McCain makes a good point:

"If we'd done what the Democrats wanted to do six months ago, Al Queda would be telling the world: "we beat America".
John McCain doesn't get enough credit for the surge. This message is profound and is a compelling reason to vote Republican in '08.

Update: McCain's answer to the question about the Vice President was very good. He was able to seamlessly segue into his real message -- that he has the most foreign policy experience -- and thus, wouldn't need to rely on a VP to the same degree Bush did.

Maybe you forgot Reagan defeated communism in Russia and Eastern Europe? Communism only killed 100mm people. Reagan accomplished this despite a Democratic controlled Congress and at time Senate that fought him every step of the way.

If economists new anything, they would be on Wall Street making millions rather than teaching stoners like you and making $50k. Communism was expanding when Reagan took office. Those economists and political scientists you listen too were busy fighting against Reagan. They were livid when he said "tear down this wall" and called Russia "an evil empire." Reagan's defense spending, arms race and strategic defense initiative brought down communism. The Russians tried to keep up and could not; as a result their economy crumbled. Today lots of Eastern Europeans have pictures of Reagan up on their walls, while Gorby got less than 1% of the vote in Russia's first election.

I guess you never heard Southeast Asia? Communism was hardly in the "death throes." And let us not forget Grenada and the Russian's attempt to establish then expand Communism in the Caribbean. While at it, I will remind you of Nicaragua.
