My dad will certainly lose his job as a result of the "stop glo-bull warming so we can afford universal healthcare" bill. My parents are talking more and more seriously about selling the house now instead of a few years from now and getting out while they still can.
Like you said...how can the so called "improvements" be financed when you are unemployed? Ironic...my dad works for an energy company and has slaved for the last 6 years installing the scrubbers and revamping power plants to make coal produced energy more environmentally friendly, but they won't be able to afford to stay open after all that work, time away from his family, time traveling for months at a time to plants in other states or different parts of the state, and it will all be for absolutely NOTHING. So that he has no job and an "inefficient" house that he cannot sell. (Not to mention the new $5000 a year electric bill)

Here are some instructions that the average Patriot could act on:
1) Advertise and Promote the Fact that you are forming a Grand Jury in Blogs, Local Newspapers and Community Organizations.
2) Form the Grand Jury and select a Foreman.
3) Select a Private Attorney General to make Presentments to Grand Jury, if local DA refuses to make presentments.
4) Select a convenient Meeting Place.
4) Communicate with all Citizens who have criminal information to present.
6) Schedule presentments by said Citizens.
7) Subpoena documents from Government Offices and Officials.
8) Schedule presentment of said Documents to Grand Jury by Grand Jury Attorney General.
7. Have Grand Jury Attorney General present said Documents to Grand Jury.
8) After investigation and deliberation is completed, vote and issue a True Bill (Indictment) or No True Bill.
9) Announce all Indictments to the Press.
10) Serve the Indictment on the Judiciary for the Issuance of Arrest Warrants.

I read the bill. I will now have to spend thousands of dollars to make my house "environmentally" sound in order to sell it, on top of paying more f**kking taxes.
Never mind that we are unemployed again, have not sold our house in a year and will be moving back. Should my husband get a new job elsewhere, we won't be able to sell, because we can't afford the improvements.
There is nothing right about that. Nothing at all. If the senate passes this bill, we are all in trouble, and you idiot lefties can't understand what is happening because the music is too loud.

This woman does not really care what the bill says. She is only accountable to Obama. Obama will tell her what stand to take and what to do. If she really was interested she would have spent the weekend reading and learning what this was all about before she took to the Monday morning air waves. She was asked a question on Fox that every commentator should have asked. Her arrogance reflects that of her boss. Just listen and do not question. You the American people have no right to know. All she could keep repeating is that this would create a bunch of "green industry" jobs. Building windmills and solar panels is going to save our economy. The guys get more stupid by the day and we are only 6 months in.... SO this is actually a jobs bill, a job destroying bill...never once would she call it what it is, a tax on all energy we use in the united states. |

I have heard that the bill that was voted on in the House was not complete. Does anyone have any knowledge of this argument? If this is true, the House just voted on a non-item which should render it null and void. Any information in this regard would be much appreciated. |

....(a reliable conservative) says this vote will never even be considered in the Senate. He says as the votes were being counted last week, the Republicans were chanting "BTU, BTU..." to remind dems of the btu tax they passed a few years ago that costed them lots of seats....

Napolitano did not read the publication released by her department either.
Her staff released,
"Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."
She attempted to warn America about Americans. It does clarify that law-abiding citizens are also stockpiling weapons but the report fails to specify how law enforcement should differentiate between an "extremist" and a concerned citizen.
Apparently, Napolitano had not versed herself on this.
The report continues and indicts citizens concerned about the implications of various free-trade agreements and illegal-immigration. It acknowledges that "[d]ebates over appropriate immigration levels and enforcement policy generally fall within the realm of protected political speech," only to continue with the warning that "in some cases, anti-immigration or strident pro-enforcement fervor has been directed against specific groups and has the potential to turn violent."
Most of the home grown terrorism of the past 14 years has been attempted or perpetrated by radical Muslims (both illegal and legal) and left-wing eco-terrorist groups. Examples include ELF, the attempted murder of soldiers at Fort Dix, NJ, the 9/11 attacks, and the Jose Padilla Bomb Plot. Thousands of violent gang members and drug runners have been pouring over the southern border ever year. Despite all of these clear and present dangers, Janet Napolitano and her Department of Homeland Security decided to create and distribute a report that focuses solely on the potential "threat" from the RIGHT-WING, hard evidence for which they do not cite. It’s interesting that she allowed the report to so clearly target an ideology in its title.

Inhoff has been assuring us today that there is no way, no how this "bill". They need 60 votes; they only have 30-something.
And oh yeah, there's that problem of the EPA squelching one of their best scientist's report that they need to calm down and not pass cataclysmic legislation on speculative science.

Go on Google and type in "Steve Doocy" - three or four down the list they give in the pop down menu is "Steve Doocy Idiot". There's reason for that. It is a rare legislator who reads entire bills, but the Republicans have virtually nothing of substance to complain about, and certainly nothing that has any staying power. So we have this video, and now we are all made quite aware of how desperate the Party has become. |

that the business of governing there at Rome on the Potomac has simply gotten too big for them all. That there's accordingly not enough time to read the bills they pass into law. That maybe our nation should devolve into smaller geopolitical units which are easier to govern. That maybe the powers of central government (or *governments*, should said devolution ever occur) ought to be few and defined. That maybe the Confederates, while wrong about slavery, were right about secession. (They followed Jefferson and other early anti-Federalist types in this regard.)
