Past the Politics: On the Ground in Iraq
Posted by: Mary Katharine Ham at 6:42 PM

Debate or no debate, cloture or no-- in Iraq, Operation Baghdad has started.

Say a prayer, folks, for American and Iraqi alike.

If you're fed up with the filibustering, and media farces, and resolutions of varying degrees of cowardice, go read some embed bloggers tonight, and toss a few coins in their mugs. They need it, and we need them. They've all got Paypal buttons. It's easy.

Bill Ardolino went along on a nighttime raid with the Iraqi Army in Fallujah. Great story, great pictures, and a view of what's really going down in these places where we must win.

Michael Yon was on the Glenn & Helen show this week (via satellite phone, from Iraq), where he reported, among other things, "tremendous progress" by Iraqi forces.

Chris Muir's embedding, so I look forward to hearing from him.

And, Bill Roggio's reporting on Iran involvement in the Karbala attack.

Update: Michelle Malkin has the trailer for "Outside the Wire," produced by a Marine about life on the ground in the mission.

Update: Allah's tracking Arab TV.

Go Army!
I am glad to finally see this operation begin. Its way past time - non-binding resolution or not - to support our soldiers in the field.

GO ARMY! KICK EXTREMIST HAJI BUTT.

It would be a hoot if this new strategy actually resulted in a peaceful Baghdad.

As for konniebay, I am a PROUD MARINE DAD whose son just returned from Anbar province. Your son and all of our boys in harm's way are in my family's prayers every day.

America can still stand tall for human dignity and civilization, but I fear the real battle is at home. If we fail to hold our resolve now, we'll stand for nothing.

Stop Playing Politics
I am proudly a member of an elite group of people. I am a soldier's mother. My son is serving his second tour in Iraq.
There is something I wish to shout loud and clear to the liberals and the RINOs and any Republican who has lost his/her nerve:

STOP PLAYING POLITICS WITH THE LIVES OF OUR TROOPS!!!

Our troops feel betrayed by your non-binding resolution and our enemy is rejoicing at the division you are causing in our country.

JUST STOP AND BE REAL AMERICANS. SUPPORT OUR TROOPS AND THEIR MISSION FOR VICTORY!!!
