Interview with the President: Jail Time for Those without Health Care Insurance?

During an exclusive interview with ABC News’ Jake Tapper today, President Obama said that penalties are appropriate for people who try to “free ride” the health care system but stopped short of endorsing the threat of jail time for those who refuse to pay a fine for not having insurance.
“What I think is appropriate is that in the same way that everybody has to get auto insurance and if you don't, you're subject to some penalty, that in this situation, if you have the ability to buy insurance, it's affordable and you choose not to do so, forcing you and me and everybody else to subsidize you, you know, there's a thousand dollar hidden tax that families all across America are -- are burdened by because of the fact that people don't have health insurance, you know, there's nothing wrong with a penalty.”

It's interesting that while you argue about liberal posts having no validity, you offer nothing but rhetoric in your statement.
Based on what I've seen on this site, liberal posts tend to be more grounded in fact. That may be because so many of us come here for a purpose other than whining and the facilitation of conspiracy theories. We're hoping to get some righties to see the light. No luck, so far, but one never knows.

President Obama’s newly confirmed regulatory czar defended the possibility of removing organs from terminally ill patients without their permission.
Cass Sunstein also has strongly pushed for the removal of organs from deceased individuals who did not explicitly consent to becoming organ donors.
In his 2008 book, “Nudge: Improving Decisions about Health, Wealth and Happiness,” Sunstein and co-author Richard Thaler discussed multiple legal scenarios regarding organ donation
. One possibility presented in the book, termed by Sunstein as “routine removal,” posits that “the state owns the rights to body parts of people who are dead or in certain hopeless conditions, and it can remove their organs without asking anyone’s permission.”
“Though it may sound grotesque, routine removal is not impossible to defend,” wrote Sunstein. “In theory, it would save lives, and it would do so without intruding on anyone who has any prospect for life.”

What would happen if all the liberal posts were outright ignored unless they contained a valid point to argue? Would the trolls disappear to try and irritate other people? Would they sit there and say argue me?
Actually, the last question is easy because they would just assume they are right cause no one cares to respond to them anymore. Not any different now I guess.
Anyways to stick to the post. Yeah, great idea Reid has rush through health care just like Pelosi. Funny how Reid keeps flip-flopping between a bill this year and not until next year too. Have you seen that plan? Geez! After months of nothing but talking points, a few laughable bills, and pretending to know better how to fix the health care system, they finally come up with a bill.
The CBO scored it. A brief recap.
-Does not address pre-existing conditions, at all
-Covers an additional 3 million people over 10 years (barely keeps up with population growth) - Dem plan covers 96% of all Americans
-Allows insurance companies to drop people when they get sick - Dem plan ends this
-Allows insurance companies to move to states with lame insurance laws and sell insurance in every other state while bypassing those state laws
-Takes $80 billion of deficit (Dems plan takes $120 billion off deficit)
Boehner must be brilliant! Geez. Let's just pass this plan tomorrow and we'll all be better off!!
Republicans can't even PRETEND to care about people. This plan is horrifying, to say the least, and offers us insight into the fact that they just don't take the topic seriously.

As one who attended Town Hall meetings this summer I can certainly tell you that 90% of those attending and believe me their were a lot of people represented at those meetings, most opposed this government plan. Those politicians that do not listen to the will of the people will pay at the next election.
