Obama Pounces on Palin
Posted by: Matt Lewis at 12:43 PM
It is interesting that the first attack on Palin is that she comes from a small town.  Here's the official Obama response:

"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain's commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush's failed economic policies -- that's not the change we need, it's just more of the same."

McCain's Poor Choice
Obama's exceptional speech, which included many specific methods of restoring the United States tattered standing in the world, coupled with McCain's stunningly-poor choice of Vice President have put me firmly in the Obama camp. McCain has selected a beauty queen with no world experience to be one heartbeat away from Commander-in-Chief. I cannot image Ms. Palin countering effectively against Putin or the President of Iran or any other world bully. If he was seeking a qualified female running mate, Mr. McCain certainly had many more stellar choices: Heather Wilson, a 1982 US Air Force Academy graduate, Rhodes Scholar, and House Representative from NM comes to mind immediately. So does Kay Bailey Hutchison. I respect Mr. McCain for his military service, but I really question his judgement. I think his choice of running mate actually poses a national security threat to this country.

The neo-cons have run this country into the ground. This is not the party of Ronald Reagan. Our economy is unsound and I feel we are dangerously isolated. Obama's pledge of 'no new taxes' and restoring our civil liberties inspires me more than 'more of the same' from the neo-con Republicans.

McCain's choice of VP is actually an insult to me as a woman and independent thinker. He trumpets his own experience over Obama and then selects this lightweight as running mate?? C'mon. Even Kay Bailey Hutchison was flumoxed on CNN this morning when asked about this gal..

Sarah Palin is excellent
Wow!

Sarah just finished speaking. What an amazing, passionate speaker. She rivals Obama in the gift of speaking. She can really fire up a crowd.

Her experience and passion to work in a bipartisan way to solve problems is what this nation needs. McCain picked a winner!

The Obama camp will attack her, and that's fine. I look forward to watching her debate slow joe biden. He's in trouble.

Oy!
"Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency."

So instead we should put a barely-there Senator with no foreign policy experience directly into the presidency?

F Powell writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 12:53 PM
Huh?!
Let's see, has actually RUN a government, unlike a certain Presidential candidate for the dems. Talk about a lack of foreign experience, hmmm. Just exactly what foreign experience does Barac have? Hmmm Barac community organizer, Palin, Gov of the largest state in the union.

tough choice.
seansfm writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 12:54 PM
Exactly
McCain spokeswoman on Fox says the same.

What a dumb response from team Obama.

McCain camp ALREADY countering while stealing thunder from The one.

This is amazing. McCain is running a masterful campaign against the Obama/media/money juggernaut.

I read this possible response on The Corner and thought there would be no way that the Obama team would be that inept. Oh, well, that's judgement for you.

Palin
All I can say is "WOW!". I just watched her intro and she absolutely blew me away. She was clear, concise, on theme, likeable and I think the independent and Hillary blue-collar voters are going to love her. She is a plus, plus, plus for the USA!

Obama camp insults small town voters
The elitist reaction to McCain's stupendous VP choice is an insult to all small town voters. Gov. Palin is a real person from a town like any in America. She rose through the ranks by hard work (not government handouts); integrity and political skill. What a refreshing choice for our next VP! All I can say is I am totally off the fence now about support the McCain-Palin ticket. Now the country has a very clear and stark choice for this election: elect an elitist, left wing, Socialist snob or a war hero, conservative, pro-life real person. Somehow I think Small Town, USA will choose the latter.
JimP writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 1:07 PM
RE PALIN
I think BHO's campaign is making a mistake. How much foreign policy experience does Obama have? Whatever he may claim, it is essentially zero and he is running for the top spot. Please, 160+ days in the Senate gives him foreign policy experience? LOL How much did Bill Clinton have, or Jimmy Carter, or any governor who was elected Pres.? If McCain's campaign addresses the issue appropriately they can ram it right back down Obama's throat. They almost picked Tim Kaine as VP! Everyone knows they only went with Biden because they couldn't get away with TWO rookies on the ticket. We know what Barry's instincts are on foreign policy. I bet Palin's instincts are similar to Reagan's. No, if Obama is smart he will stay away from this issue, IMO. The idea that serving in Washington automatically gives a candidate worthy foreign policy experience is not accurate.

The small town statement does appear to belittle small town Americans given Obama's prior condescension, IMHO. Big oil agenda(?): Guffaw! Not gonna work with her record.

Lastly, this just looks like a lame attempt to get back some of Barry's MO & MOJO that he lost today. HA. I love watching the Dems squirm and shoot themselves in the foot. LOL. It looks like it is going to be real fun the next couple of months.

Where was that teleprompter when he needed it? I'm sure someone could have typed something a little more intelligent for him to read.

I was waiting to see who McCain would pick. Not only did he not disappoint, he made a game-changing.

I just went and showed John McCain my support by giving at http://www.johnmccain.com and you should too.

This election will now be about not only taking down the One, it will also be about putting real change in the White House.

