A Hardening Narrative
Posted by: Carol Platt Liebau at 12:04 PM
If Democrats think that Hillary Clinton is the candidate who "parses, evades, dissembles and condescends," well, Karl Rove has some mighty bad news for them . . . backed up, chapter and verse, by the facts.

The frequency of some pretty noteworthy gaffes on Obama's part has been discussed on this blog before.  Those speak to inexperience.  But what seems like Barack's emerging penchant for parsing, evading, dissembling and condescending signal something more intentional.

What will be interesting to see is whether the MSM understands how much of its credibility is at stake, and whether its members will cover Barack Obama with the same rigor that they would a less "groundbreaking" candidate.

One Debate ...
With a real opponent will expose this con man for what he is ...

Hillary couldn't really go after him from the center or the right, something McCain will not hesitate to do.

To quote McCain in his first dealings with Obama back in Feb 2006:
"I would like to apologize to you for assuming that your private assurances to me regarding your desire to cooperate in our efforts to negotiate bipartisan lobbying reform legislation were sincere."

and

"Again, sorry for the confusion, but please be assured I won't make the same mistake again."

and the end of his letter:

" As I noted, I initially believed you shared that goal. But I understand how important the opportunity to lead your party's effort to exploit this issue must seem to a freshman Senator, and I hold no hard feelings over your earlier disingenuousness. Again, I have been around long enough to appreciate that in politics the public interest isn't always a priority for every one of us. Good luck to you, Senator."

No love lost there ...

Pure gall...
It's truly amazing that after lionizing and defending the current gaffemaster in chief, any Republican would want to try and build a case against Obama based on misstatements on the campaign trail.

Who is defending Bush gaffes here ?
Not me. He made them, got pounded by the media and moved on. Obama on the other hand is just plain lying most of the time.

Moderate ?

Bipartisan ?

A new Politics ?

Post Racial Candidate ?

Please spare me ... He's a big fat socialist LIBERAL ...

and a racist supporter to boot ...

Those aren't gaffes, those are his beliefs ...

So why don't you defend Obama like we "defended" Bush's gaffes ?

Is it because as usual liberal want no debate on anything ... ?

I think so :)

I couldn't get the Rove
link to work.

Both Hillary and Edwards took Obama to task during one of the debates; unfortunately, Edwards now sees something in Obama's candidacy for him so rather than have the backbone to stand his ground as to what he thought of Obama he has become another hypocrit in the Democratic party.

Even when Hillary took Obama on, she was forced by the DNC to lay off - what gives? Since when did all members of one party start doing the a**kissing dance?

Our government fought long and hard to break up Ma Bell years ago in order to avoid monopolies; yet the very same govt has allowed the media to become nothing more than a monopoly. Is anyone really surprised at why and how America got "dumbed-down."

Imagine what lemmings we would be without the internet.
