Warning to Dems: Don't Mock the GOP Veep
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 10:16 AM
The Chicago Tribune says it's Palin.

Pollster Peter Hart tells MSNBC's Chuck Todd that Dems better be careful of mocking Sarah Palin.  He says there is a twenty-year pattern at work here ...

... In '68 Dems mocked Spiro Agnew (Nixon won).

... In '88 Dems mocked Dan Quayle (Bush won).

... In '08 ???

No Tom Ridge
I woke up this morning thinking it might be Sarah, turned over in bed and saw Tom Ridge staring at me.

I am going to get sick. Please don't let it be.

Tom Ridge would be a terrible joke, not a wonderful surprise.

Why Mock The VP?
When the nominee is a Trojan Horse Democrat?

A vote for McCain is a vote for amnesty and cap and trade.

Vote American, pick a third party candidate. We don't need 2 traitorous parties.

Palin
What can the Dems say about Palin? She defeated an incumbent governor in the Republican primary then a former Democratic governor in the general election in 2006. Do the Democrats really want to challenge her on the experience issue? She is attractive, has five children, one who has downs syndrome. I would love to see the Democrats go after a woman who has five children including one with downs syndrome on the abortion issue. She has shelved pork projects. She supports drilling. She is pro-life and is against same sex marriages.

Any liberal attack on her will fail and possibly backfire!

Tom Ridge
Now I am hearing that it might be Tom Ridge. This is another big NO . . . BIG PRO-CHOICE person. Also many Republicans that live in PA say they did not like Ridge and would not vote.

McCain's VP Choice
Just heard that Sarah Palin is still in Alaska. It doesn't sound like it is going to be her.

I also heard that it might be Meg Whitman, Ebay. From what I hear she is pro-choice, thereby losing the conservative base. She is also not ready to step in as Commander-in-Chief if something should happen to McCain.

McCain could have played it safe, which according to most people, say McCain had the opportunity to do, because at this point in time Obama is only 5-6 points ahead of McCain.

Those in the political know say the only time you throw something different and unsafe out there is when your opponent is maybe 15-20 points ahead.

This choice of McCain's better not be a "stick this" to the conservative base. If it is, Obama will be our next President.