'0' bring on experience, where is yours?
Joe, we agree! Obama didn't have the good sense
to pick the heavyweight over the lightweight Biden, which turned off the women etc,. So what if Sara doesn't have the foreign expertise, she isn't going to be the DECIDER! Americans should worry about a possible "Rookie" Obama, who has to depend on Biden for those answers?! Ex Democrat
Steve writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 1:17 PM
Obama Camp Is Scrambling
It's obvious they weren't prepared for McCain to make such a bold yet wise choice. Their response belittles small-town residents, and shows their ignorance of what the word "reform" actually means. I don't think Obama has done any reforming throughout his short government career, yet he preaches "change" like it's in his job description. All talk, nothing to back it up - typicaly Dem candidate!

OB: Want some CHANGE with that WHINE?
The Question: How will palin "match up" with Biden?

WHO CARES! Palin's record "Wallops" Obama's record!

The REAL Question: Who has more experience for the presidency: Palin or Obama?

Look at the FACTS: The answer is CLEAR.

Obama, would you like some change with that whine? You can find it in PALIN!

Are you all GOP Stepford idiots?!? She is exactly what the Obama camp says she is. A completely inexperienced self-proclaimed hockey mom from the most ineffectual most sparsely populated state of this Union(aside from it's precious black gold you covet so much). The GOP just drowned themselves in it. Good luck against Biden and have fun with the Dems running all three branches for the next 8!

You can tell that the McCain team
caught the oblama team with their pants down around their ankles! What a ridiculous response!

I'll bet that small town mayor comment goes over well with the guns and religion clingers!

Hey Peter!
The polls show that 83% of TH contributors support Govenor Palin and by extention the talking points!

You see, we do our homework as opposed to swallowing a load of hope & change from the community organizer oblama! Hope & change without the means to change anything is, well it is just hopeless!

By the way, did you get your talking points from team oblama? How sad to learn that they pee'd on their shoes while trying to find a response to Sarah Palin.

Experience? You must be joking! That's the one issue oblama should stay away from! Govenor Palin has more experience than the "I am the One We Have Been Waiting For", Yes, "I am the Dream", oblama. Mayor as opposed to community organizer? Govenor as opposed to state senator?

Oh yes, I forgot he was elected to the big house, but he has been on the campaign trail for most of that time, while Govenor Palin has been, well governing a state. That is called executive experience, something none of the other candidates have.

As far as Biden, he is just another example of dimwitted judgement by the oblama. Biden was forced to abandon a previous canpaign when it was discovered he was a plagarist. Not just once, but several times.

Let's see, he included five pages he did not write in a law-school term paper. Yep, got bounced right out of the class. Then he went around years later, after he should have learned his lesson, giving a speech written and delivered by an English politician. I guess he thought nobody would know since there was an ocean between them and us!

Yes sir, I don't know where you dims find these intellectually challenged people to represent you, but then I guess anyone that can talk loud and talk long is impressive to you after dumb ol'GWB lied all your intellectual leaders into war. And hey, I will grant you that the oblama is pretty good at reading a teleprompter.

Without it he is the Wizard of Uh's!

Want some CHANGE with that WHINE?
Obama's successful legislation concerning the buying of politician's meals (contingent upon whether the politicians are eating while standing up or sitting down)is paramount to my son's lemonade stand.

His so called legislation that required a "profile in courage" that Biden spoke of (The Lugar-Obama Bill) was so "routine" that there was no recorded vote. It was passed on a voice vote, and was never covered by CBS, ABC, NBC, etc.

The "Dignity For Wounded Warriors Act" (A bill Obama introduced)never made it out of Committee because apparently his "fellow" Democrats didn't think it was worth passing.

This is Obama's RECORD that is supposed to make us believe Obama is QUALIFIED because he's done SO MUCH! THESE are his legislative ACCOMPLISHMENTS?

See the article in The Weekly Standard for more information concerning these facts. It's entitled "Inflating Obama's record will not resolve doubts" written by karl Rove 8/28/08.

I'll say it again: Would you like some CHANGE with that WHINE; you can find it in PALIN!

Does this mean Obama has conceded already? I didn't even get a chance to vote against him....!

Executive experience as the governer of Alaska? That state that elected Ted Stevens for 100 years? And you're bringing up plagiarism charges from over 20 years ago? Who cares? Is that all ya got? You threw a woman on the ticket just to steal ignorant women voters. Bottom line. Good luck and way to do your homework the same way Al-Jazeera and Saudi madrasa students do their homework!

Pretty hypocrital of Barry O.
Whom has zero foreign policy experience(unless you count his brief "world tour") to call out Governor Palin on her experience. He has spent a majority of his time in office running for POTUS instead of being AT WORK.

And small town America is what makes America who she is. Without the small towns, we are nothing but a few major cities with no substance in between. No culture. No real society. And certainly no business...

Contrast McCain's courteous tribute
to Obama's nomination to the petty, snarky, snobbish broadside (no pun intended) so reflexively spewed by Team Obama. They just can't help themselves ... from the overreach about Wright, Ayers, Pfleger, his ethnicity (which only matters to them), and SanFran Nan's arrogant foot-in-mouth attitude ... it just keeps coming.

Thanks, Dems, for displaying all your incivility for all to see. The sound you hear is the thousands - even millions - of women's feet marching into the voting booth to pull the lever for McCain/Palin!
