the Dems don't want to admit. Go Newt!!! |

Here is the link to the full version of the Newt - Allen interchange. - Much more good stuff from Newt.: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/26518401#26518401 |

I have never seen a MSM hatchet job like what they are doing to Governor Palin Ever. Well, let me take that back, Clarence Thomas was close but at least they left his family out of it. I was listening to Glenn Beck this morning and he expressed exactly the same sentiments about these attacks being obscene. I was thinking exactly the same thing. Any of you thinking that too?
Memo to Gov. Palin: Ignore the MSM. Of course you need to ask them to back off your kids, but beyond that direct your words to the American voters. Be positive and direct. They will love you for it. They are the audience you need to woo, not the MSM. |
|
This is exactly what the response needs to be when Palin's experience is questioned. Not the wishy washy "McCain will mentor her" approach. Newt is right - she's the most accomplished and experienced executive of all four.
One more thing I'd add to Newt's comments . . .
Obama started his political carreer confronted by a vast and often corrupt political system in Chicago. He began a dialogue with that system, negotiated with it, and ultimated embraced it and became a product of that system.
Palin, facing an equally vast and corrupt political system chose to fight it, expose it and ultimately defeat it.
Tell me again about experience, tell me again about judgment. |
|
|
He could list those accomplishments without hesitating. He is a man to have on your side. |
|
But I have never seen anything approaching the attacks on this woman. Why not wait at least until they get to know her a bit? Why jump so quickly on the MSM bandwagon before giving her a chance to at least give he convention speech.
Experience? They want to go there? Shouldn't we expect a presidential nominee to have at least as much or more experience than a VP nominee? She is more experienced than Obama.
Now, in full disclosure, I vote for president and not VP, and I am not planning on voting for McCain because I don't vote for liberals, but I see nothing to criticize about Sarah Palin, in fact, if she were at the top of the ticket I could vote for it. Wait, the heartbeat away argument...tempting. |
|
Lou Dobbs has said, "The media is in the tank for Obama" and he is right. Sarah Palin upsets the media and the left because women and blacks are not supposed to be conservatives. Friday night Campbell Brown opened her shor on CNN by basically saying, "Let's discuss why this woman is unqualified."
The GOP should make a commercial with featuring clips of Chris Matthews, Campbell Brown, etc. proving to the American people that Dobbs is right. |

Replay this tape over and over and over... |

A liberal blogger notes the hypocrisy of these attacks on Palin:
We surrendered something a whole lot more valuable than our vote. We surrendered our principles. We surrendered our core values. We surrendered all hope. We surrendered our shared dreams that our daughters would inherit a better world, a world of promise, equality, justice, fairness and honor. We had dreamed of a world where our 17 years old daughters wouldn't be striped naked and raped on the front page of the New York Times, above the fold. We dreamed of a world where a candidate, man or woman, could run for the highest office in the land and not be "swiftboated" with sexual lies and slander so vicious, so cruel, so gross and destructive that they actually wither our very soul. I actually believed we were better than that. I actually believed "swiftboating" was the sole property of Republicans. I actually believed we wanted to debate the issues. I actually believed we wanted the real change so eloquently promised by Senator Barack Obama. I actually believed we wanted a better world for our sons and our daughters. So I thought the extremely bizarre story, so obvious a blatant lie, that somehow appeared in The Daily Kos, claiming Governor Sarah Palin had somehow faked her own pregnancy to cover up for her wayward teenage daughter would be laughed off and quickly vanish form the Kos pages like the trash it was. It was a joke, A sad, sick joke. But instead of the aborted fetus it should have been, it was born full grown into the waiting arms of liberal bloggers and journalists, who quickly passed out cigars and congratulated themselves as proud mamas and papas. All this in spite of the fact that absolutely everyone knew the story was an absolute lie. The only thing we aborted was the truth.

'bout time the gop starts playing hard ball. Take it to'em!!!!
America loves a fighter! |

