Newsweek Debunks "Kill Him" Rumors; Obama Knew They Were Bogus Before Debate

Newsweek reports that not only were the reports that folks attending a McCain rally yelled "kill him" likely false -- but also that Obama knew these reports were false before using them in last week's debate:
"During a heated moment in his final presidential debate with Sen. John McCain, Sen. Barack Obama noted the anger of some supporters at rallies for McCain's running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. "All the public reports suggested," Obama said, that people shouted "things like 'terrorist' and 'kill him'." Making a death threat against a presidential candidate can be a crime. But even before Obama cited "reports" of the threats at the debate, the U.S. Secret Service had told media outlets, including NEWSWEEK, that it was unable to corroborate accounts of the "kill him" remarks—and according to a law-enforcement official, who asked for anonymity when discussing a political matter, the Obama campaign knew as much. Now some officials are disgruntled that Obama gave added credence to the threat by mentioning it in front of 60 million viewers. At this point in the campaign, said one, candidates will "say anything to make a particular point." This, of course, is merely the latest example of Obama's willingness to inaccurately portray himself as a victim and flagrantly gin up sympathy votes, while simultaneously, ignoring the really, really objectionable behavior his own supporters engage in (viewer discretion advised).

The Joseph Goebbels media will jump at anything to make Republicans and McCain supporters look bad and make Obama look sympathetic. Perhaps someone at a McCain rally did say "Kill him." He may have just been referring to the election, as in "We'll kill him in the voting booth." American slang uses such terms as can be interpreted any way the hearer desires. There are very few of us who have not said words to the effect "I'll kill him," when someone says something about us as a joke or something but we seldom mean that we actually are going to kill him. Obama and his supporters are nothing but a bunch of whining crybabies (so is the entire Democrat party for that matter) who whine about anything and everything. I do not like John McCain but the whining and BS attacks from the left, especially against Sarah Palin, are doing what John McCain has been unable to do and that is to get me to vote for the GOP ticket. |

I'm suspicious about his mercy mission to the grandmother he threw under the bus, the white one that contributed some of her white genes via her white daughter to this monster. I read it as more of a ploy for sympathy..why if he really cared for her, didn't he fly over there as soon as he'd heard the news??? hmmmmm? Could be a sign he needs a sympathy vote cuz he's tanking?

Obama promises change if he is elected. If I remember correctly, that is exactly what the Democrats promised if they were to gain control of Congress. Well they gained control, and we did indeed get change. I guess we forgot to ask if the change would be for the better or worse. The Democrats have been controlling us for the last two years and have been voted the worst in history. That being said, I wonder why people are falling all over themselves for Obama because he promises change. I guess that we do not learn from our previous mistakes. |

A couple of small points. First of all after speaking to a number of people at the rally not as participants in the rally but people who work the venue the secret service could find nobody who heard any such thing except the reporter which claimed to have heard it.
Next you allege that the secret service is somehow in a conspiracy to cover this up. Sorry toots but the secret service doesn't have political opinions. If they did several of our presidents wouldn't have survived in office. The secret service doesn't participate in the government it's not a Praetorian Guard it's protection for our elected officials and candidates running for office. They get assigned to whom they guard by their superiors. |

Clearwater - CLEARWATER Frank Armstrong was preparing to go for a jog this morning when he noticed his Lexus – adorned with a McCain-Palin sticker - had been vandalized with obscenities and a burned American flag.
Armstrong discovered the damage to his 2006 Lexus about 8:30 a.m. at his Sand Key condominium at 1400 Gulf Blvd. Clearwater police and Armstrong said someone etched obscenities and "KKK" into the paint, burned several areas of the car with cigarettes, set the flag on fire on his hood and may have urinated on the vehicle. Officers and Armstrong think the car was singled out because of its political stickers, including one reading "Nobama."
"This is definitely a hate crime," said Armstrong, a 41-year-old physician.

There are very few women in the U.S. who have risen through the ranks of community, city and state positions as Sarah Palin--it is commendable. I have worked in business, talk radio and community simultaneously, and I can tell you my community efforts were very involved and complex. It bothers me Palin's political efforts are being marginalized. She has management, leadership, and budgetary experience; she has more of these experiences than Obama—it is ridiculous to hear people diminish Palin while giving Obama a pass to the white house.
As a side note, have you noticed Joe the Plummer has been vetted by the MSM more than Obam?. We now know more about Joe and Sarah than we know about Obama thanks to our impartial news media.

I too, am mad as hell about the treatment of Palin. The first decent citizen politician to run for high office in decades and she is treated to the most vile and unfair hate speech that I have ever seen in politics. Sarah Palin is more accomplished than anyone in politics today. They hate her because she is one of us! I will walk on broken glass and crawl through a pit of snakes, ( the media comes to mind ) to vote for this woman. And I know many, many women who feel the same as we do.

During a warm-up speech for Palin at an Oct. 15 rally in Scranton, Pa., a journalist with the city's Times-Tribune paper, David Singleton, reported hearing someone say "kill him"; he told NEWSWEEK that the remark was made casually, rather than angrily, by a male voice. Singleton stands by his account, but he acknowledges that he was unable to identify who made the remark. Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren says his agency examined videotape from that event and an earlier Palin event in Clearwater, Fla., at which a similar threat was supposedly made, and concluded that the voice could've been saying "tell him" or "tell them." But Washington Post reporter Dana Milbank, who was in Clearwater, said "the guy was a few feet in front of me … '[T]ell him' doesn't make any sense as a response to what Palin was saying." An Obama campaign spokesman told NEWSWEEK that "whether or not the [Secret Service] is investigating that particular comment is irrelevant. What is true is that the tone of the rhetoric at McCain-Palin campaign events has gotten out of hand."

What is goinging on in this country? This is a woman that grew up in an inhospitable environment for women, no money for college but found a way, married her HS sweetheart and worked hard (physically) to help build a successful business and raise five (count them five) beautiful children. Then when she became unhappy with the current government situation in her own environment, she took action, became mayor, went on to be on the Board for the Oil Industry in Alaska, quit because of CORRUPTION, took on an incumbent Republican Governor (also corrupt), stood up to the "good ole boy" political machine in Alaska and beat them, changed the way the Alaskan government was doing business, re-negotiated oil contracts with the "Big Oil Companies", cut spending, returned money to Alaskans, negotiated a very very important natural gas pipeline for the benefit of our ENTIRE COUNTRY, and after one and half years in office still had an 80% approval rating!!! The reason that I am "mad as hell" is that the MEDIA IN THE COUNTRY (news and entertainment) have savage this admirable woman. I am not talking about just the news media but all the unbelievable, vile disgusting things that I have heard and seen by even our young people in our universities, the liberal think tanks, the liberal pundits on even Fox News (which is the only station I ever watch anymore) but even on Fox these people are not held to account. What kind of country have we become when a person that should be respected and admired for her life can be so vilified but there is NO NO outrage from the very organizations that SHOULD be objective. These are the organizations that shape opinion in this country and they have FAILED MISERABLY. NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC AND THE WORST OFFENDER IS NPR. NPR SHOULD BE THE STANDARD.. |
