Roger Clemens: Steroid User?
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 1:03 PM
The George Mitchell steroids in baseball report will be released at 2pm.   Sorry Dems, your debate doesn't stand a chance.

UPDATE: The Yankees are going to have a bad day.
A former New York Yankees strength trainer says information he provided to the George Mitchell investigation regarding supplying Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte with steroids is included in the Mitchell report scheduled to be released later today, a source close to the trainer told ESPN The Magazine's Shaun Assael.

UPDATE: The full report is available at Major League Baseball's website.

This is sad
I'm curious as to how many other baseball players will be named here. There is the Yankees hating, Mets fan part of me that takes some delight in seeing Pettitte and Clemens on the steroid list, but it is a tragedy seeing so many influential players (and I'm sure there are some Mets players on this list) that had to cheat to win or break even in Major League Baseball. Even though this type of drug abuse is no longer tolerated, the 1990's steroid era is a stain that will take decades to be erased from the collective baseball memory.

Clemens and Steroids
The Red Sox television channel gives its fans a daily fix of Red Sox baseball by replaying Great Games of the Past. One of their favorites is the 18 strikeout performance by Clemens against the Mariners. In that replay, Clemens is about half the size he was when he first joined the Yankees.

The list was up.....
....on Drudge earlier, but now they've taken it down.
Not many suprises, but there are a few.
Not a good day for a real baseball lover. My game is gone forever.....

How is this Senate business?
Who cares?

Why?
Jim Farley writes: Thursday, December, 13, 2007 3:05 PM
On second thought...
Its better than them spending time on something that could cause actual damage. Maybe they should investigate steroid use in professional wrestling as well.

While this is primarily a political blog, there are quite a few posters here who are a little more well-rounded than you appear to be....

However, I would find great amusement in a probe of Congressional steroid users with hearings before a panel of Major League Baseball players....

Well rounded
I'm a lot more well rounded than I used to be, but that's because I don't have to keep up with the eighteen year olds anymore. Honestly, why is it Senate business what goes on in MLB? Why is MLB a government sanctioned monopoly? It's anti-republican in the truest sense. Senators have no business in private business; when the hearings were originally convened, the correct response on the part of Major League Baseball would have been to show contempt for congress and refuse to appear. "Its none of your business" is the proper response - except that way back when, someone in Baseball decided that government sanction would be a good thing. It never is.

And, not to be too snooty but I can assure you that I'm a lot more well-rounded than you are. Honestly, ask me a question.

My bad. I misinterpreted your original post to mean that you were annoyed that a discussion of baseball would appear on this post.
Now that you have further explained yourself, I agree 100% with what you said. Politicians are always sticking their noses where they don't belong.
Therefore, I've decided you're a helluva guy.
I especially like the blarney at the end....reminds me of my good friend neoconscum.
You have a future here at Townhall.....
but.....since I get to ask a question....:
At the end of the movie "The Oscar," when Frankie Faine stands to accept his Acadamy Award, who's name is actually called?
....and remember, your answer must be in the form of a question.....

Okay?

Actually, I cannot tell a lie. Jim Farley is my super-hero name, my alter ego is SonnyJim, I'm just logged in differently since I had to rebuild elements of this laptop.