Newt is right. The only thing Obama has ever done is talk and write, mostly about himself and his life story, which he seems to make up as he goes along. Even his own family members dispute certain parts of his story.
But you won't hear this from the media, which doesn't care whether Obama is lying or not, which doesn't care whether he is qualified or not, which doesn't care whether he has a clue. All the media wants is to help elect the guy they helped to choose. What happens next is of no real interest.
I'm no fan of McCain, and I'm really not sure what I'll do come November, but the BS the media is spewing about Palin's qualifications is amazing in its arrogance. These people have spent months telling us being a "community organizer" and an absent Senator is more than enough "experience" for the presidency. Suddenly they want to argue whether running the largest state in the union is sufficient. And they wonder why most of us don't pay attention to CNN anymore?
|
|
I second all the comments above.
BTW: Where was the MSM when questtioning BO's 20 year affiliation with Rev Wrong? Didn't they just swallow whole BO's BS when he gave his teleprompter speech on race calling Rev Wrong a crazy uncle who was the black counterpoint to his typical white grandma cracker. Where was the hardnosed questioning or did they just go along with "I really was never there when anyone made those types of comments!"
Everyone knew this was absolute crap but out of deference and awe of the messiah did not call him on it. |
|
I was ASTOUNDED at the level of ridicule and bias last night shown on CNN! Wolf, Anderson Cooper, David Gergen, Ms Brown, etc. The "pack" of them in unity desparaged the convention (Old White Guys) and ridiculed Gov Palin.
There is a war happening - and the 90% of the media has taken off their "mask" once called OBJECTIVITY and are plainly pushing for Obama to win.
I simply could not believe the comments these people were making. |
|
|
If we don' t listen to them and support their leftist program of lies and deceit, maybe they will eventually go away. I watch FOX for Fair and Balanced News. (Except for the Crypt Keeper, Alan Colmes that is.) |
|
|
And yeah, the coverage was pathetic. I'm not sure who they think they're influencing positively for their candidate sounding so petty, but I guess I should welcome it as I think it's helping McCain/Palin more than hurting them. |
|
I am just wondering when the time comes that advertisers start expelling the MSM from their ad budgets much like bad shellfish. The MSM is nothing more than huge 527's parading under the constitutional banner and protections for a 'free media' and trying to force a true facist change (read Jonah Goldberg's book to learn more...)in this country.
Their treatment of Palin could be the final straw...I cannot help but to think this country is seeing thru all this; and that there will be he!! to pay by both the MSM and the now-gutted of sense and decency Demoncratic Party.
Great job Newt! 'All Obama's done is talk and write' is a GREAT observation! |
|
Thank God for Fox and lately Glen Becks TV show. Obama avoided the one talk show, Fox, that did not ignore his faults etc,. How on earth can he be a uniter/leader if he plays it safe etc,? Finally, he musters up the courage to speak to those who promote his opponent more then him! He will never have the guts to talk to Foxes Sean Hannity, ha! Ex Democrat |
|
Forget CNN, MSNBC and even FOX. All of those just put far-left and far-right loons on, and let them attack each other. That's not coverage, it's crap.
Charlie Rose has been giving excellent coverage. He brings on a panel of political experts, and they discuss everything reasonably. No spin. No bias. No soundbites. They make informed analysis of specific's. It's quite refreshing.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching Charlie Rose's coverage. You should check it out.

