of the great men of this world.
Rest in peace Tony. You were much loved. |
Tony Snow reflected what is best in every American. His life was truly a dedication of love for mankind and love for his country. He didn't grow weary of well doing; he took every opportunity he had to do good for others. I am certain he was led of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22-23; 6:9-10). He showed me I should take the opportunity to do something good for another and do it as often as possible. As for me, I am grateful for Tony's life. I will honor him by following his example. Yep. I'm going to be like Tony! |
Of course the AP would spit on the man's grave after he's gone. He called them on their gross journalistic misconduct and partisanship. They didn't bother to research facts anymore. They just repeated antagonistic political rhetoric to attempt to provoke a reaction so that the reaction itself would become news.
Their lack of ethical standards combined well with a lack of objectivity - disgracing the profession of journalism in a downward slide of decades. Whenever anyone calls them to the carpet on it they don't seek proof, evidence, or logic - they just go on the attack. They are nothing more than a pool of hack editorial writers pretending to be reporting hard news. |
Russert--Media stopped short of demanding a state funeral and having his body lie in the Capital Rotunda.
Snow--Back page news and comments which amount to little more than calling him a liar. |
The MSM's two favorite targets are:
1) Live conservatives. 2) Dead conservatives.
I would have been shocked had it been otherwise. |
My gawd- are there *really* people defending the AP on this? If they think his facts were wrong, they should have debated him on them when he was around to do so. He was always more than willing to go into any environment and have the discussion.
To as-a-matter-of-factly imply he was wrong about anything when speaking of him in passing is not only incredibly tacky, it's cowardly, and I believe betrays a certain lack of resolve and confidence their positions.
And the mainstream media wonders why they're such a punchline now... |
"My gawd- are there *really* people defending the AP on this? If they think his facts were wrong, they should have debated him on them when he was around to do so."
Like criminals, liberals find it safer to attack targets where there's a guarantee of no "return fire". |
if the godless liberal media do it. They see this as speaking truth to a...dead man. Can you IMAGINE the Page A-1, 7-day OUTRAGE if someone happens to bring up Chappaquiddick when Ted K. dies?? I utterly despise and revile the slanted, hate-filled jackass MSM, which can't just keep their forked tongues in their mouths EVEN as most of the nation mourns this fine man. |
In response to Ronnie who criticized Tony Snow and the Bush administration in general, Paddy O'Furniture wrote:
"I will not join in the calling of names, but I would like to point out that Tony Snow inspired people and brought out the best in them.
To see what you inspire, all one has to do is read these comments. You can do better friend"
Like the best of responses, this one takes few words. True and to the point. Thanks Paddy. |
...The AP is a liberal bastion of distortions and slight-of-hand tricks and wordplay. WHY OH WHY! does no conservative point this out DAILY!
As far as these comments, "pathetic cowards" sounds about right. |
