Foul Language On The Web
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 8:06 PM
Interesting study at The News Bucket.  I think Dean is responsible for my 38 number.

We did well!
The only site with less obscenity was the Evangelical Outpost and they had 34. If we can get Hugh to clean it up just a bit, there will be no keeping us out of that top place!

It might be an age issue.
What do the numbers look like without Mary Katherine Ham's guest blogging?

Could also be a "Sopranos" factor now that you have the Giuliani/Ruffini syndicate basing operations here. Too many people getting whacked. Agita oftens leads to foul language.

Carlin's words used by conservative blo
I would like to see the numbers adjusted to take away the times that the conservative blogs used the words in quotations from the liberal blogs. I would wager that they would be reduced significantly.

Amanda Marcotte's response to the study
You guys need to drop in over to Pandagon and have a chuckle at Marcotte's response to this. As if she hasn't already done enough damage to the Edwards campaign, she just keeps right on doing it. As if nobody associates her with him now. A real energizer bunny she is......still going.

It's a regular profanity-fest over there, now just for the fun of it, almost like a modern-day love-in in reverse.

Oh, and she's claiming it's censorship. Heh. Pretty funny stuff.

Limited Vocabulary
I had several gramar school teachers who said that resorting to invective indicated a limited vocabulary. On the other hand if you don't have ideas you must resort to emotion. Some believe the easiest way to stir up emotion and show how serious they are is to use invective.

Just the seven
I thought the seven words to be very limiting in terms of the vulgarity used by the left. They have a much larger vocabulary in vulgarity than that. One comforting concept is that when they start with the vulgarity, you know they are limited in intelligence and knowledge and thus can discount their opinions.

The other concept that is different from right wing bloggers is the amount of personal attacks. Rather than presenting a legitimate argument, they will attack an individual, often with no justification for their opinion.

Ultimately you stop arguing with them as you are disgusted and know that you are conversing with either a child or someone of limited intelligence.

Libs STILL Don't Get IT!

David,

The four-lettered words and insults don't mean anything anymore cuz they are overused and, thus, no longer shock anybody. They count for wind only. The Libs don't realize it. They think they are still effective cuz, to them, we are supposed to be like them, and, in their minds, they would react that way. They can't believe that we don't.