COMMERCIAL TIME!!! This should be used for one of the main national commercials used by the McCain campaign because, well, it just about says it all...(and it's less than a minute)... |
|
|
WHAT HAS OBAMA DONE-LET ME SEE HE LOVES ICE CREAM,HE LIKES TO BE FILMED EATING LUNCH,HE VOTED TO KILL A BABY EVEN IF IT SURVIVES A ABORTION.HE LIKES WILLIAM AYERS A TERRORIST FRIEND OF HIS.HIS MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN.AND THE LIBERALS-THE RADICAL-DEMS ARE WORRIED ABOUT PALIN???????WOW THIS REALY IS THE CNN TWLIGHT-ZONE!!!!????????. |
|
|
Of course by Gingrich's reckoning, Palin is more "experienced" than John McCain. |
|
|
I agree. I flipped it over to CNN last night and was dumbfounded when Toobin said he thought this was a bad image night for the GOP since they only showed 'old white guys'. Well it's the 'old white guys' that always have to come in an clean up the mess that liberals always make when they get the keys to the candy store. Look at Carter, Clinton, numerous state and local governments over the years. When the Marxists get control, through tax increases, expansion of government, corruption and cronysim, they leave office with a mess. And time after time after time, the 'old white guys' have to come in and play grown up and clean the mess up. Case in point...Reagan after Carter and W after Clinton. It may take this country electing the most extreme Marxist yet for normal and middle America to realize you just cannot trust your freedom and the business of this country to a Marxist......esp. one from the Chicago Machine. |
|
Have you heard the sound clip yet of Obama?? He ridicules her being a mayor (ignoring her being a sitting Govenor) and then proceeds to tell us how he has "managed" his campaign!
LMAO
Really... "running for President" qualifies you to BE President??
He's making it TOO easy for McCain! |
|
|
If it was not for a very few good TV programs, the major networks would be off the air. With total idiots like Katie Currick trying to act intellegent, the major networks news coverage is a total joke. They are nothing more than Obama cheerleaders. Katie needs to check it in and stay home and take care of her home and child. After all, if she expects Palin to be a mother first, why wouldn't the same expectations apply to her? |
|
|
NO SPIN??!! Rose is a card carrying liberal...wow, kool aid anyone? |
|
Oh there WAS a convention yesterday...lets check the MSM's top stories the day after:
Democrats attack Lieberman, saying he lied to delegates Dems blast Lieberman, say he lied to delegates - CNN --- GOP convention protest arrests tally nearly 300 Copyright 2008 Associated Press. All rights reserved. --- Analysis: GOP convention marked by nostalgia CNN News --- Romney readies for White House run if McCain fails Presidency and vice presidency now gone for 2008, Romney positions for a second run in 2012 - AP News
PATHETIC!!! Three days PRIOR to Obama's speech we had to hear how "historic" it was from the MSM...over and over.
Not a peep about the historic nature of Palin's opportunity.
I'm tired of the MSM and how they continue to get away with this is beyond me. How can the MSM work for a candidate! It's criminal.
|
|
|
More Republicans need to start, "I'm not taking your BS" like Gingrich here with the media. Tony Snow had his moments of doing the same and i found myself breathing "finally!". We need more of this, not less. The media has been outright hostile along party lines for waaaay too long. No more small backhanded comments, they need to stand up and address the crap right in their faces just like Newt is doing here. Perfect. |
|
If McCain isn't tough enough to stand up to Larry King (!), how can we expect him to tough talk with real enemies?
What a bunch of victocrats the GOP are this week! |
|
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how it's done!
Actually, I've been pretty pleased by those defending Palin in the MSM. For the most part, they are talking back and refusing to be browbeat into submission.
My wife tried this at her Friends of the Library meeting last night when someone was dissing Palin for her lack of experience. The person she challenged was left speechless, just like the guy in the video above. Try it in your community. It works! |
|
"The Candidate" - lots of parallels but - thankfully - up to the ending. Robert Redford runs as a Dem candidate for the Senate just because he "feels" some issues need to be addressed. Totally unqualified to run for the office but very charismatic and can talk up a storm. Idealistic to begin with, he gets corrupted by his handlers and ends up believing the speeches they script for him. In the end he wins - but - the movie ends with a bewildered Redford sitting in the limo asking himself - "Now, what do I do?" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068334/plotsummary I think we, the people, have given up too much in our quest for "me". We didn't pay attention to career politicians making all kinds of laws that, when implemented, eroded basic freedoms. We let them spend us into economic disaster - yada yada yada. In short, ultimately "we" are responsible for the less than mediocre choices we are presented with for POTUS. I wrote a blog that gives my reasons for voting McCain-Palin '08 - to long to post - read it here: http://dazinger.blogtownhall.com/default.aspx People - we need to rein in the extremists on both sides of the issue here. They don't want to discuss or even argue facts and reality - they only want to label people and address them as "enemy" unless they fit the label they have assessed to themselves. Only then can we have any meaningful dialog. |
|
I am not a great fan of McCain or Palin, I really think the GOP could have done much better. But, Obama is woefully unqualified to be President. Biden is little better since he is nothing more than a career Senator with many flawed and well proven, failed ideas concerning Foreign Policy.
I am sick of the far left MSM, especially MSNBC. This country is seeing the self destruction of the modern media. They have lost all credibility. They are not journalists, they are all in the tank for the DEM party and especially Obama.
Kieth Olbermann is among the very worst. Here is a second rate, rather ignorant ex-sportscaster who has found his niche as a shill for the far left. He is no longer a journalist or even a news reader, but simply a highly paid propagandist in the pockets of the leftists in this country. He is a disgrace. In fact, the left leaning journalism schools in this country are all a disgrace. They are simply propaganda mills for the far left.
If the moderates and conservatives in the country can arise victorious in the face of one of the most aggressive propaganda machines since Goebbels and the Third Reich (and my comparison to the Nazis is NOT a mistake) it will show the real strength of the American people. Rise-up people, we must defeat this elitist, far left propaganda machine. The shortest path to victory is to SIMPLY IGNORE THEM! These are ignorant, poorly educated people (journalism schools provide very a shallow and biased education). They have no real, deeply held beliefs. They simply work from the daily leftist talking points they receive by E-mail and FAX every morning. If you don't believe there aree daily talking points, maybe we should begin to post these on TH every day, except they are trademarked and copyrighted. |

