As goes Virginia, so goes the nation?
Posted by: Jonathan Garthwaite at 1:32 AM
Democrats regained control of the State Senate in Tuesday's Virginia legislative elections.  This is the first time since 1995 that Democrats have controlled one of the chambers in Virginia.

Of note:  It was the most expensive legislative campaign cycle in state history.  Over $30 million.

Scary, huh?
And prospects are not good.

I live in Fairfax. Increasingly blue.

I saw a similar piece
on ABC news just last night about how the Democrats are also making inroads in Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and other western states.

Blue New Hampshire, too
I'd say this is quite a statement for today's GOP, yes?

So, what will it take for the criminals in the WH to keep the power - Sneaking a change in the electoral college in CA? Disenfranchisement of voters? Cheating? All of the above? Why not - it's worked before for the party of corruption.

When the reality of our country's devastating GOP rubberstamped problems hits the voting public, the only way the GOP can ever regain power is to cheat, lie, scheme and fearmonger. The coming months to Nov 2008 is looking like it is sure to be a wild ride.

Clifton, Virginia
I live in Clifton, Virginia, and I agree with Virginia Daddy that Fairfax County is gradually becoming a solid blue jurisdiction. We have a lot of federal government workers, minorities, and various other stereotypical liberals in Fairfax County who will undoubtedly rally to the standards of Her Majesty in next year's presidential election. The politically correct environment of Fairfax County and the DC metropolitan area is a bit too much. On a national scale, conservatives need to support the ultimate Republican nominee or face a United States that resembles Fairfax County.

I was married in Clifton! Love it there.

But yes, Fairfax is getting pretty entrenched in blue. This morning driving to work listening to WTOP I couldn't help but think it may be worth it to move to Loudon or someplace less blue.

And you are right, we need to wake up.
