Good Morning America Goes After Huckabee
Posted by: Hugh Hewitt at 8:03 PM
Here's the teaser story on tomorrow's broadcast.  The opening:

A Missouri mother says she will do "whatever it takes" to stop former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee from becoming president, because he freed the man who went on to rape and murder her daughter, Carol Sue Shields.
This story is another big problem for Huckabee, and my interview with Huckabee discussed in depth in late October.

My interview with political consultant Patrick Davis who is running the independent expenditure effort to help Huckabee which Huckabee has asked be stopped will be posted here later.

Given all the hits Huckabee has taken in the last four days, the question becomes: Where will the folks who drop him move their allegiances?  To the collapsed campaign of Fred? to the long-and-sdeeply-disliked-by-party-regulars McCain? To Rudy?  The likeliest landing zone is Team Romney, though making the sale to the undecideds and the newly detached depends a lot on The Speech.

The illegal immigrant yard worker story is of zero consequence to voters.  Romney's 60 and on the road running for president.  Ann Romney's on the campaign trail as well.. The kids are grown and gone.  Romney ordered the company not to employ illegals.  It did so anyway and he fired the company when informed of it.  Trying to make that a big story is simply laughable, and the fact that the Globe staked out the Romney home for three months tells a  lot of center-right voters just how invested in beating Romney the left wing agenda journalists at the Globe --and elsewhere-- are.

It is also all the dirt they can find on Romney after five years of trying.  Voters who want no surprises about the GOP nominee in the fall of '08 are figuring out that Romeny is a man of great character and zero skeletons.  Be assured the Globe would have found them by now.