"My wife tried this at her Friends of the Library meeting last night when someone was dissing Palin for her lack of experience."
Hilarious. Palin got slammed when she tried to FIRE THE WASILLA CITY LIBRARIAN because Palin wanted certain books BANNED. Palin had to back off because the librarian was beloved. Friends of the Library!
Does your wife know this? Tell her. |

You can deflect and dodge and make up you little faux truths a la Kimberly, but the fact remains that your boy is nothing but a turd in a suit.
What are your plans for the next four years of Republican Administration? Peaceful protest? Or will you join with the anarchists....? |

Newt is awesome!!! We need to get ALL conservatives to start responding like this. AMERICA needs to wakeup and realize that the media (and their lawyers) are really the ones running this country and thanks to the department of education, each year it is getting more and more difficult to educate our young people about what is really at stake, since the DOE has determined that social re-engineering is much more important than teaching our children about our country's history. To quote Winston Churchill: "If you are not a liberal by 21, you have no heart. If you are not a conservative by 40, you have no brains." |
|
I wish McCain would make this into a commercial. Just toss this clip (the full version, where the reporter gets huffy because Newt's picking on his boy) on during the news, and make sure America sees Newt take this guy to town. I love it, I love it, I love it.
Although I am dismayed to see the dismantling (by women, especially) of the principles of equality for women, every word of negative spin I hear about Governor Palin energizes me to fight harder for her ticket.
McCain/Palin '08. |
|
|
Keep on talking. We thank you for your stupid comments, it is creating massive momentum for this ticket. |
|
as speaker, he gave the benefit of the doubt to the democrats by actually trying to be reasonable and negotiated with them believing they would work to do what's best for the country. He should've but the boot on the neck and moved legislation through. I think he missed the chance to bring back the line item veto. Had he done that, we might not be in such a stink hole budget wise. Oh lest I forget, the commercial with the incredibly ignorant Pelosi. HUGE mistake as acknowledged by Newt himself.
What does impress me is his willingness to exhibit the "fire in the belly" attitude to stifle the liberal media. Between this interview and Fred T.'s speech, I am getting more confidence in the return to conservatism and an end to what I perceive is GOP insecurity. |
|
McCain refused to grant CNN another interview because of their appalling behavior (supposed respected news organization?). He has been interviewed DOZENS of times on all the networks.
Obama has been AFRAID to face hard questions from Fox (Hannity, O'Reilly, etc). Hillary didn't have a problem, but Obambi hasn't been able to man-up?
Nice try, dear.

