They call it "voter suppression" despite the fact that the IDs will be provided for free if someone does not have a driver's license or passport. Isn't there a minimal set of controls that need to be in place for votes to be counted?
In terms of identification ... voted this morning in NY ... didn't have to show ID !!! You have to show ID to enter buildings, to write a check, etc .... but not to vote??
I cannot think of any reason for this other than someone wants to be able to steal elections.

According to the Real Clear final averages, McCain is winning in Indiana, Missouri, and NC. Obama is up just 1.8 in FL, 2.5 in OH, and 4.4 in VA. McCain will win all close contests because there are lots of people who are afraid to tell polsters how they really feel. Even my wife is afraid to tell her friends she is voting Republican, lest she be considered stupid or intolerant. If the Obama comments about bankrupting the coal industry gets out (and MSNBC and CNN are ignoring it), Obama loses PA, and thus loses the election. |

In a past election, a person was 'elected' by a small margin. Several dead people voted, and the person who signed the vote count certification sheet was a thousand miles away from the precinct when the votes were 'counted' BUT, according to other politicians (and likely from pressure due to possible cries of 'racism'), there was not enough 'proof' that something was wrong with the election results, a new election was not held and that person was allowed to keep a seat in the State Senate.

Indianapolis seems to have 45,000 more 'registered' voters than the number of voting age residents. With the number of 'voter registration fraud' incidents in numerous states ALREADY uncovered, and some state officials unwilling to do anything about it, we may well discover that a fraud got the largest number of votes by fraud, and may even be declared the 'winner' by fraud.

I'm in Ward 2 Division 15. I voted around 9:45 AM and was told I was one of the only Republicans to show up so far. In fact, the person checking my card announced the fact quite loudly for all within ear shot to hear. Based on what I saw and heard, Obama definitely has my division in the bag, unless Republicans tend to vote after work. Obama signs, t-shirts, and buttons everywhere outside the voting area. |

I was born and raised in Philly and used to joke that they should change Election day to Halloween in order to accommodate all the deceased voters who showed up. Which is why I am not surprised at this behavior . When you have people like Wilson Goode, Jr's. assistant insulting people by insinuating they are in the KKK, which she even had trouble spelling...what do you expect. This is typical of the once great City of Philadelphia. The ACORN apologists have been saying all this time, "this isn't voter fraud," omitting the word "yet". With all their voter registration fraud in key battleground states like Pennsylvania, and now the Republican poll watchers being kicked out in Democrat-run Philadelphia, the actual voter fraud begins.
So, what happens when the Republicans pick up the counties in the center and west of the state, but Democrat cheating overwhelms that in the east?
At this point, I will not be trusting the results from some of those states UNLESS McCain wins, because that will tell me that the Democrats just didn't cheat ENOUGH to offset the number of honest voters. An Obama win in an ACORN-targeted state will necessarily be tainted.

Some of my in-laws switched to Obama this year. They're black, but they claim their vote has nothing do with race. When my wife talked to them about the election she found: 1) they don't really know who he is or what he believes. They just think he's going to send them a check. Though on most social issues they would disagree with him, they have worked it out in their minds that he doesn't really mean what he says about anything other than sending them a check. When my wife discussed issues where Obambi clearly differs with her family (e.g. abortion), she was told those were just Republican lies. 2) They hate, hate, hate Sarah Palin. Why? They think she's evil. Why is she evil? She criticizes Obambi--who is the embodiment of the good. They also think she's stupid, and that Joe Biden is brilliant. 3) They think all of the stuff about Ayers, Wright, Khalidi, Rezko, etc., are just "dirty tricks" by those trying to keep a good, black man down. 4) They have a newfound hatred for G. W. Bush. We never heard this from them in the past. 5) the only news outlet they watch is CNN. |

My step-dad owns a business that employs 35 people. Most of his employees are retired military, several with disabilities. He built the business from the ground up, put in years of sweat-equity, and now the company provides a livable wage for a few dozen families.
If Obama's tax plan takes effect, he will have to lay off three of those veterans. Or he'll have to reduce everyone's wages by 5 to 10% in order to keep the three.
That's the reality of the Obama tax plan. The people who will be hit the hardest are those who create the jobs for the rest of us.

If anybody bothered checking the tax increase numbers themselves, they would fine that using the numbers given in the “Joe the plumber” video, if your step-dad makes $275,000 in profit, after paying his employees and all other business expenses, his taxes would go up $750 above what they are now. $750. How? Nothing changes under $250,000. That part stays the same. At $250,000, in profit (no income taxes on business expenses) the rate would go from the current 36% to 39%. That is it. It is that simple. .03 (3%) times 25,000 (the amount above $250,000) equals $750. The government is already charging 36%. His taxes aren’t going up 39%. Watch the video again and listen to the numbers he says. The problem is that Joe didn’t do the math himself. Would his taxes go up? Yes, $750. If someone making $275,000 can’t pay an extra $750, who can? Joe was complaining about $750.

