Brownback Blog: Romney Not Really Pro-Life
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 6:12 PM

On Friday, I blogged about the Brownback vs. Romney rivalry

As if to prove my point -- the very next day -- the Brownback folks posted this

what brownback romney rivalry?
Brownback, as good of a person he is, has no chance against Romney. There is no rivarly. Brownback has never even registered in a poll. Romney continues to increase. Brownback does not compare to Romney is executive ability and genius. We need an administrator not a legislature. Just mentioning that there is a rivalry between the two is misleading. I like Brownback but he has no chance of being president.

Brownback "entitled" to Catholic vote ?

Matt,

In that Brownback vs. Romney blog post on Friday, you wrote;
***********
"It's a simple turf battle; Brownback's campaign believes Romney is a poseur on conservative issues -- and worse -- is getting Catholic support that should rightly belong to Brownback."
************

First of all, do you actually have sources within the Brownback campaign who assert that the Catholic vote "belongs" to Brownback ?

And if it is true that the Brownback campaign believes their man is "entitled" to the Catholic vote, would the Brownback campaign likewise expect conservatives who are Catholic to also support fellow Catholics such as Teddy Kennedy, Pat Leahy, Dick Durbin, and John Kerry ?
(You see the irony there, right ?)

People should vote based on issues, leadership, and electability---not on theology.
Not-so-ironically, that's the premise of Hugh's new book.

Brownback is uninspiring, and that's why he's not raising very much money.
His campaign should neither blame his failings as a candidate on Mitt Romney, nor on religion.

Pathetic
It seems as if my bullfrog and bull comparison is correct.

Puzzling
Are we talking about the "open-borders" champion Brownback? That guy? I guess he's getting ahead of the curve and attacking the front runner before Mitt even gets there? Hard to figure.