Facts to toe tag liberals are like Kryptonite to Superman. The Left only likes women if they are liberal, they like liberal Blacks not Conservatives like Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele, Thomas Sowell, etc. Hypocrisy is their middle name.
The fear and desperation that the MSM is showing is all the proof that Patriotic Americans need to validate Palin as a great choice.
This just in from Barry’s campaign – they are now releasing other examples of Barry The Leader: 1) He organized the Third Grade Crossing Guards at his elementary school;
2) He started a club at Harvard on the wise teachings of Malcolm X;
3) He founded in Chicago the Fidel Castro School for Why America Sucks;
4) He helped Mayor Daley organize the New Generation of Corrupt Politicians;
5) He was a leading community organizer for Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March.
The Left will do a fine job torching Barry’s campaign with their partisan, specious lies and the transparency will turn many thinking Americans against them. Leave them alone and let them eat their own young. That is what they are best at and they demonstrate it each election cycle.
|
|
McCain did stand up to Larry King.
He relayed the message that actions have consequences. CNN's actions (especially C.Brown's) were snarky, condescending and anything but objective. Why honor a network with an interview when they act like that?
Today, Soladad O'Brian was incredulous that Palin didn't even have a passport until 2007! She implied that since Palin hasn't jet setted around the world, she is ignorant of other cultures and therefore unqualified to be VP. (No foreign policy experience, don't ya know.)
Below are some interesting statistics. Notice the places where the percentage of people having passports is the hightest. Hint: It is not flyover country.
The current US passport population stands at 18% of US adults. Source : European Travel Commission. The top cities for passport ownership are: New York, 38%; San Francisco, 37%; Miami/Fort Lauderdale, 33%; West Palm Beach, 31%; San Diego, 29%; Los Angeles, 27%; Washington DC, 27%. Source: US Office of Central Statistics
Sorry, Soladad, I don't think that the 82% of Americans who don't have passports are going to count this as a deal breaker. |
|
Charles is right about NBC. They have completely melted down and are incapable of fair and balanced reporting. Mac should demand that Fox take over NBC’s planned debate.
My other concern is Gwen “I’m a charter member of the NAALCP” Eiffel moderating the VP debate. I can’t wait to hear her questions !!! Bring it on !!! Palin is going to hammer all comers and take no prisoners !!! |
|
Can't say for sure, but it has been known to use several monikers....which is wise if you are in fear of being sent to the Stalin disappeared bin like brob. It also exhibits Kimberly traits such as spewing vitriolic nonsense on every thread. We are the lesser for responding, but we all do it....
I have been after it to pick one name that fits and stick with it (my suggestion - Drucila the Malevolent).
|
|
Of course, when Fox mispells Obama as "Osama"...
Grow up GOP. McCain didn't vet Palin and the MSM will. Gosh, and look how nice they were to Clinton and Lewinsky... |
|
You wrote,
"Today, Soladad O'Brian was incredulous that Palin didn't even have a passport until 2007!"
Question: In 1981 Obama visited Pakistan (reportedly) with an Indonesian Passport. Will Soladad ask Obama about THIS issue?
(Considering Indonesia did not permit dual citizenship with the US)
Nahhh... let's just hear more about Palin - the Alaskan Hick. |
|
To let that pinhead phony O'Reilly grill him.
So he's braver than John McCain knowing full well that FOX is a right-wing hatchet job of a genuinely biased network. Who else would hire sleaze-spinner like Karl Rove, who planted lies about McCain's child? |
|
Wrote, "Of course, when Fox mispells Obama as "Osama"...
Gee, Angel, WHO was it on the Senate floor said, "Osama" uh er "Obama" ....
Answer: Ted Kennedy
Gosh, did Obama run like a dog from Teddy? Of course not, they're BFFs.
McCain is playing the left-leaning media like a master. The media is drowning in Obama kool-aid and is pushing independents and moderates to McCain/Palin.
You keep up the attacking, though. When Obambi fails to win Illinois - I'll be here to personally thank YOU. |
|
|
Keep talking you are creating more momentum for the McCain/Palin Ticket. Thanks for your support! |
|
His father was a goat farmer, and he (Obama) has to be goaded.
Goaded into visiting Iraq after McCain calls him out.
Goaded into visiting Fox News (months after Hillary) and taunting by Hannity and O'Reilly.
When OBAMA gets to make the decisions - he chooses basketball.
Can't take a film crew to visit wounded warriors in Germany? Play some b-ball instead.

...is from Idaho, voted Bush twice. Will not be voting McCain/Palin as she's outraged. Don't worry about the left, we're energized by another crazed fundamentalist pro-life, pro-war, pro-death candidate. Worry about folks like my cousin. |
|
List of Books Sarah Palin wanted banned:
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman, Little Red Riding Hood by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, One Day in The Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck ... |
|
Angel66 sounds like a botched abortion. Lucky for her - her mother wasn't in Illinois where they can just leave the baby to die.
Idaho has some fairly conservative views (THANKFULLY) |
|
I think you're a little confused, no surprise there. To correct the record, we aren't worried in the least! In fact we are ecstatic!
I do detect a little concern coming from the ranks of you hate America first bozo's though. In fairness, I do understand. If my candidate was the "Prince of Emptiness", "Pay No Attention to that Soro's Guy Behind the Curtain", the one and only "Wizard of Uh's", well I guess I would feel discouraged myself.
But hey, no reason to take it out on your fellow Americans. Oops, I forgot! You're a card carrying member of that cowardly hate America, love oblama first crowd.
Cheers, Don C |

I watched the Newt interview last night as well. I almost felt sorry for the interviewer, as he was a clueless when asked what Obama had ever done. So much for vetting.
Then, prior to commercial, Olbermann got all snarky, and said that he'd have responses ( though he didn't say it in such a nice way ) to Gingrich's points. Of course, after the commercial break, Olbermann changed the subject. Also funny, Olbermann made fun of Thompson's "coughing" while giving his speech, and noted that he ( Olbermann ) didn't do that when he filled in for Paul Harvey . . . . bascially, saying that Thompson wasn't worthy of filling in for Harvey. WTF? Olbermann's got problems.

Newt is ON the money! This is what all Americans need to hear. And as for NBC.... I don't know how you do it with a straight face or how you can sleep at night. |