I don't think it's far reaching to think by the end of Obama's term tax rates will be over 40% - why stop at 39% - let's go to 42% - 44% it's fair to confiscate from people that produce.
The reality is when the tax cuts expire in 2010 everyone's taxes will increase. Including the so -called middle class - who by the way received the largest percentage of their taxes cut.
Let's not forget the 10-15% increase in capital gains tax. It is stupid policy as it will decrease investment but it's "fair"

I hadn’t heard that he changed it. Gov Richardson mis-quoted the rate once. If it went down to 200,00 it would still only be $2250 more. Where did you hear it changed to 200,000? When? Don’t hit me up for new info when you have the power of the blog. In America, the president signs bills that congress passes. If you believe that all of the people who have to face re-election are going to suddenly tax us under the table, then that’s what you believe.
Can we take a moment to go over what McCain is going to do? Is he running on the “I’m not as bad as he is” platform? First off, he is not reducing social security. That is by far the largest entitlement program. He is going to lower taxes for who? For how long? The truth is that if taxes (revenue) don’t go up and we don’t reduce the national debt, we will truly be up a creek.
And at this point, this site isn’t a John McCain site, it’s an anti Obama site. And if you were going to get some swing voters to vote for McCain, I would have thought you would tell people what John was going to for the country, instead of telling people what Obama was going to do to it.

And that's just what he's saying today. He's proposed nearly a trillion dollars in new spending, and his "corporate loopholes" ploy will be lucky to raise 1/5 of that -- and will cause producers to raise their prices and pass the tax along to you, the consumer.
Obama on a good tax is a typical tax-and-spend liberal; and that's if you ignore his hard-left radical past, from which we can infer a wholehearted attempt to redistribute income along Marxist lines. It's also just reviewing tax policy; his draconian cap-and-trade will drive energy prices through the roof (and no, McCain's version is nowhere near as drastic.)

Do you file income taxes? Do you make enough money to see a tax rate % change occur? We pay taxes based on a sliding rate.
3% of 275,000 is 8250. 10% of 100 is 10 and neither of these numbers has anything to do with the tax I was referring to.
In the video, it is clearly stated that nothing changes until 250,000. At that point, the tax will go to 39% instead of 36%. It already changes to 36% at 250,000. Now. Even as we type. if the tax is increased 3% at 250,000, he would only pay 3% more on the 25000 above 250000. He would already be paying 36% on that 25000. The tax INCREASE, above what it is TODAY, would be; .03 times 25000 = 750.
You knew he doesn’t get to keep the money if he raises taxes, right? And if he is an elitist and won’t help his own relatives, why is he going to give the money to people who don’t work? You folks have so many charges and theories about or against Obama. And I don’t have a problem with that People interpret things differently. What I don’t understand is the “why” of these charges. If the “why” is that he is a socialist, it doesn’t mean anything because congress is not. If it is some great conspiracy, I don’t think it is. For one main reason. You can’t have more votes than there are registered voters in a district. All the names are recorded when you vote so you have to know who wasn’t going to be there to use their name to place a vote. Election officials track the number of voters, historically. If a district that always been around 42% suddenly goes to 70%, that will raise a red flag you can see in Dallas. Pretty sure there is a trigger % number they would look at. They would began the audit process on the district. Stop and think about the rumors and blogs before you pass them on.

These are simply false statements. We cast secret ballots in the United States. That is the law in ALL 50 states. Once a ballot is in the Ballot Box it cannot be removed because you cannot tell who cast which ballot.

If you throw the bi-partisan Election Board members out of the polling place the only people checking are the single party running the polls - in the case of these Philadelphia precincts Democrats.
You can attempt to prosecute the election officials - but since all the witness were thrown out - there is no evidence.
Happened in Washington state four years ago. Thousands of more ballots cast than voters signing into the polls, but, votes counted and no one prosecuted because of lack of evidence of fraud rather than just forgetting to write names down.. Mistakes were made, too bad, all the votes were counted.
History has shown that when a single party is in control of the ballot boxes is when massive voter fraud occurs.

This operative is trying to imply that if "all" members of the bi-partisan board were thrown out of the poling places there would be no Democrats in control of the Ballot Boxes to commit fraud.
That is simply a flat out LIE.
The truth is the election officials left in physical control of the ballot boxes after all the bi-partisan election board are thrown out are from a single party.
In the case of these polling places in Philadelphia that means democrats only have physical control of the ballot boxes. They can commit fraud at will with out having to worry about any bi-partisan witnesses around to testify against them or call the police to stop it from continuing.
Do not be confused by these lies by Obama Campaign Operatives. Honest people have trouble thinking like the type of people who would commit massive voter fraud, but if you think for a minute about how one would create the conditions for ballot box stuffing it all becomes clear.

Because the electronic voting machines have not been certified as “failsafe” yet. It doesn’t track who got your vote, it tracks your number. Can paper be stuffed? If they don’t have proper security for the ballots. Because of the nature of box stuffing, it is done to influence local elections. This also relies on the ability to steal ballots from thousands and thousands of precincts. Because of the local elections that are on the same ballot and may not be the next precinct over.
