A Few McCain Speech Excerpts
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 7:15 PM
Excerpts from Sen. McCain’s acceptance speech, as prepared for delivery, are below.

On running mate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin:

"I’m very proud to have introduced our next Vice President to the country. But I can’t wait until I introduce her to Washington. And let me offer an advance warning to the old, big spending, do nothing, me first, country second Washington crowd: change is coming."

On solving problems in Washington:

"The constant partisan rancor that stops us from solving these problems isn’t a cause, it’s a symptom. It’s what happens when people go to Washington to work for themselves and not you.

Again and again, I’ve worked with members of both parties to fix problems that need to be fixed. That’s how I will govern as President. I will reach out my hand to anyone to help me get this country moving again. I have that record and the scars to prove it. Senator Obama does not."

On love of country:

"I fell in love with my country when I was a prisoner in someone else’s. I loved it not just for the many comforts of life here. I loved it for its decency; for its faith in the wisdom, justice and goodness of its people. I loved it because it was not just a place, but an idea, a cause worth fighting for. I was never the same again. I wasn’t my own man anymore. I was my country’s."

Love of country that money can't buy
Obama Bin Biden can't buy the kind of love of country that McCain-Palin possess. This election has a clear choice. The executive decision making pro american team Vs. the legislative never made an executive decision apologetic americans. I think the stakes got raised last night and the americans are ready to pick a commander in chief.

Why Won't He Defend The Border?

It is not honorable to conspire behind closed doors with Ted Kennedy and La Raza against the American people.

It is not honorable to try to rush an amnesty for foreign nationals illegally in our country AND their employers through Congress without committee hearings shortcutting the normal process.

It is not honorable to have contempt for the will of the people. "I'll build the G-D fence if they want it."

You simply CANNOT have national security if you will not defend your own borders or enforce your own laws. Foreign nationals numbering in the thousands are entering our country at will daily. John McCain has done and will do NOTHING to stop it. Don't believe me? Ask Juan Hernandez!

Obama bin Biden
Sarah.. Obama Bin Biden?
Did you come up with that?

I hope McCain can do it. If not, it is just a matter of time before the vote ourselves a free lunch crowd ruins this country.

Beautiful
These excerpts: love it, love it and...love it!

Be the President we need to kick the collective butts of the self-serving people in Congress, both Democrat and Republican, and get their rears in gear. It's time for someone who practices what he preaches when he talks of bipartisanship. It's time for someone who pursues real reform and doesn't go with the status quo when he thinks the citizens of this country aren't watching. It is time for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Tie Ballgame!
A recent CBS News poll, taken between Sept 1 and Sept 3 shows that the race between Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama is tied at 42%. The same poll last week showed a 48-40 lead for Obama. It should be noted that the poll was taken before Governor Palin's speech last night. It would seem to indicate that even before her speech, her selection had given the McCain campaign a big boost.

Let me get this straight
The presumptive leader of the Republican party wants to end partisan rancor. The very same partisan rancor which is nothing if not God food to the likes of Rush Limbaugh and all of conservative media.

Right.

Good luck with that.

Obama Bin Laden?
Way to end the hate.

Oh you poor GOP. I pity you.
